Overly dark ambiance with terrible acoustics. Food was passable. The sourdough for the baked artichoke dip ($15) was burnt, but the kitchen obviously couldn't be bothered to correct their simple mistake so it was presented with the burnt sides facing down on the plate. It was sent back and replaced immediately, but come on. How lazy and disrespectful is that? The prawn saganaki ($21) and prawn, mango and avocado salad ($24) both had a measly four prawns each. They weren't particularly large or fresh, either, and for the price, they could definitely afford to be more generous. Large share plates, such as the barramundi ($29) and short rib ($32) were better, but not good enough to redeem the underwhelming starters, atmosphere and staff. We didn't bother with the uninspiring dessert specials. If you're considering Bondi Hardware for your next weekend meal, there are plenty of superior options nearby.

Service was shocking. Only half the food arrived. We waited an hour even to get our drinks. Ordered the chargrilled corn that we saw on their Instagram and we got one piece of corn… they told us it was the same thing. The tacos that did arrive were very nice but half our order never came and they didn’t give us any discount even though two people in our group got no food. Wouldn’t recommend!!

Great service at atmosphere. Went on Wednesday for $20 steaks and added a Greek salad for $18. The photo attached is the Greek salad we received for $18. We couldn’t stop laughing when it came out. I called over the lovely waitress and asked are people usually satisfied with this as an $18 salad? To which we responded she wouldn’t be too please about it either. Everything else was reasonably priced but look at this photo!!!! This place is having an absolute laugh!!!

We tried the Hardware Feast banquet ($40pp for about 8 dishes). Food quality was good, but it took a really long time for the dishes to come out, probably took 1.5 hours to finish the whole meal. We'll come again to try the individual dishes. Sirloin steak, chicken wings and sweet potato fries were the highlights.

Came here for a roast 2 weeks ago on a Sunday! Food was great & staff were friendly. The roast has a deal where you get a glass of wine with it all for $30 so it’s well priced. The corn was a little difficult to eat with just a nice and fork but that can be overlooked. Overall a really lovely experience

Delicious!!! The food was awesome. All the meat was cooked perfectly. The only let down to me was the sauce that came with the steak was a little odd. I believe it was soya butter but to me it tasted a little like cake batter which was odd. Everything else was wonderful and I think the lamb was the star of the night. The food isn’t cheap but the portion sizes are quite good. For the 2 of us we had an entree, 2 mains and a dessert and were full. The staff are attentive and friendly. The decor was nice but we were towards the back of the restaurant and to me it was a touch too dark.

Google
The food was delicious and I would definitely recommend it if you like shared plates. The cocktails were also very good and worth the money. Overall the service was friendly and attentive especially given how busy they were. We booked relatively last minute for three so we chose to sit outside rather than on bar leaners in the window. The heaters were cranking and it was easier to have a conversation outside. If we had stayed inside where it was loud and there didn’t seem to be much social distancing going on, it could have been a different story. Overall I liked the place a lot and would come back and recommend it to others. Maybe just not while we are trying to limit large gatherings. (Dish came with more calamari. We’d already eaten some)

Have been here a few times and have to say, the Sunday roast for $30 with a glass of wine is one of the best in Sydney. Generous plate and portion of lamb (I’ve also had the chicken and it was great!) veg and Yorkshire were cooked to perfection. We got in and out before the mad evening rush & staff were friendly and efficient. Will no doubt be back for another Sunday roast soon 😋

Yelp
First stop after landing in Sydney. This was only 5 min from the place we were staying and our local friend recommended it. Amazing service- not a lot of brunch options but overall it was good food. The only other minor thing is we ordered hot totties and they tasted a bit subpar - in their defence though, they didn't really know what that was. If you are in Bondi, this restaurant is worth checking out.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Plates vary as small shared and large shared plates. Cocktails are delicious, so good luck choosing one. We got the daily pizza which had bbq sauce, chicken, brisket and onions. Usually I wouldn't love bbq on a pizza but I was blown away. Great place to check out if you love beautiful decor, small plates and great cocktails right off the beach.

Yelp
Came here to lunch with friends and it was pretty empty. The waiters were accommodating and our food and drinks came out pretty quickly. The food is alright, however, I found other cafés in Bondi to be more tasty. The value is pretty good for the lunch options.

Yelp
First place to try in Sydney! Ordered the Tripigroni- a variation on the Negroni with Beefeater gin, Campari, sweet vermouth, lemon, house made orange jam, passion fruit. Delicious change of pace from your standard. For an appetizer we sampled the sweet potatoes fries with a cinnamon aioli on the side. The sweet potato fries were well done and not unlike good ones I've had elsewhere, but the cinnamon aioli made it stand out in my mind. The cinnamon was present but understated and that's why it "worked", in my judgment. For the meal we had a few "share" items to distribute among us - a pan seared Haloumi, Roast Carrot and Faro salad. That was fantastic. A larger order of that would have done me just right. We then shared some BBQ Chipotle Pork Spare Ribs with a "slaw" on the side. The pork ribs were very tasty - cooked just right. The slaw accompanying it however - not so good. There was no indication in the menu that this was a spicy item but it had a ridiculous amount of horseradish that completely overpowered it and made it impossible to enjoy. That was the only negative. Overall it was a great meal. Would definitely eat here again and again. The other big plus was the atmosphere. The decor was fantastic with brick and stone. It was warm and inviting with good lighting, great music selection. Great spot. Heaps of atmosphere. Not to be missed.

Yelp
I've been to Bondi Hardware for dinner a couple of times, I've been there for brunch once, it is a solid all-rounder and in my opinion, the best choice on Hall St. I mean look at that granola, if that granola was a Jedi he would probably be Master Windu. Yep, that good: coconut and strawberries with a house-made crunchy, not over toasted or over sweetened granola. The idea to share sides is not a revolution but it is presented in simple metal cups and you get to build your plates the way you like it. Tetris is fun, Tetris with bacon is *nowordsrightnowletmebacon*. Quantity will not be an issue, it is in the usual price range of a big breakfast with four sides - 20$. The only downer was the coffee with was hit and the correct order but average in taste I thought. And the lack of DFFed (duck fat fried) fries *_* That's all folks!

Yelp
I'd initially thought Bondi Hardware was a solid 3-star experience. High quality bar food (those. sliders.) a tasty range of cocktails, a busy, buzzing Bondi atmosphere, and a rad adaptation of a hardware store-gone-alcoholic all leaned toward the high end of 3-stars. So I stuck with that belief on my first, second, third, and fourth visit. And then visit number five came along. Once I realised that it had gone from a "nice to visit when friends suggest it" bar to a venue I would prioritize for each and every guets that came to visit, I knew it had tipped into the 4-star category. So what did it for me? Well, not their beer selection, that's for sure. (Although they do have a much better selection of local wines.) Perhaps it's their wonderful (and painfully fashionable) staff that always seem to be friendly and relaxed regardless of the flashes of chemical mayhem of sexy people picking up on one another all around them. Or maybe it's the really lovely designed interiors. The bathrooms are a particular fave of mine. All I can say is that while it didn't grab me at first, each time I left wanting more. Somewhere along the way it captured my inner lumberjack and has yet to let go.

Yelp
Yumm!! After a grueling 19 hours of travel from Las Vegas - Sydney I was elated to be in Bondi Beach, sit on a sticky bar stool and obtain food coma status from delicious Australian beer and artisan style pizzas. Bondi Hardware actually stopped serving food at around 10pm, but pizza was still available. It was a crowded, loud and fun atmosphere. The next time I am in Sydney I want to go back to try their regular menu. It looked delicious. I will upload a pic of the pizza and beers :)

Yelp
Came here for lunch after running from Coogee to Bondi. Lots of dishes to choose from on the menu. Funky cafe with many cool drinks. Ordered a few different dishes to share so we can try everything. Must order the Honey Sriracha chicken wings!!! Yes I know the guilt kicks in after a good run and you're eating it. But trust me, you won't be disappointed. For the sliders, I prefer the spiced chicken and pork belly. The beef one was a bit bland. Order a salad on the side and a jug of mojito = pretty good weekend lunch!

Rachel F.

Yelp
Atmosphere is great, a little loud and dark but still GREAT. We shared the calamari and wings. Calamari was the best I've ever had!!!! Did not like the wing sauce though, too sweet to be considered "bbq." I got the lamb salad for myself and loved it but do wish it was more "salady" rather than just a chickpea base... everyone else in my party enjoyed their meals but we did not like the scattered service considering we chose not to share the plates. Like I said we shared the calamari and wings but each ordered our own dish. I ended up finishing my meal before my roommate even got hers... however, they serve A great sauvignon Blanc

Yelp
This place has build a rep among the many thriving eateries along Hall Street . I was expecting something outrageously amazing . I decided to try Brunch. The decor of the restaurant is very rustic and definitely fits into the whole Bondi Beach Scene. The roof and lighting was very easy on the eye and whole place was very inviting. The staff were exceptionally friendly and took our orders quickly and brought water to the table as often as we needed ( was a hot day and we just finished a log run ). The drinks were brought out very quickly. Surprised they didn't offer smoothies or shakes . The whole health options would go down a treat based on the young and modern customers the place attracts. I ordered a Steak sandwich and my friend ordered scrambled eggs and Smoked Salmon. The food took a little longer then it should have I would say . The place wasn't exactly busy . My food came out a couple of minutes before my friend and I felt it mannerly to wait for him considering that it was only the two of us . This seems be a common occurrence cause the table next to us the same happened . When we digged into the food. I was exceptionally happy with the steak. The steak was very tender and cooked to perfection and the sandwich came with a fried egg and green salad and a beautiful jam on the side . Overall was pleased with Bondi Hardware and would be willing to try either the lunch or dinner menu.

Yelp
Slightly disappointing. We were looking forward to eating here because we liked the vibe when we walked by. Menu is very limited and deceiving on the "small share" plates. The haloumi was very good and the flavors complimented well with olives tomatoes and cucumber. We tried the slider and fish taco but I didn't like the flavor combo on either. It's definitely not kid friendly which we should have known when they didn't have high chairs. Glad we gave it a try. Maybe it would be better with a group!

Yelp
You know that worst part about breakfast, right? When you can't decide which side you want with your eggs on toast: bacon, mushrooms, bacon, avo, bacon, feta, sweet potato hash, bacon.... lucky for you these guys at Bondi Hardware have nailed it with their build your own brekky. Oh and they also have sliders on the menu. Sliders! For breakfast! Now I've seen everything. But seriously. This place is great, tasty and smack bang it the heart of Bondi. Go there.

Yelp
Don't think they do their alcoholic Elderflower icy pops any more (shaaad faaashe) but hells, it's still such a great bar. Killer drinks - double-shot, unsalted Tommy's margarita anyone? - killer service, and no serial killers that I know of to worry about = one of my Bondi go-to bars. I only seem to drink here but the smells wafting out oft he kitchen (that char-grilled meat, yyyyyyyeah boy) means that will probably change pretty quickly.

Yelp
Aside from the fact that I'm a Bondi local and really appreciated having a (real) hardware store in my neighbourhood, I really love this place. How could I not love a place that has 'Notorious P.I.G.' on the menu?! Food is delicious (albeit without many vegetarian options... and no fear of calories), the Bloody Mary's have kick and the staff are not just sweet and helpful... but genuinely sweet and helpful! Really what won me over (along with P.I.G.G.Y) was the atmosphere. I find the similar decor at the Winery and Gazebo a bit too forced... at Bondi Hardware, it all seems to work and make for a great cool-but-comfortable day/night in my favourite suburb.

Yelp
I went to Bondi Hardware on a Monday night for pre-dinner drinks. There was only a handful of people there when I arrived at 6pm but was bustling when I left about 8pm, a good sign on a traditionally quiet night. The staff are really attentive and the manager even opened the door for us as we left which was a nice friendly touch. Try their punch which is a mix of white rum, Frangelico, Cointreau, lime and ginger beer. It's $35 and makes about 6 drinks which is good value in my books. The ambience is nice, with dark wood, leafy greens scattered around and candles in the evening.

Yelp
Today for lunch. Beer was tasty as can be, great mini selection. My partner and I both went for for the sriracha chicken slider. The presentation was fantastic with the chicken soft and tender but pink and bloody. Don't fall for the medium rare chicken gut pain! Won't be back again

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere of this place and the staff are really hospitable. My cocktail was good, though the maple flavor was almost nonexistent, my gf's cocktail was amazing though. We tried the sweet potato fries with sumac and tahini dressing, the pork belly sliders, and the mac and cheese croquettes with truffled ranch. The ranch didn't taste truffled at all which is surprising bc of how strong truffles are, but the croquettes were great.

Amanda S.

Yelp
This place is a must do . The food is amazing staff are great and the cocktails are pretty scrumptious .. the lamb salad is "famous" for a good reason , also the steak is worth a return visit .. once you've been here you've found your new favourite place

Scott C.

Yelp
It's usually a bit of a wait to get a table at this place but go have a drink down the street and wait for the call, it's definitely worth it! The fried pickles are my favorite! But the salt and pepper squid, garlic prawns, pizzas and cocktails are all awesome too! The prices are reasonable considering the location, and what they could be charging but still be prepared to spend $80-$100 for 2 people if you get some cocktails. They are all share plates which is alright because you get to try a few different things. The staff has always been extremely accommodating so check out the hardware if you're in the area!

Yelp
First off, the venue is beautifully laid out, and the food is quite good, but.... Service is seriously lacking. I don't know who owns or manages this place, but they need to get the finger out and train their staff in the basics of satisfying the customer. 1. When you're told you've a 15mim wait for a table, but kept waiting for 1hr 15, that's very sloppy 2. When 5 people order dinner, but only 4 come out... and you don't realise it for 15 mins? That's also incredibly sloppy. 3. So when the guy who's dinner has gone missing orders another beer to pass the time waiting... and you forget that too??! That's just beyond sloppy, it's crap service. 4. And if, after all these c**k ups, there's not even a hint of an acknowledgement or apology or attempt to make up for the mistakes (even a free coffee would be helped), that's just sad. So in a nutshell, we won't be back. And of you're hungry & thirsty, I'd highly question going there too. Poor training & management of the floor staff; it all smacks of complacency by the owners. (FYI, here are the food reviews. BBBQ Chocken Pizza 4/5. Pepperoni Pizza 2/5. Prawns 5/5. Beef Sliders 2/5. Pork Sliders 4/5. Wine menu 4/5. Beer menu 1/5 - only 1 beer on tap?! Not good enough).

Yelp
Great place! Super good natural blended juices! The furniture is great and services as well. Enjoyed HW

Veronica C.

Yelp
The artichoke dip with sourdough toast is delicious. The only issue is the ratio of dip to toast you get - definitely not enough toast. We offset this by dipping our chips into the rest of it. Someone in our group also ordered the prawns and liked them. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and the service only slowed down towards the end.

John H.

Yelp
Great place to go for drink and feed. Been on many occasions since they opened. Favourite dish is Lamb salad. Great atmosphere staff always friendly. Wouldn't recommend if your not a music fan as they do turn it up as the day goes on.

Kimberly K.

Yelp
Their calamari and pork belly is seriously yummy. Overall the food here is very good and they make a killer Bloody Mary. The perfect ratio of all ingredients. The only negative about the restaurant is that the service is slow. It took far too long for my friend and I to get our food and drinks. The service, while slow is still super friendly and accommodating. I think the kitchen needs to just get orders to the patrons in a timely manor. Definitely order the pork belly when you eat here. Its the best I have had in Sydney.

Sarah H.

Yelp
this please is a great eatery for bondi beach goers! the sweet girl at the door was very good to us the food was yummy and there was definitely a cool vibe going on all in all a fun place for dinner after a day at the beach sarah, san francisco

Ben C.

Yelp
Decent food, really loud music. The food here had very good variety, heavy California influence, but a little heavy of the deep fryer for many of the dishes. The service was great and friendly. The lamb salad was our favorite by far, a great mix of greens and protein.

Thomas A.

Yelp
This place is not a hardware store! That being said, go here! Was greeted by a great staff that worked together as well as recommend some of their favorite dishes. Started off with the garlic prawns which was my favorite. Just full flavor and the chorizo was great. Next was the pork belly, this was my first time trying it but it wasn't bad. My friend really enjoyed it. Our final dish was the filet in a verde salsa which was very good, I think the sauce is what made it for me. I would come back here

Lindsay T.

Yelp
Had a good initial experience here on a quiet night with coworkers. The man working was friendly and welcoming, and the food and bev was good. Just went back on a Thursday at 7 to have a meal on my own, and did not stay. The lady who sat me tried to sit me at the bar, and when I asked for a table said "let me see what I have"... I could see that she had many open tables. After a long work day, I really wanted a seat back. She checked her floor plan and brought me through to the back to the very last table - the only one that was small for two ppl. She faced me into the hallway. Maybe I'm just in a bad mood, but this felt horrible. Clearly she is saving the rest of the tables for this epic Thursday night crowd, and I'm not part of it?! Boo, hiss. Got up and left. You should be able to sacrifice one of those many empty tables for four, so that your patrons don't feel like they've been shoved away.

Brooke W.

Yelp
Amazing dinner. "Small" plates that are huge. Chicken wings and lava cake to die for. Beef brisket amazing and tender. Wow.

Maria L.

Yelp
These guys got it right! For a fairly new restaurant/bar in Bondi, the guys at Bondi Hardware are doing well and going strong. The service is crazy friendly and the food is surprisingly good. Decor is very dark, cozy with exposed brick. I've been a few times and look forward to returning.

Mrs B B.

Yelp
Yummy sangria! More-ish food and great atmosphere. We went on a busy night and the service wasn't the best, will try again on a quieter night
