We went for lunch to this place. The restaurant location is extremely convenient if you are visiting Bondi beach. We were seated promptly. Server was quick and we did not notice any delay during our lunch. Food was flavorful. Loved their Turkish garlic bread. Other food including gnocchi dishes were very good. Many vegetarians options if you have any restrictions. Staff was friendly. The prices were a little high but considering location it was expected. Flavorful food along with friendly and quick service makes up for steep price. My kids enjoyed eating here and it was worth it. We will come again here when we come back to this area.

This corner restaurant (slightly away from the street noise) deserves so much praise for its food and very kind service. After walking on the beach, and coming in chilled, we came 5 min before opening and the lovely hostess turned on the patio heater and served us tea despite it being early. One of the other servers gave us a lovely friendly smile while complimenting our choice of food. On to the food— my partner had a beautiful pan fried gnocchi that had crisp outside, soft inside, and the goat cheese melts in your mouth. And I had the calamari fritti, which is the best I have ever had (and I have eaten a LOT of calamari). Amazing! Don’t hesitate to come

We booked the Bondi Trattoria out for a birthday party yesterday and it was absolutely sensational! The restaurant was open to the streetscape and expansive views of Bondi beach with gentle sea breezes blowing in to the light filled generous space. The staff were warm, welcoming and perfectly attentive. We had drinks and canapes on the terrace before being seated for an exquisite 3 course lunch. For a function of about 45 it was unbeatable and the memories made were priceless. I can’t recommend Bondi Trattoria for a function more highly and thank Alistair, Joe and the team for everything they did to make our celebration so wonderful!

The squid ink angel hair was one of the best squid ink pastas I’ve ever had, so hopefully it’ll come back to the special menu again. I went back to have it last month, but they didn’t have it anymore but they said it’ll come back again. Their tiramisu was also great! Everything was perfect including their service until we said ‘not today’ when they asked if we’d add tips on the credit card machine during the payment process. This middle aged male waiter just completed the payment process bluntly as soon as we said ‘not today’ and left the table without even saying ‘thank you’ or ‘see ya’. My friend and I are such foodies and we were so happy to spontaneously discover this restaurant, but the impression went down the hill dramatically at the very end, which was disappointing, but we gave another chance and that waiter wasn’t there that day, so we had better dining experience this month.

Had lunch here for my wife’s first Mother’s Day. Had to change the booking last minute and was running late and they were still very accommodating. Food was awesome and service was even better. Would recommend and will be back with family.

Google
Bondi Tratt is my wife's favourite Sydney restaurant and we've been coming here for years - the food, the views, the service...all great. I just needed to say that this recent Valentine's day lunch was no exception EXCEPT, for the first time I ordered their version of fish and chips. Delishimo 😋👍🏻🥳! I would say, probably the best fish and chips I've had. Simple but stylish and high quality fish, chips, tartare etc. If you haven't been to Bondi Trattoria, give it a try. You won't be disappointed!!

Google
The two pasta dishes we had were amazing! The best I've ever had by a significant margin. I didn't realise pasta could go to whole new level of tastiness. Excellent service too.

Google
My kids had the margarita pizza and I had the seafood spaghetti — both were phenomenally delicious. Add to that a brilliant view over Bondi Beach and a fine glass of Aussie Wine, and you could easily settle in here for a lazy afternoon.

Yelp
A lovely place to dine right by Bondi Beach! Went with two friends and got the Brussels to start along with the honey garlic pizza with a mascarpone base. The dishes were delicious but it was a bit much to start with. The mascarpone pizza was great but combined with the potatoes and honey garlic made it a hearty starter. The Brussels were a interesting combination of mint, dill, and garbanzo beans which were a great offset to the heavy pizza. For our main, we got the Napoli gnocchi and the pumpkin ravioli. Both excellent choices! Napoli gnocchi was flavorful and light, while the ravioli was the perfect balance of savory and creamy. Our waitress was super friendly and was very good about checking for our nut and shellfish allergy. Loved our meal here and would come again!

Yelp
Holy shit did this place surprise me!!!! Having traveled throughout Italy and having eaten at some incredible Italian restaurants, I can tell you I didn't think there would be good Italian in Australia ‍ I was wrong!! This place is right on the corner of Bondi Beach so it has a decent view. The servers were sooooo nice and hospitable, I felt like I was back home in the states at a nice restaurant where they live to serve hoping for a good tip. I started out with the tomato bruschetta. While I would've preferred my bread to be toasted, I didn't care because the flavors popping off of the toppings were dynamite!!! So incredibly flavorful. That got me thinking twice about the place I'd chosen for dinner...maybe this was going to be a pleasant dining experience after all. Next I ordered spaghetti. Look, I NEVER order spaghetti but this one bad crab and all sorts of other seafood and it just sounded appetizing that I thought let's give it a try. Damn! It was so good! (Pause for appreciation). The noodles were homemade, the sauce was so light I felt like I was in Italy actually it may have just been olive oil, I'm not sure. With every bite I desired more. That hasn't happened to me with a dish in a long time. I was so pleasantly surprised with this place, I'm so glad I tried it! I did try the tiramisu for dessert. It was ok. I've had better. But it wasn't terrible. I may have just been full and didn't give it the attention that perhaps it deserved, who knows. Anyway, if you're in the area and you like Italian, check it out! You will not be disappointed!! It was dark out so my pictures aren't the best.

Yelp
The best meal I had during my visit to Sydney. The ingredients are fresh and melt in your mouth. This restaurant is in a great location if you're planning on hanging out around bondi beach. If I'm ever in Sydney again I will be back to this restaurant--no hesitation!

Yelp
Bondi Trattoria has occupied the southern end of Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach for many years. It was starting to look a little tired, until a recent change in ownership and revamp of the dining space and menu. The new owners, both coming with impressive resumes. Joe Pavlovich runs the kitchen and has experience listing the likes of est. and, most recently the executive chef for the Mangan Group. Alasdair France was formerly head of operation for the Hilton and the Mangan Group taking care of the front of house. This wealth of experience is on display through the quality food and impeccable service. This dynamic Kiwi duo, branched out to do their own thing. Like many Kiwi's before them, Bondi is the location, where they have chosen to start their own venture. The restaurant has a classy upgrade to enhance the stunning outlook over the Iconic Bondi Beach, with alfresco dining, an open dining room and semi open kitchen. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with decent portions and, as the name suggests, primarily serving Italian fare. However, with a wealth of experience and travel under their belt, the menu also has a Euro Mediterranean influence with a modern approach. Pavlovich focuses on quality, by using local seasonal ingredients, with each dish oozing flavour. Our visit at night, dining in a group with great company, was something special. This allowed us to sample much of the menu. We were eased into the evening with some social lubricant. The drinks list was full of quality; some Australian Italian style wine, boutique beer and amazing cocktails. Their version of the Negroni was very enjoyable. They also allow for BYO at $10 per bottle. Bondi Tratt has a 'specials' board to ensure there is always something exciting and new. The Antipasti(starters) were impressive, with me again salivating whist writing this post. A must was the crispy salmon winglets. Get hands on! Grab a piece, smear it in garlic sauce and have the salmon melt in your mouth. The diamond clams with black pepper vinaigrette, a great seaside option. The roasted bugs with garlic and chilli butter and buffalo mozzarella, this dish earmarked to be the new signature dish. The Bondi Tratt's take on tarama dip was full of flavour with bottarga, lemon oil fennel pollen and served with flat bread, this another favourite. The salads and vegetables are great for sharing. The pickled pumpkin salad is nicely balanced with flavour and texture. The creamy raw broccoli salad with salted ricotta, tarragon aioli, with walnuts, apple and onion for added texture, a flavoursome way to eat broccoli. Another option for sharing is the pizza, with the restaurant ensuring the toppings are plentiful. It wouldn't be a trattoria without pasta, and this they have. They even have gluten free options. Staying true to the original menu, Joe has kept the original signature dish of angel hair pasta with fresh tuna. I do a bit of diving and spearfishing and can attest to the local seasonal produce, with the use of blue swimmer crab and cuttlefish spaghetti dish. A tasty pasta, with the seafood nicely prepared. The casarecce pasta with slow cooked beef cheeks was rich with flavour, a good choice for a cold winters night. We had to channel our reserve stomach for dessert. The tiramisu was full of suprises, each spoonful with a hidden bit of flavour and texture, with toasted hazelnuts, puffed rice or dehydrated berries. The olive oil and lemon cake with candied cumquat is a nice option, if you are looking for a dessert that is not too sweet. The croation style brulee was delicious and silky smooth. Bondi Beach is usually a summer destination, however I enjoy the beach year round and winter is the perfect time to enjoy Bondi without the crowd. The Bondi Beach winter festival is also running with a ferriswheel lit up at night and an ice skating rink. Why not make it an excuse to visit Bondi Beach and to enjoy a great meal at the rejuvinated Bondi Trattoria.

Yelp
An old standard that never really changes. Had the steak, halloumi and brussel sprouts. Great value with professional staff.

Yelp
As first time visitors to Australia, my wife and I know nothing of Aussy cuisine or where the best places are. We do however know great beauty when we see it, and know great food when we taste it. After a vigorous morning walk along the cliffs, and the eye popping views of Bondi Beach, we happened into this Trattoria for some porridge and coffee. OMG as the texting teens say/type. The BEST PORRIDGE EVER!

Yelp
Amazing little Italian restaurant with relaxing views, amazing service, and delicious food! Don't judge the restaurant by how it looks from the sidewalk. It is truly amazing food!

Yelp
A great location, good house wine and a delicious selection of pizza for a quick bite to dine on. Service was efficient and friendly. Worth a trip back.

Yelp
Just got home after a terrible dining experience here. Do not go to this restaurant. I went as the guest of a friend who is a chef, and had told me that the place had been redone and the food was good.. We ordered the oysters, and when they arrived they weren't chilled and had no ichor left in them, and tasted kind of tired. Not the best oysters i've had, but not too bad. Forgivable, if the rest of the meal was good. My friend had the bugs, which were great. I ordered a scotch fillet steak, which cost $44. For $44 I would expect a steak that pretty much melts in my mouth. This one was literally half gristle, and I kept ploughing through it, thinking that I'd get through the gristle in a minute and there'd be a big yummy chunk of steak. Even the bits I did swallow were chewy and stringy. I left the last quarter of the steak and the plate was covered with masticated and spat out gristle. It was a terrible steak. All well and good, I said to the waiter I was disappointed and the manager chick came over and said something along the lines of, 'I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your steak.' I said, 'Did you see it? Half of it was chewed and spat out on the plate.' 'Yes, I saw it. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it,' she said again, like it was fine and there was something wrong with me. Not 'I'm sorry we served you a sub standard steak.' She offered dessert or wine, but I don't drink and I can't eat any of the desserts as I don't eat sugar, so I said no to both. No further move was made to address the fact that I was an unhappy customer. I said to my friend, 'Let's get out of here.' We went to pay the bill, and discovered they hadn't taken any money off for the steak. They had, however, taken off our mineral water off the bill. What a huge concession. The water we drank with our sub standard meal. My friend said, 'We're not paying for the steak', and the female manager argued with us, saying that I'd eaten it and should pay for it. 'Oh wow,' I said. 'Really? Half of it was chewed up gristle on the plate and a quarter of it was left.' My friend said 'I'm a chef. I would never have served that. She didn't eat it, she spat it out. It was all over the plate.' The manager said, 'It's really not my call. I've talked to the owner and this comes from him.' 'Get him here, please.' The manager disappeared for a while, then came back, saying, 'I've fixed that up, there's no charge for the steak'. She took the steak off AND PUT THE MINERAL WATER BACK ON THE BILL. What the actual f***? The owner came up and basically harangued me for eating as much of it as I did. 'Why didn't you send it back right at the beginning?' 'I kept thinking it would be the end of the gristle and I'd get to the steak, so I just ploughed through it.' He went on and on, like I was just trying to scam them or something, but a third of the steak was gristle and I left a quarter so I actually ate bugger all. This was the owner of the place. I am an unhappy customer and in front of the whole restaurant and to the delight of the diners who love a show, and the discomfort of those who just want a peaceful meal, he is blaming me for his shitty steak. 'We offered you dessert but you said no,' he said, still obviously pissed off. 'I can't eat the dessert.' 'Oh.' And one more time he came in with another swipe about it would have been better if I hadn't eaten it. Unbelievable. I am a local here at Bondi, and I am never going back to the Tratt. My friend is a local chef and she is never going back. We are both going to tell the people we know not to go there. How hard is it, if a customer isn't happy, to just say 'I'm really sorry, what can we do?' I have never been so embarrassed to make a complaint. I wasn't rude, I wasn't nasty, just showed them the plate covered with gristle. It's irrelevant whether or not I ate it. They served a terrible steak and then made it my fault when I brought it to their attention. Goodbye Bondi Trattoria.

Yelp
Don't let the star rating fool you - a sunny afternoon at Bondi Trattoria can't be beat. If you're lucky enough to snag one of the outdoor tables, I'd recommend calling all of your friends and taking advantage for hours on end. The food is perfect for a relaxed lunch - a strangely cohesive blend of modern Australian and Italian, and my eggplant parmigiana cozied up quite nicely to my companion's tasmanian ocean trout with roast almond aioli. The gnocchi was definitely a standout as well (potato and goats cheese gnocchi with asparagus, porcini, burnt butter and sage to be precise). All in all, a lovely way to spend a long afternoon and a bit more money than anticipated. All that said, I think the secret of BT is coming for breakfast. A breakfast pizza with smoked ham, egg, spinach, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and provolone or (ahem, and) 2x stacked buttermilk pancakes with blueberry compote, banana, mascarpone and maple syrup sounds like a morning beach workout I could get behind.

Di W.

Yelp
Being health conscious, I ordered one watermelon salad and one smoothie. The fruit salad was covered by full bowl of cream and smoothie taste way too sweet and artificial. Aweful dinning experience.

Julie L.

Yelp
Another of Bondi's great original cafes, Bondi Trattoria (the Tratt as it's affectionately known) has been perched at the corner of Campbell Pde since the mid 80's and has resisted the urge to bring it's prices up to the exorbitant levels most eating holes in the area rest at. For some reason I only ever come here for breakfast, I think because I am so damn addicted to the roasted truffle field mushrooms they do at a very reasonable $8.90. They are licensed and have a creative Italian-Australian fusion dinner menu and a great chef so I'm sure it's a mighty fine place to dine! The Tratt always has a friendly buzz, and with it's outdoor tables and decent views of Bondi it's a nice place to sit in the sun and enjoy a morning coffee with the locals.

Yelp
Beautiful view of Bondi, this place is a great place to get a upscale italian dinner. Be forewarned that the place gets busy so sometimes the wait can be very long. Touristy spot with good italian food. Great date spot to impress someone!

Andreas F.

Yelp
This spot right off main street in Bondi is a nice little place to have a snack or an easygoing lunch. You can either sit inside or at the terrace right outside overlooking Bondi. If you sit outside you can probably be disturb by heavy traffic...but hey this is Aussie? Theres no traffic jams here! Other than that, you can enjoy some people watching while eating your meal. Their sandwiches are great and will get the job done for a lighter meal. Pricing is reg. Bondi style so its nothing to raise an eyebrow for. Service was a bit slow when we arrived, but they catched up and delivered according to expectations after that. This is neither fancy or just a simple joint, its a casual place to have some food at. If you are in Bondi for the day, this will probably settle your needs, and give you a nice outpost for the rest of your day.

Danielle L.

Yelp
I walk past this place often and its always full.... and I've never quite worked out why...it's not that its bad....it's just not that good.... perhaps its tourists who are filling up the seats? Bondi Trattoria looks excellent from the outside - it take over a corner and has the feeling of a cafe you may find in Cannes. Patrons sit outside looking quite sophisticated as they sip on their lattes and so I suppose the atmosphere makes it quite fun....but for me, I'm a food girl - make me crave your meal that I have to go back.... and I didn't experience that when I visited the cafe. I went there for dinner an ordered the fussili puttanesca ($26.90) - fettucine prima vera - asparagus, sugar snaps, spinach, broccolini, cherry tomatoes, basil, lemon & air dried ricotta. It sounds good doesn't it? Well it was good -ish...but not amazing! Their waitstaff were friendly and to their credit they have great variety of food but this doesn't rate high on my "must" cafes for Bondi. Breakfast meals are between $5 - $17 Lunch meals are between $8 - $33 Dinner meals are between $18 - $35

Alecia W.

Yelp
Bondi Trattoria (or "tratt", as I've heard it referred to by locals) boasts an enviable location at the top of Campbell Parade, overlooking the length of Bondi Beach from its roadside perch. Though the name might suggest an Italian approach to food, the meals served are decidedly modern Australian with an emphasis on seafood across lunch and dinner menus. A breakfast stop off called for a serving of their truly enormous buttermilk pancakes; two of them, fluffy and not overly sweet, topped with a generous dollop of mascarpone, fresh blueberries and slices of banana with a side of maple syrup. Coveted verandah tables are hard to come by unless you arrive early, but no matter in the warmer months where indoor seating is a welcome reprieve from the heat. Large group bookings, be warned - BYO is forbidden for bigger parties, as I recently discovered.

Nicki F.

Yelp
This place does really great food - even their bacon and egg Turkish roll is top notch. Wow, the Australianisms are coming out - I think it's because my head is filled with the iconic Bondi. But what a place to show the tourists how good we are at food and service in this country. City to Surf day is not the best day to head to Bondi. It is ridiculously packed and there are people waiting to get into every café/restaurant in the area. Bondi Trattoria is use to the manic pace obviously as we were seated in 10 minutes, served in 10 and had food in under 15. The service was impeccable given it was an extremely busy day. Sit back, enjoy the views (perhaps with a glass of bubbly) and get some good grub into you. All round pretty good.

Joey S.

Yelp
On my last evening in Sydney, I attended Bondi Trattoria after enjoying a lovely sunset on the beach. I had the spaghetti and meatballs (because I had been traveling a lot and was very much craving some unnecessary carbs) but was very disappointed in the experience. The pasta tasted very average and the service left a lot to be desired. More specifically, our orders were mixed up, the waiters were hardly attentive to our table, and there was a (gross) mess in the bathroom. My traveling partner ordered a 20USD order of ravioli only to find four pieces covered under a heap of sauce. In short, my recommendation would be to look for a different overpriced establishment in the Bondi area.

Martyn Y.

Yelp
It's got a great view of the water- location is excellent but hey, we're here for the food and it's as good as it gets when it comes to Italian. I've read a LOT about the famous angel hair pasta with tuna that the chef Andy Davies created, and finally came up to Bondi to experience it (I'm from Canberra) and it is well worth the hype. Delicious (has to be fresh and served straight away I was told so the wait time was nothing) and cooked perfectly; we also got the ravioli which was also amazing.

Shantel R.

Yelp
Really poor service unfortunately and the food was sub standard. We ordered and had the table next to us, who arrived after us, given mains before our bread arrived. We had our side plates taken because we were 'only having drinks' when we had ordered breads and mains. The gnocchi was stodgy the pizza was average. Really disappointed as this was supposed to be a celebratory dinner at a nice restaurant, definitely wont be back

Mac P.

Yelp
food - the prosciutto, fig and mozzarella pizza was food, the gnocchi were clearly homemade with just a hint of truffle oil keeping things subtle. Pizza gets a 3, Pasta a 4. service - nice efficient service from clean cut, young and good looking staff atmosphere - great location on a higher elevation of bondi beach. The restaurant opens up with some tables on the terrace and the others inside but feel like they are outside. Between the cars, the music and the patrons, this place is loud. value - 27.5 AUD for a pizza that is too small to share is excessive, 22 AUD for pasta is also on the steep side.

Sharn G.

Yelp
We fell upon this place when we were hungry after a full mornings day of working outside. They had outdoor seating which was fantastic for me, it meant that I got to pat all the poochies that went past and make new friends. There's also seating inside and on the raised balcony. The staff seem to know their thing and you get a good feed, the food wasn't out of this world but it did hit the spot. There are bathrooms inside and they won't split the bill for you but at least they accept card payments.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Sit on the patio and enjoy the bustling street and the beach community of Bondi. The patio area is small, but I had no trouble finding a table in the shade. Large windows open to the outside, making those dining inside feel part of the action. I was offered sparkling or still water- I went with sparkling and was served a lovely Australian water. Since it was lunch time- I went with an appetizer pizza- garlic, rosemary and honey on a sourdough crust. It was cooked in a wood-fired oven and was a bit burned on the bottom. I could not taste any sourdough, but it was a crisp thin crust. Large chunks of roasted garlic covered the top with no evidence of rosemary in sight or in taste. I greatly dislike it when I order an item based on the ingredients and am served a dish missing said ingredient. It was a mediocre pizza to be sure. I ordered a local cider, Sydney Cider and it was the lunch's saving grace. Cool, crisp and with the right amount of bubbles. This was a great stop at the end of my perusal of Sculpture by the Sea.

Kate S.

Yelp
Whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner Bondi Trat has never disappointed. Friendly staff, excellent service, great atmosphere... definitely a favourite. Not a bad word to say about the food good on you chefs!! Well deserved 5 stars

Mango M.

Yelp
We booked a table and it was all just pretty random, so we went into the restaurant, there was a good view over bondi Beach, cozy place, really good service, and absolutely delicious food! It was amazing and tasted like heaven! I ordered the crab and squid spagetti and it was amazzinngggg! I can absolutely recommend it and good prices for the food too.

Johanna M.

Yelp
This is one of the most disappointing experiences I have had in my 4 years in bondi. Food isn't bad, but the worst service ever! Last time they completely forgot that we existed, didn't check on us in over an hour, forgot to bring out the main, and when we walked in to asked for it (after ONE HOUR because they ignored all waving and everything before) they got snippy and said it was basically our fault as we hadn't indicated that we had finished our starter... ridiculous!!!!!

Danielle L.

Yelp
It might have some of the best views of Bondi, however the "Tratt" is not living up to the quality of its location. It's not that the food is bad here, actually the food can be quite good but due to the high volume of people moving through the restaurant the service is compromised. When it's good it's fine but more often it's slow and inconsistent. I've been to Tratt a lot over the years as it was my mum's favourite cafe in Bondi for quite some time. She's moved on and found a new favourite cafe (Trio for those who were curious) and I've found it a little lacklustre each time I've been recently. While there's no beating an outdoor table here on a beautiful sunny day I think this cafe needs to try harder to be better.

Lindsay C.

Yelp
We chose to eat here al fresco and take in the fabulous view overlooking the beach. We had a lovely laid-back lunch - I had a delicious gnocchi dressed simply with a little butter and truffle oil, asparagus, porcini mushrooms and crispy sage leaves (the best!) accompanied by a nice shiraz. Great spot for a relaxed meal.

Carl I.

Yelp
What a great place! Ive had brunch and coffees and so far it been spot on every time! The view is outstanding and you can easily spend a couple of hours just looking at people ;)

Claire M.

Yelp
Incredible location and view. Perfect bruschetta and ligurian fish stew! Great atmosphere too :)

Rob L.

Yelp
Awesome atmosphere. Sat at the bar; bartender was great and food was great as well. Would totally go back next time I'm in Bondi.

Daniel W.

Yelp
Horrible service, rude staff. Didn't get all our food we order because staff are too rude to listen to customer....then was asked if I wanted to tip!

Yelp
We love the Trat! Best views , food always fresh and tasty. The staff have always been very professional. Highly recommended ,

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Friendly welcoming staff, fantastic food by chef Andy.. And a wonderful view to top it off! My Bondi fave for sure!!
