We stayed at the Bondy House B&B for five days in June, 2025. We were delighted as we found the hosts to be welcoming and accommodating. The weather was hot but the room stayed comfortable. All was as described in its website. We enjoyed a private entrance with a patio and a “widow’s walk” equipped with a table for two where we often shared a glass of wine in the evening. The B&B is close, but not too close to downtown Amherstburg, a delightful small town on the Detroit River with good restaurants, coffee houses, and some locations of historical interest, including Fort Malden made famous during the war of 1812. All within walking distance. |The hosts seemed to know everyone in town, so an enjoyable confab on the front porch in the evening as friends stopped by, was an unexpected pleasure. My husband and I felt welcomed by everyone we met, a pleasant surprise given the angst caused by some in the US, affecting our otherwise good relationship with Canada. In summary, our stay at the Bondy House B&B was wonderful and relaxing. We totally enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning.
