Very pleased with the food and service at the Bonefish Grill!
I am not a big fan of some seafood, especially some fish. I also try to stay away from the big chain restaurants. We had a gift certificate we had to use or lose before the end of the year, so that is what got us in the door. I have to admit the Bonefish Grill served us a couple of very good meals.
When I first walked in I thought wow this is a pretty classy looking place. Nice ambiance, white table cloths, waiters all dressed in chef style attire, and then I sat down and realized the tables were covered with vinyl table cloths and butcher paper. Smart move on the restaurant's part. Eating some types of seafood can get a little messy. It really is a nicely furnished, clean restaurant on the inside, though. It is above ordinary in providing a relaxing somewhat upscale atmosphere, especially for a big corporate restaurant chain.
My wife had the special; which was an Atlantic salmon filet on a cedar plank. The salmon was glazed with a maple orange sauce with cherries. It was perfect on the salmon. She had the rice and the vegetable of the day which was green beans. The beans were cooked perfectly. They had been lightly blanched just long enough to heat them well, but not so much that they lost the crisp fresh taste and texture. I have gotten to where I no longer like salmon, but I had to taste of this. The fish was mild in flavor and the glaze was the perfect finish.
I had the Cod Imperial. It was a large filet of cod, stuffed with shrimp, scallops, crab meat, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, and lemon caper butter. The lemon butter, with a little garlic and capers, went well with the shrimp, crab and mild tasting cod. I pared it with the Potatoes au Gratin and the fresh asparagus. Both were great sides. The asparagus was cooked as perfectly as the green beans. This was a very rich meal.
Service was very good!
