We went on a Saturday evening and didn't have to wait for table. The entire staff was friendly. Our server, Ian, was really great. The drinks came fast and the food was amazing! We had country fried chicken. The drink was a Jack Frost off the Christmas menu.

As a family of 4 with two little hungry daughters that eat like grown men, we were pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere, service, and food choices/quality at this restaurant. The staff greeted us and were very polite to accommodate our family on a busy Saturday evening. The head chef came to greet us to ask us about our experience and definitely delivered on the quality of the NY strip. Being from a small town, I would say this quality of food and service is a hidden gem compared to the cost of what other traditional restaurants are charging. Highly recommend.

Google
I have eaten here a total of 4 times I believe first 2 times amazing last 2 times not so much I had pork chops and they were very fatty the last time I had chicken and it was very rubbery in taste I would still go back

Google
This is a great place to eat. Portions are large prices are fair. Food tastes great. I highly recommend the haddock plater. But everything I've had from there is good. The starters are pretty good size also. If you have a lot of people in your party get the loaded nachos with brisket very good and comes on a large plater.

Google
The drinks are expertly made. They have an off-menu coffee drink sometimes that's pretty good, but the real star in my opinion is the espresso martini. I've had espresso martinis elsewhere that I thought all paled in comparison, although I did have a guest tell me that while delicious, it wasn't as good as their local favorite (I tried their local favorite, Boneshakers is better. Whatever. I'm just being honest). The menu items are good (looking at you elk burger!) but I order off the specials if I can. The kitchen does a fantastic job of keeping new delicious things rolling through and I've never been disappointed.

Google

We have ate at this restaurant 3 times over the last few years. The food has always been amazing and the staff has been great. The last 2 times we ate at the bar and the two bar tenders were awesome & entertaining. I highly recommend making the drive to Salem Ohio for this restaurant. The pictures I am sharing were from our last visit and a couple of these were on the specials menu. My friend and I both had the Lasagna. Huge portion which I took half of mine home and ate for lunch the next day. My wife had the salmon dinner and also loved it. Our appetizers were shrimp cocktail and another special, the blue fin crab chips & dip. Omg this dip was amazing! Not a drop left of that when we left!!! We will be back!!!!! Also, we visited this during the Salem Super Cruise when thousands of people and cars fill the city. Bone Shakers still provided amazing service despite being slammed with business! My only disappointment was my side salad. The portion was fine.... It was just OK. The meal itself is where it's at!

Google
Service is slow... one more time, service from the kitchen is slow. Took us about 2 hrs to finish a meal when the resturant was 30% full. Food is average. Breadsticks are good, salad is good. meats are dry, other parts lack flavor.

Yelp
We had family get together consisting of 24 , they were excellent at accommodating all of us. Everyone was pleased with their meals. The service was outstanding for a large group. The Steaks were top notch, those that had the walleye were amazed at how good it was.

Yelp
We were met by a teenager with an attitude who was a "Hostess". She couldn't have been older than 16 or 17. The dining room was nearly empty. A large table was seated near the kitchen, one booth on the bar wall with two people and a table in an small alcove with an elderly couple. We were seated in the small alcove next to the elderly couple! WHY? THE DINING ROOM WAS EMPTY!!! Our server comes out, we exchanged pleasantries and order. We both order a "Rib Eye". One medium with a baked potato and mine, medium rare with fries. We also requested 2 side salads! One with "sweet and sour", mine with "blue cheese". What we e received was 2 EXTREMELY small WARM, WILTED salads. My "blue cheese" was something other than blue cheese dressing. Kind of a cross between ranch and blue cheese. Then we get our steaks. The medium was well and the medium rare was medium well. Now this is a steakhouse right!? HOW can a steakhouse NOT KNOW HOW to properly cook a steak? The fries were so salty I couldn't eat them! *I NEVER send food back! EVER!!!) We only ate a third of our meals and requested a box. Then we get the check. WHAT THE ACTUAL FU**! We were charged $4 each for our SMALL, WARM, WILTED, SALADS!?!?!? This place is declining rapidly! The front teenage staff has attitudes and the back of the house has NO CLUE how to cook a steak or to NOT over season the fries. NOR do they know how to serve fresh salads that OBVIOUSLY were being OVER CHARGED for! My recommendations, STAY AWAY FROM BONESHAKERS! They apparently do not care what they're putting out BUT BY GOD, THEY'RE GOING TO CHARGE PREMIUM PRICES FOR THE SLOP they are putting out! The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because our server was polite and attentive

Yelp
Went there for a banquet first of all we didn't get everything we was suppose to get they were very slow it was supposed to be served at 6 but the food was not ready so we had go with the speakers first then when the food finally came out want with the wait we got paper thin sliced overcooked ham a tiny roll baby potatoes that were very good and a salad obviously from a bag and they completely forgot the green beans I'm not sure how much they charged but if it was 1 dollar a meal it was to much

Michael L.

Yelp
Food was excellent. The waiter, Chad was responsive and helpful. The price was reasonable. We will be back.

Dave H.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our time at Boneshakers. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great and the prices were reasonable. Plan to visit again

Yelp
Great food! Very clean and everyone is real nice! Had an over load of pasta, for my cheat day. Alfredo and then a full serving of Mac and cheese with crab in it. Now I'm eye balling the beautiful desert case they have! Pretty sure I'm getting the cookies and cream cake. Carly was our waitress, she's super friendly and knew the menu , perfectly. A must stop if you're in the area.

Yelp
Never thought to leave a review on yelp because it's a local restaurant that we go to often. Today was another great experience. Food was great atmosphere is nice and our server was awesome. We will definitely continue to visit this restaurant.

Albert M.

Yelp
Boneshakers is CLOSED-FINISHED-GONE. Quaker Steak & Lube is set to open there in the near future: A recent notice in the newspaper showed a transfer of the liquor license.

Yelp
Our server was most pleasant, helpful and bubbly. The food, well let me say that if Soph Paparodis were still alive he would be proud of what they've done with the old Timberlanes Restaurant. The locals should also be thankful that a Steak Destination has once again graced the city of Salem, Ohio.. Boneshakers is the new place to eat. To heck with the chain steakhouses. Eat local, keep your money local. This is the FIRST 5 star review I've ever given and for good reason. Sadly the Prime Rib is only served Friday and Saturday. None the less, the steaks are aged 35 days and all are Angus beef. You'd be a fool to miss out. If you're are in, around or passing through the Salem area, you have got to make Boneshakers a stop. I WILL BE BACK for more. THANK YOU for re-opening an old tri-county favorite. I truly wish you the best of luck...

Yelp
My wife and I tried boneshakers today. We had the brunch, the roast beef was seasoned nicely, the lasagna was really tasty. The omelette station is where I was truly impressed. Anyone can make an egg, but it takes finesse to make an egg properly the omelette I had was done to perfection. Now let's talk about service. Our server Paige was attentive, knowledgeable and very good at her job. The restaurant was clean, warm and inviting. As I said it was our first visit, but it will definitely not be our last. A great locally owned place.

Yelp
We went to Bone Shakers about 2 months after they opened on a Saturday at 4:00pm. The atmosphere and the meal was excellent...however, the service was awful! We waited 20 minutes on our drink order from the bar...was only 4 beers. We had to ask another waitress to get them for us. Since we were seated at a table in the bar area we felt the bartender could have brought them to us...they weren't very busy. When our meals came we were missing one. We asked the server (who was not our waitress) to please find out where the other meal was? She never returned and 15 minutes later we had to chase down our waitress to please get our other meal. When she brought it she said the server thought that because it was an appetizer she didn't think it belonged out with our meal...hmm shouldn't matter what the meal choice was...it was our meal. We politely told our waitress we were unhappy with the service and she said "I'm doing the best I can ". Never said she was sorry. Not sure we will go back. Too bad...because the food was very good.

Yelp
The food was disappointing. My steak was overcooked (ordered medium rare and received medium well). They did replace the steak and it was correctly prepared the second time. We also ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf which was dry. The meatloaf was smoked but didn't really taste like it. The fries were good; Cole slaw was also.

Marilyn S.

Yelp
Meh, just ok food, nothing special...salads are just ok, wings are just ok, pass on this place

Yelp
Mediocre food. Terrible service. Ordered the beet salad with NO bacon. It arrived with a pile of bacon that filled a soup bowl when I scraped it off. Having removed the bacon pile;Beet salad was okay, but pecans were just plain. Carmelizing would really give it a boost. Fish had zero flavor, just tasteless diappointing blob. The server had no clue what an Irish coffee was. Given instructions, she brought a teacup of coffee then later brought a small caraffe of Bailey's, for me to pour in. ? Asked for a take home box. Server literally tossed it on top of the trifold ad at the table near the wall of our booth. At the end of the meal, she came to inquire if I wanted water. The 14% tip was extremely generous under the circumstances. The bartender never stopped talking in run on sentences, very loudly, the entire time. Atmosphere was not comfortable or relaxing whatsoever. So, okay, we gave it a try. One and done. Will not return.

Yelp
We had the Easter Brunch and based on the food served I would not go back... maybe we will give it a dinner try?

Yelp
Great food, good prices, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Good parking, excellent desert selection.

Yelp
This place is a joke we have eaten in and the past 4 times has been take out. And tonight we decided to eat in. We got our drinks and made our order. We were sitting there and then some rude ass guy came up. Didnt even introduce himself and just rudely said that past 4 times u been here u havent tip well the past 4 times has been take out sorry didnt know I had to tip. Then he said well when u eat in it wasn't no tip well yes there was it just wasn't good enough. Didn't think they were aloud to come up to u and ask for money then we said were leaving cause that was rude and he was like fine you arent aloud back. What a joke the manger I guess is who it was should take a training class in how to talk to customers

Patty S.

Yelp
Had my daughters reception there and the food was amazing!!! Eric and his staff does a wonderful job of making you feel welcomed. Best wonton wrapped cheese sticks and loaded tater tots!!!

Larry P.

Yelp
If you want a descent loaded baked potato and good garlic rolls this is your place it is definitely not for there dry ribs only flavor they had was the bbq sause or 25 dollar flat no flavor rideye steak sad i am going to fork out 100 for a family of four and the food definitely not about the price if the food was actually good first time here and the last time.

Eileen C.

Yelp
Would have given it zero stars if it was possible horrible experience. Greasiest fatty Reuben sandwich that I ever had. Waiter never checked on us to see how our meal was. When he finally showed up to pick up the plates he asked how things were and when we told them it was the worst Reuben sandwich that we ever had he laughed and thought that was funny. We told him we were serious and he just kind of shrugged his shoulders. In retrospect I wish I'd ask for the manager and told him to take it off my bill. Oh well their mistake now we will never be back and we will tell our friends what a hideous dining experience we had.

Yelp
Ok, yes the food might not be top notch but it's also a bar so if you go in with those expectations you'll be okay. I was in town for a wedding and basically went to Boneshakers in any free time I had. My friends and I tried a lot of the apps from the late night menu. I also tried the Southwestern burger and the All American Breakfast at Sunday brunch. The burger definitely needed to be seasoned better. I wish they had the flank steak or rice pilaf that I wanted. The bacon at brunch needed to be crispier but overall it was fine. I live in Chicago so take this for what you will, but the alcohol prices are amazing (especially during deal times or with the 10% discount if you stay at the Stables hotel). Shots are normally $4-$5 when I am used to almost triple that! Above all, I'm tempted to give this place 5 stars for service. Everyone was extremely pleasant. Adam was on his game and I saw him remembering recurring customers' orders. Another bartender offered to come in almost an hour early to open up for the World Cup. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in Salem for a drink and looking for a place to relax.

Joseph T.

Yelp
I've been to Boneshakers twice. Food is great desserts terrific but the service is a little hit and miss. The first visit our waiter was very attentive but the second visit our waitress not so much. Hopefully my next visit I will get the first waiter again. lol

Robert S.

Yelp
I came in for dinner and will never be back. When we were seated someone walked by and saw we had last weeks specials. He took it and went to get a current menu. He never returned. It took forever for our server to come over to our table since he was standing at a table across the room eating. We order and again took forever to get our food but all the servers had time to joke around in the kitchen. The service was absolutely horrible. Our server as if we'd like dessert. We had not gotten our meal yet. Will never be back.

Travis S.

Yelp
Have eaten here several times, mostly we call in a to go order. Tried to dine in tonight, shortly after ordering some turd came up to our table and told us we dont tip good enough and that we were welcome to leave and that we cant come back. Have never been treated so poorly at restaurant in my life. It's a shame, the food was always good. To bad the guy running the show tonight was such a horrible tool.

Don T.

Yelp
The pork chop was outright delicious. They do a great job with all of their meats. To me, their burgers are good, but the high end cuts, like sirloin/strip/bone-in pork chop, are top notch. While I didn't have the salmon, someone that I was there with did and it looked great! I recommend it for lunch but highly recommend it for dinner.

David F.

Yelp
The juices that were injected into my body after I had the burger, had me feeling like I was born again, sort of like Jesus. My friend, Kyle gave me a bite of his flatbread, and I was like, woah bro, the seasoning made me feel like summer. Kyle is a good friend, I can tell him anything, we have known each other for a few years. We celebrated his birthday a few years and we drank alcohol and woah we felt good that night, not so good the next morning, but you know what alcohol can do to you

Jessica S.

Yelp
This place is a joke. We have gone inside a couple times and ordered out alot. The food is ok. But the older guy that I think was the manger. Literally came up to us and said u are not welcome here after we already ordered because we didnt leave enough of a tip for him the last time we were in. That is so wrong to come up to customers and say u dont leave enough of a tip after we have spend 100s ot doallrs there. Very very rude

Jane D.

Yelp
Went there tonight and the wings were horrible. Very small and overdone, definitely not the jumbo wings that is specified on the menu. Instead of 8 jumbo wings they were a bunch of tiny overdone tasteless wings. Will not be back.

Stacia W.

Yelp
All 3 meals ordered were not good or was wrong. The service was slow, and was uncaring about the dissatisfaction. The environment was beautiful though

Todd M.

Yelp
9-23-17 We had a 15 person dinner party and reservations for 6pm. We did not get seated until after 7pm. Did not get our food until after 8pm. Waitress tried her best but the kitchen didnt even have dinner rolls to bring out for everyone. The table of 15 was brought 2 baskets of 8 rolls for all. We never saw another roll the rest of the night. I ordered the ribs with a side of spagetti. When the food came the side of spagetti was crock pot johnny marzetti. Johnny Marzetti is not spagetti. The ribs were very tough, dry, I had to cut them with a steak knife to get the meat off the bone. Chef/ operator tried his best to make things right but I dont think we will be back. Everyone in our party was very disappointed with the experience. Some did say the burgers they got were good.

Michelle M.

Yelp
We had a 6 o'clock reservation for 16 and never got seated until after 7. We receive 9 roll for 16 people, they said they ran out and were baking more, never received . Meal came after 8. Ribs were dry and inedible. Most of food was good but poor service ruined event.

Coreen R.

Yelp
I'm not sure of the quality of the food and service at this restaurant typically, my review is only for a Murder Mystery dinner held here and served buffet style. I'm not a picky eater, however I must say the food was awful. Buffet consisted of salad, roll/butter, cheese/crackers, green bean casserole (all ok, but far from good and definitely cold) a corn dish (can't comment on cause was gone before our table was called), potatoes (best item served, but average at best) chicken (seasoned with something that had a very odd flavor to it and void of any juice--extremely dry and chewy) and some type of meat that was discolored in spots and looked like leather, roast beef maybe? I was too afraid to try it. For dessert; a white cake drizzled with chocolate topped with a strawberry, good concept but also dry, like it was cut and left sitting for several hours before serving. The show was amateur, but cute and entertaining. The cost was over $50.00 a person advanced/$65.00 at the door. WAY over what should have been charged. I felt bad, this was their first event of this type, the caterer/chef spoke at the end and said they will be having another since the attendance was so good, however.....feedback I overheard from guests is that those there will not be returning as food quality wasn't up to what was expected for the cost and they ran out of some items before all were served.
