"Named after the Spanish word for “pretty,” this beachfront park lives up to its moniker. Located just south of Fort Myers Beach, Bonita Beach tends to be quieter, drawing a laidback crowd and lots of families. Rather than hotels or resorts, actual homes line the shores. When you visit, head straight to the park, which functions as an undeveloped oasis on the southern tip of the beach. There are grills and tables so pack a picnic, then spend some time on the playground or sand volleyball court."

Very Beautiful beach. The parking fills up quick so arrive early on the weekends. It’s very hot during the summer so bring shade. They rent paddle boards nearby

Google
Great stretch of beach. There is plenty of parking and not overcrowded. Be sure to check out Doc's Beach House for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, just steps away from the water.

One of my favorite beaches here! Water was so clear today, it was beautiful.

Google
Could be really nice beach but there appears to be some construction going on at this access point via Beach access #9. There we also a lot of dead fish washed up along the shore line but that didn't stop others from getting in the water.. no thanks

Stephanie Reed

Google
Nice small beach area next to a restaurant. Limited paid parking so get there EARLY! Loved the shelly beach. Men came to play volleyball. Chill people mostly at the beach.

Google
Absolutely beautiful beach!! My husband and I loved it here❤️😍!! Parking is cheap. $2 an hour! There are shells everywhere🐚

Google
It's a great place to take the family, simple, easy. It'd be nice if there was more parking, but there's always something that could be better

Had an amazing time. Beautiful relaxing day. It wasn’t crowded. Water was great.

Yelp
Tony and I stopped at Bonita Springs Beach FL on our way back to our AirBNB at Siesta Keys! Free parking and lovely White beach but like Nokomis Beach it was a lot of Crushed Shells! Tons of Seashells for us collectors and gatherers! We had a lovely visit! Water was so warm like a tipid bath water! Definitely recommend going here it was less busy as the other beaches! Yelp
Parking for Bonita Beach is horrendous. The parking accesses along the road hold maybe 4-6 cars and are always full and the parking lot at the public beach never has available spaces. In a week of trying to find parking we found it once.

Yelp
Beautiful are just gorgeous and sad the hurricane completely destroyed it however the rebuilding is really going well. So well that some of these rich people have nothing better to do than act like a Karen. This morning I went for a sunrise walk with my dog when a lady came out and said every home owns the beach lot in front of it and they can call the cops to complain about my dog. Dear entitled rich old woman, you are incorrect. You do not own the beach except for 40 feet and I was in the water. IN THE WATER walking the shoreline, so mind your business. The rich folks are the disease here.

Yelp
If you come during the week in the off season, it's so easy to find parking along the strip on Bonita beach. Each parking lot has about 6 spots and we always got lucky/found parking in the first couple of lots. The sand is so fine and white and the water is so clean and beautiful. We love this beach so much. It's absolutely a go to! The walk from the free parking to the beach is steps away which makes it easy to bring lots of stuff!

Yelp
If you like tents all over and you don't care that someone sets it up right in front of you then this is the place for you. All of the beaches are like that really. Actually it's very beautiful. It's my favorite one. I just wanted it all to myself

Yelp
I like this little beach. Now its 67 & Monday but there was no one there. The sand is a little browner than fort myers beach but the water is also a little bluer. There are an abundance of shells and free parking if you hit one of the access points. Now there is no bathrooms at these small access points. Also no dogs or alcohol on the beach but if that stuff doesn't bother you check it out. It is a clean beach check it out. Tip there are paid lots with bathrooms also available.

Yelp
I can't believe some people would say "this isn't the prettiest beach I've been to". What?! Every time I come here the water is crystal clear and baby blue. The entry way always makes me gasp. It looks like something from a movie. I've stopped going to Naples beach. Bonita beach is where it's at. It's not only beautiful but empty. Every time I've gone there are very little people. You can bring your rods and fish. Make sure to bring your cast net to catch bait! There's tons of bait in the shore line. I was able to catch some monster mullet in order to make mullet dip. Overall, a beach is all about the way it makes you feel. Bonita beach is beautiful, quiet, and a total gem. I'm obsessed with this beach.

Yelp
Any beach to me is a good beach. I did not stay long - I scoped it out for a few seconds before I shelled out (get it?) anything for parking... (Pay To Park Machine) The beach was super windy that day so I decided to head somewhere else for more shelter. Love the shells all around the sandy areas and it appeared to be pretty clean. It was surely, Bonita.

Yelp
Private beach located in Bonita Springs, we went at the end of December. Because it's a private beach it wasn't packed at all. Beautiful day in the low 70s this beach was very clean and our experience was great. Views were awesome!
google avatar

Abigail W.

Yelp
If you're lucky enough to get to this beautiful beach early, there's a good sized parking lot right near the beginning path to the beach. The sand is soft, the shells are gorgeous, and I love the little huts they have for families that want some shade and a picnic table to sit at. The bathroom rooms are clean, the outside 'shower' for a quick rinse was easy to access. Bring your chair, sunglasses and come to relax.

Eliana S.

Yelp
Very Relaxing and beautiful! Highly recommend for a fun beach day!! Walk the beach for some great shells too!

Yelp
Beach access points are excellent. Private and clean. You have the beach pretty much to yourself .

Yelp
Beautiful beach on the gulf coast We came to enjoy some beach time and it really is a beautiful place. The views are breathtaking, the water is clear (although cold when we were here - mid-March) and they have good, clean amenities like bathrooms and showers. The negatives are that parking is VERY difficult to find depending on when you arrive. And the beach, being such a popular location is crowded. It's not quite wall to wall people but it's "close quarters"; more than suits my comforts. I would imagine that gulf coast braces are all fairly similar. This one was clean and beautiful and checks nearly all the boxes. As mentioned - parking and tight quarters are the only downsides. Having said that - it's still a great beach with beautiful views.

Yelp
Beaches are heaven on earth for me. I could live by the beach and spend my days at the beach and never tire of it. While Bonita Beach is not of the the most gorgeous beaches in Florida (I've been to quite a few), it is a lovely spot to slip off your shoes, walk along the shoreline and watch nature in action. Parking is ample, the sand isn't too hot, and there is an abundance of wildlife in the area. You'll see turtle nests that are roped off, dolphins swimming not too far from shore and pelicans diving for fish. This is a very well maintained, clean beach with a decent array of shells to add to your collection. You can walk the shoreline easily and get lost in the sound of the waves. Be careful, though, as the sun gets pretty intense and you'll burn before you even realize it. A great beach that provided for multiple enjoyable mornings. Get here early (before 9 AM) for, in my opinion, the best experience.

Yelp
Though the parking here is still pretty terrible, this beach has some fantastic shelling after the storms and high tide because of a full moon. Because of the lack of parking, that actually helps keep too many people away from this particular beach.

Yelp
I am just concluding a month's stay in Bonita Beach. I stayed in a rented condo with private beach access so I have nothing to say about the public access parking or amenities but I'll tell you what: This place is paradise. It's July so it's low season: no headaches driving anywhere, no lines or waiting, no crowds. My stretch of private beach is very quiet, very clean, and breathtakingly gorgeous. Sunrises and sunsets are stunning. The water temperature ranges from nice and cool to quite hot - depends on whether it stormed the night before and what's happening way out in the Gulf. The ocean is constantly producing surprises: one day the water is full of starfish, the next you'll find a live conch (be sure to leave them in the water!), the next there will be living sand dollars everywhere. During the course of my month here I fell in love with Little Hickory Island and Bonita Beach. I literally can't wait to return. It's a magical place.

Yelp
This beach was an absolute gem!!! We stayed pretty close to it and knew nothing about it, the hotel we stayed at recommended it and I'm sure glad they did!!! The beach is absolutely gorgeous, has a restaurant and water sports available and parking was also easy. I will definitely return here with my family we had the best time just relaxing, looking for shells, swimming, I highly recommend it!
google avatar

Yelp
I just love this beach. Soft sand. Family friendly. Great waves. And the best sunsets! This year there is definitely more sand than usual. Locals tell me it's because of storms in other places bringing more sand our way. I'll take it! If you pay attention, you can catch dolphins swimming/feeding, pelicans diving for fish, and people kite fishing. It's easy to stay here for the whole day with the family. But be sure to come for the sunsets, too. They really put on a spectacular show.

Yelp
Many beaches in Florida are gorgeous. Bonita Beach is definitely one of those. During the week there seems to be plenty of parking in the private lot but not so sure how many cars that lot would hold on a weekend when it's bound to be busier. This beach has it all. You can rent chairs, wave runners and numerous other items to make your day at the beach more enjoyable or you can bring your own. Doc's Pizza is right there so you can even have lunch or a drink and watch the sunset. It's a beautiful beach with lots of shells. We enjoyed it.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Love the parking here, the restrooms, and there is even a play land for kids, parking is only $2 per hour and very close to the beach. Unfortunately there are tons of shells over the sand here and the water was cloudy with small fish in it swimming around. People behaved themselves and there was lots of room to plop down your beach towels and chairs. There is a pizza place nearby.
google avatar

Robbie C.

Yelp
Yet another beautiful non touristy beach that I hesitate to review for selfish reasons. Parking is somewhat limited but love that it is so close to the water. Parking fee is $2 per hour. They have several sheltered picnic areas with grills. Awesome sunset views! The water was actually warmer than the Caribbean Sea which I was at a few weeks ago. The sand is mostly smooth cept for a few shelly areas so u may want to have water shoes with you. Located next to Docs Beach house if you need refreshments or can rent jet skis from. But let's just keep this one between you and me ;)

Yelp
I love taking my dogs to the dog beach because they get a different environment other than the usual dog parks. We have been A LOT and it is usually very relaxing, especially when there aren't a ton of people there because that's when the problems start. The past two times have been horrific and I hesitate to bring my precious pups back there. The last time we went there were two dog fights caused by an aggressive Australian Shepard and then ended up getting into a human fight! It was insane. The other times include bougie frat guys getting drunk and not watching over their crazy dogs that instigate fights. It honestly just depends on where you go because if you go during the week on off season, it's quiet and close to paradise. Pass on weekends if you don't want to see dog fights.

Yelp
I brought my kids here on a whim for a total of 15 minutes. I really wish we could have stayed longer but our travel plans just wouldn't permit it. The beach was clean and peaceful. Small puddles were evidence of a small daily shower. We walked very briefly up and down the beach a caught a glimpse of a small stingray in the clear water. I would definitely go back if I ever had the chance.

Kadi N.

Yelp
This beach was amazing! It was completely free, and parking wasn't hard to find. The beach was full with dogs, and all of them were well trained. There wasn't any trash, or poop on the ground. My dog had a blast. All of the dogs wanted to play, and there was a lot of space for him to run. Even if you don't have a dog you are welcome to stop by. The place has a very good vibe and if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stop by again.

Yelp
What a difference from Fort Myers Beach. Park near beach access one. Huge bathroom area, showers, playground plus a bar and restaurant. The water is beautiful and the main difference is that it isnt touristy. You wont find t-shirt shops or spring breakers here just a piece of paradise. My favorite beach!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Gorgeous beach. Showers. Changing area. Flush toilets. Paid parking. Hot dog stand. Restaurant with wave runner rentals at beach. Great cage across street. White powdery cool sand. Great shells. Nice crowd. Volleyball net. Great sunsets. Chairs and umbrellas for rent. Free use of life jackets but they're all gone. Picnic tables. Kids play area. Bike rack. Open 7 am to dusk.
google avatar

Marissa C.

Yelp
A beautiful beach - nice powdery sand, tons of wildlife and shells. There were lots of birds, including some very friendly snowy egrets that "posed" for photos, and we had several sightings of dolphins. We watched the sunset several evenings from here - it was a great view. We found it to be a very relaxing place and great for walking.

Yelp
This beach is perfect for many reasons. One, I live here. Two, it is beautiful. Bonita Beach (Little Hickory Island) is home to several thousand people, minimal condos and only a few commercial prosperities (a few restaurants, marina, etc). The houses along the beach are beautiful and there are huge condos or hotels like many other beaches in FL. It is truly paradise and I wouldn't trade it for anything. The water temp in the summer can be anywhere from the 80s to the 90s. In the winter, it can be anywhere from the 70s to the 60s (low 60s aren't real common but have been seen the past two years due to the unusually cold weather). The water is clear and can be anywhere from blue to green. During the peak of rainy season, the water can become darker and turbid but this is due to fresh water draining into the Gulf from the rivers and Estero Bay. The beaches along the island are white sand. If you are in the area it is definitely a beautiful place to visit.

Monica C.

Yelp
Great beach. Best part is you can park your car, walk a few feet and you are on the sand! They have nice and clean restrooms and picnic tables. Plus there is a person selling hot dogs and snow ones. A few feet away is a restaurant and you can also rent wave-runners ($70 for 30 minutes). The only negative is parking is small lot.

Joanne M.

Yelp
Bonita Beach is a well-kept secret. It is beautiful, the water is clear, and the cost to park is minimal. Nice place to go and spend the day.
google avatar

Lee Z.

Yelp
One of our favorite beach to go to. But this weekend was the fist time I've seen the water slowly changed its color from green to brown. Someone said it's the runoff from the lake nearby due to the heavy rain. Needles to say, I ddint go in the water. But I do like the area and amenities there
google avatar

Dawn C.

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite beach. Crystal clear water during our stay at the end of May. Manatees will occasionally swim by, which causes a small heart-attack at times when you see a large dark shadow swimming towards you. Found the shelling to be just as lovely if not more than Sanibel. For the most part the beach is clean except for rare occasions when you find a stray piece of trash. Not crowded even on the busiest days - always able to find a little slice of heaven off by ourselves. I can't speak to parking since we walked everyday from our rental. Locals always willing to stop & chat as well as recommend. Love it here!

Leslie R.

Yelp
I Love Lowder milk Beach Park been going there since I am 5 years old and been in Naples FL 38 years it's home

Yelp
It's a wonderful beach with A lots of gorgeous scenery, beautiful homes and beautiful waterways the mangroves and the fishing is something to read a book about. There's just not a lot of parking and I guess that's by design but to me Bonita Beach is just fine!
google avatar

Justice T.

Yelp
We enjoyed a beautiful, hot, sunny day here recently. It was a Wednesday the first week of school so it was pretty quiet. Parking was easy and at $2 per hour not a bad price. The beach was beautiful, water was warm and clean. We rented an umbrella from Doc's and got waters from the vendor in the parking lot. We had an amazing day and kept extending our time on the parking meter. A beautiful beach that you must visit!
google avatar

Eric E.

Yelp
Very nice beach, a little on the "shelly" side so you may want to wear sandals

Love Garrity T.

Yelp
Great beach! Lots of wildlife, soft sand, beautiful views, and super relaxing. Early in the morning we saw dolphins really close to the beach. I couldn't get enough of this place. There is free beach access parking but it's very limited, so there is a good chance you will park at a metered spot. Stop at Doc's while you are there and grab a bite to eat or rent a jet ski. Can't wait to go back!

Shannon K.

Yelp
Loved this beach. Docs was awesome and so was Bonita jet ski rentals. Not too busy this time of year. Drive up the street to see some awesome beachside houses.

Jo C.

Yelp
THE best place to relax in Florida. Quiet, wildlife abounds, natural beaches. You can be as quiet and alone as you'd like or get out and have plenty of nightlife. www.porches.weebly.com

Frank B.

Yelp
Over priced clam shack with crappy food at outrageous prices. And one old sour puss bartender that should have quit 30 years ago. Worst night of our stay.Terrible service ,they don't even try because their on the beach and have you hostage. But go down the street and any other place is an improvement.$14.00 pitchers of beer that only hold 4 8 oz glasses ! $24.000 under cooked crap pizza.get the drift?
google avatar

Lori H.

Yelp
one of the best beaches i know. i love the sand, the shells, and the surf.

Dave C.

Yelp
Nice beach. Don't waste your time at the "worlds famous dogs " they'll probably not have any hot dogs somehow.

Ed V.

Yelp
The Bonita beach and tennis club. Worst experience ever in 10+ yrs coming to sw Florida. Unit BT5006 - bldg 5, 10th floor right next to the trash chute. Major roach infestation - like 2" long ones. Come back from dinner and there they are on the floor when the lights are turned on. Just imagine were they are at in the middle of the night. The unit has a view, that is it. The unit was dirty, furniture old with stains, the mattress have no support with likely bed bugs. Royal Shell would not address the roach problem or the leaky bath or even the cleanliness - a pathetic mgmt company. Royal Shell employee Leona Martin would not address our issues, never picked up the phone, she just hides behind email. We were even promised a refund that we never got. Hows that for management! Her response was that we should expect roaches, as they are a part of Florida. Not in the condo, in my bed, in my luggage, in my clothes, crawling over the plate, forks, glasses, across the counter top. Roaches carry salmonella. Maybe that explains my wife's trip to the urgent care for "food poisoning". Do yourself a favor and find another place, and stay away from Royal Shell and the beach and tennis club. A lack of pest control, a dirty condo a poor mgmt company and just incompetent employees equals a bad trip.
