By far one of the cleanest, quietest and most peaceful campgrounds we have experienced. The bathrooms were clean and smelt good. The camp site was extremely spacious. Camp hosts were very friendly and very helpful. Only downside was we had to leave and get back to reality.

Beautiful place.very refreshing and comfortable, extremely quiet and didn't have any problems with wildlife. The restrooms were always clean, fresh smelling and supplied with hand soap, toilet paper and paper towels. Would highly recommend this Campground for the whole family

Nicely spaced, paved campsites that are mostly level. Potable water spigots are available at the restrooms but no spigots to fill RV tanks. These are all dry camp sites with no hookups. Tent camping is available. The campground is located within a grove of ponderosa pines and is one of the cleanest campgrounds we’ve ever been to. Everything from the fire pits to grills are spotless. The restrooms are equally clean and surpass any truck stop restroom. The hosts, Frank and Sandy were exceptional. Friendly, extremely helpful and always cruising the park keeping things organized like a well tuned machine. The pull through sites are narrow. They’re fine if your rig doesn’t have slides but staying on the pavement without sending your slides into traffic can be difficult. $34 a night for dry camping and no RV Dump leans a little to the high side but the quiet cleanliness of this place closes the gap. In fact, we stayed an extra day because it was so nice and yes, we’d stay here again! My only complaint is Recreation.gov continues to be a hot mess. It shows pretty much everything sold out yet when you’re in the park, it’s a far cry from capacity. I feel sorry for the hosts updating the posts on a continual basis just to watch the site go unoccupied. It needs to be fixed or just make all the sites first come, first served with a 14 day maximum limit.

Beautiful location, clean restrooms, and kind hosts. I enjoyed the concrete picnic table and pad. We did a FF spot and lucked out, there were a few open spots when we arrived around 9 pm. Will visit again given the opportunity.

Google
Truly off the grid boondocking. No water was available to fill up rv fresh water tank. Nice clean restroom and a water spicket to fill up a 5 gallon water container. Camp host were very nice. Pull through was just large enough for our 18 foot travel trailer and truck. The back in spots where big enough for a large motor home. Bueatiful area to rest and relax.

Google
A very lovely and quite campground operated by the National Forest organisation. We booked our site in advance just to be on the safe side. Some sites are available only on a first-come-first-safe basis. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed it. Nestled in a forest with mature trees .... and cooler temperatures during the night.

Yelp
We stay here for four nights during the week of Memorial Day (May 24-27, 2024), site was 44, which is a pull in drive way, fit a trailer and a sedan. (Keep in mind there is a fee for a second vehicle.) Not to far from the restroom ( the cleanest restroom there is) the host really take care of the place, has a facet for cleaning or getting water ( just don't wash your dishes there, not allow) Be ware if ya'll are heading in the summer, there was a few yellowjacket and wasp, we brought a trap to prevent getting strung, didn't get strung but get one if you needed. There were a couple of flies, friend got a fly trapper too so took care of that. When we went, there weren't mosquitos but again, we got a spray and sprayed just in case. I had t-mobile and there wasn't any signal, but if you drive out of the campground, you get signal right away. The site was pretty decent, you can put two tents and have a lot of room, fire pit was pretty deep, a nice concrete picnic table and trees all around; which you can bring a hammock and tied around the truck. Across of the site was the Sunset Crater Visitor Center that leads you to the Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, worth the drive and visit, there's a few view spots that you can bring food to have a picture and the views are just spectacular. This site is about an hour and forty-five minutes away from the Grand Canyon, about thirty minutes away from Flagstaff for your grocery needs. They don't have showers here but I recommend ya'll to shower at Little America Travel Center (2515 East Butler Ave, Flagstaff, AZ 86004) showers were only $15.00 (tax included) and they have a freaking bathtub with a separate shower. You have an hour to take a shower or bath, they provide with one towel, hand towel and a mat towel. Especially after a long day at the Grand Canyon, a much needed shower that last more than thirty minutes is great. I hope this reviews helps to anyone that is planning a trip there.

Yelp
I had a great experience here! We were able to secure the last FCFS spot (campsite 1) at around 3:45pm on a Saturday over Memorial Day weekend. The camp hosts, Sharon and Russ were awesome! Great conversation and they were eager to help us with whatever we needed. The campsites themselves were extremely clean and well kept! It had a perfect area for our tent. This campground location is perfect to check out Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument and is only a bit above Flagstaff. The national monument road is open 24/7 so you can venture in afterhours when there aren't a lot of people. They encourage you to view the nightsky from inside the park but viewing from the comfort of your campsite is just as good! The bathrooms were very clean and everyone was quiet/respectful during night hours. We would absolutely stay here again if ever in the area.

Yelp
The campground is very conveniently placed next to Sunset Crater Volcanic National Monument. It's a beautiful campground with lots of space in each site. Campground hosts were very nice. Spotty AT&T signal.

Yelp
Beautiful level shaded sites. Well spaced. Fire rings. 3 restrooms with flushing water and Hand sanitizers. Wood and ice available for purchase. Helpful and friendly camp hosts who keep the campground and bathrooms pristine. Definitely a cut above. Hiking , fishing and crater site nearby.

Yelp
Wow, what a sweet campground! My wife and I camped here earlier this summer and found this to be a really great location. The scenery is beautiful - huge pine trees (which provide some shade), squirrels, birds, impressive black lava flows and cinder hills and, of course, the amazing volcanoes themselves. We were there in late June, and the campground was only about 1/3 of the way full, so it was pretty quiet and peaceful, and easy to get a good spot. The restrooms were, well, campground restrooms...but kept clean and well-maintained, as far as campground restrooms go. The camp host sells firewood and ice, and if you forget something really essential, Flagstaff is only about 30 minutes away. The climate was great too: late June = low 80's in the day, low 60's at night. But, heads up - it gets breezy, so STAKE YOUR TENT DOWN or you'll regret it later! We staked our tent down like we always do, and had no problems whatsoever; the people in the site across from us didn't...and had their tent flipped over and their tarp end up in some bushes about 100 yards away! Added bonus: Walnut Canyon National Monument, Wupatki National Monument, Meteor Crater, and the Lowell Observatory, are all within about a 30 - 60 (+/-) minute drive!

Yelp
Friendly host, clean bathrooms, beautiful area, awesome evening event from a NPS ranger! What more could you want?

Yelp
Campground & hosts were wonderful. NOISE POLLUTION: The allowed generators & loud stereo music/continuous barking pet dog was unbearable. The campground evacuated quite quickly the next morning greeting the same allowed inconsiderate noises. It seems that a Day Time Noise Code (not just night time) should arise to respect the other majority of campers who come to visit these areas of natural splendor. Our wild & scenic areas should be greeted with respect of the natural surroundings. Stay home in your man made subdivisions if you want to add your noise pollution! Not in an area of amazing wonder.

Yelp
Nice campground with a lava flow on the north side. We stayed in a tent and tried to pick a quiet, level site. We ended up with one that had a slight slope and was in the middle of the north section. The restrooms were fairly clean, though no paper towels. There is no electric. The lava flow was a great place to hike and you can see sunset crater from the east end of the campground. I think $22 a night is a bit overpriced for what you get but it was a quiet location right outside sunset crater. Don't miss Walnut Canyon if you go to Flagstaff!

Yelp
We recently spent 2 nights at Bonito Campground and were very impressed by the service provided by the campground hosts from Recreation Resource Management. They were efficient and friendly, offered lots of advice on nearby attractions, directed people to the campsites best suited to them, and even went out of their way to help families set-up their tents and shade structures. They were on the job day and night and went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a pleasant stay.

Yelp
Love this campground. Camped for two nights in early June. So clean & well cared for. Hosts are two couples- both were very helpful, welcoming, friendly & dedicated to taking care of each site quickly after campers had departed. Lovely sites, close to great hiking. Will definitely return. Wish all campground hosts were like these couples.

Yelp
This spot is ideal. Beautiful atmosphere in quiet part of woods about 20 minutes outside of Flagstaff. Good spot to be close to city as well as national monuments. Meticulously maintained campground with friendly and helpful camp hosts.

Yelp
Gorgeous stars. Found from the Flagstaff Dark Skies Coalition: http://www.flagstaffdarkskies.org/international-dark-sky-city/dark-skies-in-and-around-flagstaff/ And if you show up at 11pm and wake up at 3:30, you might not even have to pay. :) #shhhh

Yelp
I love camping, I didn't know there was a campground there, till I saw the tents.... well , we have stayed here few times very nice and quite. Love the space around your campsite. I love the small amphitheatre and the Rangers involve the kids about nature. Walking around the Lava Flow is fun but dangerous sharp edges. NIce place to trail walking by the Volcano with the kids. Don't forget to take some water you can actually feel the heat when walking around the cinder rocks.

Yelp
The usual campground host is fabulous. The campsite is scenic and bathrooms are clean. I used to love this campground. Then a belligerent substitute campground host (the male host was belligerent, the female host was pleasant) on the weekend of 9/29 - 10/1 ruined our trip, and he was so aggressive that I will likely not be back. He twice accused me speeding like it was a "racetrack". I was apologetic both times, knowing full-well that I was not (he'll likely say he has witnesses, I know that I have at least one other than myself), figuring that would calm him down. The first time it did calm him down. The second time was when we were 15 minutes late after checkout time. It was so windy that we were having a hard time finishing up cooking and packing our stuff to leave. He pulled up in his golf cart and marched over to me yelling "Do you know what time it is?!" I replied yes and started to explain our difficulties but he sharply cut me off mid-sentence and said that Checkout was at 11:00 and that I had better not speed when I left because he saw me speeding through the campground the night before. That was simply false but I said, "I was? My apologies, I was watching my speedometer!" He said "Yes you were! This is a campground not a racetrack! Get out!" and turned around and sped off in his golf cart. I got out ASAP and I went 3 MPH out of the campground because I was concerned that he was going to call the police. If I know that the usual host will be there, I would consider staying again, but if I show up and it's this substitute host, I'm thinking he will call the police on me and make up a lie to get me arrested.
