Would not recommend the restaurant. Waited 30 minutes between the first and second appetizer and than 30 min until the first dish and another 30 until the second etc When the issue was reported to the manager he responded arrogantly saying it was normal and didn’t try to resolve constructively the problem. Very bad hospitality although the place looks nice and food isn’t bad. But it ruined the whole experience.

Dear Bonkis, every piece of your team made our stay/ vacation wonderful. The welcome was very warmhearted, room very cozy (thanks to Heidi for extra coffee🥰), big thanks to Maxim and Michael - you made us feel like queens in every situation, and were so helpful all the time.(cycles, etc.) This is really the perfekt place to stay at the coast, if you like quality, good food, nature. We could not recommend a better place at the Belgien coast. The sight, the dunes, the ocean, delicious food, beer brewed in Middelkerke - everything was perfekt. A seafood restaurant like only Belgians have the secret for. Great assortment of cold and warm options, some traditional very well executed and some delicious unconventional options. The wine list is short but well chosen. Already a favorite when coming to the coast.

This review is about the restaurant. All day open, no reservations accepted. I was a bit worried whether we will find a table but luckily the place keeps a nice flow of customers coming and going. The service polite. The food is good, and the portions in relation to prices are very correct and big. As for quality-price ratio, again very correct, tasty and worth your visit. Remember though you are on the coast, so the final bill, will be within “what’s normal” to be charged. I have no complaints over the food in general. We had a generous portion of bouillabaisse (without the rillettes), the catch of the day, the crab gratin and shrimp croquette. The fish succulent and beautifully prepared. For dessert the tiramisu with a good cream and generous amount of liquor. My objection on the flow of the dishes; I understand this is a “share-dishes” style of dining, there should be a rhythm of how to serve the dishes. You cannot bring out everything at the same time. This stressed me slightly, as I did not want to eat my fish cold. My second observation on food itself, is the “patatas bravas” dish. It is a modern deconstructed take on the classic, where you need to pour over the sauce. The odd thing is the fried parsley and feta crumbles and next to the bravas sauce there also a pot of tartar? sort of sauce. Being a Greek and eating feta with everything, I still could not get the whole combination. It certainly did not match my tasting buds and honestly, when I order patatas bravas, I want this. Nothing else. As for the setting, it is modern, in beige/sandy colour tones and together with the deco-theme of being on a island/beachfront place, it brings the good vibes. Last but not least, toilets are on the basement, accessible through stairs ( -1). When arriving you are met with a loud sounds - which appeared to be the broadcast of a sports event! Initially, I thought it was sounds of the see near by. How romantic of me?! The second time I visited the loo, I realise that had nothing to do with sea waves as there was someone constantly speaking loud! it was so off putting. If anything were to happen down there, like falling or needing help for whatever reason, no one would hear you. Crazy. Would I return? Yes, to the restaurant but not to the toilet. :-)

Used to be a very cool old place now run by imagine who, the location is made for margins. It will hopefully return to normal shortly. The name says it all.

Located at a stones throw from the beach, amidst the dunes, this place offers trendy but good quality dining. Prices mirror the feel of the place but it is still worth the visit. The shrimp croquettes are to be recommended. Parking is available a little further down the road ( public parking ). It is advisable to make reservations for the restaurant is quite busy.

We had the best meal of our holiday here. Great food, wine, service and vibes. Worth the wait if you can. No reservations and some days aren't open at all. They will close the 'books' so speak if they're too busy, we had to try twice to get a table. We went early!

👌Highly recommend!! As they say in Dutch : " Boenk der op", excellent place for great food! Fresh fish, high quality food! Sharing concept works well, great servers. Sharing is caring, well executed. Price / quality ratio is on spot, can be a bit busy but worth the wait.
