Google
Food was pretty good, but prices were outrageous. It is in the airport, but before security, so i would expect some relaxation from normal airport outrageousness. Small side ceaser was 12 dollars. It was not fancy whatsoever. Worst part was we found out the overpriced espresso martini of $16 on the menu was actually $20 when the bill arrived. Server did not correct the price on the bill either, it was just matter of fact. Management - this is illegal, so if you change prices often you may want to train your servers to handle this situation properly - indicating actual prices when someone orders so they know the actual price - if they forget they need to take it off the bill to match the menu price. Or you can manually update your menus if you are really cheap (doesn't look professional). You can use my $4 towards a proper menu reprint.

I recently had the pleasure of being served by Billi Jo at Book & Bourbon, and she absolutely deserves a five-star review. From the moment I sat down, her warm, welcoming presence made the experience exceptional. Billi Jo’s knowledge of bourbon is impressive—she guided me through a perfect selection that suited my taste, sharing fascinating insights about each pour. Beyond her expertise, her attention to detail and ability to anticipate my needs made me feel like a VIP. She balances professionalism with a friendly demeanor, making the bar feel both upscale and inviting. If you’re ever at Book & Bourbon, do yourself a favor and ask for Billi Jo. You won’t be disappointed!

Google
Kayla is the only bartender and server on Saturday, she’s super friendly and makes a great old fashioned! The eggs anyway is a great way to start your day and if your looking for a good mimosa also had one with my meal. I’ll be sure to come by every time I’m in Louisville airport !

Google
Ordered fries and a bowl of chili. After 35 minutes, it never came. No one asked if we needed anything or spoke to us after delivering or drinks. Thee absolute worst place to visit. Better off waiting to leave the terminal. I would give ZERO stars if able

Trey C.

Google
I was surprised that the chicken and waffles were really lacking flavor and taste. The chicken breast was huge and was very very chewy. It was bland and needed something else. I’ve had plenty of chicken and waffles at restaurants in Kentucky and this one was not up to par and I do not recommend.

Google
Awesome bar to drink and eat in while you wait to get on your flight! Loved the ambiance and decor of the place. I ordered the “old fashion” from the drink menu! It was yummy! For a not a bourbon drinker. Great food and desert. Not many in desert choices but the waffle ice cream was amazingly delicious! Sandy our server was super helpful and friendly!

Aziza L.

Google
Waffles were SAVORY. Chicken did not have any rememberable flavor. Too much oil on plate from chicken being fried; definitely cooked skillfully. Surely warrants trying other dishes on menu. Vegetable platter delicious. ~ Happy Eating ~

Google
I got there 1 hour befre closing so l received a small sample size of the service, l only had 2 overpriced drinks. But the restaurant looked to have a cozy, relaxing vibe. But one lady really wanted us to leave turning off the television and music before 8pm and before l finished my drink. RUDE!! But l understand airport clientele is not repeat clientele. But a very nice Looking establishment.

Yelp
Great service and food! Perfect place to rest before a flight. Get the old fashioned!

Yelp
I wish I took a picture of the burger! We had a long flight and we had to stop for food. We picked this place and sat down for a drink and food. The old fashion was delicious! The burger was surprisingly great! It was by far actually the best burger we had in Louisville. It was crisp with fresh veggies and hardly any grease. We ordered one burger (to spilt) and the server/kitchen was kind of enough to cut it in half and serve us separate plates. As a first timer to Louisville, our vacation started here and made us have high expectations for the rest of the trip.

Yelp
Service was excellent. Restaurant was clean and convenient located just outside security at the airport. Fries were hot and the bourbon sauce was yummy. Wings were very small for $18.95. Had to order a salad to make it a meal.

Yelp
@HMS Host Let me save you the trouble. The website cites a decent menu but when you sit down to the actual menu and even the table-top menus; none of them exist. Staffing non-existent as I approached to find a person waiting at the host stand for 5mins so I opted to walk in and find a human. Turns out that was staff member 1 of 2. I understand everybody is having challenges hiring but that's no excuse for hiding in the kitchen when the bar has only 2patrons. I couldn't help but ask why the bourbon wings were $11.95 on the website and $18.95 on the printed menu; we have no control over any of that, was my response. So if I'm managing this place and my printed menu is half of the website offerings and the pricing is different I would probably bring that up with leadership. Or is that just me?? Feels like a bait and switch game! Eat before you get to this airport! (Louisville Airport, I forgot to mention)

Yelp
Came in here for dinner after my flight landed starving. I was quickly seated, it wasn't busy for it being 5PM on a weekday. I ordered the KBT Burger and it was tasty for not having eaten all day due to flying. My order was taken pretty quickly. They seemed short staffed since the bartender was bartending and also taking the orders of tables as well as serving their food. She was a good sport about it, and had an upbeat personality and mood for the establishment seeming like it was short staffed. The restaurant was clean, and the lighting wasn't too bright which was perfect. Obviously since it's Louisville, there was a plethora of bourbons and whiskeys available to order if that's what you're into!

Yelp
Yo... I am writing this after my first drink. Highly recommend at least one drink from here and maybe head over to KFC if the food menu here doesn't interest you. But! The service was great. Staff were attentive. Ambiance is nice. It's in the Louisville Airport.

Yelp
Stopped by before a flight. Service at the bar is timely and friendly. Unfortunately, they don't have a lot on their menu right now. They were out of fries, which didn't leave a lot of options. I wanted some protein but there wasn't really anything healthy. I opted for the Hot Brown. It was good. Cheesy. Saucy. Fatty. Everything you could want in a hot brown. The chips needed salt. It came out quick and I was able to eat and make my flight with plenty of time. Bourbon selection looks good. This airport doesn't have much- a kfc, a pizza place, chili's and it's been awhile since the burger spot has been open. Thought this place would be a nice change but you'd honestly have more selection at Chilis.

Yelp
Bourbon Trail we are the first and last stop on the bourbon trail. This store has a variety of food and serves breakfast all day. Our menu has changed but the food is satisfying. We have a large variety of tastey bourbons with new ones to come. Our servers can guide you in the right direction of what drink best fits your taste. We also have some other tastey dri ks for those who are not the bourbon fan ( did I post that?) We have great servers and our food just adds the punch. Come and visit our cozy store and enjoy our atmosphere before or after a flight we want our place to be one of your stops when traveling through or to our city.

Yelp
It's hard to get good anything at the airport but this place does a good enough job. Our waitress Billy was very friendly. The kids chicken meal was too peppery but the fries were good. My daughter had to remove the breading from the chicken. The salad was good. Ranch tasted a little different. Expensive but that's the airport. We would go back.
google avatar

Abi A.

Yelp
There want really a lot of options for proper food which was a bummer. The wings we had were good and the bourbon that was suggested by the server was great. Service was not fast because there was only one server who also doubled as the bartender. My first time there but I would give them another chance
google avatar

Yelp
I was surprised that the chicken and waffles were really lacking flavor and taste. The chicken breast was huge and was very very chewy. It was bland and needed something else. I've had plenty of chicken and waffles at restaurants in Kentucky and this one was not up to par and I do not recommend.

Yelp
Friendly but inattentive staff. I don't have high expectations in airport bars, but the almost intentional lack of attentiveness was off putting. Manager thinks he's funny and charming. But it turns to annoying quickly with an empty glass for 10+ minutes. Food was okay. Decor was nice. Otherwise a hard pass.
google avatar

Jamila B.

Yelp
A nice restaurant at the Louisville airport. They have charging ports for phones and plenty of seating. I ordered a salad and it was amazing! Next time I'll get the bourbon wings!

Yelp
My partner and I needed to kill some time before checking into our hotel, so we figured we would settle into a booth with some breakfast. We stopped in here after passing TSA on the way out and we're greeted by the loveliest hostess/server. We were on the cusp of meal times (lunch starts at 10:30) and ordered biscuits and gravy and pancakes. Pancakes were delicious and the perfect fluffiness. The syrup was just the right sweetness. The biscuits were a bit hard, but the gravy was a great pairing. Overall a solid bite to eat for an airport restaurant!
google avatar

Bruno G.

Yelp
This review is not complete as I only had a breakfast there before getting to a flight. I would not recommend the place for breakfast. My plate was half filled with breakfast potatoes. The rest on the plate (scrambled eggs, bacon...) felt like it was cooked in the microwave. My toast were not ... well toasted. The place has a beautiful bar which I didn't try at 6:00am. I don't recommend it for breakfast.
google avatar

Leslie P.

Yelp
Terrible service. Sat down at a table and waited for 20 minutes without a waiter even acknowledging us. Two tables sat down after we did and their orders were taken within minutes. Don't bother with this place.
google avatar

Lorie L.

Yelp
With time to kill before my friend's plane departed, we visited Book & Bourbon for a drink. On the way to our booth we spotted the long couches and asked to sit there. The couches were a nice mix of upscale and comfortable with a coffee table and Kentucky photo books. My American Mule was decent and actually tasted a bit better to me when it watered down slightly. Our server checked on us several times to fill up waters and make sure we didn't want another round. While I can't speak to the food, it's a nice atmosphere and for those not yet inside of security it's a great pit stop before or after a flight. I actually forgot we were inside an airport! The table tents noted this is now a stop on the Bourbon Trail.

Yelp
The KY Hot Brown and kettle chips are sooo good! The service was great. The Hot Brown is one of the best I have had. I asked for a side of the bourbon BBQ sauce to dip my chips in and loved that too!Who knew that airport food could be so good! You don't have to be flying to eat here because it is located before TSA security.

Yelp
Ever since Book and Bourbon was established into the Louisville airport, I had been really wanting to try it out, mainly because the airport lacks food options, and local ones at that. On the outside, Book and Bourbon seems to advertise a little taste of Kentucky. It does in some ways, but it's not quite the best visual of our state. Note that this restaurant is right before security, so you'll only be able to access it by the entrance. They do have all kinds of bourbon, which is great. What is not so great is that my drink was served in a teeeeeny tiny glass and was $12. Like, this was basically a slightly oversized shot glass. It was okay, but definitely not worth the price tag. They don't have a whole lot to choose from food-wise, but their fried chicken sandwich is pretty solid. Not too pricey either. It's a cute little lounge to hang out in, with some comfy-looking couches in the back. Especially a place to try some good, Kentucky bourbon, but for your typical airport price.

Yelp
This restaurant is located in the airport before the security. We decided to get a drink and appetizer before our flight. You can go in and seat yourself wherever but it is hard to get a servers attention. Finally after 10 minutes of waiting, we were able to get a server to our table and ordered an old-fashioned with corn bread. The drink was good and the corn bread wasn't bad either - just a little too sweet for me. It comes with honey/maple syrup drizzled on top, I wish the syrup came on the side. We didn't have high expectations since it is hard to find good and reasonable priced food at the airport so we were not disappointed. One drink and the appetizer costed us around $24 total. Nice place with comfortable seats and couches to chill before your flight.

Yelp
I travel to Louisville Airport frequently for work and this is always a place in which i have to stop! Food is delicious, great drink choices, and friendly staff. It is very close to security once you have to start heading to your gate and easy to access. Out of all the airport restaurants this is by far the best!
google avatar

Marco P.

Yelp
Best airport food you will find pretty much anywhere. Must stop, all is good: the burger and the fried chicken sandwich are TOP notch. I travel 100k+ miles a year and eat at plenty of airport restaurants all over the world and hear me out: this one is good.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is right before the TSA screen at Louisville's Airport. We took our son to the airport and thought we get their breakfast. It wasn't that busy since just arrived. Menu was mostly Liquor. Bottom line: service was very pleasant and nice, however the food was mediocre at best. We ordered 2 orders of cornbeef hash which was a huge disappointment. It was actually pieces of meat and potatoes (eggs over medium that were actually cooked hard) that could hardly chew pieces of I guess cornbeef. Youngest ordered a hamburger which was mostly bun and other youngest ordered a waffle with ice cream (guess that's the only item that they can't screw up but no syrup. Coffee was good and replenished only after asking each time without any more creamer brought. My advice: go next door to Starbucks! Wasn't worth the $68, plus tip Look at the pictures and you be the judge

Yelp
Cindy/Cynthia was fantastic! At the airport, in a rush or not she's on top of it. I asked what the best sandwich was & w/o hesitation she said the French Dip. Along w/ the Caesar salad my girlfriend had, we were happy, full & ready to get on the plane. Excellent quick service & I totally recommend the French Dip as well. Delish!! It's also a perfect, comfy place to eat or meet up, before you have to pass thru security, w/ friends & family.

Yelp
Overall: For an airport restaurant, B&B impresses and is well above the normal fare you may find. The good: The salad that I got was huge, filling, and had a nice variety of tastes. Apples, chicken, cornbread croutons...it was all good. Paired with the honey cornbread appetizer, and I left ready to nap on the plane. The menu was large enough where everyone will be happy as well. The not-so-good: The service was fine, but nothing extraordinary. Our waitress oddly asked us to rate the place the best in the airport before we even got our appetizer, which was strange. Additionally, the booths weren't that comfortable and my party definitely felt cramped. Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Food: 8/10
google avatar

Francine D.

Yelp
This is definitely the place to stop when you are hungry and waiting for a flight at the Louisville Airport. I had an early lunch and later an early dinner here. I recommend the Caesar salad with salmon and the TBLT. They were both delicious and flavorful. Let me not forget the Kentucky lemonade and the Kentucky coffee (bourbon) that I enjoyed with my meals. The bartender, BillieJo, is a doll and will hook up your pallet with a nice drink.
google avatar

Yelp
Who would have thought one could find such a solid meal in an airport terminal?! The chicken and waffles came with two large, juicy chicken breasts. The food network calls this is one of the best airport restaurants in the US and I would have to agree! 5* = incredible (rare) 4* = very good/ strong desire to return 3* = generally good experience 2* = poor/ no desire to return 1* = a particularly awful experience

Cornelius J.

Yelp
I know you're thinking this is in the airport right? Yes, yes it is! Do not pass TSA go straight to B&B! Whether you're a sit at the bar or grab a booth type, they will take care of you. If you get to chat with Jessica or Billi Jo, you're in luck, they are hilarious and super attentive! Okay so drinks, there is no drink menu. They have a full bar mostly great bourbon options! Heavy pours but remember to tip just as heavily. They have nice beer selections and some wines if that's your poison. Food menu is short but packed with flavor. We got delayed so we had the Derby fries, anything with bacon is a win, might need a little more seasoning but salt n peppa are available. Enjoyed the bourbon wings, nicely sized with good crisp and flavor! I'm a Southern boy always happy for fried okra which was hot and perfectly seasoned.
google avatar

Tracey F.

Yelp
Airport restaurants are often good for one thing, quick food. This one offered up atmosphere, great food, amazing cocktails and friendly good service. The menu here is perfect. It looks like a book and has so much cute info about bourbon in it. They have great southern food and an amazing bourbon list. My fried green tomato benedict was perfect with a yummy bernaise sauce. Combined with a big ole Bloody Maris, perfect way to end my Louisville trip.
google avatar

Leis D.

Yelp
The food here is amazing!!! Top tier for airport food I've ever encountered and reasonably priced. I hate Kentucky but I would come back for this place. Loved!!!! the bourbon lemonade and margaritas for drinks, and for food, the buttermilk chicken sandwich. Everything is made in house and the bbq sauce and chipotle ranch are to die for. The servers are so sweet and had the best recommendations.
google avatar

Phuong N.

Yelp
My fiancé and I went back here a couple months ago as is our tradition whenever we're at the airport only to find they replaced their bourbon wings with clearly frozen boneless wings. They were dry and didn't even have enough sauce. They also didn't come with the usual celery or carrots. Can you guys not afford the old wings anymore? Didn't you charge enough money for them? They were the only reason we came here so needless to say, we won't be back.
google avatar

Jeremy T.

Yelp
I read this is the best sit down restaurant in the airport, so I had to try it. When I arrived and sat at the bar, I realized the reviews were right, they have a lot of seating for a restaurant in the airport. They have a small menu of apps, entrees, sandwiches, salads and desserts, including breakfast items. Their drink portion of the menu takes up a substantial part, with their bourbon selection taking up 7 pages alone! I ordered a cable car cocktail and a derby pie. The cocktail was simple and delicious and not very strong, while the pie was nice and sweet, but my only complaint is the sugar overpowers the chocolate in the pie. It comes with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and a fudge swirl, so this is not really diet friendly. All in all, not a bad choice for food if you're looking for a semi-final dining option because they have some dishes you will only see in Kentucky. Prices are about what you would expect for a sit down in the airport. Now that I've been here, I would try the pizza place, Louisville Coals, on my next visit, if I had to choose.
google avatar

Leiton C.

Yelp
$25 for that chicken and waffles is a disgrace - NO SEASONING - very BLAND!!!!however the service was good.
google avatar

Christy M.

Yelp
Not bad for airport food and definitely the best environment I found at the Louisville airport. I tried the chicken and waffle. I should throw out a disclaimer that I may be a bit biased, as there are phenomenal chicken and waffle places. It wasn't bad, and was good compared to most airport food, there was just nothing really outstanding about it either. The service was fine, again, nothing great, nothing bad. If I find myself back in the Louisville airport, this would probably be my stop again, but I would try something different.
google avatar

Don W.

Yelp
The only thing I look forward to when flying in or out of Louisville is B&B. The last few times I've been through, Jessica has been running the show super efficiently. The food is great and the mood is perfect for preflight. I find the power outlets under the bar especially helpful. This restaurant is one of the only reasons to get to the Louisville airport early.
google avatar

Lyndenise B.

Yelp
Definitely the best airport food that I've had... in a while! The last time I actually enjoyed a restaurant in an airport was in Paris. It's super convenient to get to since it's right outside of the American Airlines terminal. Security was so easy that it's no issue to sit down and have a meal before heading to the gate. I sat at the bar and the waitress was really nice. I decided to try out the bourbon waffles and a side of potatoes. It was sooooo good! I absolutely loved it! I didn't even need to add any of the syrup for the waffles because the sauce that it comes with was plenty! Waffles were really great and the potatoes were nicely seasoned and warm. I enjoyed my visit and look forward to stopping by again, should my travels take me back to Louisville! Definitely a must try before getting on a plane.
google avatar

Mohamed B.

Yelp
I come to Kentucky for work once a month and before I get on my plane I always grab a bite from Book and Bourbon. Iv always had an amazing experience. This is truly a 5 star place. But unfortunately this review is about my current experience. I hate to do this but service from my waitress was terrible and it seemed to be specifically towards my table. She would be very kind to the tables around me but bitter towards me. The service was so terrible that I waited over 40 minuets for my food that never arrived. So I don't miss my flight I had to leave. It just goes to show that amazing places like this aren't always so perfect. I will definitely be back. One bad experience isn't enough to stop me from going. I still had to eat though. So I grabbed a quick sandwich from the concession stand and ate it on the plane.
google avatar

Tawnee H.

Yelp
We showed up to the airport and saw that the security line was completely empty. This is a tiny airport. So we pulled out a chair at the bar and ordered some bourbon, wings, and deviled eggs. Wings were great. Deviled eggs were okay. Bourbon selection was good. Everything was overpriced. Waitress was the only one there and the place got pretty busy, but she still took care of us. All in all, I was grateful this place was there to enjoy some food and drinks and to kill an hour before heading into the empty terminals.
google avatar

Loretta C.

Yelp
Check out this place before you head through security at the Louisville International Airport. The place is huge and has plenty of seating especially if you are traveling with a large group. I grabbed a small quiet table in the back. The server came immediately and brought me some water and a menu. I ordered the pecan deviled eggs, which come with three whole eggs sliced into deviled egg perfection. I also ordered a wedge salad with bacon. When it arrived I knew I was in trouble because the salad was huge. They use a half head of iceberg lettuce. I was impressed with the eggs and wedge salad and would recommend them for sure. They also have a variety of burgers, sandwiches and other yummy things as well as a full bar. The service was excellent. I think I found my new place to eat when waiting for a flight.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Perfectly situated to be a great asset for the airport goers who arrive early but we got a sad little experience for what we expected. I mean the one place I would order a mint julep is Louisville and as you can see from the photo this one feel very short. Service and drinks took so long we skipped ordering dinner. Sit at the bar and you might have a better experience. Great vibe, comfortable seating, decent menu for airport.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
This place is a jewel at the Louisville airport before you go through security. If you arrive to the airport early or are waiting for someone this is prime! The bourbon selection is almost as vast as the staff's knowledge. The food is pretty great as well!

Kobi D.

Yelp
Billie Jo was the best server I have ever had! Wings are a must and ask her for a recommendation on the drinks! Overall cute spot you can people watch from outside the TSA gate
google avatar

Michaela P.

Yelp
When your flight is delayed...continue the bourbon tour. Great selection of bourbons, awesome service, and appropriately overpriced for an airport bar. No worries - the flight will seem that much quicker.
google avatar

Tom I.

Yelp
I had a nice breakfast here, fried egg Benedict (as pictured)both ham and baked potatoes. I was told majority of ingredients are from local, which I appreciated. Place is really fancy and comfortable, tastefully decorated and never feel like you are at airport. I would love to try dinner next time - the only downside is the location...it's before the security, so you have to time yourself carefully to not get stuck in long line and miss a flight. I just wish this restaurant was located after the security because this is by far the better eatery than one located by the gate!
google avatar

Robert U.

Yelp
This is good airport food! The menu is fairly traditional - starts, entree salads, sandwiches, and some larger plates. I've been here three or four times and have not been disappointed. They have a sweet potato starter that is great. The Cobb salad is nice and my colleague's burger looked right. They have lots of bourbon as well, and the bartenders seem very well educated on the topic, which adds to the fun. Give them a try and write your own review!

Yelp
We were in the Louisville area for business and had a long wait for our flight back to Orlando. We decided to wait it out at Books & Bourbon at the airport in Louisville. We were a party of 4 and not only was the food delicious, but the service was amazing. Our server was Mercedez and she not only was attentive and entertaining but upsold us on some fabulous bourbon tastings. We had a great time and a wonderful experience. Mercedez was amazing! Most airport dining options are depressing and this one was the exception to the rule. Highly reccomended!.

Yelp
Solid food, great Bourbon list, but I can't get over those airport prices. I know, I have to chalk some of that up to the 'airport' aspect, but 21 bucks for a middle-of-the-road cabernet... I just can't justify that. Still, my cocktail was perfectly made (my companion ordered the wine), and the salads were delicious. I'd have tried something heavier if my stomach allowed for it. We were eating light at the time, though, and it's a great place for a quick and healthy bite or two. The drinks are great, and I love a good bourbon selection, so if you're a fan, it's a great stop on the way to security. Just note, it is BEFORE security, so keep that in mind if you have a flight or something that you need to catch. The service was spot on. I don't remember our server's name, but she was superb. Took great care of us without any pressure or gimmicks. Great little place. Well worth stopping back in again.

Yelp
Excellent whisky/bourbon selection. Very friendly staff. Delicious hot brown and the sweet potato appetizer makes a decedent dessert. A little pricey but they offer military discount.
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
How can this place be voted one of the best in airport bars? Service is terrible. Bartenders avoid the bar, don't ask for refills, and have no idea how to keep a bar...had to move glasses and receipts out of the way and didn't wipe the bar down. Then ask guests that arrived after what they wanted. Perhaps the tenders should read a book on how to keep a bar...
