10 Best Places for Shopping in Charlotte

"Bookworms won’t want to skip a trip to Book Buyers, a quirky used bookstore in Plaza Midwood. The shop, which has been around since 1999, offers gently used books for adults and kids, all at a deep discount. You’ll find current titles as well as nostalgic favorites in genres like mysteries, non-fiction, and kids' books. There are also snacks and gifts, and if you’ve been in the market for a pair of boxer briefs with Edgar Allen Poe’s face on them, look no further. The sheer array makes browsing memorable; plus, let's face it, shopping is more fun when there are adoptable cats on-hand to greet you." - Lauren Levine

Google
My husband and I are from Georgia and stopped by here because a friend recommended it to us! It was such a lovely store! They had a great selection that way well organized - everything from romantasy, to philosophy, to even fiction books in other languages. We only got to spend 30 minutes there but could definitely spend hours if we had more time! And of course they had the cutest cats ensuring everyone got a dopamine boost while pursuing books. I would highly recommend for all book lovers!

My home away from home! Lee, Virginia and Richard are absolutely wonderful. By far, my favorite family-run and owned bookstore that also offers a vegan shop, The Greener Apple. If you find yourself in Charlotte, you should definitely check out Book Buyers!

I often walked past this bookstore without going in, but one day I decided to take a look and it turned out to be a real hidden gem! The shop has three adorable cats wandering around, and there’s even a children’s corner at the back where kids can read books and draw. The owner is very friendly and welcoming.

Google
Such a cool bookstore! Great kids section and a ton of variety which I love in a used book store. My kids loved all the cats! They are super cute and friendly. We’ll be back!!

Google
I had a good experience here and bought a good book for $6. Cutie cats too. Lee was at the counter and she was kind and helpful. I am going to say though - reading the negative comments, it seems like some customers feel as though they were discriminated against because of their race. This is quite worrisome and not fair. I really enjoyed this book store + cats but I don't know if I would return again if that's the case.

We were in Charlotte to visit another store that is in the same plaza as this store. This book store has a lot of used books as well as few other items. The store is small and cozy with a nice selection of books. We walked around ans headed to the childrens section and saw a guy petting a gray cat. Cats plus bookstore is Heaven! We got to pet her and she was so silky soft. I went to the front by the checkout register and asked the lady what the name of the cat was. She asked which one as she has 3. I was excited to see if I could find the other 2. I said the gray one. She said her name was Deena. The lady moved a box from under the counter and there was an orange tabby. He was a handsome orange and his name was Junior. We didn't see the 3rd cat as they were tucked away where we wouldn't be able to see him. Looking forward to coming back!

Google
This has come to be one of my favorite book stores to browse. They have a rotating selection and always have something good to pick up. The staff are friendly and down to earth and helpful if you have questions! Plus there’s some cats that live in the book stores which really makes a perfect vibe in my opinion!

Peter M.

Google
Great selection of used books at reasonable prices, all clearly marked. There’s even a kids’ section in the back, along with a nice assortment of tote bags, natural soaps, and lotions. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable, which made browsing even more enjoyable. And the best part? The resident cats that roam around add an extra bit of charm to the whole experience.

Yelp
Super friendly and helpful cashier! She kindly showed us every section we were looking for. Everything was very well organized. The whole place has the wonderful bookstore smell. I could have spent hours in here! Prices were a little higher than eBay or Thrift Books online, but I like that this was a local and in-person place.

Yelp
This is a gem of a store. Great atmosphere and excellent selection! Had a lovely visit.

Yelp
I went in planning on spending a certain amount of money and ofc came out spending more lol but im not mad at all. The prices are a little higher than what I was expecting but it could have just been the books I was choosing. I really wasn't paying attention to the price I was so enthralled with the abundance of selections. Which is why Im giving a high rating. If I wasn't on a mission I could have easily spent the whole day there lol the customer service was well they greeted me and I went on about my day. They weren't breathing down my neck. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Selection was wide and weird (I mean this in a very good way) I was introduced to sooo many books that I never heard of and absolutely enjoyed reading. I got the entire twilight book series, THE ENTIRE BOOK SERIES... like please take a second and soak that in. I grabbed 14 books and only spent $80 dollars. They have a little cat that lives there I'm assuming and he is too cute. Friendly and sweet so even you aren't a fan of cats you'll be fine to check out this amazing book store. They also have a really fun selection of totes, book marks, etc. I grabbed a wonderful wizard of oz tote and it's the cutest thing I've ever seen. They also have a tote that looks like a library card which I was heavily considering buying (if you buy it just know you have a piece of my heart).

Yelp
I'm willing to travel long distances to visit used bookstores. The smell, the look of them, and the jewels you can find if you spend enough time are big draws. This place hits all the marks. Larger than it looked from outside, each aisle is very well marked, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and there are lots of great finds to be had. Once very nice thing is that each aisle has several chairs on which to sit while perusing and leafing through finds. Prices are good and they have a little section up front with soaps and creams, etc.
google avatar

Caleb M.

Yelp
This is a must visit for bibliophiles. I drive 2 hours to browse the shelves for hidden gems and they never disappoint!
google avatar

Aaron B.

Yelp
Don't let the strip mall location fool you - this is a quality used bookstore. Seemingly endless aisles of paper treasures waiting to be explored, there is something here for all types of readers. Note - not sure what is up with the natural whole foods section in front - but hey - it's the South, so I guess natural food must be hidden away in a bookstore. The selection is wide and varied - and broken down into specific subject matters - ranging from sexual healing to science fiction - take the time to explore and I'm sure you will find something you like. Didn't get the sense that there were rare finds in the stacks - but enough variety from older titles to newer, you can probably pluck a gem. Paperbacks outweigh hardback. Science fiction section is STACKED - with varying series so hit that up! If I come back to Charlotte we will definitely come back here.
google avatar

Yelp
I was impressed by the gargantuan amount of books this place has. They have worked hard to organize the books by genre and then alphabetize the genre's by author. Many of the books are newer publications of desirable titles. Other books are older and rarer titles. I spent nearly an hour just walking the aisles and gazing at the spines. As I entered the store they had hundreds of books on sale located on the sidewalk. The employees were friendly and helpful. I plan on coming back soon.

Uneka H.

Yelp
This place is a lot bigger than what you would expect! So this is a cute quaint place / there's books all over the place and the isles in this store are endless. From what it appears - this is a nice mom and pops store in which in addition to buying books you can also sell them. I am not sure if you get actual money back or store credit. Now let's talk about the rating. This seemed like a nice store however I am extremely HUGE on customer service- a small greeting can go a long way. When I walked in - there was nothing- no greeting - no hello - no smile - no "can I help you" , not even "have a nice day" smh. There were other people that came in that I'm sure were regulars and it seemed like a pretty good vibe with them - however for my first time coming in the store - it would've felt great to feel welcomed into the business. They dropped the ball with this. Overall, nice store with tons of books - a little short on the service.

Yelp
This has become my favorite bookstore in Charlotte. They have a great collection of used books, including a number of old volumes, as well as reasonable prices, tons of vegan products up front AND a bookstore kitty. Parking lot is available out front. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Robin A. L.

Yelp
Such a wonderful bookstore with modern day titles and rare ones too. I loved that there was a healthy food aisle upon entering, which offered vegan selections. Totally set the tone for a holistic experience. Lastly, the book shop manager recommended two great books (upon my request) to help me break up my obsessive self-help collection.

J M.

Yelp
I am a long time patron of this store. I like its new location in the mall on the corner of Eastway and Central. It sells good books at good prices. If you need help they will do their best. It has its own unique personality. That is what you should expect and want from a local, family-owned store. Bookstore owners tend to be quirky people and used book store owners perhaps a little more. That is a feature, not a bug. So many people say they want local independent stores and then they expect a chain store experience. I am glad I can deal with real humans with their own personalities. Their shelves are full and so they have to be selective in what they take in trade, and they only have so much time to sort through things and after many years I trust them know what will be popular and what won't. You can't expect them to have every book you are looking for. But they will help you find what they have, and will try their best to answer any question.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a neat little bookstore, tucked away in Plaza Midwood! Outside you will find a rack of books that are on sale, for a dollar! Some great books, and good condition too! Inside you have more books of course...but what you don't expect to find is what makes it so neat. First of all there are two, not one, but two bookstore cats. Some plants for sale (this win me over lol). And lots of Knick knacks, and health stuff in the first few isles of the store. I've never bought anything from here, but I enjoyed walking around in there. I'll def return, and next time hopefully make a purchase! Spot on for being different, but cool. Perfect bookstore for plaza.
google avatar

Yelp
I was expecting a few shelves with paperbacks and hardcovers. Instead, I found a massive store with a shedload of great books! This place is ginormous! No, you have no idea. Maybe it's not Wal-Mart sized, but it's sure close or at least it feels like it. Lots and lots and LOTS of books, all organized by section. While the specific title I was hoping to find wasn't here, I still managed to pick up 6 paperbacks that will keep me well entertained for a while. Note: the shop has a 'house cat' and many signs are posted that you aren't supposed to trouble her. I'm a cat person myself and so I did pretty well. Once she had enough of me, I knew to back off. Her name is "Page". Of course.
google avatar

Brittney O.

Yelp
My first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. They have $1 bins outside with a few good titles. I enjoyed browsing the natural products section in the front and will definitely go back to purchase some new items. Although there aren't too many new releases (which I expected from a used book store), I was able to purchase a highly recommended book for half the price of Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
google avatar

Rachel F.

Yelp
I like this bookstore-- LOVE their cats. Deena especially, she greets everyone with a scratchy meow. Wish they were a little less hodge-podge with their stock and setup. It's piled up and pseudo organized. And looks more like a stockroom. If you're looking for something specific, the store can be hard. If you want to just wander and see what they've got this week, it's great. Their health food area seems a bit out of place, it would replace it with book-related items or even fixtures and create more sitting room in the back, but it's their choice to sell that stuff. Nice addition to Plaza Midwood.
google avatar

Michael N.

Yelp
Everyone knows by now that buying a new book can be ridiculous - ridiculously priced that is...$20 - 30 and up for hardcover new releases. I prefer mine gently used and depreciated in cost. Maybe you do too? Book Buyers covers those bases well and stocks a nice selection. While I was there, the owner was sorting through books people wanted to offload for store credit and he was very selective/particular about what he accepted. It does have a retro vibe and almost feels like your old library from high school. There are some little nooks where you can browse, but otherwise it's pretty packed. After browsing for a bit I gave up and asked the owner for help. He honed in on what I was looking for like a guided missile. Out of the 4 Richard Bachman books I was looking for, they had two. The pair were only about $12 with tax and were in very good to like new condition. You can't get those prices from 3rd party sellers on Amazon without paying at least $4 a pop for shipping. Nicely done Book Buyers! Viva used books! Viva Local!!
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
Good selection of books and a decent trade in price. Will definitely use in the future.

Aaron K.

Yelp
An indispensable local institution. I'm just sorry that since the move to the new location, I haven't been able to visit regularly.
google avatar

Yelp
Charlotte has a lack of used book stores--this is a great gem in Plaza Midwood. The shelves are sorted by genre and easy to navigate. They have a small reading area if you're looking to sit for a bit, and a resident cat to keep you company! Prices range depending on the book, but I've never found one that I felt was overpriced. In addition to the walls of books, they sell local goodies and cute little gifts. Absolutely recommend checking it out.
google avatar

Em H.

Yelp
I love used book stores & Book Buyers is a good one. I love my new Clockwork Orange & Edgar Allan Poe tote bags & I picked up a copy of "Queen of the Damned" by Anne Rice. Once I made my purchase, I was directed to a bookshelf to select a free book. I can't wait to drop it off at my local free little library! I will return to visit once I'm in Charlotte again.

Brooke I.

Yelp
I love this book store! Book Buyers truly preserves the feel of a traditional book thrift store. The staff is so welcoming, warm, and inviting. There is a great selection: newer books as well as vintage books. I can't seem to spend less than an hour here every time I come--so many great options!!! Some of the prices are higher than I'd expect for used books, but elsewhere new & used books are extremely expensive and frankly unaffordable. I have yet to bring any books in to see the compensation for bringing in used books. I highly recommend checking this place out before heading to a big-brand book store. 10/10 for me!
google avatar

Megha C.

Yelp
Lots of books to choose from. They got books on everything, language, food, technology, fiction, horror, humor, horses ... Everything you can think of.

Susan S.

Yelp
They dont buy books for cash. The only place i know that actually buys books is in greensboro.
google avatar

Andi M.

Yelp
I've been to Book Buyers often, usually after having breakfast at Zada Jane's (ha!). The store is huge, and they have a great selection of paperback and audio books. The only negative is that they have no computer system to check for a specific book you have in mind. This is truly an old time bookstore, allowing you to browse at your leisure. I always think myself lucky when I find something really good! They are constantly getting in new merchandise, so you never know what you will find. They sell books for 1/2 the cover price, or give 1/4 credit for trades they accept. They don't take books in poor shape or stinky (musty or smoky), so don't even try trading books in poor shape. Lee (the daughter of the folks who own the store) usually works on weekends, and always has a friendly smile. Paige, the resident attack cat, initially appears friendly, but don't try petting her for longer than a few seconds or she is liable to bite. Amazingly, these lovely and generous people often foster kittens until they can find them good homes. It's amazing how many people know they do this and now drop off animals they have found. So, if you know of anyone interested in getting a cat, check them out first!
google avatar

Deb G.

Yelp
This is an awesome, eclectic used bookstore with a great selection of well arranged books, and a few years back they added a couple of rows of other things like vegan snacks and food, environmentally friendly products, herbal thingies for your home and/or body, and some locally made soaps and stuff. My partner and I have been coming here for years! He is a big reader of history and philosophy, among other serious subjects, and always finds reads here that interest him which can't be found at the big chain bookstores. Oh sure, he could find his fav reading material online, but what fun is that? lol! My reading does not usually include such heavy subjects but I love to browse and I always find some reads that interest me as well. And being a cat lover, I enjoy a visit with Page, the resident bookstore kitty, and I really appreciate that the owner and employees are not only Earth and health conscious but cat lovers, too!

Lucia C.

Yelp
Excellent selection. pleasant owner.will miss them off the plaza. best to you! Good luck

Yelp
If only I had the space for more bookshelves... this would be a great go to place to spend time sorting through titles and finding books you would like to read - on the cheap. Yes, I have a Kindle, but there is something about a book in hand and turning pages that really appeals to me - call me old fashioned. Great space, really cool neighbors in Rita's and a cool looking eatery's nearby. Makes for a good spot to browse while you "walk off" a heavy meal or kill time waiting on friends that are late.
google avatar

Wendy B.

Yelp
I love this store! Every time I'm in plaza midwood I want to go there. It's the best place for finding new and unique gifts, old editions of classics, and textbooks. My favorite, (besides being able to pet the sweet kitty) is their range of art books. I can never find a bad deal on an art book there. I can never have too many viewpoints of art analysis. The owner is very nice and helpful and it's just such a gem of a store. My favorite place to get lost in reading.
google avatar

Melanie C.

Yelp
I stopped in here on a whim as I was driving by, and I'm so glad I did. This book store is eclectic but organized, a used book buyer's dream! The staff was knowledgeable about the available stock and where books were located, but they were also chill. They left me alone to browse after I asked my questions. I was happy with the array of genres and authors. I'll definitely be going back.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
One of my favorite parts of Plaza Midwood. This is an awesome store with an awesome collection. Most of my experiences with used bookstores have just been shelves on shelves of books without any rhyme or reason to organization. Book Buyers actually has everything organized by genre, and even breaking down categories. (Instead of just "Military History" they'll have "WWI, WWII, Korea, etc.) It's a dangerous place because I could A) spend hours in there, and B) spend so much money. The good news is that everything is priced so well you get an awesome bang for your buck. I randomly stopped by last week and walked out with four books in great condition for less than $20. Could not recommend more!
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
Great used book store in Plaza Midwood with a very angry cat. I could stop my review there, but it just wouldn't do justice to the love I have for this place. Amongst rows of shelves, you'll find just about everything here at a great price. The older gentleman that runs the store always knows where whatever you ask for is and his suggestions have never steered me wrong. Sure, he's not exactly brimming with Southern friendliness but he's a straight shooter and knows his books - what more do you want in a bookstore? The parking is easy, the hours are convenient and there's just something so mom-and-pop mixed with dive bar mixed with almost-out-of-business-please-help-us that makes it lovable to me. But that damn cat needs to be taken to their house - sometimes I wander into him by accident and his claws have their way with me :'(
google avatar

Tonya P.

Yelp
I have walked by Book Buyers many times, I always glance at the titles in the bins out front, today was the day that I actually stopped. When you walk in, it smells like musty books. It's vast and kind of reminds me of a school library. I guess the owner was at the register, there was a photo of him in front of a spaceship, maybe taken in the 70s, a fat cat named Page, who does not like to be annoyed and a warning on the door to leave her alone and not to call her names, specifically fat or pregnant and an airplane. Your basic needs for a used book store.
google avatar

Benjamin G.

Yelp
Everything about Book Buyers shows it's appeal and divine placement in Plaza Midwood. No business would suit this space more appropriately. From the musty smell of old, worn pages, the family cat just gallivanting around at will, odd finds and crazy selection, it's one of those places you just have to find yourself getting lost in from time to time. I've been in on multiple occasions and have really just enjoyed perusing and finding older copies of Tolkien novels and some cook books. Upon our last visit, we scored some great children's books for our nephew. We found some solid gold copies of old disney books, Winnie the Pooh, and a few Garfield coloring books. Needless to say, our little nephew was thrilled with all of the books. The prices were so good on some, too. Paying around $3 for a great, used book compared to the steep prices of a major book store is always a more palatable experience. The owners are so nice and they tend to have that syndrome where they know exactly where everything is. Pretty awesome. There are some pretty cool nick nacky items at the front counter, too. Always good when you need chapstick!

Yelp
I like used book stores for the very same reason that I like thrift stores... the thrill of a good find at unbelievable low price. With that said, just like a thrift store, Book Buyers has books that would make anyone go "wtf" with a little "smh." I have to be fair and say I mostly linger on the outside where they have carts and carts of $1 books. I guess for a dollar I can't complain much about the out-dated, "eclectic" collection of undesirable reads. But hey, just because I have no interest in an old edition of North Carolina legislature procedure rule book doesn't mean it's not a gem for someone else right?! There have been days when I just feel like finding a book to read but deprived by the library across the street (thanks budget cut!), I would try my luck here... and last night I found The Lovely Bones for $1. Book Buyers may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for me, I think it's one of the places that give my neighborhood a little character.
google avatar

Daniel V.

Yelp
Love this store! Not only do they have an amazing variety but right when you walk in the store they have a ton of "green" products. Will definitely be coming back when we are in Charlotte again!
google avatar

Lauryn C.

Yelp
Love Love Love Book Buyers. Not only am I a magazine junkie I love browsing book stores. I will never own a nook, or a kindle, or buy a book online unless I really have too. For me buying books and magazines is all about the experience, the smell, the calmness that surrounds you, the hundreds of choices that are given to you. I roam around Book Buyers at least every other week and I always find something I want. You can pick up some steals here and they have a great selection to choose from. If you need help finding anything just ask one of the staff members they are always more than happy to help you.
google avatar

Yelp
Book Buyers has a great selection of used books in all sections. And they're open Sundays which warrants the fifth star. I have been many times, it's fun just poking around and if you're looking for something specific the staff are very helpful. They'll keep things on hold for you for a day or two if you call to see if they have a special item in stock as well. Once while I was sitting in a chair in the back of the place looking over my marketing and management books trying to decide what I want to do next with my life, out of nowhere a bunny rabbit came hopping and stopped right in front of me. I kid you not! It was quite surreal... So if you like books and bunnies, this is the store for you! There was also the hugest black cat I have ever seen sleeping peacefully in a chair all by itself. It was so big no one would dare to bother it. So if you happen to like books, and bunnies, and black cats, you better get in here and start browsing right now! Update: The poor bunny passed away. :( But the huge black cat is still there.

Yelp
One of the most underwhelming bookstores I've visited. The fiction section looks like the shelves of books at Goodwill, basically lots and lots of junk. The Classics section is the only part that's close to being OK. This store doesn't give cash for books and on-top of that really lowball you when it comes to trade credit. The Last Word uses an electronic checkout so they seem to go through and take out stuff that doesn't sell and discount to keep a fresh influx of books moving. Not that writing prices inside the book doesn't work, I've seen plenty of bookstores use it, but they had taste in the inventory kept and had prices to match. This could be a great bookstore but for now it is pretty mediocre. If this store wants to see more traffic they should start giving more for trade credit so more readers will come and sell books and keep a steady supply of new books. Also start pricing books competitively to online prices such as Amazon and Half.com. Just my two cents, I'd open my own bookstore if I had the money.

Yelp
This place is HUGE! Friendly service. Great deals. You could look for hours!

Yelp
This was the first place I visited in Charlotte NC. If you love second-hand books, this is the place for you! They sell loads of stuff from military books, western, romance, fiction, foreign, etc. They also sells artisan soap, cute reusable bags, etc. reminds me of a store in Portland OR down in Hawthorne street. Parking might be a problem for some since its located near a small strip mall. Whenever you buy anything in the store, you get to pick any of the selected free books located near the check-out area. They also accept books for trade (store credit) not for cash. But you'll get a lot of stuff in return!! A really awesome place for book lovers.

Yelp
I LOVE Book Buyers. This is an awesome used book store with a lot of variety and character. I have, on multiple occasions, been able to find the book I am looking for here. The entire store and very organized, making everything easy to find. Their prices are reasonable, which makes this a great option over Amazon or another major bookseller. Support local and grab a used book from Book Buyers!
google avatar

Yelp
I am constantly on a quest for a great used book store. I'd passed by this little place a few times, and one day I finally went inside. The first moment I walked in the door, my senses flooded with the scent of old books (one of my favorite scents on the planet, strange as that is). They really have a pretty large selection of books, which was surprising given the size of the store. They had a greatly blend of fiction and nonfiction. I appreciate that they had it laid out in narrower categories than many used book stores I've been to in the past. Just one minor complaint so far. Some categories of fiction novels were intertwined in shelves that I assumed at first glance were nonfiction. It made it a little difficult to find some of the categories of fiction books. I'll definitely be returning here in the foreseeable future.

Yelp
Book Buyers has tons of a great used books for low prices. I love browsing through the store. After Kurt Vonnegut died, I was, of course, reminded how much I love his work. So I headed to Book Buyers. I only found one of his novels, but then a store employee found a couple more Vonnegut books they hadn't put out yet and I was able to buy a mini-collection for under 10 bucks.

Yelp
I love books, and even better are places that sell used ones! Book Buyers overall is not terrible. They have a lot of books, and some chairs. Unfortunately, they do not have that many books I would be interested in buying. They DO have an exceptionally a large selection of paperback classics, but the distribution of newer fiction/non-fiction titles is less varied and impressive. Their shelves are tall and the shop itself, though large, is rather generic. Some of the vintage books they have on sale are expensive and in very poor condition i.e., falling apart. If you're a student this is a stop you might want to make to either sell back or buy books. If you're interested in books, this is a neat place because it houses a lot of them. If you're looking for something special, you may need to look beyond Book Buyers. Three stars- one for having/selling books, one for having chairs, and another for being across the street from the library.

Yelp
I went to this store yesterday on the recommendation of a coworker and was NOT disappointed! In an age were bookstores are getting more scarce, I was very happy to experience this place that was quiet, well stocked with every kind of book imaginable, and with all the charm of the friendly neighborhood bookstores you may remember (NOT part of any chain). The owner was very nice and helpful, her three cats watched over everything and were more than happy to be petted, and the store had more than just books. It had a good selection of organic and eco-friendly products that was a nice surprise, like a store within a store. I will most definitely return and I encourage you to support this local small business, especially now in these difficult times. The only drawback I found had nothing to do with the store. The parking lot is shared with other businesses, is small, and at the corner of a busy intersection so going there late on a Saturday you have to be extra careful.

Yelp
When I'm in need of a book fix and don't feeling like waiting on Amazon to deliver I head on up to Book Buyers. This place has supplied me with several interesting books, that I have found stuffed in it's vast rows of shelves. It was here where I found my fist Oscar Wilde book. They give you an OK deal with trade-ins. Recently I traded "A Peoples History" for "The Great Gatsby" without paying any extra. The also have a section out front for discount books that you can occasionally find a gem in. Also, If you buy enough books they'll give you a free one! All and all a great book store. They even have a guard cat on watch. Oh, AND they sell various vegan snacks in the shop, which makes this place extra cool!

Yelp
Pretty decent book store. The first time I visited this place the cats gave me a scare. So if you are allergic to pets, you may have issues. However there is a great selection of used books. No discount if you are a frequent shopper, veteran or educator.

Yelp
Since they opened in 1999, I have seen this lovely, humble bookstore go through three incarnations. They've always had a fantastic selection of used books and some new books. I love the addition of literary themed t-shirts and book bags. The addition of The Greener Apple has proven successful with a fine selection of organic and gluten free goods. I recommend the vegan cookbooks... if you want to eat those, I'm sure they're gluten free. The store cat, Page, or Paige, is still there. Don't pet her, or call her fat, or even chunky. She'll claw the hell out of you.
