Lovely place and friendly staff! The whole restaurant is book-themed, but it's spacious and very cozy. Yummy breakfast as well! I had a granola bowl with fruits and the waffles to share, very good portions, fresh ingredients. Everything was great (: Perfect place to have breakfast as it's really close to the touristic attractions but it's not as busy.

Google
In a comfortable spot surrounded by books. The owners of this cafe provide high quality beautifully prepared meals- my breakfast consisted of four delicious cheeses, fresh herbs and nuts and a fried egg. The coffee was good but not comparable to a coffee house that roasts their own beans. The place filled up quickly with locals and tourists alike.

Google
Lovely setting within bookstore to enjoy brunch. So many little decorative details to find as you explore, like the butterflies cut from old books. The bagel and a bellini were great. Kids enjoyed their omelette. Soup was okay but would have liked more flavour. Selection of English language books available upstairs. Friendly service.

This place is absolutely delicious! They offer some delicious options for brunch and it’s walking distance from Bruges main attractions. The size of the portions was really adequate and the dishes were really delicious!! Thumbs up for those waffles with bacon and bananas. Coffee was good and the staff was kind. The place itself is charming and there are many areas both upstairs and downstairs. So many books! They have an outdoor space as well but it was rainy and we had brunch inside. It was very comfy. Prices were adequate and the quality of the food was really good as well. This is definitely a place you must visit in Brugge!

Google
A bit off the beaten track but we'll worth searching out. If you're a book worm then you've landed in paradise (English language books are up on the mezzanine level). Outdoor seating also available but difficult to get a table as it's where most people head to. Very visually appealing decor with wall to wall bookshelves. At the end of the meal I asked for a glass of tap water but was decline and it seemed to cause the waitress offence. Guess its not customary to do so in Belgium. Other than that please enjoy your visit to books and brunch its well worth it.

Google
Awesome brunch found the right place!! Environment - calm and warm, decoration - feels like home, menu - 5 stars. I would like more efficiently and quickly arrival of my order, however at the bottom of the menu is mentioned that the order needs about 30 minutes to be ready because all dishes being prepared at that time.

Google
The best place in Brugge! Wanted to eat a healthy and delicious lunch and we found this. Very decent portions, well priced and the taste, so fresh and healthy! Way better Choice than overpriced mussels with rude staff in the center of the town. Totally recommend!

Google
just gorgeous little place! most fabulous breakfast and brunch, lots of choice, lots of books. I had a delicious waffle which did not disappoint, and the butter beer was served with a Belgium published harry potter book which was just a magical touch. would definitely book in advance, very busy. lovely clean facilities and very friendly, great value too. well done

Yelp
I'm so glad we decided to make the trek down to this place for brunch during our stay in Bruges. The whole concept is really cool because you probably can't go wrong with either books or brunch but together seems like an even better combination. Our server was a touch cold and aloof but it was ok because they provide you with a paper menu that you can check off what items you want. This is a fantastic concept and I really wish more places did this. Two of us ordered the bagel with hummus, zucchini, feta, olives, tomato, and cilantro. This was not only nice on the eyes, but it was delicious and packed with tons of veggies and healthy shit. I could not have had a better breakfast. GF ordered the omelette with toast and she liked it but it brought up that dilemma that's as old as time regarding whether or not she likes eggs. If you do, in fact, like eggs, this is probably a safe choice. The last in our party ordered the granola bowl with nuts, seeds, fresh fruit, and yogurt. This person is very hard to please but I do remember her being pleased by this dish. They also have a million other things like pancakes, waffles (duh), sandwiches, salads, a dish of the day, a pie of the day, and a bunch of yummy drinks. The environment is SO cozy and a great place to spend some time enjoying good food and a book.

Yelp
Wow!! I am so impressed by this place. The service was wonderful, they provide menus where you check what you want. The food was fresh and so delicious. I told the waitress I do not eat pork and she substituted the ham for cream cheese for the extensive breakfast. So often I have fruit salads with bad fruit, but everything tasted great! The ambience is wonderful. They have books in English and other languages where you can grab a book and enjoy your meal. It's a wonderful location to hang out and take a break. I will be retuning.

Yelp
We had a delicious breakfast here! Everything was prepared with care, staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy - nice lighting, surrounded by bookshelves. I ordered the bread and two eggs, requested they would be cooked through - and ended up with what was essentially an omelet on bread that was perfection. Our chai latte and black tea were also nice. Overall we had a lovely meal with high quality food and would definitely recommend!

Yelp
This place is amazing! Staff is super friendly. Our server was a great story teller. Ambiance is spot on for a relaxing brunch. Grab a book and enjoy the vibe. Don't come here in a rush... you'll ruin your experience and also for those of us that want to do some relaxing reading while we wait.

Yelp
This place is great! I'm surprised they don't have more reviews. It was recommended by one of the people working at our hotel. We got there right at 9 and by 930 the place was full. They have a few tables so get there early or you will have a bit of a wait. Like most places we've been to here service was great but there is just one or two people working so it does take a little time. The food was amazing. We got the oatmeal which had raspberry's with some mint and chocolate. The avocado and tomatoes toast with over easy eggs was delicious. The omelettes we large and came with nice big pieces of bread. Definitely a must try.

Yelp
We found this place in brugge while looking for something not very heavy and a tad healthy for lunch. We just missed the breakfast time, so lunch it was. Found number of vegetarian and vegan options. Good coffee, amazing food and best of all, surrounded by books! what an amazing concept - they are a second hand book store too The owner was very helpful - switching out the menu option of eggs sunny side up to omlette and stopping by to check on us. Omlette on toast, avacado + tomato on toast, goat cheese toast(sandwich) and the vegan sandwich (came with salad) were all really good. so was the coffee and cappuccino. Definitely recommend to check this quaint place out, esp if you want to get away from the noisy, Central market area and away from the waffles ( though they have those too). We lucked out with the time we went in, by the time we came out, a lot of people had lined up and some of them out their names down for later that afternoon. a reservation is recommended, if you are able to. Look around, you might find a good read with a good eat. enjoy!

Yelp
Books & Brunch was probably our favorite spot we stumbled into during our recent trip to Bruges. It was a short walk from our place (as most things in the relatively small city were), and situated just outside of the heavily trafficked tourist area. We were greeted upon entering by the owner and were quickly awestruck by the great atmosphere. Surrounding us were wall-to-wall books and great decor. The menu offered a decent number of options for breakfast, particularly for those wanting some healthier options. I opted for the organic breakfast, which features organic apple juice, delicious coffee, a sunny side up egg, cheese, and some of the best bread I've had in a while. To top the bread, I was also given butter, jam, and chocolate spread. The service was excellent and made us feel welcome right away. The cozy restaurant was a perfect escape from the somewhat dreary weather. Would definitely recommend this place just slightly off the beaten path.

Yelp
We had a wonderful breakfast at Books & Brunch! We arrived early and had great service and delicious food! The bread selection that came with the meal was amazing!

Yelp
Super cute place for anyone who loves books and brunches. It is a little far from the center of town, which was perfect for us. The coffee was absolutely delicious and so was the food. They have a good variety of meat and non-meat options. Perfect way to start a day in Bruges! yummmm

Yelp
Books & Brunch is a fantastic little place to escape the crowds and noise during your visit to Bruges. It's a short walk away from the touristic center and, once inside this mix of bookstore and cafe, it's like you're in a completely different world. All dishes are quite simple, such as sandwiches, eggs, toasts etc., but very well made. The atmosphere is very calm, being fantastic if you just want to relax, browse some books (the English selection is limited, but there are some options), drink a tea or a beer and have a light meal. It's a very affordable place, and I recall the pumpkin soup in particular being terrific!

Yelp
This cafe was lovely. The staff was very welcoming. The menu was extensive. The drinks were beautifully made. The food was delicious. The bathrooms were clean. The eating area was so cute with books and a quiet atmosphere and clean. I would definitely come back here when in the city again!

Yelp
This place has such a cool vibe and simple but very delicious food. Stopped in for breakfast early in the morning with my family. Beyond good food, Books & Brunch has the best gluten-free bread I've ever had in my life. They offer a variety of breakfast options, all compromised of some sort of bread, jam, fruit, eggs, yogurt, etc. So delicious and filling. The gluten-eaters in my party loved their breakfasts, and I was blown away by how delicious the gluten-free baguette was. Absolutely the best GF bread I've ever had in my 5.5 years of having celiac. If you're GF and in Brugge, this place is a must. The lunch options looked equally delicious.

Yelp
A very cute little cafe a few minutes from the Markt - we went there for brunch, it is a cute small cosy cafe. The awesome thing about it is the shelves of books covering most/all the walls. They have books on every topic. We each had one of their breakfast options and while I think it's too expensive, it was really excellent - it comes with three large slices of breads, two eggs, a juice, and butter / jam / chocolate spread (the latter being worth the trip to the cafe in itself).

Yelp
My daughter and I recently vacationed in Europe and had breakfast at Books & Brunch. The hospitality was awesome.and the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere refreshing. The food was to die for. Everything we were served was extremely delicious!! If you are ever in Brugge I highly recommend Books and Brunch a place to visit.

Yelp
***Have not tried restaurant as it is closed until September due to maternity leave of staff member*** After driving circles in the city it was disappointing to find a sign on the door saying so..

Yelp
We went to Books & Brunch while we were in Bruges and it was an absolute pleasure! The vibe is absolutely adorable with books stacked everywhere, the food is delightful, and the owner was so helpful with selecting food and giving us travel tips! It's a few minutes walking from the central Bruges area, and has a much more local feel which we loved!! Not as many tourists which is refreshing. Absolutely recommend going here during your time for a delightful breakfast/lunch and ambiance.

Yelp
We had a Chemex and two lungos, both were amazing and came with these awesome and delicious chocolate cookies. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Bruges and are fed up of the overly tourist areas.

Yelp
A nice selection of breakfast/brunch/lunch food in a comfortable space amidst a bunch of books. Good selection of coffee and tea. I can't comment on their espresso, but I enjoyed their brewed 'slow coffee'. Prices struck me as a tad high.

Yelp
Love this place. The ambience, food, and beverages (see attached photos) were all wonderful.

Yelp
This was place was so delicious, ambiance perfect, and the waiter was a true gem. Besides the delicious breakfast, the waiter gave us some background on the street (Ekhoutstraade) and that it was likely a monastery or holy site at one time. Plus he gave us a "Brugge B-sides" map -- all the non-touristy bites, bits, and shops. The best!

Yelp
Great place for both breakfast and books lovers. We enjoyed an amazing brunch and added the Harry Potter butterbeers ;) waaw also bought a book for the collection. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
Wonderful place to spend time. One can read all of the many books for free and you can buy them as well. All this while enjoying nice food, friendly staff, and free WiFi.
