Book's BBQ

We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and the pork and sausage platter which came with 2 sides, we got mac and cheese and beans. The pork is very tender but not too tender and it had a nice peppery seasoning taste to it, the sausage was also very good and had a nice crisp to the casing. The mac and cheese was smoooooth like velvet, and the beans were very good. I always appreciate it when you can go somewhere and you don't have to drown your bbq in sauce, books required 0 sauce! We will definitely be back to have some more of books bbq.

First time trying this place.. food was amazing! Owner or staff working also very on point, friendly, and just overall a great experience. The brisket was soooo good! Will definitely be coming back!!

This is some serious brisket and pulled pork. The smoky aroma immediately filled my car after using the drive-thru. Canned soft drinks and Baby Ray's sauce available. Everything works together, so no need to choose favorites. Four-cheese Mac is epic, creamy slaw is cold, crunchy, and tangy. Pork and brisket both top-tier. Baked beans and cornbread were standard, but held their position. This place will become big if they keep that brisket and mac cooking. I hope they offer sweet tea eventually. Regardless, I'm gonna have to probably come back here again.

Food is fantastic. I've tried the chicken leg/thigh and the ribs, both have been fantastic. The portion sizes are the biggest I've seen for a bbq place it's hard to find that nowadays. I go back every couple weeks. They open at 11 on weekends but pull their ribs off at 11:30-12! Worth the wait absolutely

I live within walking distance of this place and I’ve been always wanting to go. Today was the day for me I tried them out. Let me tell you. Please make a stop here and try them out! I got the pulled pork sandwich, sweet heat homemade BBQ sauce, homemade slaw and a mini cornbread loaf. They weren’t playing around when it comes to freshness and portions. My sandwich was loaded all the way up with tender, juicy, delicious pulled pork. The sauce was just the best! Little sweet and a little heat! The customer service was great when I pulled up the drive-through. The gentleman who took my order was very kind and friendly. Overall I will be coming back to try their ribs and other sides!! Shop local and eat local!

We stopped here to get lunch and boy was this the right choice! We decided to split a 4 meat platter. We doubled up on brisket and pulled pork. Our 3 sides were coleslaw, smoked macaroni&cheese, and baked beans. The platter included a mini cornbread loaf and a drink. The meats, sides, and cornbread were all tastebud pleasers! We also picked up 2 fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies and 2 pints of the sweet and tangy sauce for home. We will be eating here again!

I stopped by randomly after noticing their grand opening. You can feel the bbq walking up! I ordered the brisket platter with mac & cheese and coleslaw. Everything was delicious. You know it’s the real deal when the owner is working the counter! Cheers! #pintsforksfriends

We discovered Books a month or two ago and have gone a few times. They are always so friendly, and the food is always amazing! Make sure to go early. They always sell out of something. Their tangy sweet BBQ sauce is my absolute favorite.

I've been wanting to find a new BBQ spot, and I definitely think this is it! When I got to the counter, the man working there was very friendly and helped me select the Brisket Mac and cheese bowl. I got their house made sweet and tangy BBQ sauce and a side of sweet baby rays and it was exactly what I was looking for. There was a solid amount of Brisket and the Mac and cheese was flavorful and cheesy. The brisket was very tender as well.

This place was very good! The Mac and cheese was prob theeee best I've had from a restaurant. They had generous portions and good prices. No complaints!

The place is pretty new, so I decided to give it a try. They have sandwiches, sides and platters. I decided to try a platter. I got the brisket, it comes with two sides, I got baked beans and Mac & cheese, it also includes a cornbread and drink. All for $20, which seems pretty reasonable. The baked beans were excellent and the Mac & cheese was really good. On to the star of the show, the brisket. To say they provided a generous portion of brisket is a significant understatement. I was shocked at how much brisket I received. The brisket was moist, had a good smoke flavor and was well seasoned. I'm a firm believer that good BBQ shouldn't need sauce, so that is always how I try new BBQ and actually how I prefer it. This brisket was delicious. This is easily the best BBQ in Wadsworth and certainly worth a visit if you are anywhere within 30 minutes.

After reading some of the reviews, I drove over from W. Akron to give them a try. The ribs were good, but not great as was the cole slaw. The star of the show was the brisket (as others stated), as well as the baked beans and mac&cheese. The brisket was amazing. The sweet bbq sauce was tasty. The staff there were friendly and the little place was charming. There is a drive-thru and a walk up place to order. I ordered online and they got it together once I arrived. Definitely worth a try.

Amazing food. The brisket I had was about a foot long, great smoked Mac & Cheese plus good baked beans. I tried his bbq sauce that he made instead of the sweet baby rays, I told him he should ditch the sweet baby rays and sell his own. Loved it

So excited to have a good bbq option in Wadsworth. We ordered a little bit of everything when we placed our order online. Shortly after, the owner called us and said that the ribs wouldn't be out of the smoker until a little later and gave us the option of coming to get the other stuff, cancelling the ribs, or coming later to pick it all up. We opted to come later to get it all, but we were so happily surprised that the owner didn't want us to show up and not have something and personally called us. He was so friendly and thanked us for our business. Really impressed. Food was just as impressive. First off, bbq is pricey, but it's worth it here because the portions are huge! Especially compared to other bbq places. The Mac and cheese was so good. The pulled pork and brisket are excellent too. The ribs are so meaty and the perfect amount of smokiness. We really enjoyed our food and will definitely be ordering again in the future.

Hands down some of the best BBQ you'll find, especially in the area. Quick and easy drive thru made it easy on a rainy day. Local meats and house made sauce!? What else can ya ask for. Will definitely be back time and time again

Taking food home for me and the boyfriend. I got the brisket and pulled pork platter, which came with a drink, cornbread and two sides. I got double mac n cheese so we wouldn't fight, added baked beans, another muffin and a side of slaw. They give you the bbq sauce on the side. The homemade sweet and tangy is where it's at. I will get a lot more sauce next time. We split the meats and have so much left over still. The coleslaw paired so nicely with the meats and the beans and I topped my mac and cheese with the pulled pork. They also have coke products! The food came up quick and the order was accurate. No pictures because we ate it right away!

New open in wadsworth. First timer at Books. As a self proclaimed brisket aficionado, my brisket rating was a 6 stars out of 5 Brisket - Tender juicy peppery. I got the $20 basket and there were two huge pieces inside. A+ there. I could have ate 3 more. Wow. Just that good. Coleslaw - 3/5 was good. Very close to Buehlers style. Mac and cheese - 3/5. Good. Pretty standard but tasty Cornbread - needed the most help. Tangy sauce - pretty mustardy - at least that's what I taste. It could have no mustard lol As you read, you're probably thinking - this guy is just bashing the sides and gave it five stars?? Yep, the brisket was JUST THAT EXCELLENT!! It's a notch or two above. Check them out!

This was a nice find... just stopped and got pork and brisket platter with Mac & cheese & beans with a side loaf of cornbread. Tender and delicious. Forget the baby rays bbq sauce option... go with their house hot bbq. Yum yum yum and not real spicy. Great place, stop and check it out!

This place is such a great addition to Wadsworth. Their pulled pork is amazing, chicken is tender and juicy, sausage is on point and their brisket is Da Bomb! Love the Mac and cheese and coke slaw as well. We've been going here since they opened up and just picked up some bill trays for Easter (pulled pork, Mac and cheese and cole slaw) and it was amazing. If you are in or near Wadsworth you owe it to yourself to give them a try (assuming they haven't sold out for the day). I hear they have Ribs now and can't wait to try that next!

The brisket was delicious and generous on the portions. Sausages have a great flavor set apart from other BBQ joints. Ribs are spareribs so if you aren't used to the extra cartilage in your ribs it might be a little turn-off, but I love them. Perfect amount of bite and very tender. Hey Books... take these to competition. On a small down note, the pulled pork was a little on the dry side, but came right back with some of their spicy house BBQ sauce. Cornbread and beans were a great addition on the side. Thanks. I'll be back.

Everything is spot on. I smoke something every weekend and it's hard for me to find BBQ as good as mine. This is better than mine. Mac n cheese is amazing, portions are generous, prices are fair. What are you waiting for?

just had book's bbq for the first time and it was amazing! not only was the food outstanding but the portions very generous. definitely keep them in business and order from them!

Whoever says this is good bbq is CRAZY and obviously never had good bbq. It's very bland, no flavor. When I say no flavor, that's an understatement. NONE. I got the brisket and pulled pork. BLAND! The macaroni and cheese. Bland and nothing but mush. It's straight up MUSH. I'm so upset. $30 for inedible food.

Love the food, just wish they would add turkey breast. The Mac and cheese side is not my thing, but husband liked it. Decent coleslaw too.

Amazing and tasty BBQ!! We were visiting the area and were looking for a great place. This place is a few miles off the highway. A small little whole in the wall!! It appears to be family run or have a small operation. We were greeted at the walk-up window by a true gentleman!! We told him we were not from the area and asked for suggestions. He told us its all good!! We tried the brisket and pulled pork with mac-n-cheese and bake beans on the side. We waited a few minutes and were handed our order. He added that he threw in some more meat for us!!!! This container felt like 5 pounds. The only draw back is there is only outdoor seating. It had rained in the last hour or so, so we had to sit in our car. That was ok......the man gave up plenty of napkins and utensils. The meat was extremely tender and falvorful!!! The bark on the brisket was thick and full of pepper!!! Some of the best BBQ we have had before. The sweat savory sauce was off the chart also!! There was so much food we could not eat it all!!! The sides were amazing too!!! Creamy mac-n-cheese and beans off the hook!!! The only draw back other than the seating.........the offering of beverages!!! They only offer sodas and tea that are canned. I mentioned to my wife that when you go to a southern restaurant or BBQ place......one of the things you except to have is wonderful southern iced tea!!!! Iced tea would have been a wonderful addition to the already wonderful spread!!!!!

It's kind of nice Wadsworth actually got a decent barbecue joint. Ate there for the first time today. Brisket was super tasty whatever they're smoking with and rubbing on it made it delicious.

Simple, local and delicious. Order early. Food goes fast. It's so worth it. Highly recommend.

This is my new favorite bbq place. The brisket was some of the best I've ever had. It was smokey, moist, and tender. The pulled pork was just as good, if not better, as were the sides of mac n cheese and slaw. I have been back almost once a week and I love their consistency. The brisket was a little dry on one occasion but that can happen. My first gripe was that they didn't make their own bbq sauce. Since I first asked, I guess they have messed around with making their own but I have yet to try it. I'm sure if its anything like the rest of their food it will be awesome. This is now my go to place for bbq!!!

Waited a while to try, always "sold out" ... was expensive , dry , poor quality bbq. Can't in good conscience recommend. Unfortunately had no redeeming qualities. They were polite and service was fine. But that's where the positive ended.

This place is legit! Got the sampler platter (brisket, chicken, pork, sausage) and they were all Tip Top! Highly recommended!!!

This was our first visit and we will definitely be back!! Best BQ we've had other than Home Team in SC. I got the pulled pork platter with baked beans & slaw and my husband got brisket & pulled pork platter with macaroni & cheese & slaw. It was absolutely terrific - HUGE PORTIONS!!! Can't say enough good things about this place!!

I'm a first time customer for this place & it was sooooooo darn good. The pulled pork was so soft & moist you can cut it with a plastic spoon. The 4 cheese Mac is on point & the beans absolutely delicious. Being from South Carolina I've had a lot of good BBQ but these guys take the prize of best I've had in a while. So if you're looking for BBQ so good that if you were to put it on top of your head your tongue would beat your brains out to get back to it this is the place for you!!! If I could give this place more than 5 stars I absolutely would.

I saw something pop up on Facebook for Book's BBQ. Hubby and I starting looking up all the info. We instantly wanted this food! We ordered on line and the owner himself delivered our food! He was very friendly and excited when we told him this was our first order! Oh my gosh - the food was so unbelievably good! A solid 5+ stars. I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of creamy coleslaw. The pork was delicious! The creamy coleslaw was excellent! The sandwich had a really really good bun that was top notch and was perfect for making this sandwich. The sandwich was also huge! I have enough left for a full meal again! Hubby ordered the pulled pork, sausage & brisket platter with a cornbread loaf and 2 sides - he got homemade baked beans (perfect and delicious) and he also got the creamy coleslaw. He easily has enough left over for another very full meal! (It would definitely feed 2 people). It was ALL extremely good! We were almost done eating when we realized that we hadn't even put the BBQ sauce on anything - it was THAT good! We did try the BBQ sauces - tangy and regular/sweet and they were both extremely good - better than any that we have found at any grocery store! We would both give more than 5 stars if available for every single item! We very highly recommend Book's BBQ! We absolutely will be ordering from them again and again!!! We are new to the Wadsworth area and are very happy to have this place so close by!!!!
