I love everything about this place! We stopped here randomly on our way back to Canada and it was a fantastic experience. From the ambiance to the food and the staff is nice. I had the special of the week: bacon and guacamole burger and it was amazingly tasty and good, I didn't expect it to be so good! Onion rings are also a blast and I strongly recommend. I wanted to order an ice cream but I was too full. I will definitely come back!!

Google
Service was great! We needed more time to decide and our server came back exactly 5 minutes later. Very friendly and helpful. We had the Boomer burger combo with shakes. Shakes were so delicious. Burgers were good but a little heavy on the sauce. At first I thought they put Cole slaw on it then realized it was shredded lettuce with ALOT of sauce. Will definitely try it again.

We pulled in and were able to order after 5 minutes as the server was bringing out the car next to us' order. Our food came within 7-10 minutes and in that time I went to the bathroom inside. The bathroom stall smelled strongly of pee and had graffiti on the walls, ceiling, soap dispenser, and door. Once our food came I enjoyed my chicken burger but noticed there were large chunks of ice inside of my float. I thought they were ice cubes but it was as if icecream was frozen and a shell of ice built up around it. This ruined the entire drink for me and I didn't have much of it. The seasoned curly fries were good and reminded me of Arby's. I would return for the burgers but wouldn't order a float or utilize the bathrooms inside.

Google
Very cool place with a 50s vibe. They have hard ice cream milk shakes and malts! My burger was delicious and messy. I highly recommend.

Google
Bellingham landmark. Absolutely old school Drive-In. Even the music is from an old diner. Great burgers and the waffle fries are iconic. Don’t forget a milk shake and don’t miss eating here when in Bellingham’s South Side. Excellent service right at your car or inside too.

Google
Stopped here on my way back from Canada. The vibe is like Sonic with order from your car menus, except an employee comes out to get your order. I ordered for my family of five and we didn't wait too long to get our order. Their burgers are tasty and their waffle fries are good too. Their prices are reasonable too and their menu has many different options.

Google
On arrival parking lot and lobby were packed full. There was a party of twelve ordering in front of us so I was very surprised with how fast we got our order. I strongly do not recommend the Fish and chips Admittedly I knew I should have got a burger instead of the fish and chips, so I can’t knock them too hard for that. My girlfriend really loved the Gyro burger and the fried mushrooms were the best we’ve ever had. Also the fries are out of this world 10/10 I would drive 3Hrs just for the fries. The staff was upbeat and welcoming. Sometimes I have stoner brain and they were very patient.

Google
Boomer's used to be our favorite burger places in Bellingham for many years. They are still pretty good but not the best any longer. We went back for the nostalgia of it, and it was just like we remembered. Food is good. We really like the Mushroom Swiss burger, and fried mushrooms are very tasty also. I dinged them slightly in the atmosphere as it's basically a drive in place with a very small eat-in area.

Yelp
Boomers was a staple when my kids were young so we thought it would be fun to bring the grandkids for lunch. Extremely disappointing! Wasn't very crowded but we still waited nearly 20 minutes for our food. Hard with a 2 year old. The 2 kids meals were the best things we ordered. Of the 2 adult meals, the Asian chicken salad was awful. The chicken was like shoe leather. Dry and flavorless. The lettuce was wet but had very little dressing. My mocha shake was as thin as milk and not even cold. Threw the whole thing out. We used to go to Boomers just to get shakes! Husband's burger was a little overcooked. Total of 3 orders of fries - all lukewarm. Won't be going back.

Yelp
I had mixed feelings and was unsure how to rate. I would say a 3.5 but I very much enjoyed some items that I had which I would come back for which made me give it a 4. This place is a drive-in as the name says, but there's also a small dine in area if you would prefer to sit as a table. There are restrooms. They are very small. I got the combo which comes with the boomer burger, fries, and a hard milkshake. Boomer burger was great! It's a classic burger and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The fries that came with the meal were crinkle cut. I was expecting to receive waffle fries from other reviews and their menu. The fries were hot but they weren't very crispy. They were soggy and flimsy. For the shake, I ordered strawberry. And it was great! There were real strawberry chunks so it had that sweet with a slight tart flavor.

Yelp
We moved to Bellingham in 2018 and were so pleased to find the town still had a real, honest to goodness drive-in restaurant. Excellent. We went several times in our classic car for the whole drive-in, car delivery experience! Fun! During raining winter days it was nice to eat inside near the cozy fireplace. Even better, we discovered that once a year they held an event called "Boomuary" about a month long amount of time where all the burgers are sold for a flat fee. What could be better right? Great burgers on sale! Well, not actually. That was the beginning of the end for us. Too be fair, I know the demand is out the door during that time but the quality really slipped during Boomuary. Quantity outstripped quality. The burgers were either overcooked or undercooked, and regardless of that, they always seemed to arrive cold and the car or the table. We had really enjoyed the wonderfully textured waffle fries as well, but now they too also arrived cold. Giving Boomer's the benefit of the doubt, we came back on four separate occasions after that hoping to experience the Boomer's we had originally discovered only to find that overcooked burgers with a rim of carbon now seemed to be the norm, and like before, burgers and waffle fries arrived at our table, cold. This was sad, but I'd wager this is 'fast food' that has made the jump to 'rushed preparation' and the quality has suffered as result. Adding a star for the delicious strawberry milkshakes that have maintained the standard, but as far as a real drive-in burger joint, we're moving on.

Yelp
Service was great and fast to me. It wasn't busy. I ordered the bbq burger and then some curly fries. Curly fries were good, up until I ran out of the good pieces. Maybe 10% good cork screws and the rest were bits but that 10% was really good while it lasted lol. The burger I actually loved the taste and the bbq sauce. Didn't mind the cheese but what was weird the burger itself was cold. The cheese didn't even melt. So burger taste was all good except the fact it was cold. Would have been a 10/10 if it was hot or atleast warm where the cheese would melt naturally.

Yelp
We love coming to this place for burgers and waffle fries. Their combo comes with real in e cream milk shakes also. If you so want, you can pull up and eat in your car, car-hop style! The food is always great quality, the place is clean, and the service is awesome. We hope this place stays around for a very long time!!
google avatar

Julius T.

Yelp
The food was good, burgers were very well cooked Slightly bland and the avocado on the guacamole bacon burger was very fresh, and the milkshakes are very awesome I love how they allow you to combine flavors, they forgot the bananas in the banana supreme though. The service was quick and they are very patient. I only used the pull up option for food so I'm not sure how the ambience is inside the restaurant but I like how you can order in your car!! ^^

Yelp
Nostalgic burger spot. I had a burger and waffle fries. Great value. It's definitely that place you took your girlfriend in high school. Teenagers taking orders and an ice cream shop on the side. Next time I will try their shakes.
google avatar

Yelp
5 stars for the staff and friendliness. Dining room spotlessly clean. Unfortunately our waffle fries were undercooked we had already had or burgers returned as the patty was obviously sitting in a warming oven. So we didn't say anything about the waffle fries. When our burgers came back it was hot and fresh. I do wish the toast the buns as it was cold (bun). Was surprised the lack of flavour mayo pickles (only two) and one tomato. Just boring. Will we be back? Not necessarily in the near future.

Yelp
I love Boomers. I like the old-fashioned drive-in theme. For me, eating at Boomers is about more than just the food. It is about the nostalgia, the attitude, the history. I like that they play "old" music that I listened to as a young person. I ate there yesterday. I got a Big Boom. The bun was a little mushy and the frozen patties were overcooked. It was perfect; exactly what I wanted. I savored every bite. Every year they have their annual "birthday sale". How can you not like that? Oh, by the way... they have the best milkshakes in town! I hope they are there for there forever. The food at Boomers is what it is. I know what to except and I love it!
google avatar

Char B.

Yelp
Love the nostalgic charm and ambiance here. The burgers are just ok. Waffle fries average. My favorite part of my meal was the peanut butter shake. It was really crowded so I can't comment too much on the service but they did get our large order correct!
google avatar

Arthur R.

Yelp
Took the coupon deal and I guess I was expecting too much. Did the combo 2 with a free burger but the price on the menu is not the same. They charge you about $1.50 more than the menu price for the combo 2 to get the free burger. Total was a little over $12. The waffle fries were just cooked so very good. The burger was fine but for sure on the small side. Similar to a Jr burger at McDonalds. I'll be back maybe in 6 months.
google avatar

Yelp
Driving through Bellingham during lunch, I stopped into Boomers. I loved the 1950's Drive In vibe. I ordered the Combo #2 which was a cheeseburger, waffle fries (bonus) and a large drink. I enjoyed the food and recommend.

Yelp
Doesn't even deserve a single star. Sadly the food quality and service has gone way, way downhill, I think the surprising popularity is from recommendations from people who remember it fondly in its heydey but either haven't been recently, or are giving the benefit of the doubt it's a temporary lull. After having been very disappointed 3 times in the past year, I'm not going to try again. (They also discontinued sweet potato fries and curly fries - some of the best items!) I don't think it's the fault of the staff - they are swamped and can't handle the volume of orders coming in from drive-ups, walk-ins, online, and call-ins. Last night I placed an order online, informed it would be ready 30-44 minutes later. Arrived at the designated time and discovered it jam-packed (I'm sure it's over capacity for health code, and I was one of only 3 masking) no clear indications where to go for online pickups (thank goodness for kind Bellinghamsters willing to be patient and help each other out). Shuffled around and waited ~20 minutes to even get to let them know I was there, then waited over an hour to finally get my food. When I finally got home over 2 hours after I placed the order, the fries were undercooked and completely cold, and my burger was dry and flavorless (lacking the extra sauce and single additional topping I'd requested and paid extra for). I had observed two people return incorrect orders while I was waiting. Don't waste your time here, you'll only be sorely disappointed.

Yelp
I went in around 5:30 PM and it wasn't very busy but still cars in the lot. The girl working there kept looking at me and walking by. I had my lights on in my car and I kept giving her a thumbs up as I was ready to order And she kept ignoring me after about 20 minutes of waiting. I ended up leaving. I was super bummed.
google avatar

Yelp
Neat little spot in Bellingham. Wish we had more diners like this. The restaurant is a drive in with burgers cooked to order, and they have a nice list of shakes and ice cream. It was quiet and very nostalgic. Gave them three stars because the chicken burgers (we ordered two kinds) were very tough to bite through. The beef burgers were perfect. Fries were delicious. The shakes and ice cream were a perfect way to end the meal.
google avatar

Corey W.

Yelp
The super tall and pretty and talented and pretty and funny girl, who sometimes takes orders out, is so good at her job. She goes by Kloe, I think. She spreads light and joy like no other! Holy smokes she glides down that cement catwalk like a supermodel! 10/10 service 10/10 burgs
google avatar

Yelp
Bad food (I ordered a burger with extra pickles and no lettuce and got one with overcooked beef, no pickles and lots of lettuce. Order was 15 minutes later than they said online (which I didn't care much about) but the services was the actual worst. Younger, tall brunette girl was suuuper rude when my husband had the audacity to ask for ketchup and mustard. Food is definitely not worth the attitude.
google avatar

What is live I.

Yelp
The food is really good but the service is slow and the lady taking our order, forgot half of our food and messed up my burger I ordered a plain cheeseburger with bacon. I got a hamburger with no cheese and ketchup and mustard. but out of the five times I've been here that is the only bad experience we had.

Yelp
Fish Burger 5/5 overall. Fish Fillets 5/5. Bun 5/5. Sauce 5/5. Flavor 5/5. Toppings 5/5. Fries 5/5. Size and value 5/5. I have been wanting to come to Boomers for years, now I know why! Everything looked amazing and the Fish Burger Combo was perfection. Perfect balance of the amounts of everything. Highly recommend Boomers and will be back anytime I'm in the area!

Yelp
Boomers is a gem in Bellingham! Been here many times, but I have never reviewed. Prices are great, environment is fun, and food is delicious. I always get combo #1 because it's a great deal and they have so many fun milkshake options to choose from! My favorite is the butterscotch milkshake. Best part? They also serve all burgers with waffle fries. Who doesn't love waffle fries?! This is a fun place to take people from out of town -- but plan for it to be busy. I see some negative comments about the wait, but it's because it's the cheapest place around to get a classic burgers and fries (making it a hot spot for college students) -- I think it's worth it. Although, it's fun to experience the drive-in aspect, I recommend going inside and ordering because I find that is usually quicker. The restaurant is mostly run by I'm assuming college students since it's so close to the college, but I have been pleased with the service every time I've gone.

Yelp
Excellent experience, tasty burgers, waffles fries are my favorite, and the cherry on the top is their amazing milkshakes. Many flavors of milkshakes!!! I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Great iconic restaurant in Bellingham, friendly staff and consistently good food. Oh, and in the month of January, any burger on their menu is $3.66.

Sami D.

Yelp
so let's start this off, me and my boyfriend went there just now and once i got home i was actually disappointed and so grossed out. for one my shake was just ice cream it was supposed to have and taste like doctor pepper all i can taste is vanilla, i had ordered the sesame chicken salad and tell me why it was WET like soaked it got all over my boyfriends jacket and i was like wtf but i'll try it bc i just paid twenty dollars for our order also i asked for olives and they gave me FOUR OLIVES?! like what! i couldn't finish the salad and only ate the olives. my salad was sweet ash a salad should not be wet, sweet nor badly tasting and it was all of the above. this completely ruined my experience with the food from there and will not be going back.

Karen S.

Yelp
Last time I had boomers it was garbage, burger was cold and tasteless, fries were good. Service was fine.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun place to grab a quick taste burger. Love the old fashion drive in vide. Service is fast and helpful Service was impeccable If you happen to leave your lights on and have your battery die.... They have a charger to get you back on the road

Natelie C.

Yelp
I just moved in down the street and was really excited to try this place. The online reviews were mixed, but I don't always trust them of course. I ordered a fish sandwich, curly fries, and a shake. The shake was DELICIOUS! however the rest not so much. I'm so bummed! On my fish sandwich I got a couple little pieces of fish, a tiny piece of tomato, two little pickles and hardly any sauce. The fries were dry and did not taste recently fried. Staff were nice. But I was hoping to have a regular take out spot right down the street. I guess I'll just come by for shakes.

Yelp
Love Boomuary ($3.55 for any burger on the menu, even full loaded and double burgers during January and February). Waffle fries, onion rings, and fried mushrooms are on point. The hard ice cream shakes (not soft serve) are delicious too. Not too thin or thick. Out of curiosity I tried one of their garden salads and it was large and fresh. Ambiance is drive-in (think OG Sonic), 50's style, fun and casual. I believe you can order ahead and go inside too though I've never done it. The service is okay and it takes a while sometimes. I seems everything is made to order and worth the 15-20 minute wait in my experience. 4.5/5 would recommend, particularly in the new year!

Joe H.

Yelp
Food is okay if you get what you order. The service has been horrible and the lady tonight was rude. Not worth going
google avatar

Yelp
A great quick place to eat after picking up a hungry teen. Just sit in your car and be served. We love Boomer's and the oldies playlist. Classic burger with shredded lettuce and waffle fries and a root beer float or Oreo shake are great. The guacamole bacon burger is also a fave. We've always had great customer service from the young people that work there. My only issue is that sometimes people run their engines the ENTIRE time - I'm marking off a star for this b/c who wants to eat their car burger with the windows down on a nice summer night while inhaling toxic exhaust? I've talked to them before but really wish Boomer's would make this an official policy. "Lights ON & engine OFF for service." And if you're reading this don't be the jerk who runs your engine while at the drive in!
google avatar

Brad F.

Yelp
Average burger, but well worth the experience. Enjoy this charm while Americana still has it. Support local when you can, and the hamburger buns are GREAT.

Yelp
Food was great!! The service is quick and friendly. I love the drive up theme and being able to order and eat in our car. Extremely convenient when we have our dog.

Yelp
Looking for a post game lunch for the team we decided to give the "best local burger joint" a try. It is a drive-in and has a decent sized dine in option as well. Walking in the place was not packed. Boy did we just beat the crowd because halfway through the meal the inside was packed and so was the drive in portion. Quickly decided to go with the Boomer burger along with just a plain cheeseburger and a shake. 1) Burger - was pretty good. Had a good ratio of meat-to-bun, veggies and sauce. 2) Shake - it was a good size of chocolate chip mint shake. My only suggestion would be for a larger straw. It was a bit of a challenge for the kids to use the standard straw and the chocolate chips constantly caused a clog in the skinny straws. The best part is they serve waffle fries! Who doesn't like hot and crispy waffle fries. I only wish they had some blue cheese to go on top of it. The staff was friendly, the dining room was clean and the food was served in a fairly quick turnaround. When in Bellingham and craving a burger, give this place a try. I know I will be back.

J V.

Yelp
We went tonight during Boomuary and the only thing I really wanted was their curly fries but during this BOOMuary event they don't have curly friesWe went around 5:15pm and had to wait for a spot to open up and it was a mad house. You'd think they'd have a better system for making sure that cars who have been waiting get the next spot. We did have a car cut infront of us even though we were obviously waiting. It took about 15 min before we could order and then another 45 min we sat in the car waiting. In total, we were there for 1.5 hours. We will not be coming back during this event at peak hours.

Yelp
As a Yelper, I was initially hesitant to try this place due to the mixed reviews. However, 2 things that really sold me were the low prices and also that this place is always busy whenever I drive by. I pulled up to this quaint drive-in and was quickly greeted by staff that took my order, which came out within 15 minutes. Was it the most uniquely spectacular burger I've had? Not quite. Were the fries slightly colder than they should be? Maybe (it was also cold outside that day...) Was the total meal under $10 for a decent sized burger with fixings and fries? Yes. That final point is a real clincher, especially nowadays where it seems like you can't find a filling dish for less than $15 outside of fast food chain restaurants. I would encourage folks to try this place out. They have some great fries/burgers/milkshake combos and varieties, good burgers with flavorful fries, and a friendly staff. This will be one of my go-to places when I am craving the classic burger and fries combo in town.
google avatar

Yelp
TLDR; ask about the wait upfront, check your order and ask for it bc they don't bring it up right away. Nothing special here except cheap burgers. In town to ski and just waited 40 minutes for cold bc burgers and a wrong order. Had to ask the server to check on our order and she told me it just came up. I felt them and they were cold so she was clearly not telling the truth. I kindly asked why the wait was so long and she said it was booerary and people were filling 200 orders online and they were fine with an hour wait. Locals likely, that's great for them. We were actually there and there was no regard for that fact. She didn't even tell us it was a 40 minute wait until after we paid! Never been to a drive in like that. But overall, nothing special. Just cheap burgers.
google avatar

Ata B.

Yelp
I've just waited for 20 minutes for a burger and a hot dog. They brought me incorrect order, now onto waiting again. This place is a circus It's not what it used to be few years ago. Quality definitely went down and the wait time is much longer, even in the middle of the day when there are barely any cars in line. Again, burgers are mediocre at best. Cheap- sure, but I'd rather pay a few bucks more and get a burger that's worth coming for.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped on the way too Canada. Was ok.. Price was very good along with shake. Had 3 different burgers all ok a step above most fast food burgers. All in all not great but ok. The service was very good, nice friendly staff

Yelp
I visited Boomer's for a quick bite while running errands last ween. It's nice to see an old-timey drive-in here in town, but the service is incredibly slow. Boomer's has your turn on your headlights for service and that leads to people getting waited on completely out of order. The food itself was decent (got the Boomer burger, curly fries, and a drink) and was on par with what you'd get at other drive-ins (local or Sonic). The pricing here is pretty good though, its like they haven't changed their prices for most items since the early 90s. So, if you've for plenty of time to spare and are looking for a burger, this is the place for you. Pro tip: Park in the stalls closest to the building for faster service.
google avatar

M S.

Yelp
I love drive-ins. Boomer's is a good one too, but it's nothing to rant and rave about. I had the Boomer burger, it was good. It was... chewy. The waffle fries were good. Good. I preferred the exterior over the interior. I'll come back and try something different when in town again.

Yelp
I am new to the area figured I'd try it out. The first time the food was good edible cheap & although divey was fine. It has been freezing cold even when it was 35 f outside it was 35f inside. They have no insulation no source of heat except the stoves & since the staff is warm I don't think they know or care that customers are freezing. Everyone wears winter clothes indoors. I'm not sure it's legal to serve the public without a heating source ‍. https://amtrustfinancial.com/blog/small-business/workplace-temperatures-laws Second time I went the food was ok but unfortunately I was nearly assaulted by a customer. She let her children run around bashing into things screaming getting into other peoples tables throwing things hitting each other all the while she was on her cell phone. I made a comment to my own table & this "mother" decided to rush at me & start screaming in my face calling me fat phobic slurs. She says her children have a right to be in public & people should learn to tolerate her children. Yes children who behave & have parents who are parenting do have a right to be in public. But no if ur going to sit on ur cell phone for 20+ while ur children are assaulting each other you need to go home. If you can't control your own child that's not up to staff & other tables to do for you. And being overweight herself & her child was slightly larger she shouldn't be saying bigoted things to strangers let alone in front of her child. You also shouldn't be assaulting other customers. So I'm not sure if this is a common occurrence or a random bigot ‍ I am only sorry to the families at the other tables for when she called me bigoted slurs I did turn around & tell her to not be a fat phobic b... & those tables didn't deserve it but I am not going to allow people to treat me like that & let others think it's ok. I was already leaving when she decided to assault me. I waited 2 weeks to try again but unfortunately tho they finally had the fireplace turned on it still was maybe only about 50-60f inside everyone still wearing jackets indoors. I tried the food and the burger beef was crunchy hard like frozen & not cooked properly. I chose to not eat the rest of my food & went home. I got sick from the food so I don't know I think I may just pass on this place. The first night was so good but it's in only a month gone dow hill fast.

Yelp
The food is delicious. They are well known for delicious burgers, waffles fries and handmade ice cream shakes. It at a 1970's theme diner. You can park and have your food serviced to you in the car or you can just park in the side and eat inside their actual restaurant. The service person I had was charming, she was laid back and calm which I appreciated. However, both times that I have been here they never got my order correctly. They always forget a burger. I would have given this place five stars if that didn't not keep happening to me. The last time I was there I paid for my family and friends to try it only to find out that everyone was able to eat except me. They forgot my burger, for the second time. I watched everyone eat well except me.

Yelp
I love these old style drive in's. Classic burgers, dogs, fries and shakes. I had the combo #1 with a chocolate shake and my wife had the same except with a guacamole burger and sweet potato fries. My son just had a shake (breakfast!). Service was fairly quick and friendly. I wish they used roller skates for the waiters/waitresses! That would be cool. The shakes are awesome and since they use hard ice cream, they come out very very thick. These were the thickest shakes I've ever had. A great experience and a good thing to support the local businesses in the area. Thanks Boomer's!

Abbie H.

Yelp
The food was good but the service was not good. We waited 30 minutes for someone to take our order. The worker kept walking by us and didnt come over to us once. Our lights were on and windows were down. I ended up calling my order in and waited another 30 minutes for my order to be finished. We only got 2 burgers so it wasnt a big order at all. Definitely do not recommend if you are short on time and just dont want to wait over an hour for food.

Yelp
Burger and Chicken sandwich where ok nothing special just average basic food but definitely not worth the wait of 43 minutes

Yelp
Great burgers. I really like the mushroom burger sbc the chicken teriyaki burger. I love the waffle fries too.

Yelp
Great burgers!! Legendary in Bellingham. You can sit in your car in the drive in section or head inside to the dining room. Always very busy but worth the wait. Great young people working there.

We have eaten at Boomers for over 35 years and was always great.... since covid and when they opened again we tried and was so-so. so we figured they needed time to get going again...... we went back this past week and it was not our boomers... hamburgers were little dried out burned pieces of cheap hamburger. Tasteless, very little lettuce and mayo. Barely warm soft waffle fries. all in a bag. Must say their strawberry shake, smaller, more expensive was the best thing there. McDonalds has better burgers and good shakes also..... not worth $21.00 we paid at Boomers. looks like we are done with boomers. Very sad.

The 50s music makes my ears bleed, but foods good and cheapish. That's about it ............
