I decided to go less traditional hotel and more b and b. The area the hotel is located in is charming. I was in the Napoleon suite which was huge and i guess the connection is Napolon was french. It was uniquely decorated and comfortable. i was greeted by text by the female owner and the next day met her husband. Both very gracious and caring. Likely best for a romantic getaway. Only negatives is this room is on the top floor if you have trouble with steps or a heavy suitcase. There is no breakfast but multiple nearby unique places. I recommend taking a charm break from the ordinary hotels now and then.

Located in the heart of the St. Charles historic district as part of the StoneRow (c.1820), fronting Main Street with the Missouri River in the back just a short distance away. There are only 4 rooms, and we stayed in the French Colonial Room on the 1st floor overlooking Main Street. It was a wonderful room with the quirkiness of history, opening to the large "lobby" that transports you back to the early 1800's. There was a basket full of drinks and snacks that came in handy and the location in the center of the historic district made it easy to walk everywhere. The atmosphere of the Inn and town in the evening are incredible, almost like something out of a Hollywood movie set. Easy private parking in the back of the Inn and the owner was wonderful and she gave us a nice overview answering all of our questions. Look forward to a return visit one day.

The inn is ideally located making walking to most things possible. The Inn is historic and kinda cool to stay in but, there are a few things to consider when renting. Whatever is going on in the park is going to sound like it's in your room with you. Octoberfest and all it's bands were with us from morning to 11pm, Friday thru Sunday. Not very relaxing. There are many floor planks in the room that bend while walking over them. I get that it's historic but scared me every time. So we were doing a maze walk trying to stay off the very bendable boards. The shower was great, but the water faucet on the tub was unfinished and looked bad. The body wash was spearmint, menthal, and eucalyptus and hellfire. That soap lit up our personal bits like fire. Not exactly soothing. I wouldn't stay here again for $350 a night. Also where we were told to park was by a tree that dripped sap all over our car and the shrubs/bushes needed trimmed back so you can get up the stairs easier.

If you want to stay in a unique, historical lodging in the center of Old St. Charles - this is it. We stayed in the Thomas Jefferson Suite - which occupies the top floor of the inn. It had a wonderful king size bed, luxury bath, and great sitting room overlooking Main Street. Parking is in the rear of the building. Owners have been key leaders in restoring the entire area. Please note this property does not offer breakfast - which is not problem since there are several good breakfast places nearby.

We absolutely loved staying here. My hubby & I stayed in the Thomas Jefferson room & my friends in the Napoleon room. They were both decorated with beautiful antiques but very comfortable accommodations. Comfy bed & large shower & jetted tub. Highly recommend!

The owners and manager are incredibly nice. The location Surpurb. We were disappointed in the very rustic look and feel of our suite. We wanted an elegant getaway for our anniversary. We stayed in the Jefferson suite which was spacious. The bathroom was outstanding, modern and clean. The furnishings, however, seemed like leftovers from a flea market. As mentioned the owners are so nice. Be sure to add the “French Apéritif”. The owner prepares it by herself with fruits and vegetables from her own garden. |The location of this property with it’s own parking was outstanding.

First time staying and was so happy we chose it! Our Spanish Colonial room was beautiful! Loved the soft lighting and charming feel! Everything felt luxurious from the bedding to the towels, and we appreciated the addition of robes and a mini bar. Loved watching the sunrise on the patio. Venetia was very accommodating and allowed for a flexible check-in which was so appreciated! We will definitely be staying here again!

Boone's Colonial Inn is an amazing place to stay in historic St. Charles. It is like stepping back in time. The decor is perfect with beautiful antiques, and the restoration of the building was clearly done with a great respect for the historical details. I was fortunate enough to stay in the Thomas Jefferson Suite. The bed was so comfortable, and there is the cutest sitting room that looks over the cobblestone street below. The bathroom was amazing! It had a big multi head shower AND a jacuzzi tub! Off the back of the room there's a balcony area that faces the park and river. A perfect place for a cup of coffee in the morning before you take a walk to explore the quaint downtown area. The building also has a common room with wonderful historical furniture and artifacts. This is a GREAT space to rent for a private party. The owners are wonderful and passionate about historic St. Charles. They are very knowledgeable about the area, so they can help you plan whatever you want to do. I highly recommend this unique property, you won't regret it!

Yelp
If I could select zero stars, I would. The only redeeming quality of this establishment was a kind and hard working house keeping staff member. For her I would give five stars.

Yelp
We stayed at the Boone's Colonial Inn for two nights. There are two sister properties, and this is the smaller, more expensive one. Boone's Colonial is not a traditional bed and breakfast. First, there is no one on-sight. You must call before arrival and the innkeeper will let you in and give you the keys. Second, there isn't a breakfast, though there are snacks and water. Finally, they do have nightly housekeeping. In regards to staying, there are pros and cons. 1. We stayed in the French Colonial suite. This suite is street level and walks out onto the pedestrian sidewalk. It wasn't overly noisy, but lacked privacy. Lots of people walked by and glanced into the windows of our room. Also, you can hear street traffic at night though that died down after midnight. I thought the "right in the heart of it" location was fun once I got over the initial shock. 2. There was another couple on the first floor with us staying in the Spanish Colonial suite. That room is also street level but faces the back alley. It has a queen bed, the French has a king. We did not hear them at all which was a pleasant surprise in an old building. 3. The room had its own air conditioner but I'm not convinced it worked. Well, it worked, but I don't think it ever got as cool as we wanted at night. 4. We brought our son and they made a little cot up for him which was very nice. 5. The room is missing a few comforts including an ironing board, a safe, lotion, a fan, and we only had two pillows. 6. The room has Netflix. 7. I had read on the Inn's site that it came with French bath products and a Colonial nightgown set. It did not. The bath products and towels were definitely a missed opportunity to make the stay extra special. The products were all mismatched samples and the towels were worn. 8. The bed is very comfortable. We slept well. Overall, at $250 per night, I think the price is a little much for what you get, but it's a very nice room and the location seems safe and fun. We were most definitely comfortable.

Yelp
Booked last minute breezing through on I 70 and so glad. Contactless check in, clean, and cozy. They allow dogs too. Venetia took my call and answered every question. Everything was as advertised. This place is a fun historic gem (right next to the water).
