Boot Inn, Eskdale Valley

We stopped off for some lunch and the food was absolutely amazing! All home made and fresh. The staff were very friendly and made sure everything was correct and good. The prices are a little on the higher side but the food is amazing and I would pay so much more for the quality and quantity we received! I recommend the steak and ale pie as it was the best pie I had ever eaten and the sandwiches were amazing.

We stumbled across this cosy country pub while looking for somewhere to have a drink, but the warm welcome and charming atmosphere quickly tempted us to stay longer—and we’re so glad we did. The setting is absolutely lovely, with a peaceful, countryside feel that makes you instantly relax. What really stood out was the vegan menu- thoughtfully put together, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. It’s rare to find such a good range of plant-based options in a traditional pub setting, and every dish we tried was delicious. We only wish we’d booked to stay the night here instead of elsewhere—it was the kind of place you don’t want to leave. A real gem. We’ll definitely be back!

Another fantastic stay at The Boot Inn and in Boot itself. We had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away. Comfortable clean room with lovely views. Very friendly and hardworking staff and extremely good food at Breakfast and in the evening. It always seems to be sunny in Boot as well!. A Big thank you to Stuart and Anita. We will be back again.

Just had a sumptuous Easter Sunday Lunch. We had beef, lamb and nut roasts. All beautifully cooked, and real care taken about every aspect of the meal. Cannot recommend too highly. Also know from past visits that the menu is great, varied and all home cooked.

Popped in today for lunch while walking and so glad we did, perfect pub! The food was wonderful (especially the cheese and potato pie!), the staff were super friendly and the beer superb! All in all couldn't be better! 👍

We stayed at the Boot Inn for one night after recently calling in for lunch. The inn is in a beautiful situation with stunning views and is a perfect base for walkers. We stayed in room one which had views of the hills in all directions. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bar closed at 11, so there was no noise The staff are super friendly and efficient and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back.

This is my happy place, stayed here twice now and plan to return for the rest of my days. The food is second to none. The drink selection and ambience are perfect. There are so many fantastic walks and experiences nearby.

Food was delicious, the pork belly special was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Staff were very friendly and professional. Nice outdoor area and good seating inside. A short easy walk from the campsite next door.

Great pub with a pretty good selection of beer and some decent food. The location is superb and if you are staying in Boot you will no doubt be dropping in. More locals than the other pubs in Boot and plenty of chat to be had at the bar!! Good place for a cold refreshment if you are coming down off the hills!

The Boot Inn is situated in the tiny hamlet of Boot in the beautiful Eskdale Valley in the Lake District. It's a favourite haunt for walkers and camper (the delightful Eskdale caravan and camping site is 2 minutes walk away). It's an excellent country pub providing good, honest pub grub and lots of local real ales. There's a terrific beer garden out the back with a decent children's play area - it's very family friendly and dogs are very welcome too. Inside there's a good sized bar area and pool table plus a TV set and helpfully they also post the latest weather forecast on the walls which is very useful if you're planning to venture off on a fell walk in the surrounding countryside. Staff are friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable.
