Boot Inn, Eskdale Valley

We stayed a few feet from the pub in a cottage. We both got different meals and they were amazing, couldn’t fault them one bit. The service was very friendly and quick too. Best food from a pub I’ve had by far.

We stayed for only 1 night a few weeks ago. The welcome is warm, staff are friendly. ||The evening meal was delicious, generous portions and a very fair price. Highly recommend the lamb Henry and crumble. ||The rooms are ok, but basic and tired but the bed was comfy and clean. Overall I would stay again.

The Boot is a traditional Inn, delivering friendly service in a small hamlet of Cumbria. |Staff were attentive and great company adding local knowledge and experience when asked. Dougie was exceptionally good with his friendly and kind service, he managed to find us a table near the roaring fire, a bottle of champagne on request and delivered food of a very high standard serving the usual traditional fayre of pies and roasts along with a choice of speciality curries all superbly cooked and presented beautifully. |Bedrooms tastefully decorated, with wooden furniture and tartan carpets , the bed linen was Oxford white and crisp, towels fluffy and homemade shortbread on the dresser.

December 25th 2024 was the second time we had Xmas lunch at the Boot Inn. We had looked forward this this for some weeks, and we were not disappointed. The service and the quality of the meal were both excellent. The staff are so welcoming, and the whole experience meant that we had a great holiday again in Boot. Thanks to all at the Boot Inn. Again!

Stopped in here for dinner one evening. It was very busy so I'd recommend reserving at the weekend. Food was great and quick to come out piping hot! I had the cheese and onion pie. Good vegetarian/vegan options on own menu. Dog friendly and good choice of drinks and local ales.

Can't praise this place enough! We had a last minute change of plan and they were more than happy to help us. Friendly staff, amazing food (the cheese and onion pie was delicious and the breakfast was one of the best we've had!) and a quiet and comfortable room. We will be back!

Absolutely fabulous food today. Home made corned beef pie was one of the best things I've eaten fir a while and the gravy was delicious. Excellent service one again. It's becoming one of our favourite places to go for a warm and refil after a day out walking.

Excellent location, good range of beers. Food is freshly cooked and high quality. Great access to the hills. Really. Quality rooms and hot showers. A great choice.
