Bootleggers Bar, Grill and Pizza

Great atmosphere! If you like small town vibes this strip is where it's at! This place is fun! I'll be back!!

It's a very nice bar in an old bank building. We had the Reuben sandwich, it was very good. They are also known for their pizza.

Had fun , went with my son…great waitress , accidentally spilled my leftovers hotdog on me!! It was hilarious ! Great sense of humor, Yes we will go back. Lot of Chicago Bears memorabilia., Great food and fries were perfect.

My family and I had a burial service at a cemetery in Maple Park this past Saturday 6/7. We were expecting around 20 people to attend. We planned on going to Bootleggers for lunch afterword. My daughter called the Monday before and set everything up. Gave them the number of people and what time we would be there. We arrived and they had no idea that we were coming. Whomever took the phone call on Monday didn't relay the info to the Saturday staff. All that being said, our server, I did not get her name, crushed it. She had the whole place to wait on, and she did a fantastic job. She didn't get frustrated (at least at what I could tell), she kept our drinks refilled. She was great. The only issue was the made my wife's sandwich wrong, but that is not the servers fault. She corrected the problem and all was well. I can not say enough good things about this server. You have a good one with her, let me tell you. The only bummer, pizza was not available for lunch. Keven Foulk

The food was excellent, the service was even better. Will definitely be back with friends and family. The burger was very tasty and I found out it was sourced locally! Love that!

A classic small-town bar with a friendly, welcoming (albeit gruff) atmosphere. The food has been very tasty, well cooked, and quick the times I've been and there's a surprising variety for a bar. There's not a ton of options in Maple Park but Bootleggers would get a recommend from me even if there were.

Looks like a nice place from the outside. Ordered a hot dog with a salad and unsweetened ice tea. Hot dog was terrible. Very greasy and bun was rock hard. Salad was good for what ya got which was some lettuce and diced tomatoes and a lot of croutons. Ice tea very weak. Server Erin did a great job. I recommend you dine elsewhere

Amazing service and food!! My friend Kirk and I had the pizza and it was delicious. Our server Nicole was so sweet and kept checking on us. The owner Danielle is awesome as well and they have a great place!! We definitely will be back!!

We love this place. The food is always great, whether you order a thin crust pizza, homemade soup, or their amazing fried chicken (literally some of the best I've ever had), you won't be disappointed. The owners are so nice and down to earth. I can't say enough good things!

Danielle is the best owner ever! She pours every ounce of love she has into every drink or food she served me. I can't wait to come back for more!

The service was out standing and the pizza was great. It's a thin crust with plenty of toppings. We will be going back. This sleepy little town has a gem.

Pizza is below average, it's paper thin and not worth $22. It's a step above a frozen pizza. Burgers were blah Fries are very plain no taste Pork tenderloin was not good Appetizers were all mediocre Skip it, The 2 bars up the street are much better

Stopped in for lunch with a large group. The staff was friendly, fun and accommodating. We were passing through and the staff made our group comfortable. The tables have special shelves underneath to stow your drink while playing cards. Clever. Bathroom was clean. The food was great as well. Several of us ordered burgers with different toppings and they got them all right. The meat was tasty and juicy. The staff said the beef was slaughtered locally which was appreciated. You can tell by the taste of the burgers. I ordered the sweet potato fries and they arrived with a unique and delicious mayo/maple sauce. Other in the group complimented the onion rings. Plus, they have both Coke and pepsi products available for soft drink snobs. Everyone agreed that a return trip was warranted to explore more of the menu.

There's so much to love about Bootleggers. Their pizza is amazing. I'm (mostly) vegetarian and the server recommended their pizza, even though their kitchen was closed. They home-make pizza and freeze some to be available when pizza isn't happening. When the server said "frozen pizza," I wasn't super excited but it was the best cheese pizza! They let me know that you can always call ahead for them to make or keep a specific pizza to buy frozen for carryout or when the pizza kitchen is closed. Occasionally I'll be naughty and get a burger there cause they're just so good. They (almost always) season their burgers really well so it's super flavorful. Their appetizers are fun and unexpected as well. The staff is usually really chill. Donna, the owner, is the sweetest thing ever, and her husband is super sweet and fun but with some rough edges. I admit that the interior could really use a tune up but all their food and hospitality certainly make up for it.

First of all the owners are amazing, and also friendly bartenders! They have great daily specials, and awesome homemade soups! The cabbage/sausage or creamy mushroom soups are probably my favorites!

My wife and I stopped here for the first time over the weekend. Met the staff and they were excellent and very welcoming. The owner Tony was a pleasure to meet and treated us like gold! We only had the sampler platter... but the fried green beans were SO good!! Tony even let us sample different sauces he recommended. Very reasonably priced drinks and food. We both intend on coming back for the pizza in the near future...

9:15 we walk into the bar. I ask the bartender " can I order food ?" He says " no. The kitchen is closed ". Ok I get that. 10:15 I am leaving. People at the bar are receiving a hot pizza. WTH. I ask the same bartender why they get food and I could not order - he replies " oh that was pre-made -sorry!" Really !?!?

First off, we would never have found this place without the help of Yelp. We had a baseball game not too far away and this place came up with some great reviews. Having some time to kill before the next game, we decided to try it... Let's just say it is a true diamond in the rough. The owner is so friendly and appreciates each and every customer that comes in. He goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. The soup of the day was cabbage and sausage (not something that sounded great to me)...and without asking brings out a small bowl for us to try....to my surprise it was very delicious. Our family got cheese curds and corn nuggets as an appetizer, but since we didn't try one of his favorites, he brought that out for us to try too...fried green beans. Each of us tried something different and each of loved what we received. Tried the Italian beef, sweet chili chicken sandwich, grilled chicken salad and the boot blt... Must try and worth the drive. Supposedly the pizza is awesome, but they do not serve until after 5:00 pm. We will be back again soon to try that!!! The beer garden looked inviting as well, but since it was 92...we enjoyed the cool AC. Awesome job to the owners!!!!

Terrific food and service. Owner Tony is a gem and makes you feel so welcome the minute you walk in the door. We came in for lunch after a baseball game with a big group and they were so accommodating. Best burger and sweet potato fries I've had in a long time! Stop in if you're in the area for sure.

Surprised my daughter with a visit wanted food somewhere close. She's been here before and said the pizza was good. We had good conversation with our pizza.

On a casual Saturday afternoon we stop by there on a recommendation by a friend. The owner was out in the parking lot was super friendly to us. It was a Saturday and he said pizza was not on until 5 p.m. But he recommended the beef. I would have to say their beef n cheddar besides being the biggest I've ever seen is also the best... You'll never go back to Portillos and think the same way about them lol...

Hidden Gem Stopped after a baseball game thanks to yelp. This place was great. Meat fresh from local farmer. Owner / Bartender super friendly and welcoming. Great for families.

Bootleggers ROCKS! Bootleggers is more than pizza as well. They used to just do pizza in the back of the Pub and Grill located next to their current location. Now that they are a stand alone restaurant, they have a full lunch and dinner menu. They have daily specials that are excellent that range from pot roast, chicken, beef and seafood. The restaurant is family friendly for dinner and then becomes more of a bar crowd once dinner wraps up, and rightfully so. The pizza is some of the best around. GREAT thin crust pizza. Their motto is "come as a stranger, and leave as a friend", and speaks loudly of the fun and inviting atmosphere. This is a hangout for the community and is still very inviting for anyone that doesn't live local. The more, the merrier! The staff and owners are always on their game and friendly. Look for live music on some weekends and themed parties around the holidays. And last but not least, the owners know what it means to give back to the community!!! They constantly support fundraisers for individuals and the community as needs arise! This speaks volume to me and shows that they aren't in business for the sheer fact of making a buck. It's all about community, family and repeat business at "The Boot"!!

Best food around town! Love their fries and pizza. Soups of the day are also great. Owners & staff are also super friendly and the place is always clean. Only room for improvement--get NFL Ticket! :)
