Visited Bopet Mini, a legendary spot in Benhil, Jakarta, for authentic Padang cuisine. It’s conveniently located near Jalan Sudirman, making it a great stop for anyone in the area. The place has moved back to its original location, now tucked into a side street, away from the main Benhil street. The good news is, they’ve expanded to 3 floors, so there’s definitely more space compared to before (or maybe it is just my feeling, but at least it feels more comfortable).
We kicked things off with a Nasi Padang (which, yes, we had for breakfast—only at Bopet Mini, right?). The flavors were spot on, with each dish reflecting true Padang authenticity. The Lontong Sayur Padang was equally impressive, bursting with bold, delicious flavors.
We also tried Bubur Kampiun, which was tasty but could’ve been a little thicker for that perfect texture. One of the highlights was the Salalauak, a must-try Padang snack.
We couldn’t leave without picking up a few treats like Pinokuik (the Padang-style pancake), Kripik Balado, and Lupis to bring home—my dad always insists on these! Highly recommend visiting for anyone who wants to indulge in genuine Padang flavors.
