Bordeaux Wine Trails - Wine tours

My husband and I did this biking wine tour as part of our honeymoon and it was our favorite activity, by far! All of the staff was absolutely amazing, including Jonathan T. who helped me with questions both before and after our excursion, as well as our tour guide for the day. The picnic lunch was to die for-- I'm convinced the soup that we were served is the best we've ever eaten. Riding through the French countryside to a medeival village is unlike any experience we will ever have again. Don't hesitate to book this activity, it is worth every penny and you will not be disappointed!

My extended family, and I, had an incredible experience with Jonathan on this amazing guided tour. Jonathan is patient, fun to be around, and extremely knowledgeable. The scenery, bikes, camaraderie, conversation, wine, food, the history, and the town of St Emilion make this experience far worth it. The two vineyards were incredibly accommodating. Colleen and Frank both did stellar jobs. The lunch was delicious. We had quiche, and salad, and a charcuterie board. This was followed by a strawberry cheesecake. We had plenty of time to see the town of St Emilion. The countryside is beyond description. The wines were spectacular. It was just a wonderfully blessed day.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Bordeaux Wine Trails. Jonathan, our tour leader, was an absolute pro! The tour is approximately 15km centered around the village of St. Emilion, which is a magical little town outside of Bordeaux. We toured 2 vineyards, had a nice picnic at one with a locally curated gourmet lunch, and got to explore St. Emilion. Jonathan really applied his knowledge of wine from his previous career as a sommelier to find small, intimate vineyards that produce really tasty wine. The winemakers we met were passionate about their terroir and the wines they produce. I felt like an honored guest on this tour. The e-bikes we used were in good working order. I loved riding on the small roads right through the vines. There are beautiful vistas from the tops of the rolling terrain. It was an incredible day! I HIGHLY recommend this tour, specifically with this company, because of this expertise and fun. Merci a vous, Jonathan!!!

This was not your generic set of tours, as he personally helped curate everything to ensure that we had a great time. First off, Clém was incredibly knowledgeable about all things wine, the region, and the historical significance of the buildings around us—his passion for this area of France really came through. I admire that and appreciate the authenticity of the information he shared with us. We opted for the e-biking tour (not the van tour), and it was an absolute highlight of our trip. It felt so much more immersive to breathe in the fresh country air, hear the sounds of the vineyards, and leisurely cycle through the scenic roads. It gave us a sense of being truly connected to the land and the culture in a way that sitting in a van behind windows just couldn’t provide. The structure of the tour was perfect—cohesive, well-paced, and without any rush. Each stop was thoughtfully planned, allowing us to enjoy the wineries and the stunning countryside without feeling hurried. We also loved how Clém and the team balanced their in-depth knowledge with a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. It made for an enriching yet fun experience. Overall, this tour is worth every penny, and we can’t recommend Bordeaux Wine Trails enough. Outstanding experience. Jon got us access to some of the most beautiful vineyards of the Saint-Émilion. He also arranged a beautiful lunch and a fun tour of the village. He went out of his way to ensure our experience was the best possible, including recommendations for the rest of our stay in Bordeaux and Paris.

His deep knowledge of wine, Bordeaux history, and the local culture, combined with his friendly and hospitable demeanor, made the tour both informative and fun. He truly went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and engaged. One of the highlights of our day was visiting Chateau de Sales in Pomerol. The barrel tasting and wine tasting in their stunning tasting room were exceptional. The wines were so incredible that we couldn’t resist shipping a box home! Another unforgettable stop was Chateau Franc Mayne, where the tour of their caves—used to age their wines—was absolutely spectacular. The combination of history, craftsmanship, and ambiance made this a truly memorable experience. The walking tour through St. Emilion was magical. This picturesque medieval town was like stepping back in time, with its charming cobblestone streets and historic landmarks. We even enjoyed a bottle of champagne at a scenic spot overlooking the town and surrounding vineyards—pure perfection. Lunch was delicious, though the restaurant seemed a bit overwhelmed with the crowd. There was a mix-up with one of the orders and a hiccup with our pre-ordered special meal, but that was the only blip of the otherwise great day. Overall, this bespoke tour, organized by the wonderful Chloe, was everything we had hoped for and more. If you're looking for a personalized wine tour experience in Bordeaux, we can’t recommend Bordeaux Wine Trails highly enough. We’re already dreaming of our next visit!
