Good customer serivce. Fast serivce not a long wait time. The Ice cream tasted really good. Fair prices for the amount of ice cream you get. Sit inside or outside and enjoy Ice cream or other items from there meau like hot dogs, nachos etc.

Fun ice cream shop with bar seating, tables, and booths. They have a small parking lot and a drive through. We enjoyed a cone of moose tracks ice cream with the gold dip topping and a lemon sorbet freeze.

Really old business but looks new . Very clean and well maintained place. The staff were so pleasant and helpful and the ice cream was delicious. I highly recommend you go visit them if you are in the area .

The ice cream was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! so flavorful and creamy, and the prices were so cheap!! You get huge amounts of ice cream for a small price!! The workers were friendly and nice, and the place was so retro and cute!! I loved it! Will definitely be coming back, even if it is an hour away!!

Pleasant place to enjoy your ice cream.They have a good variety and prices are very reasonable.They even have puddings which they sell in gallons .3 big gallons of ice cream in around 44$ .You can enjoy with family whole of your summers .Menu is attached .I got this chocolate pudding big 3 gallon box in same price .They have slightly increased prices for some other flavors which goes around 58$ for 3 gallons. They have variety of sprinkles and other items which kids love on their ice creams .They even have malts which are too good,cookies,sorbet,shakes and what not.Sowhat are you waiting for please go and enjoy!! They even have ample of parking space ,so no worries .Even outdoor seating is available to enjoy the road side view in the evening 🌆

Grandkids enjoyed chocolate ice cream on cones. My husband and I shared a delicious banana split! Great family friendly little hangout! Will be visiting again!

I grew up having Borden's Ice Cream as my treat. I'm so glad I can come home and they are still in business 😀 The building has changed new look but still great service and ice cream. And of course prices increased: strawberry shake,single scoup waffle cone and 2 hot dogs $16. Thanks Borden, stay forever!

We stopped here after a trip to the Lafayette Science Museum. The kids enjoyed their ice cream sundaes, shakes, and root beer floats. I ordered "The Kip," which is a delicious frozen coffee. The ice cream shoppe was clean, fairly quiet (only a few other people were there while we were), and the staff was quick with our orders. It was the perfect stop on the way home!

A quaint busy classic ice cream parlor. Go, line up, get one of many ice cream dippers to make a mouthwatering sundae. It's loud, lots of kids, and nostalgic. In a hurry? You may want to go through their drive-through.

My, oh, my! Splendiferous. Maybe the best ice cream I've ever had. Lots of choices of flavors. However you want it: cup, come, sundae, shake, soda (and I know I'm missing some options). The sundaes we chose allowed for up to 3 flavors of ice cream, the toppings and whipped cream were very, very good. The servings are quite large. Plenty of seating and parking. Great service!!

We arrived probably 30 minutes before they were going to close and yet the service was still top notch! We don't have a Borden's near us but we would most definitely be back if we did!

Huge let down! Was not good. Lady didn't tell me the size and cookie was so hard as a rock and not warm. This is definitely not good. I felt rushed. And the atmosphere was nice. But I wouldn't come here again. Over priced and rushed.

Borden's has my heart!!! Oddly enough this is one of my go-to places for a coffee, they've got a variety of flavors and they also have espresso! The ice cream is top notch, of course. And the drive-thru is a game changer

went there and asked for hot dogs and got nachos instead. They claim to have good nachos so i decided just to go with it. It was the lowest quality nachos I have ever had. The chips were stale and got soggy really fast and the cheese tasted very very artificial.

Great old fashion soda fountain. The chocolate mint ice cream was small bowl was huge and very good. The coffee ice cream was not to strong but very smooth. The woman who served us was excellent.

A step back in time to a genuine ice cream parlor, lovingly restored. If it takes a little longer to get your order, it's because you are getting personal service. Delicious ice cream treats, hot dogs. There is a drive through, but be patient , it is popular.

During our driving trip from Texas to Mississippi, we stopped here for a quick treat. What a cute ice cream & snack place! It's really quaint & charming, too. The ice cream was delicious! This place is fire!!! I have been here twice. Once for food and another time for ice cream. The hot dogs are huge and the scones are absolutely delicious. I tried a chocolate nut sundae and was impressed on the load of toppings they put on it. It was covered in chocolate sauce and walnuts. Every bite I took was pure heaven. The whipped cream and cherry topped it off perfectly. The staff are very friendly and like to joke around with the customers. Will be back to try new things soon!

Best ever! And is an Icon in Lafayette La . I went there as a child with my family and as a teenager dating went there with friends and boyfriends. Just about everyone I know in Lafayette and surrounding towns have been there! Truly the best memories I have! The banana split is awesome!

My grandfather used to come to Borden's Ice Cream Shoppe everyday after classes at University of Louisiana in Lafayette. I feel like I have a deep connection to this place and I hope that it stays open for many years to come.

Nostalgia overload when you step through the door! The service is great and there is an abundance of sweet treats in a relaxed location that's like stepping back in time. I absolutely love coming here!

Borden's should be better than it is. Sure, it has the iconic name, the service is good and the old timey interior is worth the price of admission but the ice cream is just average.

Very cute place. Gives off very old school vibes which is so cute and refreshing. Staff were super friendly and upbeat. Offered to describe different menu items. Made sure everyone was taken care of before moving on to the next group of people. I got the dip cone with regular chocolate and cookies and cream. It was a larger portion than I was expect. Which is great!! No complains here. Great place to it up for some after dinner dessert.

If you love ice cream get it here. I got the strawberry on a waffle cone. Real strawberries, generous helping, oh so good. My husband got the vanilla malt and it was very good. I prefer hand scooped ice cream when I get it and this is just the place. They have a large menu with all kinds of options. Definitely try it out if you've got a sweet tooth.

I just had to come here to get the gold brick topping on whatever I ordered. I grew up eating gold brick candy. I had a rocky road waffle cone and they were able to dip this into the topping. Convenient location and there's some outdoor seating if the weather is nice.

Just had the worst chocolate milk shake I have ever had. This can't possibly be Borden's ice cream. It had absolutely no flavor. I don't know if they are trying to cut costs or what but I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. They used to be so great. Not sure what changed.

Cutest little step back in time! We visited on a rainy night when our other plans fell through and I'm so glad we did! Delicious ice cream and shakes! Can't wait to come back!

Our first stop in Lafayette on our weekend getaway was this little historic ice cream shop. (Thank you Yelp app for helping us to find it!) It proudly boasts about how it is the same now as it was when it opened many years ago. The ice cream was okay but the staff were very friendly and we enjoyed ourselves! The shop has your standard ice cream flavors but nothing to write home about. The only flavor that may be unique to this location would be pralines and cream. However, they do offer a "homemade ice cream sandwich" where they will put four small scoops of the ice cream flavor of your choice in between two cookies of your choosing. I got cookies and cream ice cream in M&M's cookies and it was delicious! My boyfriend got a sundae which was also great!

Let me start off with, when it comes to getting ice cream at a place, I am hands down a DQ girl. Well that was until Saturday. I had the pleasure of being introduced to this fine establishment and the rest is history. Walking in the door, I felt like a kid that wanted to touch all the fabulous things. I felt like I was in a Grease movie, it just touched the inner kid. I was in total amazement. I tried to keep myself contained because, I did have kids that didn't seem to be as excited as I was; whomp whomp. I wanted EVERYTHING in there, but I settled for a scoop (which was more than enough) of chocolate ice cream with whipped cream. It took me a really long time to eat that delicious scoop of ice cream, because I didn't want my tongue to cry or have a temper tantrum. You better believe I will be back and I want to sit at the counter, lol!

Friend took me to his oldest and only remaining Bordens Ice Cream shop. Worth the trip!

I honestly had forgotten about this place until I saw an article about this being the last one in the country in operation. We ended up getting the Banana Split which believe me, was big enough for two. Our Banana Split ($7.68) came with the banana of course, Vanilla, Strawberry and Pistachio Ice Cream. It was topped with Pineapple, Strawberries and whipped Cream on one side ( I don't like whip cream) and a cherry on top. This was a pretty good with the strawberry ice cream and pistachio ice cream tasting really good. The vanilla one was just okay. The strawberries and pineapple topping were great. Decent customer service and prices.

An old fashioned ice cream shop with a beautiful interior. The price of the atmosphere is reflected in a high price for their average ice cream. My wife and I had two scoop cones without anything extra. Cost was $11.00. Service was good and fast. Everything was clean. Large parking lot. Would prefer a lower price for the ice cream.

Not a bad place to take the fam. Prices are between 2.50 and 7 for the frozen treats. Sure there are other more trendy places. The service was friendly and fast. And most off all the place was clean, including the restrooms. Overall Sanitation is a easy indicator of food safety. The ice cream we ordered was tasty and reminiscent of old memories. If your in the downtown area, stop by.

It's an old Timey ice cream shop that probably is only still in existence because it's a nostalgic place to go. I enjoy the ice cream here but it's really nothing super special. We always have a good time we go but it just lacks some of the flare of Seiyu marble slab creamery or Maggie moos.

If you have a couple of hours to waste just go sit in the drive through line at this place. Slow isn't the proper word to use here.......... This is literally unbelievable and that's a HUGE understatement!

Best icecream in Lafayette. Nothing beats the quality. I love getting their vanilla waffle cone. Might sound silly but its hard to find waffle cones anywheres else so its such a treat when I get one here.

I went to bordens just to be disappointed. I ordered two Scoops of cookies and crème ice cream With the chocolate hard shell on it. I didn't realize till I left that the hard shell had nuts in it. (That I'm allergic to) so I turned around to have them redo it. A guy working the window (with brown hair parted down the middle, tan skin) told me that he would have to charge me another $5 for the whole order because it was my fault. But I had specificallg said the chocolate hard shell. Normally everything is great but that really just was wrong and rude. horrible service today.

Such a cute shop! We just happened to drive by and decided that we needed to stop there for dessert after my coworkers and I went to dinner. We were not disappointed! This place definitely hits you with a nostalgic feel the moment you walk in the door and their ice cream and other treats were incredible! This is a MUST VISIT if you are in Lafayette!

As the only remaining Borden's Ice Cream joint left the ambiance of this place is at least four stars but the ice cream is definitely not anything special. I end up grabbing some dessert satisfaction in this establishment when I stay across the street at the Blue Moon Saloon & Guesthouse so the combination of these two cool places in such close proximity makes this a very awesome area! If you're in Lafayette this is definitely a must visit spot for some vintage charm.

Was craving for ice cream one night, and decided to give this place a shot. The decor is really dated, but I believe thats what they were aiming for.. I wanted frito pies, but they did not have any.. probably because they were almost closing.. The workers here seemed like they weren't to happy to work, or that I came in 20 minutes before closing.. I forgot what flavor ice cream I had got, but it was pretty decent.. We had also got the milk shake, it was also decent..

Who knew!!!?? Borden's anything still exists? Back in 70s we would have had a lot of Borden's products in our home. Blast from the past. Thank you time machine. Stop in!! Just a plain large vanilla shake for me and delicious. Like Borden's vanilla shake is simple and simply awesome.

First time here, read menu on Yelp, and will be back! I used the drive thru and the 2 guys were super friendly. The young man from Alexandria, and I know because he asked how my evening was going, rare! From that question I discovered he was from Alexandria. Most young people aren't that friendly in the service industry even when depending on tips. His friendliness and the superb ice cream make it 5 star worthy. We'll definitely take the drive, return, and brag to others!

This place is a MUST SEE if you're ever passing through Lafayette. I ordered a coffee malt at the recommendation of the girl working the ice cream counter. I said gimme something not boring - I have a tendency to just order a chocolate scoop of ice cream & wanted something special from a special place like this. The ice cream parlor had a stead stream of traffic, even a customer telling the owner he remembered coming in there as a child (!) I'm debating the drive back when I'll be in Lake Charles in a week or so. I think the coffee malt just might be worth the trip!
