We arrived at their cocktail bar full of excitement, ready to toast the end of a gruelling 120-mile charity cycle. It was meant to be a moment of joy, of relief, of well-earned indulgence. Instead, it turned into one of the most bizarre and disappointing experiences I’ve ever had.||We walked in and took our seats at the completely deserted bar, having been advised that cocktails and light lunches were being served on the first floor. No staff in sight. After waiting awkwardly for ten minutes, we went to find someone, assuming perhaps they were busy or short-staffed. What we were told next was astonishing: “There’s no staff today, so we can’t serve you.”||No apology. No explanation. Just a shrug. ||To say this was far from five-star service would be generous. It wasn’t even one-star. It was no-star. A cocktail bar with no cocktails, no service, and no sense of hospitality. For a light lunch and a few cocktails that were supposed to mark the end of a meaningful challenge, it felt like a slap in the face.||If you’re looking for a place to celebrate something special, ir even just cocktails I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere. I can’t image how bad it is to stay there!!!!
