Google
I wish I had known this coffee spot earlier! Great coffee and food! The service was friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it!

Google
A lovely coffee shop with friendly welcoming staff. English available if you get stuck with your french. Great tasting coffee (V60), lovely hot chocolate, great cakes. Friendly atmosphere - the place in Geneva I saw the most young adults (20-30s). Super vibe!

Oh how I loved this place while visiting Geneva. Their coffee is extra tasty and the cream cheese bagel is so delicious!! Cookies too were amazing. I bought a mug from there to keep the good souvenirs

Google
The best place in Geneva for getting work done. You will find tons of professionals, students on their laptops working on their deadlines. Gets you motivated to finish yours. A very warm vibe of the place otherwise also. If you’re a student, don’t forget to collect the free drink cat cards and definitely check out their hot chocolate.

Google
Vibes of coffee very nice, I ordered raspberry lemon bread, carrot cake and cortado, coffee was not bad, but the art of coffee so weird, cause just put milk inside coffee without patiently how it will be fair to art. Carrot cake and lemon raspberry bread very tasty I loved it, and staff very helpful.

Google
We got the Flat White, Vanilla Latte, Matcha Cookie and Lemon Coconut Cheesecake bar. The atmosphere was great. The baristas were very nice and spoke both English and French. Both coffees were phenomenal. The pastries were great as well especially the matcha cookie.

Google
The atmosphere and seating area is much better than the coffee itself. There was some flavour to the 7.6 flat white but the milk work was far too lax and the bitterness came through. A lack of smoothness spoilt it.

Google
Cool place in Geneva with speciality coffees, I tried some filtered coffees from Rouanda and Ethiopia, both were smooth, with a rich fruity palette, the one from Rouanda was a bit softer for my taste, with subtle earthy notes. Both made a very good impression. The staff are friendly, the selection of coffees is huge, the place is cosy and quite busy, so I was not the only one who enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

Yelp
TL;DR USA USA USA people working on laptops. lattes that are 90% milk, 10% espresso. iced coffee that is just coffee with ice. not that sugar, whipped cream funny business. the closest thing to the states you can get in good old geneve. warms my heart. in this case cools my heart with that iced coffee. heart emoji.

Yelp
We stopped here twice in the day we were in Geneva In the morning, we chose their Flat Whites - we had read the coffee was a bit weak but I wrongly opted to not order the extra shot. Next time I would go for it It was a pleasant coffee but a bit too creamy for me We also ordered a vegetarian sandwich with egg, avocado & tomato as well as their triple chocolate muffin.....which was among the best I've ever had! Super moist and chocolatty - this was almost like a molten cake but in muffin form In the afternoon, we stopped by again to grab another chocolate muffin and this time we also grabbed a Camembert sandwich & to try their cold brew - again, the coffee was weak & sorry to say but the cold brew at Starbucks is far superior So huge 5-stars for their food items but their coffee needs more depth & richness

Yelp
It's a great spot to hang out and work / browse the internet, since their wifi is really fast and reliable (I was getting 100mbps+). The pasties are pretty disappointing, I'm pretty sure they're just the packaged brands you get in grocery stores in the US (or something of that quality). Didn't get a chance to try out any drinks - but I'm sure those are better than their food offerings.

Yelp
Lovely coffee shop with great pastries and coffee coupled with a peaceful, yet lively ambience percect for relaxing or doing a little bit of work. Service was quick and tidy - my group and I received our orders within 5 minutes. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Visited Boreal on a Wednesday around 9:30am. The place has around 8 small tables inside and a bit outside. Although we came here for breakfast, their breakfast choices are very limited and might be the standard for Europe but if you are used to American breakfast places you will be disappointed with the choices. We got a coffee and a small croissant as something to fill us up before we search for another breakfast place . The coffee was really good and the croissant as well hence the four stars.

Yelp
I was looking for a coffee shop with wifi, and I came across this spot. I like the space as there are couches, tables, and counter seats all around, but it gets really crowded. The wifi is fast, and the area is comfortable. It's not the cleanest though. I ordered a small hot chocolate, and it tasted watered down as it didn't have too strong of a great chocolate taste. All the drinks were quite pricey at more than 4 euros each for a small, although the cashiers and baristas were friendly.

Yelp
Quick, friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Fiancé loved the latte he ordered. Couldn't ask for more from a coffee place, right?

Mandy R.

Yelp
Keeping in mind everything is overpriced and double what it should cost in Geneva. I didn't give 4 stars because of the ambiance and pastries & the quality of coffee didn't make up for this. I got a V60 pour over of the Honduras. It was good, roasted light, clean taste & flavorful but not extraordinarily better to warrant the 6$ price tag or the ambiance. (Also as a disclaimer I am a bit of a coffee snob). The bags of beans though are reasonable in comparison to the brewed coffee. The big problem for me was the pastries and shop itself. Some muffins had Otis S (American over processed brand) & none of the pastries looked homemade or unique. The cookie I got was incredibly dry and 3$. The place was so busy and hectic I felt rushed through the line- as they prepared 4-5 people at once. Felt like a Starbucks in line. Maybe I need to try another location but I won't go out of my way if a place doesn't have good pastries to go with the hopefully locally roasted coffee. I'm going to seek out other shops that also roast their own and perhaps update the review. Surely there is better craft roasted coffee in Geneva that also pays attention to the extras like pastries

Yelp
Wow, this place was kind of hipster when I walked in -- long story short: I got lost looking for this coffee shop (it was recommeded on Foursquare); I got on the wrong tram and ended up somewhere else, but hey, life's an adventure! Anyway, I walked in and I was taken aback by the decor. Very hipster and chic and the menu in the back was very informative. Ordered a cappucino and a muffin and I've got to agree with many people who stop by here that it was very worth the money. Would definitely come back again if I'm in Geneva!

Yelp
Ask for a coffee and they'll give you an espresso, so beware. I ended up asking them to add hot water to my coffee so that I had enough to finish off my delish carrot cake. In comparison, my friends' ice coffee and cappuccino were huge. I think I may have to start adding milk to my coffee, to feel like I'm getting a better value. We dropped by on a Sunday afternoon. Hoping to get some work done before my friends showed up, I arrived an hour early. It was packed, and I spent the entire hour standing outside in the cold waiting for a table to open. Everyone was working on their laptops, and not a single table cleared out! Eventually we pressured the gentleman sitting by himself on the one comfy sofa by the door to get up. The two (female) baristas are super cute and friendly, and my carrot cake and friend's brownie were both pretty good, if you've been here long enough to have the capacity to ignore the Geneva prices. My espresso was actually really good, and I slightly regretted watering it down. It's one of the few coffee shops open on the weekend, so have a back-up plan ready in case you can't find a seat.

Yelp
Enjoyed a great flat white here and chocolate macadamia nut brownie. I believe I have tried a bit of everything now, and out of the baked goods, the macadamia nut brownie is by far my favourite. Yes, the WIFI is free, but I don't think I will come back to use it. It is very weak, and unreliable as the connection kept dropping. Plus, the only website that seemed to work for me ironically was Yelp. Not even Facebook was loading. Password is: nodownloadplease

Yelp
Great place! Tasty coffees and friendly staff! I had a mocchachino with shot of caramel and it was delicious!

Sohail M.

Yelp
Busy shop, challenge to find a spot at 6pm on a weekend, lots of people working on laptops, looks like a corporate and student hangout. Our choice of coffee tasted average though, hmm not sure why it's so busy and makes me think we did not pick their speciality stuff, which must be good. Also, did not help that their menu board was not in English. Good ambiance though and would come back again with a local so we get the "right" beverage.

Matìas C.

Yelp
Excellent coffee and atention, good pastisserie. Recomended seems a franchise at Geneva.

Jessica W.

Yelp
Best coffee shop in Geneva by far. Very spacious. Delicious coffee. Wifi and great staff.

Brian N.

Yelp
3rd wave coffee is tough to find in Switzerland and when you do, expect to pay exorbitant prices for coffee. Imagine...coffee that costs more than wine. Who would've thought? I thought that everything would be better in Europe when compared to the US but this is not the case with coffee in Geneva. Boreal is supposed to be an excellent spot but I can't say I was impressed with either of the coffee (for the price) and the pastry selection, which for a city filled with so much better pastry, didn't have a case that was much better than what you'd find at Starbucks. The seating area is small and cramped, but at least there's WiFi. PW: nodownloadplease

Yelp
Unsure of what to do for casual breakfast in Geneva, my travel companion and I listened to the internet and came here (even though we had already learned that European feelings on food social media tends to range from complete indifference to total disdain.) Ordered my latte and pain au chocolat relatively smoothly considering how poor my French is. My English-only boyfriend had a harder time indicating that he wanted the bagel sandwich thingy with all the vegetables (and possibly salmon?) and an iced coffee. Turns out their iced coffee is actually like a Starbucks Frap style blended & sweetened drink. (or maybe that's just what the barista thought he'd like??) Spoilers: he did not like it. But for a frap, I thought it was fine. The snacks and coffee were also fine. Not that memorable. Neither of us could figure out the wifi and we were flustered from ordering and trying to figure out our next move, so we didn't ask for help. Basically, it was the epitome of okay.

Yelp
It is a very American style coffee shop. Large indoor and outdoor sitting areas, couches, and good coffee. I ordered several lattes over the many days, and the prices are Geneva reasonable with very fair portions. It is prior to hitting the pedestrian mall area, and a fantastic place to enjoy a coffee and snack prior to exploring Geneva. Highly recommend it!

Salvatore G.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere but the prices are really too high. It is the liberal and more expensive local version of Starbucks.

Lisa P.

Yelp
Best capuccino and coffee around. Their house blend is a delecious mix, that is hazelnutty and not bitter. You can even buy this coffee bean mix to bring home or for a great gift! Great cosy place, but can be crowded at times.

Ian B.

Yelp
Good coffee stop in the centre of Geneva - now there is even a tram stop right outside! Free WiFi is cool.

Peter M.

Yelp
This place is a winner. Solid cup of coffee, pour over I believe. The American muffins are kind of hilarious; they actually come in an otis spunkmeyer wrapper. You can sit outside on cute chairs. I like it.

Abby A.

Yelp
Pretty good experience here, I really enjoyed the sandwich I ate and they have a great selection of teas. Boréal has a lot of seating and wifi for as long as your computer stays charged (lack of outlets). My only complaint, and potentially only an issue with the barista, was that they refused to give me a refill of hot water for my tea. I've never had anyone say no to me when I asked for more hot water, so I was a little taken aback by that. I'd definitely go back though! By Geneva standards, it's not TERRIBLY expensive. Only real issue was the hot water thing.

Miaoyuan L.

Yelp
My favorite spot in Geneva for meeting up with friends and work. Love the atmosphere and coffee

John L.

Yelp
Don't go anywhere else in Geneva for that first morning coffee. This place is terrific. My latte settled like a pint of Guiness in a tall glass and tasted smooth and strong. The pastries are great too!

Samuel T.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere (I especially liked the three joined high tables in the front room), nice service, reasonable prices. Very good hot chocolate and the best bagel I have had in whole my life.

Andrea L.

Yelp
I'm surprised to find only 6 reviews for this on Yelp as I thought this was one of the most popular coffee shops in Geneva. I do find the prices to be very high, but that's something I'll never get used to or accept about Switzerland, not 'til I'm making bank at least. I ordered the Chai Tea Latte and honestly, there should have been more chai. I was mostly tasting milk with just a hint of chai. I like my chai lattes to pack a punch. That way I'm not just paying 6 francs for a glass of milk. Other than that, the free wi-fi is nice and it is a small yet cozy place with very friendly, sweet staff. The 2nd time I went I ordered a tea and the girl was really helpful in telling me all the different teas they offered and recommended me one based on my tastes. In the end I was still paying 6 francs for a bag of tea.

Dru D.

Yelp
Definitely the place for those missing the coffee houses of San Francisco, Portland, etc. Very happy I found it! And they sell their own freshly roasted beans at a reasonable price.

Mandy N.

Yelp
Not impressed with the soy latte :( - bland and served lukewarm. Waited in line for 20 minutes with only one guy working the register. Pastries are good, but I expected more.

William C.

Yelp
Boreal is by far the best coffee shop in Geneva. great iced coffee.

Elena M.

Yelp
I was really hoping to find a perfect coffee in Geneva. As far as I've searched there is only one specialty coffee shop cafe in Geneva - Boreal. They roast they own coffee beans - and it's a great beginning. They've opened 2 places - the main one 5 years ago and another - a small coffee corner next to the train station - 3 years ago. I found out the place crowded - it was not easy to find ourselves a seat. Barista made me a lovely latte art on my cappuchino - 2 hearts. I was impressed. Stuff is really healpful and friendly. Unfortunately I can't say the same about their coffee - my cappuchino was watery and tasteless. Something is wrong with the coffee machine (which was not the premium brand like La Marzocco) or with barista work. Maybe they just don't know how to make a proper espresso. It was really sad. My cheesecake was delicious. Maybe it's better try alternative coffee in a small location near the train station - my hope haven't died completely yet.

Lynn W.

Yelp
Pretty decent coffee and tasty baked goods.

Nathalie H.

Yelp
The coffee is great, as is the atmosphere, but frankly the service standards are slipping. They're incredibly slow, and usually for no reason - does it really take 3 staff members to stock the window before lunch while there's a long queue of people waiting for coffee? Literally 10 minutes for a coffee is too long - it's just a shame there isn't really an alternative in Geneva!
