A peaceful, well-maintained lakeside escape I had a wonderful stay at Boreen Point Campground. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the location right by the lake was absolutely beautiful. I booked a powered site—there’s no concrete slab, but the ground is flat, well-shaded, and easy to set up on. The sites are a little close to each other, but it didn’t bother me as the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. It’s also pet-friendly, which was a huge plus for me. The natural surroundings, lake views, and overall environment made it a perfect camping experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We really did enjoy this camping spot. Lovely lake, pretty good camp spots, excellent and clean facilities. However… upon check-in, we asked the check-in staff how to pronounce “Lake Cootharaba” and she had no idea - so not a local. And within 12 hours of checking in we had an email stating “no hanging things from trees and no grey water collecting”. Felt a bit overkill. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyway… it was very windy (40 km/h) and we had a little rain, but this aided it to being a cool camping experience. We had a few times when we braved the wind and had fun swimming in the 1m depth water and catching a few fish in the Lake. Even with the wind, we managed to catch a few small bream and whiting - so definitely wet a line whilst there. Can have own fire pits and dogs are able to attend (we loved meeting Doug the Dog) so all in all a great experience. Would love to come back on a less windy weekend. Very good for families and kids - safe and friendly. Thanks!

Lovely and safe place to camp. We were able to book last minute and arrive after hours with no problem. The ground was dry and hard, so not the best for pitching a tent using pegs. Beautiful place with lots of nature around. And nice to wake up right beside the lake! The Apollonian hotel is also close by - if you're after a drink and a meal, it's a good spot to go!

First time visit, enjoyed a powered concrete slab site that was central to all amenities on offer and 50m stroll to the lake. (We had sites 10 & 11). No water fill station for van water tanks available on site so we filled at Cooroy (require a 25 or 50mm camlock). Potable drinking water tap for your day to day drinking is available on site. Amenities block was cleaned routinely throughout day and was always well presented. Camp kitchen clean and spacious with fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave available. Waste dump point and coin operated laundry available on site. Small reception open daily on site to check in and sells ice, icecreams and basic essentials. Fires are permitted pending fire ban advice/ weather. During our stay firepits were permitted as long as off the ground and contained and small in size or for cooking. Reception will advise any regulations or rules around firepits upon check-in. They also have braziers available for hire. Pub short stroll away (dog friendly) and small walk along lake and you will find a cute hole in the wall cafe selling well made coffee and small food menu. Lake is great for kids and dogs to play. Knee deep at best so water is calm and warm perfect for floating, SUPing, kayaks etc. Dog friendly as long keep on leash and clean up after your pets (just be a responsible pet owner). Great combination of the lake set amongst the big leafy trees and roads around camp will permit majority of vans / camping set ups. Will be back- was a great stay.

One way track to get there but peaceful on the water's edge. Recommend to anyone. Slightly out of the way.

Boreen Point Campground is an absolute gem! It’s the perfect spot for everyone—kids, adults, and even your furry friends. The campsites are generously sized, so you don’t feel like you’re on top of your neighbours, which makes it even more relaxing. The amenities are plentiful, well-maintained, and spotless—exactly what you want after a day of exploring. There’s a great bike track and a park that’s safe for the kids to roam and play, and the water is perfect for swimming, kayaking, or letting your pup splash around. It’s got a wonderful bush vibe while still providing everything you need for a comfortable stay. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend.
