The food was absolutely amazing. The place is comfortable and cozy. You feel at home and the food is like home cooking from my childhood. The meatballs melt in your mouth. Everything was prepared to perfection. Thank You Dino! You and your staff made my family feel like your family! We can’t wait to come back!!! Even desert was Amazing!!! Thank you!

Borghis offers excellent food and service as a chef owned and operated byob at the shore in Avalon. The food was great. Fresh fish, large portions, and great sauces. Cold bottled water and warm bread is served with the meal and the main courses come with a small house or ceasar salad. There are dinner specials in addition to the printed menu items. The resturant has both indoor and outdoor (covered patio) seating. The resturant is on the smaller side - looks like approximately 10 to 15 tables depending on how they are configured. You can call to make a reservation and they accept credit cards for payment.

My son George was working here during the summer so we met him here for dinner. It was outstanding and a must try if your in the area. The food came out hot and stayed hot not to mention it was delicious. All the desserts were homemade and one was better than the next! Usually don't give ALL 5 Stars but when you deserve it you do. Highly recommended Byob! Tell Dino that George sent you! Dino is the owner and his boys also work there. Top notch family and outstanding restaurant and staff!!!! Thx again for everything.

This place has a lot of charm and the servers and owner are exceptionally welcoming and accommodating and prompt. The owner answers the phone personally when you call - love that. The food has some high and low marks. Salad is nothing fancy and you’re served a bottle of water rather than a glass which is a little bizarre but certainly not unsafe or bad quality I suppose. Just odd. It’s BYOB as many places are in this area- keep that in mind. This place measures up locally, and for a really friendly vibe and pretty good food you should totally come here. It has way less pretension than some other spots nearby and frankly similar quality food - at lower or similar prices. That’s cool and I can appreciate that. It’s not trying to win awards in NYC- different environment here. Not many seats indoors and a few on patio, so call ahead to reserve rather than just waltzing in - especially during busier summer season. Parking is easy on residential streets within 1-2 mins walk.

Absolutely the best! It’s a culinary experience- not just going out to dinner. The chef pays attention to the details and timing and you can tell. Everything I’ve ever had there has been off the charts amazing. Dino and his wife care that the guest experience is top notch. Chef often stops after guests finish eating to check in on their experience. From the cold and fresh salad, warm baked bread, the mouth watering lobster ravioli (that sauce is to die for) to the warm delicious pound cake - with a side of vanilla ice cream - you will be craving that food until you eat it again. The place is small and unassuming, but the food is next level! Everything was delicious from the warm bread for the table, through the main courses, to the homemade pound cake for dessert. Usually not a dessert person but wow that pound cake is good. Good size portions, almost everyone in our party needed a container for leftovers. Friendly and welcoming service. Highly recommend Borghi’s By The Bay.

Fantastic & elegant. First class all the way. The menu and old family recipes are to die for. Don’t miss out on Moms pound cake. We loved the food & experience so much we made two more reservations. Thanks Dino and staff. Can’t wait to try breakfast!

The owner got us in last minute for a reservation on a Saturday night in July. The food was incredible. My husband had the sea bass which was a special. It was the best Seabass we have ever had. I had the beef tips, which were so tender and great with the mashed potatoes. My daughter loved them so much that she took my meal. The owner then surprised her with his homemade ice cream cake dessert which was incredible. He came out and talked to us and asked how dinner was, very personable. Highly recommend this restaurant.

AMAZING service (s/o Jules!) Everyone in our group of 13 enjoyed their meals. The friend who has been there the most often raves about the eggplant parm but I would want to get my lobster ravioli again. The mozz stick special was also a highlight.

Borghi's has been consistently good in our visits: delicious food at reasonable shore prices and excellent service. This visit was no exception. Lana was a wonderful waitress. She was friendly, attentive, helpful, and let us set the pace. Love the BYOB The warm bread they provide with garlic pesto is a delicious start. We enjoyed the special calamari for an appetizer. The calamari was lightly fried and tender; served on marinara. Salads followed with delicious homemade creamy vinaigrette and Caesar dressings. For our entrees we had the evening special rigatoni with vodka sauce and lump crabmeat and the lobster ravioli. Both were excellent and we took half home. Found room for the pound cake with vanilla ice cream - again delicious. We recommend everything we had.

We visit Borghi's every annual summer vacation. Always love the welcoming staff and the food is always wonderful. This year I accidentally left my credit card behind and departed home in CT the next day. The waitress went out of her way to mail the card to me. Saving me from having to change my accounts online. Thank you and see you again next summer.

Just went here for dinner for my dad's birthday and can't rave about this place enough. They were very accommodating to our large party, served everything promptly and the food was outstanding! Everything from the salads to dinner to dessert was perfection. A nice cozy local spot a short walk away from the main street but definitely worth the excursion (and it was nice and peaceful since it wasn't surrounded by other shops and restaurants). We will definitely come back the next time we're in town!

Service couldn't have been better. The food was delicious and the view of the bay from the porch was beautiful. The staff there is very friendly which makes for a fun night with friends. One of my favorite restaurants for sure.

OMG, what a great restaurant, server and food! I had the penne with crab and vodka sauce. It was so delicious. My husband had the sea bass special and it too was wonderful! Dining at Borghi's is a great summer treat. Every year the staff is pleasant and accommodating. The food is really so well prepared and enjoyable. This year we did takeout and it was great. We can recommend Borghi's with great enthusiasm.

Arrived a couple minutes early, with a reservation, and was quickly sat at an inside table as requested (party of 3). Fresh bread and water was provided as soon as we were situated. Overall service was great. Our entries were all very good (chicken parm, salmon, sea bass). We ordered the pound cake (carrot cake was not available which is my favorite) was shared by all of us. No complaints, great dinner, will be back.

Four of us had a delicious dinner last nite! Wonderful attentive waitress, great specials, lively atmosphere but not too loud -we sat inside by the window. Don't miss the decadent desserts! BYOB - we eat out often & this was a special night! Definitely a must go!

On a lamb, I called this venue hoping to score a reservation for my wife and I's last evening in Stone Harbor. The proprietor, Gino took the call and accommodated us. The venue is small (12 tables ?) but a jewel box with the outside diners peeking at the bay. The meal, I had seafood fra Diablo and Gina had salmon and asparagus over jasmine rice. This meal was superb in all manners. The presentation, flavors were spot on. Both the plate and food were hot! How many times does one go to a venue and are sorely disappointed in the little things. It's obvious Gino and his staff are attentive to the whole process. Our server Hailey was excellent. We also met Elizabeth , the young attorney in training. Both young ladies were ebullient, knowledgeable and responsive. Gino graced us with a complimentary vanilla extract flavored baked pound cake with vanilla ice cream. We can tell he was extremely busy - yet took the time to engage us in conversation. We do look forward to visiting this wonderful restaurant our next visit to Stone Harbor. Nice experience, well prepared fare in a cute porch atmosphere, although not with a bay view to speak of. But that's ok, quality of preparation and ingredients are paramount. Service friendly and competent, and busy. We'd certainly return!

Lovely casual and informal dining spot in Stone Harbor. But we had sticker shock when the bill came. While most of the entrees were mid $30-$40, turns out the special we ordered --which the waitress told us was very popular--was $65. Seems to me a restaurant should disclose when an entree is so out of line with their other offerings. While the entree was fine, we would have made a different selection if we knew the price.

The food was amazing, and the service was extremely friendly and attentive. The chef himself stopped by our table to make sure everything was good (it was!) and recommended the desserts which are also awesome. If I had to dock any points at all it would just be that the place was a little small and the indoor part was a bit humid and stuffy, so I'd recommend one of the outdoor tables if possible. However, those are extremely minor complaints. Highly recommended!

Food was prepared well. Waiter was Very accommodating. Sea bass $65 ... 25$ more than average entre should have been more transparent.

The food was amazing and the service was excellent. The entire team from the front door all the way to the kitchen was professional, friendly and attentive. We have eaten there several years in a row and we are excited to continue to make Borghi's Restaurant a yearly tradition for our family and friends.

Chef Dino is awesome!! Makes amazing food by himself. Inside is definitely small with only 6 or 7 tables but the covered patio out front adds more table space. With it being so small, the service is excellent. The waitress was so incredibly attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We did not have to wait long for any part of our meal, and they timed everything just right. We got mozzarella sticks for an appetizer that were apart of the "specials" and they were delicious - definitely should be apart of the regular menu!! Caesar salad was also excellent. But don't even get me started on the food. Portions were so large we had enough leftovers for two additional meals each. It is BYOB so be aware. I was glad the waitress told us that when we called for a reservation. Chef Dino came around and shook everyone's hand and thanked them for coming out tonight. What a cool guy! Already recommended it to friends and fam. We will definitely be back!

Every time I go to Borgis I have an excellent dinner and a wonderful time. Dino is an extraordinary chef and he always make sure to stop by to say hello to his customers. The view from the outside is amazing at sunset and the music is always good. The food is so good that I make sure to stop by before he closes for the season to stock up on his meatballs, so that I have them in the freezer throughout the winter !

This might be the best restaurant in Stone Harbor. It has everything to offer, great sunset views, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent food, seating for parties, BYOB... This is is everything a vacationer to Stone Harbor could ask for, it's been a family favorite for many years. The tomato sauce is my favorite. I've never asked how they make it but it is so authentically Italian and so excellent. This sauce is added to the raviolis (my dad's favorite) as well as the pasta (I think?) and the impressive meatballs. Since we're all so seafood focused at the shore we never thought to order the meatballs but a couple of years ago we saw some diners who had ordered them and they were flipping out with how good they were so we had to try. This dish is now a family staple appetizer. The salmon is always cooked perfectly and it is always on the menu. The sides / sauces to this dish are different each year. This dish is what I usually get but I've also had the seafood combo. This also changes every season. It's good but it's hard to get so many different items cooked to temp at the same time for 1 dish. I think removing salmon from the combo was a good idea. Borghi's gets high quality seafood for sure and the chefs and staff are always attentive to change things on the menu to stay creative while sticking with the program. We've loved everything that we've had here. We've not ventured into the realms of breakfast, chicken, or pork so I can't comment on these topics. I offer 5 stars in support of the new season. My family and I look forward to visiting again :)

Found a hidden gem, very interesting cozy restaurant by pure luck! Thank you Dino and Aileen for making us feel like home with delicious home cooking! The bread with home made pesto sauce, fresh salad and main dishes were all fabulous! Generations down pound cake was extra special! Greatly appreciate the memorable dining experience tonight! We will be back for sure when the weather gets warmer.

Small place but went for outdoor dining. Probably one server for the whole place but did a pretty good job with service. Entrees ordered were the seafood combination, pasta bolognese and lobster fra Diablo (a special). Lobster special was rated very good as was the bolognese. My seafood combination was good but a little underwhelming with the white sauce. Salads were fresh and good. I also got a gnocchi in a pesto sauce that was very good. Almond cake ordered by everyone was not as moist as the one member remembered it. I thought it was dry. This score would really be a 3.5 but have it the 4 because the server was keeping it all together under difficult circumstances.

As the sun set on the bay side , our stomachs started talking to the smells and sights of this establishment. Your seated with some delish bread and a pesto for dipping .For starters the calamari was tender and delicious in a white sauce so you can dip your bread in the remains if you didn't eat it all with the pesto. Then a fresh garden salad not to big and not to small it comes with your meal and if you prefer you could have Caesar as well. For the main attraction I had the special which was a Chilli an sea bass/lump crab meat settled in a small bed of jasmine rice accompanied by steamed broccoli. My plate look like a piece of culinary artwork. Then the final destination the Desserts. The gluten free peanut butter pie is the best peanut butter pie I have ever had the twist with the crust is worth it alone . And the home made moms recipe pound cake with vanilla ice cream and Nutella sauce is the bomb. There is no mystery why this place is bustling and the staff hustles. You never feel rushed and the food is prompt and hot ! Do yourself a favor and book your reservation for a taste of culinary delight

Amazing for a big group - service is also friendly and quick. Food is so solid and consistent every item we come down! There wasn't much our table didn't try tonight but the Buffalo rock shrimp and gnocchi is vodka sauce were outstanding tonight ! Fresh clean food prepared with love - what else can you ask for

Wonderful quaint outdoor seating to watch the sunset was incredible. The wait staff was so friendly and accommodating and the food was incredible. The 3 Meatballs appetizer was amazing and the chicken Parmesan meal was perfect! Great food, friendly people and the perfect romantic location!!

We had an amazing time last night here. My kids loved the meatballs and said they were fluffy. The lobster ravioli and special vodka sauce pasta with Lump crab were both delicious. I had ordered crab cakes in the summer before but this is the first time dining in. It is small but cozy. Will be returning for sure!

Although the restaurant isn't very big, every other thing about this place is HUGE! They start you off with some homemade bread and pesto sauce, the staff is above and beyond nice, and extremely helpful! All the menu options sounded fantastic, but my wife went with the seafood combination over pasta, while I had the salmon over rice "easily the best salmon I've ever had" We never do this, but our server was so nice I shared with her it was my wife's birthday, well wouldn't you know when we finished our delicious meals, here she comes with a slice of warm pound cake with chocolate sauce and ice-cream! The night was made even more special when the owner/chef Dino himself came out to see how everything was and wished my wife a happy birthday! An epic meal at a fantastic restaurant....a wonderful moment from a great vacation! Thank you Borghi's!

First time at Borghi's and was not disappointed! Called for reservations 3 different times... must call between 12-5 - FYI. Had the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. We opted for indoor and there was only space for about 5-6 tables but plenty of room for those sitting inside. We loved the hot buns that were given with the garlic herb olive oil dipping sauce. We got a few of those! For appetizers, we got the meatballs and the special which was mozzarella sticks. The meatballs were pricy ($18) but you get 3 softball sized meatballs which were absolutely delicious. We have a meatball "connoisseur" in our party who raved about them. The mozzarella sticks were equally delicious. Filled with a lot of cheese and light breading - scrumptious. For entrees, we all got something different. Consider any of the specials... they are delicious. We got: the lobster ravioli, crab & shrimp ravioli, chicken parm, seafood combo and braised beef short rib with garlic mashed potatoes and onion rings (special). There was not a bite left!!! Everything was outstanding. Also forgot to mention that each entree comes with a house or Caesar salad. The house dressing was delicious as was the Caesar. The house salads seemed smaller than the Caesar but they were the perfect size (in our opinion). For dessert, we got the "Chipwich" (2 chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream) and the molten lava cake. Both were amazing. Only critique would be the cookies were a bit overdone for us but they were still so chocolatey and delicious regardless. They are BYOB which was a pleasant surprise; we came prepared. We enjoyed absolutely everything. I would encourage everyone to try Borghi's as we have been to different Italian places on the island and this was by far the best (so far). :)

Borghi's Restaurant is THE BEST restaurant on the island. I can't recommend this place enough, I would give it 10 stars if I could. Every time I go, I get the pesto gnocchi and it is just amazing. The pesto is so fresh and the dish as a whole is just spectacular. The bread they give you is also amazing (it comes with pesto as well) and that combo is just so good. Along with the food, the service and chef are so kind. The chef will occasionally come out to the dining space to say hi, and he is just such a friendly and caring person, you can tell he loves what he is doing. One time, my friend and I were eating and we were about to leave, but then the chef gave us a piece of an AMAZING peanut butter/chocolate ice cream cake. It was probably the best dessert I have ever had. Overall 10000% recommend this restaurant- you must try!!!!!!

Food was delicious, service was great, and everyone was super inclusive and thoughtful towards my son who has autism! Highly recommended!

A wonderful find! The food and service were top-notch! It felt gourmet and still approachable.

Took family there for a birthday dinner, and it was wonderful! I called several times to make a reservation (I couldn't make one during the dinner rush), but they kindly accommodated us (a party of 11!) on short notice by fitting us in upstairs. It was a tight squeeze up there but there was a beautiful sunset view of the bay and a little area where the kids could hang without being in the servers' way. I felt bad for the servers who had to keep climbing up and down the stairs every time we needed something, but they were so nice--absolute champs. Food was delicious--the best I had in the area. I couldn't pick a favorite meal; they were all great. The pesto that came with the bread, and the giant slice of (almond?) cake they sent up--were both *chef's kiss*. Everyone was happy. Highly recommend!

The food is amazing!!!!!Run, don't walk if you would like a delicious dinner. The warm bread and tasty dipping oil is just the start. I had the lobster ravioli that was wonderful, so much amazing flavor and a lot of TLC nestled in the sauce. It was well worth a dinner out.

Borghi's Restaurant by the Bay came highly recommended to our party so we had to give it a try. Borghi's is a quant neighborhood spot that looks like a house converted into a restaurant. We arrived for our reservation and had to wait 10 minutes for them to prepare for us. We were seated outside and the ambiance was just okay. What I liked about Borghi's is the fact it was BYOB. To start we ordered a bunch of apps. Most of the apps like the coconut shrimp were just standard apps. Nothing special about them but still leaving you satisfied. The meatballs however were horrendous. They were mushy beyond belief and were lacking flavor. If you read my reviews, you know I compare meatballsto my moms. I give them a 1/5 compared to my moms. For my main course, I ordered the special braised short rib. The flavors were all there but the short rib was over cooked which made it dry as a bone. If they nailed the cook on it, the dish would have been pretty good but because the star of the dish is short rib they fell extremely short. Borghi's is just another ho hum place in my list of reviews. Glad I gave it a try but it's not on my list of restaurants to revisit when I'm in Stone Harbor.

Just stopped by on a whim. Outstanding Lobster Ravioli. Pan seared scallops done perfectly. Super friendly service!

Small place, slow service, but food is very good. Meatballs and bacon wrapped scallops were excellent. Lobster ravioli was good but the sauce was too heavy so it took away from enjoying the lobster filling. The pesto oil dipping sauce for the bread was amazing!!! The Mac n cheese for kids is served in a white cheese (not a traditional orange cheddar cheese that kids are used to so my 10 year old didn't like it - although I thought it was delicious). My FIL loved his pork chop. The side salad had too much dressing. This place is "near" the bay, not "on" the bay. Love BYOB places at the shore. If you're there around sunset, take photos across the street by the bay.

My party of four had dinner at Borghi's. I am confident to say this was the best meal I've had in Stone Harbor since Claude's left the Island. We started with Brushetta and home made meatballs. The meatballs had a sufficient amount of pork and and were rolled loose. They just melted in your mouth Lobster ravioli was home made black pasta with generous amounts of lobster inside. The cream pink sauce was filled with lobster flavor. The salmon filet was a good portion and cooked to perfection. The penne bolognese was scrumptious with lots of meat flavor which was more beefy tasting than the meatballs.

Great food with great views!! An awesome owner operator that will make you feel at home!! Superb place! The Specials are always a go to!! Recommend a reservation because they book up quick! Cheers!!

My favorite restaurant in Stone Harbor. I go every time I'm in the area. The food is outstanding and very fresh. The ambience is beautiful especially if you can sit outside please try it you'll love it.

This place is great! They are super accommodating to food allergies. We were a group of 10 (many of us gluten free and dairy free) and the service was super quick. The food tastes great too!

As some other reviewers commented, I hope the word doesn't get out too much on this small, unassuming but impressive place to get a delicious meal. Toss out the odd and incoherent observations of Darren and Dennis below and go with the rest of the reviews that are the accurate representations of Borghi's. Whether it is the outstanding breakfast burrito they offer, or the interesting entrees for dinner, chef Dino has a gem here. Prices fairly consistent with shore and inflationary adjustments and since it is a BYOB you do not have the highly marked-up drink prices on the bill. Our waiter was very attentive and took good care of us, and the coconut shrimp and one of that night's specials, seafood fra diavlo, that I had was excellent. Dino is going to need to add on to this space if the word keeps getting out.

We sat outside for dinner and had an incredible night. Our waitress was so incredibly nice which made us feel comfortable and welcomed. We had the steak tips and pasta special (house al la vodka sauce) and they were delicious! We will definitely be back.
