The property is in a quiet area surrounded by farms and not much else, great for relaxation, but what comes with this sense of remoteness also comes with a lot of maintenance issues that should not be tolerated at a supposed five star hotel. ||We stayed in a one bedroom Trulli suite number 4, and while exceedingly charming from the outside, several problems made our stay unenjoyable. ||First, the air conditioning did not cool the room adequately, despite having it on the lowest setting and highest speed, on a hot summer day the rooms stayed hot, and there is no AC in the bathroom.||Speaking of the bathroom, the toilet leaked, so every time you flush it, there’s a large puddle of (fresh) water underneath it that floods the whole floor by the door. Gross and dangerous. The shower door also did not close as the plastic seal is rotted away and it also floods the floor, very very slippery! And lastly there is a constant sewage odor coming from the shower drain that only can be remedied by opening the window… and letting more heat in. ||Last and most egregious are the bugs. The room is literally crawling with black ants, they are impossible to avoid. Multiple times during the night I woke up with little ants and bugs crawling up my nose, crawling on my eyes, and I am now covered in bites on my arms, legs, by backside, even on my scalp!!! Unacceptable. ||I could look past some of the deferred maintenance issues in the interest of having a countryside experience, but unless your fetish is being covered in bugs and bites, avoid this property!
