We had a truly beautiful meal at BOrGO last night! Attentive and interactive service that was genuine — no saccharine shows here. The unexpected starter of ratatouille was exceptional, and that’s when I knew we were in for a real treat. House-made sourdough followed. It was also outstanding. All three of us absolutely loved our entrees (two from the menu — don’t sleep on the cappellacci with guinea fowl ragu — and one special) and our shared dessert so much that we booked a reservation for 48 hours later— our last meal before departing Florence.

Hidden gem with some of the best food in Florence. Beautiful modern take on traditional dishes, with flavors I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. Incredible ambience and service with the owner Gabriele! Couldn’t recommend this place more, even though I selfishly want there to always be a table for me.

We had the best dining experience of our life here! The chef is one of those remarkably unique people who cares so much about food and puts his whole heart into his craft. We had a full gluten free meal, we had many options to choose from and we were absolutely amazed by each bite. 14/10, as much as I love to complain I have no notes here, we’ll be back as soon as we can. My best restaurant experience EVER! Gluten free or not, this is the best place to eat on this planet in my opinion. Food was beyond words and out of this world! And for coeliacs and gluten free, the chef was more than willing to make everything perfectly contamination free, while most items were made gluten free regardless. Interior design and lighting is cozy and very welcoming, nothing pretentious but still every detail considered. Cannot recommend this place enough, and especially recommend the chicken tempura!

This meal was one of the best of my life! Gabriele, The owner/waiter/chef was so personable and his English was great! It felt like he was welcoming us into his kitchen at home. Every dish we tried was spectacular. Wish my stomach was bigger so I could have eaten more.

Cozy, intimate restaurant hidden away far from tourist traps. My fiance and I ate here and had a great experience! We were welcomed in by the charming chef/owner and had the most delicious rabbit and pasta. You could see and taste the love put in to the meals. We will fondly remember Gabriele and the dinner we had here!

This was such a memorable dining experience in Florence in the best way. When my husband and I walked into B.o.r.g.o, we were immediately greeted by Gabriele and his cozy, comfortable restaurant. We felt like we were eating at a friend or family’s home. The atmosphere is wonderful, but the food is what we will be talking about for a long time. My husband’s linguine with onion sauce was so unique and his favorite dish during our trip. Gabriele described it as a “tribute to the onion” and that is a very fitting description. My agnolotti pasta with guinea hen melted in my mouth and was perfection. The menu is comprised of interesting and unique dishes and you cannot go wrong. Gabriele is the loveliest host and you can tell he truly takes great pride in his dishes and loves sharing his culinary gift with others. I agree with previous reviews — he is an artist! My family and I had an amazing time at B.O.r.G.O. The food was splendid, we ordered all 3 starters, 3 main dishes and 2 desserts. Every dish we ordered was delicious and unique, and all four of us loved every dish that was served. The tiramisu was the best we had ever eaten. Gabriele the owner was very very nice and accommodating, he also brought out delicious appetizers on the house and helped us pick out a wine which we all liked (not an easy task). I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Firenze, I highly doubt you'll be disappointed. Thank you Gabriele for an incredible dinner and for answering all our questions about the food 🙏

Everything about this restaurant is so special. You can feel the love for what they do as soon as soon as you walk in. The menu, food, service was beyond our expectations! This was our best meal in Florence. Do miss out, just go! Awesome date night!

This is the neighborhood spot in San Frediano. The interior is welcoming and lively when the place is packed. The food is amazing. It's Tuscan erring on Mediterranean. There's a thoughtful mix of food and there is always a few things that are seasonal. The food is extension of Gabriel's passion for food. He sources everything locally and with an immense amount of care. Make a reservation, keep it and order a bunch of stuff and share so you can try all the things. Also don't forget desert. Cheesecake or tiramisu. It's excellent. Always recommend this place for anyone visiting Florence.

We had a lovely evening here. The owner greeted us and made us feel very welcome in his restaurant. It truly felt like we were eating in his living room! Food was fresh, fairly simple and very tasty. I had really good pasta with courgettes and prawns, while my wife had pea soup. For mains, I enjoyed my chicken with rosti and my wife loved her pork fillet with mashed potatoes. We finished off with some unctuous and rich chocolate mousse!

What an amazing place! The food was exquisite and imaginative. The owner is warm and friendly and knows food. Not your run of the mill but everything worked perfectly. Not different just to be different but when you walk out you know you have had something special. Across the river so it's not filled with crowds of tourists. Don't miss it!
