I booked a 6-bed male dorm from August 23–26, and even informed the hostel I’d arrive at 23:00. They confirmed it was fine. However, when I arrived they couldn’t find my reservation. After several phone calls with a manager and repeated requests for my details and full name (which I had already provided), they eventually found it — but starting from August 24 and under only one of my two last names. This is absurd, considering I booked through Booking.com with my correct full name. Because of their error, I was put in an 8-bed dorm for the first night and told to check out at 11:00 the next morning and wait until after lunch to check in again, as if I were a new arrival. After a long journey, this unnecessary waiting was the last thing I needed. The staff’s attitude came across as dismissive, if not pretentious, which only added to the frustration. To top it off, they still charged me €3 for a towel, which at the very least could have been offered complimentary after the inconvenience. Additionally, the hostel should reconsider its age policy. Many hostels in Italy (and Europe in general) cap guest age at around 35 to maintain a better atmosphere for travelers. Borgo Ripa seems unclear on this, and it shows in how they manage their guests. Overall, the location in Trastevere is nice, but the poor organization, unhelpful approach to problem-solving, and lack of consideration for guests make this hostel one I cannot recommend.

Staff is very friendly, easy to approach. The room isn’t that clean, bed is smaller than as it describes/advertise. No towels and no shampoo provided but overall it’s good price for solo traveller.

The hostal is located in a very good place, nearby everything you need and want to go. But, in general terms, the hostal is not offering a great experience in basic services like bathrooms or clean bedrooms. You must share a 4 toilets and 4 showers space for a complete level of bedrooms (like 30 persons for 4 toilets...) also, the prívate bathroom is not always clean and Open for use. The sheets smelled like piss and sweating in every bed. They can change it for you, but all smell the same. The bed is not comfortable and is infested of fleas and bed bugs. Also, the guests arent always the best possible company. I know it's a delicate problem away from the hability of the Hostel to manage, but it's partcially caused by them by not providing secure spaces for you, i.e like the bathroom. Where you can find disgusting and pervert people seeing you and making obscenous acts... Not worthy. If you can, go to another place for the same money and better quality.

Place is not bad most especially if you’re just going to sleep and take a shower. Close to bus stations. Location was accurate but I wish there was a sign to find the hostel since there was no name to be seen outside the gate. Nice stay.

Really amazing hostel - was able to take a call out in the beautiful garden until 5am. 24 hour reception is tremendous and the hostel is a lovely cool temperature in relation to the sweltering heat of summertime in Rome. The location is ten fifteen minutes walk to the Piazza Novona and very close to the lovely area of Trastevere and the riverside. Was able to park Lime bikes and scooters at the front door for easy transportation to the Vatican and elsewhere in Rome. Slept in lartge hostel room, spacious, other guests were polite and friendly. Toilet and showers spacious, clean and modern, although towels are not provided free of charge. Fairly good charger access, but very good charger access in the main lounge reception area. Staff were amazing, and I paid about €120 for three nights. Will be back.

I booked this hostel, weeks ago, not a day before. When we arrived they said something happened with the rooms and because the mistake they put us in a private room. Ok, was amazing the room, but next night we were in a 5 bed room, and I still don't understand why they put me and my niece far, I mean they could place us in the bed 1 and 2 just beside each other, but no, they put me in the bunkbed up, super uncomfortable, and again the reservation was together, they knew we are together About the reception, the 2 Italian ladies were ok, I just think they could have a conversation after check ins, but ok, they were changing shifts exactly at 15h time for us make check in. The lady from Chile was also very nice and polite, but, the Brazilian lady who work at night doesn’t know anything, doesn’t know the time of check out, doesn’t know the time of breakfast, stay talking on the phone in Portuguese while work, and when we left we couldn’t even had a coffee because the machine was out of service, so why they ofer coffee if they can’t provide In general I might think about book again, but for sure they need to improve in the reception

Nice and comfortable stay. Very warm and ever smiling staff. Veronika is very helpful and goes an extra mile to assist you. The building itself has history. The location is great too.
