Alright, so honest opinion... Location, absolutely great for the beach and walking distance for several food/bar spots... Employees, they've been great... room itself? Well, last minute, on a budget, per it's location... Not bad... But, if you've served time, it's definitely going to be relatable... Can't fault this place too much, they've done what they can to keep things modern. Definitely not faulting this place, but be ready to have a small tv, small bed, closest that isn't really a closet small room and small bathroom. Again, absolutely not negative faulting this place due to my own circumstances, just sharing the room itself

Stayed for 5 nights with family during Christmas holidays 2025. Great location with beach next to the property. Room is okay and common kitchen with complementary coffee. Walgreens and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Parking is free. If you are looking not to pay exorbitant amount of money for hotels, this place is highly recommended

Loved staying here definitely we will come back! The hotel has a great location, within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and grocery stores. The beach is literally just a minute away, right behind the hotel. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was awesome. They also have a fully equipped kitchen area for guests and complimentary coffee, which was a great bonus.

I was by myself so this was a perfect place for me. The building is old and it’s noticeably old, but I didn’t mind that Hot water Cold AC 4 minute walk to beach Customer service 5 ⭐️ Out side shower good Clean The kitchen was sufficient just old. Chamber maid was awesome my wood was clean and supplied with my request of towels, soap, fresh bedding every day. It was a pleasure to leave a tip for her daily. The beach is stunningly breathtaking ❤️❤️❤️ I Stayed for four days and by myself, it was brilliant not sure who I could bring that would be comfortable in the old building, but for me by myself, I would stay there again If you’re looking for luxury, this is not it but for the price I think it’s a great deal. It’s a great value and I was happy to pay what I paid for the room the housekeeping, the location, location, location, five minute walk to the beach I just wore my hat and my swimming trunks and I could walk barefooted right into the water And the ocean was amazing while I was there. I stayed at the end of October. I highly recommend it. It’s not busy season. The beaches were empty. The water was brilliant. I felt safe in the water and on the beach they could do a better job maintaining the building, but it is an old building And I know that can take a lot. The people at the front desk were responsive and kind. I was in a room at the front of the building near the main road. Slept like a baby. The room I was in was 111. I would Recommend this room

This is a quaint mid century hotel that is a holdout anoungst high rise condos & hotels. It is right next to one of the puerticos that connect the street to the beach, so it is VERY close to the beach (1 ciry block). It has a gate with a combo at the entrance, and each room still has a key. It is kept clean, it has a shared kitchen area for all the rooms with fridge, stove, micro, and dishes. They have signs saying to respect others belongings and to clean any dishes used. My wife stored her insulin in the fridge and it was never bothered with, plus we bought a bag of ice, & no one even touched that. They have ear plugs in the rooms for windows that aren't great at keeping the street noise out. Turn on the shower all the way hot and experiment with the control, first day we ended up having cold showers... 😂. But Puerto Rico is a bit third world....unless you're staying at one of the much more expensive luxury resorts, so if you roll with the inconvenience it can be part of the experience of PR. The front desk held our bags when we were in between hotels. Overall the people at this Hotel were very kind & accommodating.

Surprised it was as clean as it was! At least my room was. Perfect for a quick visit to the island especially if you know you will not be in the room long. Cozy full size bed, 1 bedroom. If they had an iron or steamer for clothes would have been perfect. Budget friendly for sure, immediate beach access, and food places wirhin walking distances. Bars and hangouts too!

Location location location! Close to bars and restaurants, and Uber works perfectly in the area. The beach is just a 1-minute walk away! Very family-friendly, with awesome customer service, and you really can’t beat the price. Highly recommend!

Needed a place on our last night that was close to the airport. Found this hotel online and decided to give it a shot. We're very happy we did!! The service was amazing!! The young men we dealt with at the front counter were attentive, efficient and very helpful and courteous. The room was clean and comfy. Hot water was plentiful, the bed was perfect and the a/c was on when we got there!! They provide a shared kitchen/living space with a refrigerator and cooking area, including utensils and dishes. Parking was plentiful and easy to access with cameras for security. We felt very safe in the area. The area was great, lots of places to eat and shop within walking distance. We were able to visit the beach behind the hotel via a walkway right next to the property. And there were beach towels provided in the room. Note: Some people have commented about noise from the place next door. The chillers are running and do make some noise but we didn't find it to be excessive. We will definitely visit again when we return in a few weeks!!

Maybe in the past there was bad management but what a cute place! Exactly what I needed for a night stay, close to airport, clean, and nice staff. I like the vibe and would stay again!

an amazing stay at Borinquen Beach Inn! The location is incredible -- just steps from the beach, with amazing food spots right on the sand. It's the perfect place to soak up the sun and enjoy great local eats. But what really made my experience special was the front desk staff. They are so sweet, welcoming, and helpful! They went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and had everything I needed. The room was clean and cozy, and the laid-back vibe of the inn made it the perfect spot to relax. I'll definitely be coming back -- highly recommend!

Borinquen Beach Inn on Avenue Isla Verde in Carolina is a great place to stay on the beach that is in the middle of everything. They are a good value for being on the beach and everything that they have to offer. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have a good stay.

Well, if you need a affordable,safe place to sleep and shower this is the place . Is affordable most of the time but is very basic and a bit outdated. No breakfast included and WiFi is very slow, shower doesn't have a lot of pressure and mattress & pillows need an urgent update since there flat and bed make noises. I dot like that the A/C control is only one and if you need to change your room temperature you have to ask in the receptionist area for it , very inconvenient. But again if you don't plan to be in the hotel much and just need a place to crash and take a shower that have a beautiful beach in the back , this place is ok. The accessibility to the beach is the A+ also is in a very busy area with good night life during the weekends . Employees were friendly. So you will be ok ,also private parking area.

I stayed at this place I contracted bed bugs bite. Check your bed for bed bugs.

Look this was a no frills place. The place is ugly, the rooms are basic, you have no control over a/c, things are broken. These people are saviours. My Airbnb was a bust and they took me in on NEW YEARS EVE. I brought my girlfriend to show my homeland and the place before in Old San Juan sucked. They saved my trip. The beache being so close and the friendly staff make you not care. Now if only there was a place to get a decent latte nearby.

Not happy,The only reason I'm giving a 2 stars because we were a walk away from the beach place doesn't have,a phone,no tissues,no iron ,no beauty products and they gave us one little bar of soap for three people. This place looks more like a motel than an Inn. The employee's were nice.

This place was great, simple, cheap, 30 seconds from the beach! If all you want to do in San Juan is be a beach bum Isla Verde is perfect. So many bars and cheap eats right of the beach. Having the only cheap hotel in the area is great, you stay on a budget but can walk to all the 4 star hotels and casinos located on the same street. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful, always ready to give directions or turn the water spout on outside to de-sand your feet after a long beach day. Communal kitchen, my beer was taken from the fridge, but that's a risk you take. Nothing was stolen from the room, constantly stocked with fresh towels and toilet paper, although towels were very small, it was still possible to dry off. Everyone was very respectful of sound at night, sometimes people get buzzed in in the middle of the night, but if you aren't the very first room you don't hear it, I would stay here again!

This isn't a fancy hotel, but you're not paying fancy hotel prices. We flew in late the night before a cruise and wanted a hotel just to crash for a few hours sleep. This worked perfectly. Our flight was a little delayed and then we had issues with our luggage, so we didn't get to the hotel until later than anticipated. It had a secured entry, which I appreciated, and the woman working the desk was friendly and got us checked in quickly. There was some noise in the area outside, but once we got in our room, with the a/c running, we didn't hear a thing. The room was clean and comfortable enough for one night. We didn't have a chance to visit the beach before leaving, but it looked like it was right outside the hotel! If you're looking for a budget hotel near the airport or the beach, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here!

I have to say this is the third time I stay here. My past reservation had no problem until this past January 22 2017 I stood here with my wife for few days. I'm so Disappointed. Im thinking the little bites I had all over my legs was mosquito bites. After the days pass I have horrible bites. I check in the hospital and is confirmed that I have Bed bugs bites all over.. NEVER Again will I stay with you guys... On top of that I get to the hotel/motel and nobody to open security door to go inside. Waited until this dark short lady came running and apologize cause the house keeper didn't show up. So she had to do both job. Really one person. No wonder this beds had sand . Which we clean off bed. And still was attack by bed bugs.. disgusting..

DO NOT book here, they will charge your card without your consent. Stayed here before and had no problems so I decided to book again. They do not understand a difference between a hold and a charge. In fact when I canceled my reservations I got a confirmation that my card had indeed been charged and would be reimbursed "soon". Hope "soon" means today!

I honestly love it... This is my third time staying here in the past year and I can't ask for more. The staff is so kind and I feel so at home here. The beds are comfy and the rooms are clean. I'm not sure if the review about the bed bugs is true or not but all I can say is that my family and I have been satisfied with the service of this hotel :)

I'm a young world traveler and I've stayed in some pretty ratty places, but this takes the cake. Normally, when I shop by price, I get what I pay for and understand that. This Inn was close to the airport, a beach and was cheap, but the rest was awful and all for $80/night! In addition to being close to the beach, this is also close to a club next door, so don't expect any sleep Friday or Saturday nights. There was loud bumping music and sleeping was miserable. The windows were broken and did not close completely, the towels they provided were plentiful, but are the size of hand towels. What amazed me the most was that when I had left my air conditioner on over night my room flooded. I had to leave the following morning and had to communicate with the Inn keepers to see if a PARTIAL refund was possible. I had to chase them down because they hadn't returned my phone calls and, once I did speak to someone, they informed me that wet bedding and clothing was not enough to receive a refund. They said that they provided me with extra towels so that I could mop up the water on the floor myself. Gee, thanks for a nicely 'maid' holiday in Puerto Rico! There are other hotels in the area, spend the extra $20 and get a room where you don't have to worry about leaving for San Juan Airport with a luggage filled with wet clothing.

You can't ask for a better inn in San Juan!! Perfect for what I needed.a room to sleep in during my stay in paradise. Rooms were properly kept and cleaned, hall ways and waiting areas were also clean and well kept. Staff members were nice,patient,and very. Helpful. Has super easy access to the beach ,near lots of fast food stores and local buses if you are interested in the full cultural experience. Just .75 will take you as far as old San Juan !!!. Not as high end as all the other hotels but I DO NOT MIND STAYING HERE AGAIN! This is def a budget friendly place. Thank you for your services BORINQUEN BEACH INN!! My stay was from August 7th to August 10th 2017. And for the record the INFORM YOU IN ADVANCE THAT YOUR CARD WILL BE CHARGED BUT ITS JUST TO RESERVE YOUR ROOM! Money gets refunded and payment is due UPON ARRIVAL!!

We stayed here after seeing its 3 star rating on Expedia, and this hotel was absolutely horrendous. My mom and I were planning to stay here for one night because we came to PR a day early, and our other hotel wasn't ready. We literally walked in the hotel, got our keys, walked in the room, and walked out. The hotel smelled terrible of smoke, and was very humid (to our dismay we weren't even allowed to control the air conditioner). We ended up asking for a refund, we literally didn't even put our stuff down before asking to be refunded. The girl at the front desk was super nice and said she wouldn't even stay here and didn't blame us; she was going to do the refund and then called her manager, who adamantly denied our request for money back. The manager said we could stay a night at the hotel still, but I literally wouldn't stay here in any case scenario. I have extremely bad asthma and staying in a smoke infested and dirty room would not help it. Not to mention the other yelp reviews say this place is crawling with bed bugs.

Wow. If your looking for ritz Carlton, this is not it. But if you are looking for a great place with the friendliest staff. This is the place . We were there in June, and wow, Gabriel,lailani, and Tina. Made us feel like family. Any time we had a question, they had a answer walking distance to wonderful restaurants, casinos and shopping.. Just moments away from the beach. We will be staying there again next year. Great prices, great staff, and clean comfortable rooms. How do you beat that..?

DO NOT STAY HERE! Bed bug infestation! Specifically in room 112. I just stayed here from Aug 23-27...I did not see signs of any bugs in the sheets but I remember seeing black specs in the bed a day later and just assumed it was crumbs from eating late night snacks, boy was I wrong!!! when I got home my legs were itching and before I knew it, I had about 50 red bumps on my legs and a few on my arms. I am suffering right now. I have tried to contact the hotel to no avail. They have not responded to my emails. I understand that hotels may have bed bugs but for the hotel to not even respond to my claim is unprofessional and incredibly ridiculous! If you stay here, good luck!

I didn't even get the chance to stay here because their online registration and customer service is awful. I booked my reservation through their website. I never got a confirmation email. I called the hotel to verify they got my reservation. I was told they person who is "in charge of the computer" wasn't there. They said they took the note down and would get back to me. After no response, I called back a week later. Same thing. The computer guy wasn't there again. My note was taken, and they said they would get back to me. A few days later after still no response, I went to their contact us section of their website and submitted my issue. Another few days go by...nothing. I'm pretty upset at this point. I have my boyfriend call, since apparently I am not being taken seriously. He calls and finds out today (two weeks after my first call) that there are no notes to be found and also no reservation. They told him how he could make a reservation over the phone, but that they will charge his card then not after our stay. Now I am concerned with the fact that this negligent company possibly has my credit card information on file from my original reservation. For all I know, they might charge us a cancellation/no-show fee since I did make a reservation on their website. I'm frustrated to say the least. Awful customer service. I'm glad we won't be staying here.
