While the location and the lodge itself are undeniably beautiful, surrounded by nature, wildlife, and hot springs - the overall experience was significantly impacted by a lack of strong management and organisation.
There was an immediate sense of mistrust when we were asked to pay a $200 deposit despite having already paid nearly $1,000 for our stay. Additionally, all meals had to be paid for on the spot, and if we didn’t have a credit card with us, we were asked to return to our rooms to retrieve one, which felt unnecessary and inconvenient.
The swimming pool area is lovely, but there is no shade or umbrellas available, despite multiple guests requesting them. This made it uncomfortable to fully enjoy the space, especially during peak sun hours.
Unfortunately, the food quality was very poor, and the staff often appeared lost and unsupported, which again points to a lack of clear leadership rather than individual effort.
Overall, this was one of the weakest service experiences we’ve had. That said, we chose to focus on the extraordinary natural surroundings, which did make our stay pleasant in spite of the shortcomings.
We are sharing this feedback in the hope that the owner or management team takes it seriously. This is a truly special place that deserves to be well protected and properly run. While guests come for the nature, when paying premium prices, a basic standard of service is also expected.
