Borneo Backpackers

We loved this place. Great host and friendly volunteer staff, the rooms are simply but clean and comfortable. Private rooms are very nice and even have good working aircon. Bathrooms are basic yet functional.

Love my stay here :) very decent and cozy. Location is pretty strategic too. Even after I checked out, I was allowed to use the shower and hang at the common area. Thank you for the generous and great hospitality! :)

Great location, close to the iconic gaya streets and Jesselton point Jetty. Priced higher than comparable backpackers, but makes up with a bigger common area, amenities and free simple breakfast. Rooms are functional with shared bathrooms, there is a lovely roof top bar and the Biru Biru cafe on the ground floor is popular, with live music, stand-up comedy and salsa dance nights. Regretfully, 4 rooms out of 2 rooms occupied during our stay had bed bugs and shower is weak when others use the common bathroom too. However, that's a common issues with backpackers in general. Staff were friendly but could be more helpful

A quaint little backacker, strategically located long Jalan Dewan where all the kopitiams and cafes are at. The choice of rooms available range from room with bunk beds sharing with 4 or 6 other people, and private rooms for 1 or 2 persons. The entire place is really clean, including the toilets. The coffee and coctails served at the cafe downstairs (Biru Biru) is really affordable and tasty. My only gripe about Bornep Backpacker is that the trafgic noise which could get very loud even at 3 or 4 in the morning, as well as the fact that Biru Biru only officially opens at 4pm (no coffee or early cocktails for brunch then)

Really nice hostel with a charming vibe. Entire is frenchy-like. Double room is spacious and quiet. They give you towels and the stuff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is toast and jam/ peanutbutter

Clean, quiet, reasonable rate, very strategic location with lotsa cosy cafes, restaurants, eateries on the same street and even just downstairs from the hostel. Very near to Gaya Sunday Market. WiFi stable. Air con is strong.

Second time staying here and price maintain as RM35 per bed with free towel, shampoo and breakfast. however the aircond in certain room might have problem and the power socket too, request it if you need when make booking.

Good location, bars & pubs are down the street. Employees are super friendly. As I think bedsheets need to be changed anytime soon, I have just added 4 stars today.
