Great food, service and atmosphere…the scallops and crispy fried chicken for starters were excellent and the land & sea for the main was delicious. Nice cocktails too!

The oysters were incredibly fresh, and the creative take on scallops was delightful, almost like a mini scallop bake. The Branzino was cooked perfectly. My only small note is that the grilled Caesar could be served on a chilled plate, but that didn’t take away from the overall experience. I’m so glad this spot is in town!

Had reservations with a friend on Friday at 6:30pm and was seated right away. Staff were very friendly. Interior temperature seemed to fluctuate a bit, and didn't really enjoy the fan blowing in my face lol. Got 2 cocktails with my meals and both were excellent. Not sweet at all, refreshing, and perfectly boozy. There's complimentary bread that's served at the table and while it's not warmed up, it was delicious bread and butter. For apps we got the arancini and it was fantastic, great flavor and texture. We also got the scallop casino which was an absolute banger, really liked the bacon, pepper, onion combo. For entree I got the linguini chili crunch shrimp. I really enjoyed the housemade pasta it had excellent texture and flavor. The sherry cream was delightful. However that chili crunch had almost a BBQ flavor to it which was excellent with just the shrimp but odd combination with the sherry cream. I opted to eat them separately as to not mix the flavors. For dessert we got the marscapone brownie which was delicious.

We had a magical evening with our best friends celebrating my birthday with an incredible dinner at Boro. We had friendly and attentive service from Patrick and he graciously put up with us ordering a lot and being our typical selves. The scallop appetizer, grilled romaine and filet some favorites. The lobster risotto I’m still dreaming about! And the dessert sampler with sparkler was an amazing end to our night. Great cocktails, cozy vibe and pretty stemware. The most incredible part of the night was that I left behind a card with cash in it by mistake on the table- I realized halfway home and we went back and one of the bus persons turned it back in with all the cash still intact, which I thought was amazing. Thank you Boro for another great experience.

This review is for the Market experience only. Will definitely be returning to try out the restaurant and bar experience. Got a chicken culet sandwich with provolone, broccoli rabe, sauteed onions, and garlic aioli... it was phenomenal. vibe was modern Italian in a very clean space with a great looking market/cafe style menu with some items to purchase to take home like at a classic Italian market. Service was a little lackluster, staff didn't really seem to care to do their jobs well, they were polite but seemed like they didn't care to be there... where is the hospitality nowadays.

We had our son’s baptism celebration here and it exceeding ours and everyone else’s expectations. The food was excellent, everyone raved about it and said they will be coming back. The chef even went over and behind to come out and introduce himself and make sure everyone was happy. The atmosphere was well put together with the custom menus the restaurant provided as well as seating arrangements that allowed everyone to chat. The service was attentive and accommodating to requests and dietary restrictions. The event was a perfect blend of timely but not rushed, we had ample time to eat, drink, relax and spend time conversing. Overall everyone had a great experience and raved about the food, atmosphere and staff. As the host, it made my job easy to not have to think of a thing since they had everything taken care of for us. Highly recommend.

Great spot for a date! My husband and I went here for a lunch date and had such a great time. The food and drinks were amazing. The atmosphere is great. I have had so many friends posting on social media about this spot so I knew we had to go and it stood up to the hype.

After a busy day with real estate, we came here for dinner. From start to finish, our meal and experience was top notch. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. If you like clams casino, I highly recommend the scallops casino. They were packed with flavor. We also had the wedge salad. A wedge salad is usually pretty heavy, but this one was not. It was delicious. For our meals we had the short rib special and halibut. Both were out of this world. We also ordered a side of brussel sprouts (plenty to share!). If you're looking for a delicious meal and great service, I highly recommend coming here!

I 1st discovered this place by accident looking for oysters after having a bad experience at a restaurant that shut down not far from Boro. I walked in during happy hour and tried the CHAMPAGNE MIGNONETTE, and one of their specialty cocktails and was hooked. I tried the poached pear and it was unique, with a semi-sweet lavender syrup. It was very tender ... and delicious. For my bday we ordered the PAPPARDELLE/SHORT RIB & seafood ravioli (I no longer see this on the menu). We also ordered the Smoke & Mirrors and the LV cocktails soooo good. The Smoke and Mirrors definitely has smoky taste. I have no idea how they knew it was my bday because I didn't mention during the reservation nor did my date.... nice touch. Will be back!

Food is unique. Some items are hit or miss. Chicken chili 10/10. Tuna tartar, personally not a fan, but if you appreciate lentils then yeah probably up your ally. Oysters for happy hour $3/piece... eh not really a happy hour price and the oysters are mediocre. I didn't intent to do happy hour on a Saturday, but showed up and gave it a shot with wife and her friends. The drinks are good and unique. The happy hour prices aren't really happy hour prices, and please don't say "value" because the portions were very stingy. You want the asthetic or quick overpriced lunch with really not great service, sure. Otherwise spend the $ elsewhere. Some happy hour items were incorrect on my bill. I let them know on the way out and didn't take the correction because $2 off an item for happy hour was robbery regardless. Fortunately for this place there are limited fine dining lunch options giving Boro the ability to fit this niche. Ambiance is consistently nice, 4 walls, water runs... If they want to charge what they charge they need better service or have better food. Beautifully decorated and a nice place for a date night. The last time we visited about a year ago this was 5 solid stars but this recent visit was not the same. We also noticed that the place is starting to show wear and not as appointed as it was on our last visit. We came for happy hour which was really only $1-2 off of a selection of menu items. We tried the $20 burger and it was ok. The charcuterie board was not that impressive either. I pulled up a photo of the last time we had it and it was not even close in quality, selection, and quantity. The arancini were small and swimming in sauce and totally over salted to the point we couldn't eat them. The fries were just ok. On a higher note the cocktails were done to perfection and presented well. Overall, I felt that for the prices they charge we should be fully impresssed but this visit was mediocre at best.

Hidden little gem in a strip mall. Happy Hour was great. Loved chatting with our bartender and watching the drinks being made. Pics say it all. Floral arrangements were beautiful.

Boro is an upscale, romantic venue with an excellent food and beverage program. I have enjoyed some wonderful dining experiences there in the past. Recently, the Clover Club cocktail was mixed perfectly! My one constructive criticism regards employee cellphone usage during shifts. Bartenders should not be scrolling on their cellphones in one hand while shaking a cocktail in the other.

This was our second time here. It is our daughter's local fav spot. We sat in the dining area last time. This time we sat at a corner table in the bar area. Place has a cozy yet upscale feeling. Today, we went mid afternoon after visiting a local new brewery. Cocktails were on the mark. Espresso martini, a cosmo, some smoked mezcal elixir and I had a Hendricks with blue cheese stuff olives. All on the mark. We were all craving burgers. But after hearing the menu additions, I decided on the oysters and mussels. The girls had the burgers. We also ordered some caviar topped potato puff pasty which was very yummy. Oysters and mussels were perfect. Burger perfect medium the way the girls like it. Service is always very attentive. Perfect pace. Kudos to Aaron and Katie for taking care of us.

Went this past weekend for a birthday dinner. This place never disappoints. The food is always amazing. The service is impeccable. The only thing is it is hard to hear if you are in the main dining area with the bar. The high ceilings and how busy it always it always cause us to have to be very loud to talk to be able to hear one another. I came home sounding horse from having to throw my voice! But the food is very much worth it. ,

We are visiting Pennington NJ and it's hard to find great food! This is the place to visit! Beautiful restaurant and amazing food! We ordered take out for our daughter who is expecting a new baby any day now and decided to have dinner in house. The food was amazing, fine dining. Beautiful bar area. You will be pleasantly surprised that such a gem sits off Route 31. Sorry for the short Rib papadelli photo! A bit blurred. It was great! The dessert is over the top ! Wait till you see the selection!

Excellent glass of Pinot noir and a plate of cauliflower gnocchi. Friendly, attentive staff are the best. Truffle frites and fresh bread with local honey butter will crush your low carb diet. But it is soooo good.

Except Food and Service. Grilled Romaine was amazing. Pork tenderloin was delicious. I can't resist the Zeppoli for dessert.

I just want to make sure Siri is accurate next to time someone asks for best restaurants in the area. 4.3 stars was a steep rating. This place presents as an upscale wannabe Italian restaurant. Food: Make sure you ask for the bread with sweet butter(It is delicious). I do not usually complain about food, but they asked and I was honest. Honestly the best thing I tasted at the table was the $18 kids burger and the $22 "Brisket" Burger(A typical burger with what you would add on a brisket. The Parpadelle pasta was delicious(the physical pasta not the crock pot shredded short rib. The broccoli rabe had no flavor at all, the chicken cutlet tasted like a refried Bell and Evans frozen cutlet.(very dry). The kids chicken fingers actually tasted better than the cutlet. Finally , the rib eye(cooked Medium) was pretty tasty and cooked to the correct temp. I will say that Texas Roadhouse $25 ribeye is better though. Service: Extremely slow, but the waitress explained that the kitchen was backed up tonight. We were brought the wrong food all night and it took about an hour to get the meal. I'm actually really surprised that management didn't even offer a free beverage for the long wait. Following the meal, we went to pay and we paid for the wrong bill which was as 200 dollars more. (They still didn't even credit anything for the inconvenience!) After not receiving any kind of credit for the awful service and mediocre food, I made sure to say that I would not be a repeat customer anyways loud enough for the locals at the bar to hear.... . I hope you have a better experience than I did....

Such an unexpected place that has quickly become our favorite. Beautiful cozy restaurant with amazing drinks and delicious food. There are so many gluten-free options!!!! The last time I was there, I tried the fried calamari, crunchy chicken, cauliflower gnocchi and the halibut. Oh the halibut! Cooked to perfection, topped with a crispy squash and served with black garlic sauce. Don't forget dessert! Try the zepoles! They are gluten free as well!!!

Atmosphere set the tone. Our server (she had her left eye brow pierced; don't recall her name bc I'm terrible at that part even being in the industry myself) but she was delightful, knowledgeable and prompt. She checked on us just enough but never smothering or neglectful. Cocktails and wine were great and over all staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back and look forward to trying more of your selection of cocktails wine and food. Thank you!

Food was good but service was horrible. Waitress didn't check on us after our entree came and then gave us the alcohol menu when we asked for the dessert menu. She didn't even come back to give us our check. Tried to catch her attention multiple times but she didn't look at our table at all. After 10 minutes, I had to ask the host, who just put it on the table without even a word. Not friendly at all. Would not recommend this place.

Always a wonderful experience at Boro -the food & drinks are top-notch and the service is always excellent. We ate outside for the first time and really enjoyed the patio. 5-star experience.

We stumbled upon this place by chance after spending a Sunday afternoon at Hopewell Valley Vineyards. The place took us by surprise when we walked in. We didn't expect such a lovely ambiance. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The Bartender, Will gave us some pointers on Mezcals and it's bottles. The food was not bad. It was bland and need some flavor. But overall decent. This place has the potential of semi casual to a romantic dining experience.

We had dinner reservations at 4pm. It was not crowded yet and there seemed to be a lot of staff on hand waiting around but for some odd reason, we had to wait for our food for a very long time. Even for appetizers. We did not leave until after 6pm. Other than the long wait for our meals, the service that we did receive was okay except for the fact that no one stopped by to check on us or update us on the food. The restaurant isn't big but it was cozy and decorated nicely for the holidays. The beet salad was delicious. Next time maybe we will just stop by the market side.

Kelsey was an outstanding and adorable server who made our experience at Boro fantastic. The spaghetti carbonara and ribeye were to die for, plus the bar/bartenders were stellar. Such a gorgeous restaurant with fabulous vibes! My husband and I will be back.

Our first but not the last visit to Boro. Our meal was fantastic, and the service amazing. What a wonderful lunch, on our 36th wedding anniversary. Looking forward to trying many of the menu offerings on future visits. We WILL recommend to our friends. Thanks for a great experience.

Food is very good, but service is slow and it's very noisy. And so expensive! I'd go again, but only for a special occasion

I went here with a group of 6 moms for Book club and what a surprise! I live down the street and have never been in! For a Wednesday late evening, it was. Bustling! It's in a small shopping plaza but you wouldn't be able to tell once inside, it seems very comfy, beautifully decorated and big! The atmosphere and vibe were romantic and fun! The parking lot was full but there was parking at the old TD behind it or at Pennington market. That busy on a Wednesday night? Well I could tell why once there! The drink menu, everything looked so good, it was hard to choose but I settled on a lady Viking, it was delish! I got a brisket burger. So yummy! Everyone loved their meals. The service was very good. If I had one remark, it would be the prices, I love a good au pouvre sauce but $48 for a steak is quite a bit and most of their menu seemed higher quality/on par for the price but that one stood out to me. Maybe on an anniversary dinner I'll have to try it! Definitely recommend and I'll be back! Also I've heard around town they have really good penne vodka but I didn't see it on the menu but I did see it under their market store menu. I will definitely pick it up one day to try.

We had calamari appetizer, wedge salad, halibut and filet mignon. Side of truffle fries, iced tea and one cocktail with well liquor. All was excellent but steak was over cooked. I ordered MR and it came MW. The steak was immediately replaced with a perfectly cooked MR. all good. Pricey but that's a la carte for you. $182 including tip. Save up.

This was our first visit and it was, unexpectedly, the best meal we have had in Central New Jersey in years. We had the grilled romaine salad, ricotta toast, halibut, and scallops, and each were balanced and it was clear that there was a chef in the kitchen who cared, and not just a cook. Our server was cordial, attentive but not obtrusive, and well informed about the food. The best summary of our evening is that this is the kind of place where the owner and/or chef pays attention to the details, is clearly in charge, and really cares. We will be back, and if like us, you have driven by this place without trying it, you are in for a nice surprise.

For this being my first time, I'll never come back. Wish I could give this place a higher rating however my friend and I were told we needed to leave since another table was waiting to be seated. Yes we stayed for quiet awhile however we ordered food and drinks the entire time! We started with two martinis (1 chocolate, 1 fig martini), two appetizers (calamari and scallops), two entrees (filet & chicken), 2 sides (Brussel sprouts & creamed spinach), 1 bottle of Sauvignon blanc, 1 dessert (creme brûlée), and 2 espresso martinis to end. WE SPENT $310.00 (INCLUDING 20% TIP) and for the hostess to approach us and tell us we needed to finish due to another table waiting and that we had been there a while is just completely rude! Not to mention the hostess approached us shortly after paying our bill and receiving our martinis! My friend even asked if we could have 5 min to finish our drink before being kicked out! I understand if we were holding up a table and not ordering anything but we clearly ordered a lot! We weren't even seated at a table...we were seated at a high top! Another thing, the website advertises happy hour Tuesday-Sat from 4-6pm and we were charged full price! It cost us $14 for 1 martini, wayyy too over priced in my opinion. We also couldn't sit at the bar bc the entire section was closed off for a holiday party. Wish I could give a better rating but what happed to us left a sour taste in my mouth. Our waitres was very sweet and the food was good but that's about it. Won't come back again, I'll spend my money elsewhere, thanks.

Same thing that happened 1 year ago--I order and pay in advance (with my non-Anglo name), and it's not there when we arrive. My white husband inquires, and we then wait for the order, which is missing key ingredients when it finally appears. Same woman at counter. Serious racism vibes.

My wife and I went there for our 40th anniversary. The food was very good. I had the ribeye and my wife had the halibut. The appetizers were also delicious. We shared the scallops casino and the calamari. The service was spot on. The ambiance was nice. They have a nice bar.

Paid $38 for this lovely piece of Salmon. Not only was the piece extremely small, they drizzled the beurre blanc on my horribly dry and overcooked sampler. Maitake was supposed to be included. It was never plated. It also called for green and white asparagus. I received two tips. Called and the supervisor was not very helpful and told me to drive 30 minutes to get a "better" piece. He said the salmon is usually just that size. Not happy and will not be going back or recommending.

Boro never disappoints. My favorite spot for special occasions, every day lunch--really any excuse to enjoy amazing food! The restaurant is always clean and beautifully decorated and everyone who works there is incredible.

Boro Market has taken over half the strip center at the corner of Delaware Avenue and Route 31, and turned it into an elaborate dining room, small cafe and epicurean market for those who like to indulge in their charcuterie fantasies. I was the sole morning person there today when I stopped in to check out their early day fare. Pretty impressive, is all I can say. The rear cafe space is large window sunshine bright, with a few deuce tables and two 4 stool counter shelves beneath the windows. Their refrigerator display case holds some mighty fine looking lunch/dinner possibilities that were mostly vegan, vegetarian and probably organic. My Breakfast Sandwich (eggs, bacon, melted provolone, mozzarella) came in a terrific sesame seeded torpedo roll from an Italian (?) bakery that produces artisanal aqua y farina. It looked as good as it tasted. From first crusty bite through last mastication, it was a phenomenal sandwich; so big I could only devour half in one sitting. Service is begun at the counter, and delivery by the staff completes it. Friendly and assured all the way. Certainly not the cheapest place to start the day, but justifies that occasion splurge. The locally roasted Java is also worth the price of admission, and can be purchased whole bean/ground there as well.

What an amazing place for dinner! I have been looking for a new place to try in the lawrenceville/Pennington area and this will be one of my new favorites. The ambiance is chic and cozy and we were able to be squeezed in for dinner, but definitely make a reservation, this place gets packed! And now I understand why! Food was delicious. We started with the iceberg salad, calamari and charcuterie. For dinner we had the filet, cavatelli and risotto (to die for). Our server was great!

Excellent food, great service, friendly atmosphere. This is one of my guaranteed stops when traveling down Route 31 when heading south to Virginia. The cannoli cookies they sell are one of my favorite foods. I highly recommend this place.

This is one of my favorite places in New Jersey to eat. I travel from Virginia on a monthly basis and make it a point to stop here. Cannoli cookies forever!

My wife and I had a very good experience at Boro overall. The service was excellent and we both enjoyed our entrees (filet mignon and swordfish). Prices are high but I felt we were served quality food. A couple of negatives: The Romaine salad was very bland -- the Caesar dressing had no taste or kick at all. However, the Little Gem salad was better. Also, at these prices I feel that Boro should add some type of side to each entree. The swordfish came with absolutely nothing else on the plate. Speaking of sides, we ordered the smashed fingerling potatoes and they were delicious.

Great food and ambience. We had dinner reservation on a weekday evening and was seated immediately upon arrival. The two fish dishes- halibut and salmon were average but the ossobuco and lobster risotto exceeded our expectations. Staff we're tentative and friendly. However, I had to take one star off as we waited 20+mins for the drinks on a not-so-busy evening after placing the order.

Great fresh food. Had an excellent cocktail LV .. the brussel sprouts were delicious. All tje food was prepped onsite and ingredients were excellent. Totally recommend

I will say that i was on the edge of 3 stars vs. 4 stars. The drinks, as people pointed out, are a little stingy on the amount. I think the selection and their house cocktails are pretty good and tasty, but would have to agree that they could do that extra second of pour to make it a bit nicer. Mussels and cockles was very delightful. Very tasty and the server knew well to bring us more bread for us to sop up the delicious broth. The food, was pretty tasty. A person in our party had the shrimp parpadelle. This was a little odd to me - pretty used to a meat ragu. I think that they also put Parmesan cheese on it - which my italian friends would say is a no-no. I think the other problem was that it had a TON of olives which was also a little odd - overpowered the shrimp and all other tastes. Personally, would go back to the meat sauce and do some sort of angle hair seafood pasta of sorts. Idea on the parpadelle is right but just... not a fan of this dish. I had the pork chop. Very well seasoned and well cooked. Very juicy and impressively spot on. Also with a side of Brussels - very well cooked - but MAYBE a touch too much char... still, very good... well... too much char... haha. It was close but i would prefer there to be just a little less. The cheese cake desert was quite good. Had it to go because I was stuffed.

We split opinions on Boro, hence the three star rating. We both enjoyed our appetizers, the goat cheese croquettes and charcuterie board. I had the carbonara - it was delicious. Creamy egg yolk, salty prosciutto, and chewy al dente pasta. For $21, I expected the portion to be a bit larger, but the flavor was outstanding. Husband had the rib eye. He ordered medium rare, but it wasn't cooked hot enough to allow the fat (and there was a LOT of fat) to melt into the meat and distribute flavor/juiciness. It was just cold gristle. He didn't end up finishing the steak, which was a disappointment considering the price point (about $140 for 2 apps, 4 glasses of wine, and 2 entrees, including taxes but not tip). Service was attentive and polished. Bar is very inviting - will be back for apps and drinks, but not dinner, when COVID restrictions are lifted.

My husband and I stopped here randomly- so glad we did! This was honestly one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food was excellent- they have a menu chock full of unique items. They also have a very well-stocked bar with some interesting cocktails. We generally don't drink cocktails (I'm more of a wine and beer person), but my husband tried one that was recommended by our server which was delicious. And that brings me to the main reason our experience was so delightful. Our server Brandon was a personable college student ( the restaurant is close to the TCNJ campus) who was very knowledgable about the food and drinks, was very attentive (my water glass never dropped below half full), and really made the evening enjoyable. We live an hour away but I will definitely be back!

I live in Chicago but wherever I go to visit my client in New Jersey I have to go and taste this Pizza. It's heaven !! Can't say more ... try it to believe me.

What a pretentious terrible place. Boro is great if you want: Bottom shelf spirits passed for top. Select quality meat dressed as prime. To overpay for extremely inconsistent food. To be asked for the table when you are not finished. To be mistreated by staff. You can do much better in the area. Save your money and go somewhere else.

This place was very nice and elegant. The customer service was amazing, our server/bartender Jennifer was awesome. She made sure we had everything we needed and always saw that we were taken care of not waiting long for anything. The food was good but was a bit over cooked. The ambiance was definitely one for a date night for a Friday or Saturday for sure.

We had a nice dinner here. The restaurant looks nicer in the inside than the outside would imply. Prices are on the high side for the area but service was good and not rushed. In general food was good although slow at times. One of our entrees came out burned but was eventually replaced but no apology or any acknowledgment of the issue. Overall would try them again.

Had an outstanding experience at Boro Restaurant! The staff provided top-notch service. The food was exceptional, and we were pleasantly surprised to spot Santa, adding a festive touch to our visit. Definitely a 5-star dining experience!

The best burger that i have had in all of new jersey. NYC vibe. cocktails are extremely original. professional service. ben is a fantastic host. jennifer is awesome. the market food is also awesome katie does an amazing job with the market. truffle fries incredible desserts are great outstanding vibe.
