Borough Cheese Co

We live abroad and on every visit to London we visit the Borough Cheese stall in Borough Market. We specifically like the 24 month aged Comte. The guys on the stall are exceptional, both cheery (even in the coldest of weather) and truly knowledgeable about the cheeses. They are a pleasure to visit.

My family visited the Borough Cheese Co stall, and the experience left us baffled. The women salespeople were friendly, however the two men (boys?!) working the stall seemed more interested in showing off to their workmates than serving customers. Their behaviour came across as dismissive, with jokes made at our expense and an attitude that stank more than the blue cheese. It felt unprofessional and cringeworthy, with no sense of basic sales etiquette. The products looked good, but the way we were treated overshadowed everything, and it’s not a stall we’d choose to visit again.

I ordered chesse on 21 Dec - it came almost 2 weeks later. I spent over the free delivery threshold, yet was charged a £9 delivery fee. I contacted the company via the contact form on their website, and by email on 4 separate occasions and received no response. A truly terrible standard of customer servce from a company who trade on the notion of a high quality product and brand. I won't ever buy again.

Stop what you are doing and go get some cheese! This place is amazing. Try a taste of a few Comtes, Goudas and Morbiers. My personal favourite is the 24 month aged comte! (which should be available again around October and is worth the wait!)

Charged over £20 for 250g Comte yesterday. Scammed. If you own this business, let me know and I will provide you all the evidence and more info.

The staff were very friendly. I was able to sample a few cheeses and get it vacuumed sealed.

Very disappointed, the taste that wow'd on the market was sadly very lacking. In fact was poor. So so disappointed won't buy cheese again from the market. Which is a shame don't want to put all the eggs in one basket.

Extremely rude staff for overpriced cheese. Take your business elsewhere
