If you are interested in Hungarian wine, this is the place to go for a tasting. The host Smike has an incredible knowledge about local wines and history. He presented every wine (3 white, 3 red, 1 dessert wine) with a lot of passion and insight. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

We booked the wine tasting through Get Your Guide. It was a bit pricey but we tried good portions of 8 Hungarian wines. Eight people sat at the table. The host shared history and information about each wine and region. She started with simpler wines and moved to more complex wines to build knowledge and understanding of the different factors influencing the wine. There was still plenty of time to talk in the group too. The official wine tasting was about 2 hours but we all spent about 4.5 hours there. We didn't know anyone else at the start but we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know people from 5 different countries in our little group. The time flew! I will say that we (in our 40s) were by far the oldest there. The others ranged from teens to maybe 30.

Absolutely fantastic wine bar. I joined a tasting with Sally and she's great, knowledgeable and friendly. All the staff are friendly and the selection of wine is amazing. Highly recommend.

When you just come from the street, you won’t know what to expect, but Bortodoor will be the most pleasant surprise, not only, but especially, if you’re into wine. The service is wonderful, the bartenders are bubbly, smart and kind and just generally fun to be around. They create a familiar atmosphere that allows you to loose the track of time when you’re in this establishment. Overall a great experience and 100% would recommend to swing by if you’re into wine Budapest and test their unbreakable knowledge about wine.

If you'd like to drink some excellent wine, forget everything else and immediately RUN to Bortodoor! 🍷 This is The best wine place in Budapest not only because of the exceptional wine selection and amazing atmosphere (including fab music), but also for the best, nicest and most knowledgeable staff! Once you sit down, you'll never want to leave 🫶🏻

We did a wine tasting here and it was brilliant! The wine and nibbles provided were both fantastic. Sally talked us through the wines and was incredible helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. I would recommend this wine bar to anyone in the area!

Ok if the universe was looking to serve me the perfect bar in Hungary, she did her job well! Sally was incredible, the wines are fantastic, Schmike is a wealth of knowledge, and the whole experience was out of this world. Sally also made the most mind-blowing delicious and beautiful cheese and meat plate with….Parmesan crusted salami!! Come here every single time you can, I can’t wait to come back

Great and cozy place in the heart of Budapest and with its own style. They have wine tasting events and live music. If you're looking for the perfect blend of ambiance, service and an exceptional wine selection, look no further. This wine bar is an absolute gem.. The stuff are adorable and friendly.
