Bossa Nova Brazilian Cuisine

When visiting LA, one of my close friends took me to Bossa Nova for a late dinner. All around it was a great experience from the service to the food. We shared an appetizer and a main course (MANUELLA’S). The food was great. Really no complaints.

I had very nice experience here went for dinner on a Sunday evening, the food is delicious, atmosphere is welcoming service very good! I will go back!The manager Antoanela is very professional and her attention to details is her top priority.

Went here for dinner on a Friday night and really enjoyed it! Inside is cute, staff is friendly, and food is solid. Got the salmon plate with beans, mashed potatoes, and plantains and would recommend all of them

We were lucky to have Brazilian friends at this dinner, who explained and recommended dishes to us. As we wanted to try everything, we ordered 2 Churrascos to share amongst 4 while the other friends ordered separately. The generous plates of food began arriving. The very important steak (Picanha) was medium rare and nicely chargrilled. My absolute favourite was the Cheese Bread (pro de queijo), which received a lot of praise from our Brazilian friends for its soft, slightly gooey cheese melted in warm, fresh bread. I also loved the Fried Plantain, sweet without being overpowering. The Black Beans with rice, eaten with a sprinkling of yucca flour, was more delicious than I could've imagined. The place was bustling on a weeknight, with lots of laughter and conversation all around us. The kitchen turnover was fast despite the many items we ordered. A fairly worthwhile experience to repeat and try out the other offerings.

The food was great and the perfect quantity. My favorite part was the cake. The size was bigger than I was expecting and the taste was definitely something! We ordered a carrot cake and a red velvet cake, both of which were some of the best we have had

Corto was excellent! He was very attentive to our table and gave us very great advice on what is good on the menu!!! 5 stars well earned!!!

Im going to support Mauro who wrote a review. I too found a piece of plastic in my food while dining in'house. I didnt make a big deal about it because Im here for a friends birthday. I will also support others who have commented on the poor service. We were standing in the front for quite some time with three staff members having walked past us without even acknowledging us or making eye contact. We eventually did get seated. I will say, as a positive, the food has been good so far.

Made a reservation for my birthday for a party of 10. Wonderful place, great atmosphere and the food was excellent!! The waiters had a lot of patience for our group and service only got a little slow towards the end of the night (the place was busy!).

Love this restaurant ! I am born and raise in Brazil and I can say the food is very accurate to my country! Everything there tastes delicious and the place is very cozy and romantic ! My experience got even better by the way I was attended to by Cleto. Excellent service and friendly special place!

Delicious food, courteous servers and a lively (crowded) Friday evening. I recommend reservations! We were walk-ins and Mary was wonderful in securing a table for us. The wait was about 20 minutes, so not bad at all. Surprisingly the space isn't too loud in spite of the number of diners. The food never disappoints! So many lovely options to choose from. We enjoyed a glass of the Malbec with our meal. I was a little surprised that the glass was chilled for a red, but thankfully, the wine wasn't cold and once the chill left the glass, it was fine. Our food was absolutely delicious! We had the seafood pasta with shrimp and salmon, chicken breast with Caesar salad and fries. The fries are perfectly cooked.

I had the new short rib pasta and it was very savory. Wish it was spicy but that's what hot sauce and pepper flakes are for. Thanks for the recommendation Cleto!!

My husband and I spent our four year anniversary here and it was absolutely amazing. Our server was so kind and attentive. The food was outstanding and flavorful. The ambiance and music was light and comfortable. Which a great experience. We will definitely be back. :)! Also- the steak and plantains are my absolute fave. Highly recommend

We have done Bossa Nova at another location but this location wasn't as good as others we've visited. We got there early so they weren't very busy and the most surprising thing that happened when we were there was that some guy came in yelling at the kitchen (almost as if he worked there and knew them personally), but he was so loud that everyone in the restaurant was like "is this guy deranged"? It was weird and nobody shoo-ed him away or batted an eye which is why it felt like he worked there and was off the clock. Our waitress was nice but she seemed checked out. She got us our water and then never returned to give us a refill or ask how our food was. The food wasn't that good either .. in fact, my son's chicken tenders were decent but the bbq sauce --that we had to flag the waitress down for-- was really weird. It had a tanginess that was kind of off.. sour almost. He didn't want to use it. My pizza was fine, nothing too special. My husband got a grain bowl that was much more filling than he realized. Parking was weird too. We parked in the lot attached to the restaurant and there was no one at the valet booth so we figure it wasn't starting yet, but when we came out the valet demanded us to pay $5. It's not that much but definitely seems silly when he didn't park our car nor did he have the keys. Wasn't really a fan of that either. All in all, go to a different location!

This place is definitely useful when you want late night food, it is a solid 7/10 I would say the food taste good but definitely nothing special. The service is fine they come take the order and then give you the check, again nothing special. Be prepared to spend it's definitely in the pricier side for what it is.

OMG we love this place. Was even better than the last time. I can't believe it's been so long since we've been here. Definitely plan on coming more often. The foods was delicious! It's bit expensive for the portions, but overall it's worth it as it's open late, easy parking, great service, tons of menu options. There will definitely be something for even the pickiest of eaters. Thank you Bossa Nova!

Bossa Nova never fails. This is my favorite location as their food is the most consistent. We always order the beef stroganoff which is to die for!! the flavor and the amount of meat is perfect. I do wish that they have their skinny fries available all the time. I really prefer the skinny fires over their regular fries. We've tried the oxtail risotto, paella brazillian style, churasco and many more. This place is very good and i am so happy they are open late as well. Service is always quick and great. Definitely one of my favorite brazillian restaurants out there. p.s. def try the salsa as well *drools*

Great option if you're looking for a late night Brazilian bites option! We ordered the chicken and cheese pastel, guava and cheese pastel, and fried yucca. All very tasty finger fried foods - great for sharing!. The ambiance was chill and service was good! Parking lot is available next door.

Unexpected find right off the main street near my neighborhood. Stopped here for dinner with my best friend on a whim because we were wanting to try Brazilian and let me tell you. It was a wonderful surprise because the service by our server Michael was phenomenal and the food recommendations that he provided us specifically the Manuela pasta, was delicious. Also took initiative to bring the entire dessert tray over after our meal because he knew he could convince us to buy a small treat to finish our meal and sure enough, his initiative worked because we definitely eyed the walnut covered truffle ball (brigadeiro) and could not resist. we also ordered the calamari, which I thought was a good portion and very crispy although I will warn other yelp folks to avoid the fried lemon because that was a mouthful of oil, and the mini pot pie, which was a breaded round pastry of chicken salad, was delicious. Very happy with the appetizers. Solid 4 stars. Special shout out to my girl Fiona because she was the reason some of these pictures turned out so well. She even asked for the lid to be taken off the desserts so that we could take a picture for this Yelp review that was not through the glass and I have to admit the pictures turned out pretty darn good. I would rated the food at four star because we cleaned out the plates, and the dessert a solid, three star, mostly because brigadeiros are too sweet for my taste and we left half uneaten but Michael's wonderfully friendly, and attentive service and his fantastic recommendations and also the overall service of the general staff who brought out the dishes and other items was very attentive and kind so I upgraded this review to a five star. Of their many locations for some reason the food here tastes better, the service less rushed, the patron energy lower less Hollywood like..We ate the caprese salad,heavenly, beef skewers well seasoned and a pizza, perfect All the stores are great, better than most..but this is numerous uno

I recently placed an order for a pepperoni pizza, a cedar salad, and a side of plantains. I was impressed by the speed of the delivery, which arrived much earlier than anticipated. However, upon tasting the pizza, I was disappointed to find that it was extremely salty and had unfortunately cooled down during transit, lacking the warmth and freshness I had hoped for. In contrast, the cesar salad surprised me with its warmth, which was unexpected and didn't quite align with what I normally expect from a salad. The plantains, though, were a nice addition and added a bit of brightness to the meal. Overall, while the service was prompt, the temperature and seasoning of the items left much to be desired.

The food Is always amazing! Such great service as well. Cleto is so great as well! Super nice and attentive, great customer service! Will keep coming back and the food is high quality as well! Side note dogs are allowed as well

Finally got the chance to try Bossa Nova as I've driven by it so many times. For starters, we had the coxinha and the empadinha. Both were extremely dry. For entrees, we had the skirt steak and sante fe salad. The steak was awesome. Both entrees were really great. Overall though the experience felt more just 'OK'. Both my partner and I were uncomfortable in their chairs. The tables are also a little too close to each other. The acoustics are also a little off. The noise of other tables travels far so you can hear everyone around you. I think if we returned I would prefer the table at the front by the window. It seems more spacious.

Great for and excellent services Cleto was my waiter. the shrimp was amazing the fried was season to perfection.... The. Place was clean and and well kept!!!!! The manager even came to our table to make sure all was well!!!!

As a Brazilian I can confirm that restaurant has a good Brazilian food, really tasty. The bolinho de camarão, shrimp was divine. The rice and black, add farofa, reminds my aunt's feijoada. The service bus really nice. The ambiance even casual is upscale in the same way. They some American dishes as well. My sister in law got Mac and Cheese. It is not cheap, but it is worth.

It's Sunday evening 11pm, the SO gets the munchies and not in the mood for some fast food burger. After some research we decide to head to Bossa Nova. Not sure why the low rating, but we had a very good time. Our server Cleto was chill and took good care of us, the food was excellent (props to the cook who made our steak more medium than well done as we ordered, it was much better for that decision!) and the ambience was relaxed. We had not expected that for a random late night spot and will be back.

Food is pretty good & tasty, no complaints, but the prices are pretty ridiculous imo. I realize it's not easy to run a restaurant, but I've found myself coming here less and less since they've raised their prices. The staff is friendly for the most part, but it takes forever to get takeout from here I've waited up to 30 minutes several times.

1 waiter had the ENTIRE place to himself. There seemed to be at least 3 people in the kitchen/counter prepping pick-up orders. Really? The food was good, but didn't make up for piled-up dishes on our table, empty water glasses for our kids, or having to hunt the waiter down for our bill.

Cleto was great. He was the only server tonight but he did his best to accommodate everyone. He made great wine recommendations. It wasn't too rowdy like the Hollywood locations of course. Which is perfect because I just got off a flight and just wanted to get some food and wine with my sibling. Will be back

My experience tonight on December 6, 2024. The food was good but the gnats inside the restaurant made the evening unpleasant to say the least. The server did his best to accommodate us but we had 10-15 gnats all night flying around the table. The other tables had them, as well. Hopefully, they fix this issue at this location. Sad they didn't offer us a discount or anything. I do not recommend this place based on the problem above. The address is 10982 W. Pico Blvd.

Went to Bossa Nova around 12:30 this morning with a few friends ans it was pretty chill. We were able to get seated immediately and I did notice the staff giving us a funny look initially but it was brief. When we ordered everything was fine at first but one if my friends had ordered his entree and they forgot tonput his order in until after everyone else at our table had been served, and then when his order was brought out it included items he specifically asked to be removed. The staff may have been tired due to how late it was so I'm not attributing it to malice. Food: I ordered the white truffle pasta, for my noodles I chose penne and for my protein I added shrimp. It had the right anount of truffle oil infused into the sauce and the noodles were cooked to perfection. I honestly had no complaints about my food. 4.5/5.

Been awhile since I been here and to be honest I hate that I waited so long to return. While they have several locations and even one close to where I live, this one is my favorite. Staff here are extremely nice and patient, especially while you go back and forth deciding what dish you want to order because everything is great, lol. Another plus is there late night hours, so you can enjoy your dinner, enjoy conversations and not feel rushed.

My compliments to the chef! I stopped by and grabbed a bunch of dishes from the happy hour menu, and everything was extremely delicious. The ceviche was a wow! Very freshly made to order and the waiter provided excellent service! I strongly recommend this location.

I drove 2 hours to eat at this place and would never come back I ordered a pasta called Porto while eating my food I found plastic in my food and was told it wasn't plastic and our waiter kept fucking up on our orders and drinks and to top it off there were nats flying around while we were eating

We ordered 3- 6 person dinners 18 servings. We had 10 guests. The portions delivered served 4-5 guests and we were in big trouble with no time to fix. It was an awful and embarrassing experience I will not forget. Also sad because we Love this restaurant! They obviously have issues with portion size for the family meals. We paid 500$ and uber eats gave us a 30$ refund: we had to scramble to feed our guests just was in our freezer. Horrible experience.. sorry :(

Cieto was great! Very attentive and courteous. i don't know any other restaurant open this late (past 11pm), that pay as much attention to detail at this hour. We ordered the cheese bread, a beet salad with tenderloin steak, and the bossa nova chicken sandwich.

Always love the service and food when I come in with my husband! Cleto served us this evening and was very attentive, made sure any food modifications were met, very friendly. We always come back, and it's always amazing food.

Parking is $7 dollars Smaller location, no bar. I have been here a couple times. Not my favorite location but good. Service is pretty slow and inattentive. Staff never checks back on table. I got Salmon hot off the grill but the sides of roasted vegetables were more on the burnt side. Waiter came back when I literally finished the plate except the vegetables. So now I'm taking a bowl of black beans home to eat by itself. Food is tasty. Service could be way better. Getting seated took awhile

This is my favorite location from all the places. Each area is different. More towards Hollywood is more bougie. This location has more chill vibes but has good food and fast service. Thank you, Cleto, for the service. He and everyone who works here has never had a bad experience.

The place is so elegant and pretty! Parking is difficult so expect to spend sometime looking for street parking. Staff was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious! It was so great to have Brazilian food a few months after coming back from Brazil, and it was amazing! Look out for lunch specials and different weekday specials too.

I recently went to Bossa Nova after not having been there for many years. I will not wait many years in between return meals. Bossa Nova has been very good for a very long time and remains delicious. Chicken, plantains, veggies, yucca, diced tomatoes were all as great as I remembered.

Cleto is always such a lovely server! Consistently great tasting food during the day or late at night. Always clean and very chill. I love coming back here. The only thing I didn't enjoy was their ceviche.

Ordered a Copacobana "Philly Style" sandwich for delivery to work and it was freshly prepared and juicey tender with all the harmony of spices in it. I will have to say this restaurant put a winning Brazilian twist to a classic American sandwich that I am loving!
