Bossa Nova Mall

Bossa Nova Mall is a great airport shopping spot with amazing views of the Rio bay and a wonderful restaurant selection, cute shops and car rental office. It's a nice place to kill time before your flight and enjoy the free wifi at the Uber stop.

Finding the parking lot is the main challenge, there is connection to airport Rio on main ground level and it's so busy Mall, there's many good restaurants in this Mall, the building is a little old but you can find most of famous brands in this Mall. The building has four level story, you can get into South side or North and East

Conveniently located next to/attached to the SDU airport, this is a small shopping center with a decent selection of stores. We went to the mall for the purpose of going to CASV, located one floor below ground. Great views from the outside of the mall. There's an Uber lounge which makes it easy to get an Uber.

The Mall is conveniently located near SDU airport, offering a few shops and a couple of restaurants. While this is all quite convenient, I didn't quite get the feeling of being in a Mall—rather, it felt more like an extension of the airport. On the plus side, it's great to have the proximity to the airport, with the added bonus of being able to step outside and enjoy a walk while waiting for departures.

The mall is connected to the airport. Went there for my biometric and photo apply for my US visa application. They’re very organized and fast. It took me around 20-30 mins or so in total from waiting on my schedule to finish. The guy who took my fingerprints and photo speaks English so not speaking Portuguese won’t be a problem. Got my visa approved and pick up my passport faster than the biometric process. Remember to schedule and appointment when picking up your passport otherwise you’ll waste your time.

Mall is fairly average with regular shops but it is attached to the airport so that makes it convenient to hang out in and eat at the food court on the mezzanine while you wait for a flight. If you can, go straight to the rooftop restaurant or terrace lounge instead.

Death mall I came here on Saturday afternoon and there is nothing to eat or buy. I wasted my time :(

Well worth a visit! This area adjacent to SDU airport is beginning to grow nicely. Hungry? There is a food hall in which I can highly recommend Divino Fogao where you can take fixed price plate or pay-by-weight. Food selection was good, well cooked and presented and tasted great. I will go everytime i fly or am in the area.

2.5 stars for the potential is has to become a better mall. This new mall is in an ideal location to capture the transit of people to and from the airport. A few stores have a nice store front and the strong air conditioning is welcoming in the hot Rio weather. However, it seems to have opened with only a few stores in place. I assume the hope is to fill the mall with other stores but it seems like they would have already signed the leases. Forever 21 and Le Lis Blanc are the first stores you see when exiting the airport and have a modern welcoming storefront. The other stores either weren't open or were harder to find. The food court, again aesthetically pleasing with open natural lighting, really only had two restaurants: Subway and Burger King. There the coffee shop Katz and a VIP airport lounge and a kiosk of super paletas but hardly more than that. There were a lot of "coming soon" signs that showed the mall has a lot more potential. It's really not worth visiting now but maybe later when more stores are actually open.

This place is still in need of a lot of work. The idea itself is great: a fancy shopping mall connected to Rio's Santos Dumont airport. As of the moment I'm writing this though, there is still a lot of construction. In fact, not even all the stores/restaurants listed on the mall's website are open yet. The mall also houses a VIP lounge for the airport, but as we weren't flying we didn't have a chance to check it out. For now, the saving grace of the mall is that it has a Forever 21. As far as I know, that's the only one in this area, with the next closest being located in Barra Shopping. The food court and other options aren't that great. Maybe as the mall develops and brings in some revenue it will start to attract other businesses and really bloom, but for now, only go if you're looking for something at Forever 21.
