I really respect this place for keeping their lunch special at 4.99 in 2023 even though everyone is raising their prices and blaming inflation (the ingredients themselves aren’t 200% more expensive!) That is a smart move that keeps this place busy. However they could put less salt and more spice in their jerk chicken, curry chicken, and oxtail gravy. Tastes like they’re covering up old chicken by putting so much salt in there. And I’ve had so much better cabbage, sorry but this tasted like nothing. The chicken curry patty was A+ though. 3 stars because you still can’t beat the price. If they adjusted their recipes they could be great.

As of November 7, 2024 I am no longer a patron of this establishment. I have been a long time customer of this place but today I found they do not value me as a longtime customer. The lady took my ticket to confirm my meal. When I got home, I found it wasn't the food I ordered. I called the establishment and told them. The lady never apologized. She told me I needed to come back immediately if I wanted to get my original order. And she said she had to see the food hadn't been tampered with or eaten. I told her this was a big inconvenience to me and asked if I could be compensated in some way. She said the food would be free. I returned to the establishment and the two ladies bickered amongst themselves. I never received an apology, and on top of that, the lady said my food was not going to be free. She went on to say the exchange of the food would be free (smh). This was really upsetting. I asked for my money back and left. They have lost a long-time customer. This establishment does not value their patrons.

It was my first time visiting and I must say that I will be going back a lot more because I am sold on their ideas and experience. It was refreshing. Social distancing at its best and all was well. The place is neat. The food was delicious and you have a variety of beverages to chose from. As most Caribbean food place, know what you are ordering before you step in line. If you don’t, don’t take their response personal. Just trying to serve the next person especially if there is a long line.

Absolutely amazing food.. If u get there by 3pm it's only 5 n sum change for the lunch special... The manager is so sweet... I'm very grateful for her and thus restaurant 💚

We went to this restaurant today for their lunch special, which the lunch special ends at 3:00PM. We walked into the restaurant at 2:58PM, and there was one person ahead of us. By the time the person was finished ordering and we got to the counter to ask about the lunch special, the front desk cashier said that the lunch special is over. Mind you, the clerk saw us walk in before 3 o’clock, and it was 3 o’clock on the dot when we got to the window to order. This situation really shows their lack of integrity. It also shows no morale for paying customers, and that they have no sense of business acumen. The food isn’t even good, so they should be happy that anyone is utilizing their lunch special. The girl at the front needs to use her brain before she runs future customers away. I can see why they have so many negative reviews. We left and gladly won’t be back.

I paid $13 even for a small curry chicken plate. The rice was hard as in it was not done! , the chicken had a good flavor not enough gravy, and the cabbage is absolutely horrible. No flavored and it has mixed vegetables in it when I say its not near seasoned, they can do a lot better they give you a lot of food but it’s not good

Use to be one of my favorite spot over the years. It's been a while since I came back. I order the jerk pork but they game me jerk chicken. I did look at the order when I got the food cause it was already bagged up. I drive an hour back home and find its jerk chicken. I called them letting the know the situation mean old lady got on the phone started questions everything. After I prove that I order pork and they messed up, she tell me to put the jerk chicken in the refrigerator and bring it back to show proof. Well lady here your proof I took a picture of it. Bad customers service. I'm done with this place. I had to end up stop another Jamaican spot that better they offer beef patties with Mac and cheese with oxtail in Coco bread at Kingston's Caribbean restaurant 2100 Candler Rd Suite B, Decatur, GA 30032. Trust me you won't be disappointed.

I really wanted to like this place and I do kinda like it. They have a couple things they could do to raise this to 5 stars. You can easily see this place from the street and it is a stand alone building that sticks out. The parking lot is half paved. I came in and both menu signs were out. The menus are on two TVs. They did not have any printed menus. Good thing I already knew what I wanted. I ordered the Large Oxtails with yellow rice. They charged 4% for using a credit card. They did not have a bathroom for customers. I got my food and the oxtails were cold. The rice and cabbage were warm but the oxtails were cold with warm gravy. So disappointing. The flavor was good but I expected more of a kick.

I ordered huge trays of food from here for my baby shower and everyone could not stop talking about how good the food was. I was worried there would be a ton of left overs but everyone ate it up! The owners are really nice as well :) We got Jerk chicken, curry shrimp, ribs, and rice.

This place serves AUTHENTIC Caribbean food! Jerk pork is good but too fatty, the food overall is good, I took off 2 stars for the horrible customer service. Their customer service is rude. Once, my boyfriend had to cuss them out because the light skin lady kept rushing me to move after I got my food when I was putting hot sauce on my food.

My sister and I visited this restaurant today and the food and customer service was awful. My sister took one forkful of the food but couldn't eat anymore because the food was very salty. I encouraged her to take it to the counter and ask for patties instead. The counter person told her that they "don't cook with salt." He said something to the cook who then barged out of the kitchen and cursed out my sister. He did not try to correct the issue, offer an apology but instead cursed her out loudly in front of the other customers. Both the food and customer service were awful and we will not support this business in the future.

Service quick and people nice. Curry chicken was a lil salty but everything else was good. $5 a plate ain't bad at all.

I'm a 32 year Police Veteran. I work extra jobs as a Police Officer In Atlanta Georgia.On 09/09/2024 at approximately 11:45am, My work crew was working outside this establishment, I went into this establishment as asked if I could use their restroom. Answer was NO. So they lost 8 paying customers with this answer. Me personally, If an establishment want let a paying customer use their restroom facility, they will not get my business ever again. I rated this a one star because of this action. This Restaurant denied a Police Officer to use the restroom.

Alright I'll be up front with you here. Boston Jerk has some of the best smoked meats you're gonna find in this city. Chicken, ribs, all of it. Honestly if they decide Caribbean isn't the move for them I'll be the first person to pop up and say "Become a BBQ spot! Serve me some collards and yams and were golden!" I can't comment on the authenticity of it, I don't enjoy their jerk sauce at all. But the MEAT seriously. Get some jerk chicken or the ribs. Wow. Everything is tasty and juicy, prices are nice, and I really could go for the meat now. Just go here for the chicken alone. I promise if you liked smoked meats it's the place to be. And yea I suppose they've got the traditional sides. The rice and peas are good, the oxtail is solid, especially that gravy. They've got a lot of patty flavors, and a solid drink & dessert menu. ...But really? Go here and try their chicken.

I got the jerk meal not knowing they had a lunch special. As soon as I paid I asked could I get the curry instead and they wouldn't change my meal. Rhe food was nasty, building looked ran down, and service is horrible. I won't be going back, & will have everybody I know leave a bad review until I'm reimbursed from these foreign frauds

false advertising. had the price for fish as $19. However I was charged 25 for the fish. The cashier claimed that it was a large fish. There was only one price advertised. That is down a dirty practice. They ought to be stopped

I love this place they have the best oxtails,red beans and rice. The cabbage is very good also and restaurant is always clean. They have cheap lunch specials but I only get oxtails when I go.The customer service could be more professional but I will go either way.Lol

I'm six months pregnant so I drove 45 mins to get here and they closed 30 mins earlier. She then proceeds to take my order over the phone and the owner tells her no more orders so she refuses to take my order I then ask to speak to him and you hear him say he's not talking!!!! Very disappointed I will not be coming back here!

I ate here for lunch one day a couple of weeks ago. Ordering at the counter, I had the oxtails (large meal) over rice with cabbage and plantains for $12. The serving was large and well worth the money. The food tasted very good. The gravy was also very good. This meal was very filling and made me happy. The dining room was clean and had a tv. The restroom requires you getting a key from the ordering counter. It was clean. I would happily return. Counter service was friendly. This is a good place to eat with very reasonable prices.

I had to knock a star off for the facilities and lack of vegetarian options. Good food, friendly staff, but you will feel like you are at someone's house given that the staff are watching tv in the main dining room. Lots of drink options, my food came out hot and fresh, and the cashier was super helpful. Unsolicited Suggestions ... Pave the parking, because I drove the VW and left the Combat Earthmover home. I almost fell into a pothole and shot off an embankment at the same time. It's rough. The cashier seemed very confused when I asked for a vegetable curry plate. I didn't think it was that complicated. To her credit, she went above and beyond to prepare me something nice, and it was delicious. I asked her why her Yelp ratings were low, because the staff was so nice... she said the manager had been discouraged by reviews and they were trying to make a comeback. You got to love that. I will definitely eat here again, I appreciate their efforts to make the facilities and service match the quality of the food. Try the lunch specials- the low prices do not reflect quality or portion... excellent meal!

When I tell you this place pissed me off like nobody's business I mean it. For starters I waited 30 minutes for take out only to find out the unfriendly woman at the counter didn't ring up my curry chicken or breadfruit. I asked her where the food was after getting tired of waiting. How y'all don't have food ready when I'm there at 10:56 and the doors open at 11? SMH! They are slow: Prices are reasonable - $10 for jerk pork but the sauce was too salty patties (jerk chicken + beef) were 10/10 And very good $1.79 Drinks - $3.50 which is too high - pineapple ginger was 6/10 - too much ginger. I asked the girl where the plantains were and she said they were coming. I'm lost on how folks coming 10+ minutes after me have all their food. I will not return! Poor customer service all around!

Horrible customer service that woman with the glasses had a nasty attitude no wonder the place was empty today. Been going there for years but lately she's got worse and it's to the point I will not be returning especially if she is there and it's a shame because the food is actually good

Had my mouth really for some stewed chicken and veggies and what i got was a plate of mess. Disappointment can not even come close to what i was feeling. Ive eaten here several times before a couple of years back and when i say it has changed!!!!!!! I wanted to take all the food back but i was hungry and tired and figure you got me on this round and i wont be back. PBJ sandwich night and a sprite was much better i should have stayed home. No Jamaican flavor just ugh. Don't say i didn't warn you.

The cashier was so rude that I cancelled my order. the lady in the back kept side eyeing me as if I did something and all I did was walk in. The cashier will not greet you once you walk in and has a very very very bad attitude. the staff is very unappreciative and knows nothing about customer service.

While on the way to my doctors appt. I stopped by Boston Jerk Center for lunch. I ordered the lunch special $3.99. They portion sizes are good but the food looked like leftovers. I could tell that the meat wasn't fresh, the plantains weren't either. The interesting part is that there was a long line of customers waiting to order. That makes me think that maybe my experience is a one-off. I haven't decided if I will go back.

Updated: 9/29/2020 For years I've dined at this establishment and one other time I gave them a one start then changed the review because I love the food but they people that work their are BEYOND RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! On their menu there are certain items that state CALL TO ORDER! I referred my office to order lunch from them and they refused to take a call in order. I have made call in orders, as well as ordered catering! I SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS BUT THEY HAVE NO MANNERS!!!!!! I was just told I don't care if you are placing 100 orders we are not taking to go orders! When you go there and wait in that long line you are INDEED placing a TO GO ORDER!!!! It's too late to change the entire office order so they will get our money today but I will NEVER BE BACK!!! AFTER MANY YEARS IM DONE! TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS WITH A LITTLE MORE RESPECT SINCE IT IS US THAT KEEP YOUR DOORS OPEN! Last review was four years ago which shows how long I've been a customer! Today's date 9/29/2029

Can't believe it's been 5 years since my last review here. Went back Sat, 11/9/19. * Jerk chicken is still on point and I still say they need to sell this jerk sauce. It just makes everything right with the world. I'm a dark meat lover & hubby is white meat. The problem is everyone can't grill white meat without drying it out. During this visit, my husband wanted to negotiate getting more of my dark meat because ummm the white meat was dry, very dry and even the sauce couldn't remedy it. I was kind and shared with him but I wasn't happy about it. Wont happen again and he knows it. Husbands listen to your wives. We know best. * Jerk pork is still excellent. * Curry goat was good before but hubby said they outdid themselves with this batch and he wished he'd ordered a larger size. * The cabbage by far is my favorite of all the Jamaican restaurants in ATL. Some of y'all are saying who reviews cabbage. I do because I love good flavorful steamed cabbage. At the end of the day, I still Boston Jerk so Go. * Wasn't slow as molasses this time, but I was lucky enough to catch them during a window with light traffic.

Great authentic Jerk Chicken food! They have the best smoked flavor. Would be nice if they had better customer service but the food is great.

Had been seeing this place for years and wanted to stop by, I should have kept driving. Ordered stewed chicken and it was almost like a mix between bbq sauce and teriyaki. Wasn't good at all and the cabbage was bland and even bad. Could have looked over the piss poor attitude if the food was good. Should have left when I noticed none of the customers out front were Islanders, that's a good rule of thumb. My friend got a side of Mac and cheese and just NO. Sis doesn't have to worry about my returning. Gave two stars because the rice wasn't over cooked/dry at least. ‍ Glad I decided not to get a large.

OMG THIS PLACE IS NASTY. CAN YOU CLEAN UP PLEASE, FLIES EVERYWHERE AND WHY ARE YOU SO SLOW I am struggling with finding something good to say and really there isn't anything. Your place is a total nasty mess. why not sweep the floor, Take out the trash, and please Wipe Up the Nasty Sticky Fly encrusted tables. I threw the food away when I saw the flies fly directly from the door into your kitchen. The health department needs to visit this place immediately. what makes no sense is that they have three people working and only one if them actually takes orders, collects the money, packs the food, and delivers it at the counter. so what are the other two doing ? why does it take 15 mins to get a rice and peas and plantain side ? this place really needs to be cleaned up and to get some staff who work, cuz it's a total waste.

Great prices a d flavor. I found their $3.99 lunch options. I went for the stewed beef which is plentiful. Comes with rice, greens, and a yellow plantain Jamaican patties are right on. Has a little front porch to eat, or eat inside Pretty nice dessert options but I didn't partake Lots of parking

Looking for that real authentic Jamaican flavor in Atlanta and finally found it. Not in Atlanta Metro but definitely worth the drive out to Lithonia is the Boston Jerk Center... some of the best Jamaican food I have had since relocating to the ATL. The menu is varied, but as the name implies Jerk is the specialty. Also on the menu was Stew Peas and Cow Foot, something I have not been able to find elsewhere. My granny Burns would approve of the cook, since it's just like she cooked. Sitting outside on the veranda with the breeze blowing I could close my eyes and be back home in Harbour View in Kingston. Everything on the menu is good, my favorites are of course the stew peas and the cow foot...and everything jerked. So if you can't make the trip to the island, this is where you will find the best food in Atlanta that will have you dreaming about Yard (Jamaica). Soooo....I thought I would try this place since I heard good reviews. I look up their hours and address. It says open until 9:00pm. I arrive at 7:38pm. Door is locked. A woman is putting juice in the refrigerator as I approach the door. She just stands there looking confused like why am I at the door....I ask are you closed? She doesn't answer. I stand there like are you open , are you going to open the door....NOTHING. No response. Not even out of courtesy respond "we're closed" she just goes back into the kitchen. *sigh* I try to support my people but the lack of customer service and just common courtesy has turned me off already. Im not sure if I will be back. If I try again, and that's a BIG IF, hopefully, I'll be able to update from one star.

I like this place. The stew beef is my favorite dish and pretty much all I get from here. My only complaint is that sometimes they leave the thyme in the rice & peas. Usually I'll opt out & get white rice instead because of it.

Food is great ...but no AC and bathroom is filthy. Definitely take out spot. I'm wondering if their kitchen is nasty as well. Not my go-to spot anymore. They need a lesson in service and cleanliness.

I really hate to give this place a bad review but honestly the food was horrible. It's located it a cute stand alone building and has a patio area for people to sit if you don't want to eat outside. I wanted to order my daughter something from here but they weren't serving any seafood that day and my daughter doesn't eat meat so womp womp. I ordered the curry chicken w/ rice & peas and cabbage. It needed salt & extra curry powder so bad. I make better curry chicken than this and that's sad. My best friend ordered the curry goat which was more flavorful than the chicken but was not all that good anyway. I should have known better when I saw my fellow Ethiopian behind the counter and not a Jamaican (l tried not to judge but look what I got). Anyhoo, the lady was super nice but I will not be returning here. Ever.

The food is really good, however, the service is horrible. We had to wait 32 minutes for Jerk Chicken. The kitchen staff acted with no sense of customer satisfaction. It was horrible. I will NEVER go back here.

They do not allow you to place a to go order over the phone. So your forced to wait 30 mins. My curry chicken was a little red on the inside. I said brans and rice please. And the old lady y'all "rice and peas right in my face. Mind you she boldly talked about me as I sat there. Just a note to owner. LEAVE HER ASS IN THE IN BACK COOKING BECAUSE SHES RUDE AS FUCK.

First time eating here and I had the jerk chicken. Sunday afternoon, two member staff but the wait wasn't long to get my food to go. The chicken was cooked on the grill, which I like but it's not a traditional jerk style where the jerk is rubbed into the meat as it cooking. the chicken has little seasoning on it and they give you jerk sauce to pour on the chicken. The chicken had a nice smokey favor to it as was cooked well, the chicken was good. The rice could have been a little better but everything is was ok. I will go back and try another item on the menu, i wanted a beef patty, like most places they was out.

My second visit was to try the jerk chicken. Which was so good I almost cried. Very moist and very tender. The rice & peas on the other hand were a little dry and the plantains weren't as flavorful. Though I did like the choice of vegetables. The chicken was amazing, by far, the best jerk chicken I've ever had. You could taste the smoke and they put the sauce on the side. Very good

Food is good but the service could be better. I have visited this place a few times. Some of the staff can be very rude. I've called to place orders over the phone and not had a pleasant experience. Even after placing my order in advance... I still had to wait because the food wasn't ready when I arrived. Like I said ... The food is good but I have had better. The service alone will prevent me from returning.

It's wasn't as good as I thought they would be, they food was sloppy thrown into the plate. The servers are really rude. The cashier is very rude. I only went because I heard they was bomb asf. They ended up dropping the ball and leaving me very disappointed

don't believe the 3 1/2 star avg imo this place is 5 stars for me all day long the food is always extraordinary and INEXPENSIVE!.... the jerk chicken is more like TX style smoked chicken with a jerk flavoring low and slow smoking gives it that great flavor it differs from the typical jerk seasoned bird that is cooked at high temps on the grill..(like most places I have found here) the patties.. cant get enough...the curried chicken, the spinach one is wonderful and i had the veggie yesterday and it was perfect.. oh and did i mention that you can get lunch here for $3.99?? try to beat that. you cannot go wrong with this wonderful Jamaican jam

I have read the posts and I quietly agree with some of them. Normally the food is amazing but on yesterday my curry chicken was bland. I don't like heavily seasoned food but my food required salt. It was a water down version of curry chicken which was disappointing. The customer service was very good. I am normally the customer that looks past poor service because my attitude will have the worst server smiling before I leave. I believe that people sometimes have a moment as we all do so I choose to ignore the negativity. With that being said, I am perplexed by the mediocre curry chicken. I have ordered it before and it is always good but something went terribly wrong on yesterday. I will return because the jerk chicken is amazing but I will share with the owner about my curry experience. A second chance is warranted!

I went here tonight for the first time and got jerk chicken to go. Everyone was very nice and the chicken was perfectly cooked, but the jerk seasoning was so mild I could barely taste it.

My 1st and last time. The older lady has a nasty attitude. When someone is spending money with you especially a small business...rudeness is the last a customer should deal with. If the food is good it doesn't matter with me at. Nice customer service is the key.

the worst place to eat on earth do not eat here service is horrible owner threw a plate of food at my mother after complaining. he even walked out to her car when she left to still have an altercation with her I am right the BBB. zero stars

What can I say?! My favorite Jamaican spot. I absolutely love this place and eat here at least twice a week. I typically always get there $3.99 lunch special, which runs from 11am - 3pm. They never let me down and I can always count on a hot, delicious meal from them. Hands down on of my top 10 restaurants in the Atlanta area.
