Recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Waiting staff was very friendly and patient when explaining the menu. We had the rib eye steak and it was drenched in a delicious pesto sauce which led to a fun pop quiz with the chef to figure out the green herb. The steak (choice of medium- rare) was cooked to perfection, given the fatty-mess of rib eye, every bite was an explosion of moisture without the greasiness. We also had some starters and would recommend the beef croquette. I am not a big sea food fan but the octopus was well cooked with a tender chewiness. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Amazing service and delicious steaks — from beginning to end, we received the best experience here! The guy here is the most friendly and helpful, he provided thorough recommendations from wine selection to cut of steaks. The ribeye and tomahawk cuts were perfectly cooked and seasoned. One of us could only have steak well done and they were super accommodating — overall cooked medium rare and then they took a few slices from both to be well done before serving to the table. Our starter octopus salad and sides of chorizo rice and greens were also perfectly seasoned and paired well. There may be a line so highly recommend coming early. We came right as doors opened and were seated immediately. Would 100% come here again!!

Hands down one of the best steaks we have ever had! Food was incredible, service was top notch, and the environment was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and accommodated our group even though we didn't have a reservation and provided excellent service throughout the night which made it very memorable. Delfem and Bruno were superstars and made our night! Highly recommended to anyone who visits Porto.

Amazing food! The beef was cooked perfectly, along with the sweet potato, chorizo rice and fries made a great meal! We throughly enjoyed and would recommend! Had the prawns for starter they were amazing! Great service and lovely atmosphere!

Easily one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The best part though, is the service. 2 young gentleman (1 server and 1 cook) are running the entire place, working together to serve every guest timely, while dishing out food and making time to check in with each guest. I suggest you make a reservation because there is limited seating. This place is in high demand as they turned away at least 50+ people trying to walk in as we ate our meal! They were extremely respectful, knowledgeable and friendly. A++++++!

So this was our first evening in Porto. We had our hotel make the reservation many months ago. We were not disappointed. The place is tiny but electric. Had the owner select a wine for us to have with steak. Amazing Portuguese Red and only E50. We started with the garlic shrimp No pics because it did not last for very long. Was delicious. Right amount of garlic, butter and ginger in the sauce. Amazing. We shared a T Bome steak with sweet potatoes and fries. Wowowow. Everything was perfect. Moreover, the wine that the owner selected made all of it taste significantly better. The entire time we ate, the line to get in only grew. We were not rushed in the least. Amazing meal. Will go back on Friday evening. SOO good. Can’t wait.

Here me out, because this is coming from deep: Bota&Bira is THE place you should go for if you search for a nice steak, great (and I mean GREAT) siders, and friendly service. The waiter took his time, showed us the steaks, and we decided to go for a t-bone. The decision was exactly right, which we realized latest when we had the waiter serving us the perfectly grilled steak. The siders, from chorizo rice, crispy fries, over to the sweat potatoes, where simply sensational. What I liked especially was the concept behind it: you order two siders, and if you feel like another one or two you just go for it, as it’s all for a fair price, and therefore not too much in portion either. It’s rather a small sider, for small money, which gives you the opportunity to really try things out. If you are still hungry after your steak and siders, you might wanna go for a salted caramel cake with ice cream on top. In my opinion the perfect summary of this evening. The cherry on the top of my culinary heaven that night. Overall: outstanding experience, from food to drinks to service. But be aware: things get really busy here… so either come early, or make a reservation!

What an amazing dinner. Our first meal upon arriving in Porto and it will be hard for others to outmatch. Aged ribeye cooked in pesto and rosemary was divine. Highly recommend! Make reservations as the place is small (but very quaint).
