Botafogo Praia Shopping

Botafogo Praia was close to my hotel. I was able to get a good meal on the couple of nights I was in Botafogo. I was also able to get Havianas from the Lojas Americanas Department store and a rolling carry on luggage due to my excess luggage. Not overly big but it is quite tall with around 8 levels of various stores.

The reviews here keep complaining about stairs but this mall has ELEVATORS AND ESCALATORS! The comments about "stairs stairs stairs" for 8 floors of shopping scared me off but I went there today and was pleased to say I found this mall to be the best mall in Rio for tourists. It was cleaner, more organized and featured many American fast food and restaurants : McDonald's, Burger King, Subway, Outback and Taco Bell. It even has a theater on the 8th floor. The view from. The 8th floor btw is excellent for Sugarloaf Mountain and the adjacent lake where the boats/yachts are parked/anchored. Not sure again why everyone is complaining... It's a great mall! The other "tourist mall" is more like an outlet mall compared to this place

Decent mall. Not too many options but has some selections for clothing, perfume/cosmetics, and food. Two of my favorites about this mall is that they have a area for coworking and a view of the city at the top - so cool!

Stunning view over Sugarloaf from the Foodcort on the 8th floor! Worth a visit!

Because of the vertical nature of this mall, it might take some time to find out a particular store. Plus, there restaurants and eateries are spread around multiple floors, which can be confusing. Still, this mall has two things going for it. First, its location is very convenient and it is easily accessible from Botafogo hotels. Second, its top floor has an amazing view of the Guanabara Bay. It is breathtakingly beautiful in a clear day.

Cafe Nooma on the 8 Floor sells high quality chocolate and food. The best view in the mall.

The food in the restaurant is good and affordable, but the best perk of the place is definitely the view..

Lots of fun stores with different uses and good food court upstairs. Dengo, Mr. Cat, lots of clothing stores etc. Went to nespresso to recycle capsules and buy new ones. We also got to test try one. Customer service was super nice! Great place to shop and way to stay cold on a hot Rio day!

Lots of people complain there's too many sets of stairs to get to the top of the Botafogo mall in order to see the view but it's well worth it. It offers a gorgeous panoramic of, of course, Botafogo beach and Pao de açúcar. Going at dusk is an awesome time to see the sky changing colors. There's also plenty to do in the mall with the food court and movie theatre on the top floor. There's also a good variety of stores. Some of your more typical stores like Leader and other fancier like Uncle K. There's also a few non-chain stores that offer some more unique options for gifts and the like. It's convenient to the bus lines and not too far from the metro or other restaurants.

bf and i took a quick visit to botafogoto one morning to take some daytime shots of suarloaf since we went on the cable car (gondola) during sunset / night. upon entering the beach area i immediately noticed botafogo praia shopping because it's a really large shopping mall, and then i directed my attention to the top of the building to notice there is a sky deck with outdoor patio overlooking botafogo. i put 2 and 2 together and convinced the bf that we had to go upstairs to the sky deck and it was the best decision ever! reasons to visit: 1) the outdoor patio upstairs: the patio gave the perfect vantage point overlooking guanabara bay as well as sugarloaf, and the best thing is, it's free! 2) food court: the patio is on the same level as the mall food court, which had a variety of chain restaurants, but you have plenty of choices and during the wkday, it's packed with business employees grabbing quick lunches. trust that you won't go hungry here. there are plenty of shops and there's also a cinemark movie theater as well. a must visit if you want a good elevated view of sugarloaf.

This mall's got it all! Sorry, I couldn't resist. But they really do have pretty much everything you'd want here. Here's a short list of stores and types of stores: - McDonald's - Burger King - Starbucks - Lojas Americanas - Every cell phone company in Brazil - A tobacco kiosk (mostly cigars and pipes) - Travel agencies - Clothing stores The food court and movie theater are at the very top and have excellent views of Pão de Açúcar and the bay. There's a boteco up there too, so you can have a drink while you wait for your movie or significant other to finish shopping. Definitely one of the better malls in the area.

Too vertical, too many escalators. You get dizzy if you have to go to the movies for instance. The view ist spectacular, there are some good small restaurants upstairs and the movie is Cinemark -- it speaks for itself.
