I rarely add reviews, generally reserving comment for the exceptional or the utterly awful. Botania absolutely falls into the former category. It's outstanding. From the moment the weary traveller arrives everything is handled with such care and attention that you immediately, relax.||The rooms are stunning and well appointed, clean, bright, airy and calming. The meticulously maintained grounds are a delight to walk through. The staff are more akin to an extended family, the communication of customer preferences passing seamlessly from one to another so you seldom need to repeat yourself at any point - something usually lacking from all but the most exceptional venues.||The food is authentically Italian, but they will of course accommodate for your own tastes should you fancy a little comfort food at any point. Service at every meal time is handled with care and attention and there are many delightful options, wines and desserts to tempt you, even at breakfast. If you're a fan of delicious breakfast pastries then you will be more than happy!||The hotel has a very well appointed gym (not going near that, I'm on holiday) but if you're one of those people that like to keep trim the equipment is first class. There is a wonderful Spa, with warm pool and steam room, a large open air pool. Elsewhere on the hotel grounds you can find fantastic thermal pools and a sauna. At no point do you feel crowded as there as several options for those seeking to relax in the warming waters.||Locally there are several attractions worth a visit within walking distance; wonderful gardens and a lovely, quiet beach set in an attractive bay. If you want to venture further afield there is a shuttle service to the two nearest towns - well worth a visit - and the island itself is perfect, a real gem and doesn't suffer the usual overwhelming amounts of tourists. It feels completely genuine and not contrived to cater to holiday makers.||Excursions can be organised through the hotel and honestly, I would recommend doing this. You'll get local knowledge and expertise from people that love where they live.||I should mention that there is also a Michelin starred vegetarian restaurant on site. Although we didn't eat there, the food looks as stunning as you would imagine. Maybe next time? (Yes, there will be a next time).
