I highly recommend this little hostel, it was clean, comfortable and very friendly. The staff were helpful and it felt very safe. There were so many little touches to make it feel warm. It was peaceful and quiet at night and I slept very well. The location is also great, close to Queen's, the botanic gardens and easy access to the city. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you to Erika and the staff.

Botanical Backpackers is a small scale, cozy, and relaxed hostel. I loved that I felt safe and comfortable as a solo female traveler! Erika is the most kind, friendly, and dedicated host and I can’t imagine you would find any better accommodations if you are staying in Belfast. Highly recommend!

Cannot emphasize enough how wonderful the hostel was. Coming from a hostel with no community vibe, this hostel was so healing and a breath of fresh air. Erika is so lovely, gives the best recommendations and has created such a safe intentional place. The details - books, games, a cute stereo, ambient lightning, guitars, etc it’s like everything i’ve dreamed of in a hostel. The only thing is the one shower is either scorching hot and freezing cold, no in between. I think it can be fixed though so don’t worry! i want to come back just to stay here again. You will not regret coming.

Absolutely loved this place! The living area has a calm and welcoming atmosphere, and the dining room exudes a warm, homely charm. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and informative. The room, bed, and bathroom were all clean and well-maintained. There were plenty of thoughtful amenities, including toiletries, hair dryers, complimentary breakfast, laundry services, and free Wi-Fi. The breakfast had lots of options and was inclusive of various dietary needs, which I really appreciated. I got to chat with lots of new people, making the experience even more enjoyable. There’s also a lovely garden area where you can feed the pigeons, which adds a charming touch to the stay.

I can't speak highly enough about this hostel! I felt welcomed from the second I was greeted at the door. The girls are super friendly and helpful. The whole place is decorated in Belfast information and adorable decor that makes you feel super cozy and comfortable. The kitchen and lounge/living room space are fantastic. Being so close to the botanical gardens was fantastic and I definitely recommend going. Not too bad of a walk into town, 15-30 mins walking depending on where you're going. I felt safe the whole time. But bus stops, Uber, and taxis exist too. I was supposed to stay for three nights when an emergency cut my stay short so I had to leave. They refunded me for the two nights I couldn't stay which wasn't necessary but so so so kind and nice of them. There were two toilets and two showers. Four rooms. Female only which was amazing. They provided a locker and the key. The beds were fine for a hostel. The pillows are extremely thin but stacked together they were okay. Free breakfast with gluten free options. I only had time to grab a banana and some oranges but it looked really great! Muffins, bagels, bread, cereals, fruit. If you book direct you get a cheaper rate and a free towel rental! Quiet time after 9pm which was oh so nice as I definitely don't do party hostels.

I was a big fan of the hostel, I stayed for 3 nights and sadly fell ill on the second night where I was very kindly moved to my own room which was extremely helpful and allowed me to feel much much better! The hostel was very clean, the beds were comfy and Im very grateful for Erikas help.

This is my first Google review because, honestly, I usually don’t bother, BUT there is just no way I could stop talking about how W O N D E R F U L this place is 🤯🥰 Dear future guests, you don’t know how lucky you are to discover this spot for the 1st time. Staying at Botanical Backpackers Belfast was like stumbling upon a hidden treasure after weeks of noisy, impersonal hostels! From the moment I walked through the door, I was struck by how warm and inviting the atmosphere was. Truth be told, it’s more like stepping into someone’s home than a hostel ♥️ The vibe is calm, cosy, and wonderfully community-focused. The kind of place where connecting with travellers feels completely safe and natural ✨️ I found myself sharing stories with people from all corners of the world around the breakfast table. It was like spending time with old friends rather than strangers and that’s such a rare and beautiful thing to find on the road. The owner, Erika, is truly the heart and soul of Botanical Backpackers. Her kindness and passion for creating a welcoming space are evident in every little details. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt at home, offering local tips and just being an absolutely lovely human to chat with. The location is ideal for getting a true taste of Belfast life, and the hostel itself is full of charm and character. It’s authentic, comfortable, and the kind of place you’re sad to leave but already dreaming of coming back to (I WILL) If you’re looking for more than just a bed for the night, THIS IS IT. Botanical Backpackers Belfast is a magical place that leaves you with beautiful memories and potential new friends 😁 Thank you Erika, for the hot chocolate, mulled wine, and the Christmas movie night, and for creating such a wonderful haven. I can’t wait to return in the summer!
