Jardín Botánico de Asunción

Visited the botanical gardens and zoo today. I've read a lot of negative reviews, but I found the place well worth the admission price. Very interesting exhibits and the grounds are nice for hiking or jogging or biking. The animals didn't seem abused or neglected, or injured like some comments noted. The natural history museum is interesting... there are some awesome specimens and displays of artifacts.

The price is very cheap. I did see a few animals I wouldn't see in Canada. The pathways are rough and the way finding direction signs are almost non existent. It's worth visiting for sure. Some of the monkeys run wild.

Prepare to be reminded about your health! (Look at pictures attached). Awesome park, recommended. Very well maintained.

Nice park close by the city to relax. Plenty of benches available and a free museum of natural history it has lots of exposed animals and an air conditioning! Which is great for the hot summer days

Somewhat dated, but it's obvious that all funds go towards the animals not the facilities. Amazing amount of tigers and puma, these animals are clearly loved and in excellent condition. As I said the place is dated and a bit over grown, but the animals are well looked after.

A very nice park and possibility to see native and foreign animals in the middle of the city. It is a very nice destination, not only for children. One important recommendation I can give. Take with you means against mosquitoes or buy is directly at the cash desk. Without mosquito repellent, the fun is very limited.

They don't accept card... only cash... I felt discriminated because my means of payment was not accepted. Animals before the entrance looked hungry... they were eating dry leaves and sticks. I only pray the people there ake care of them. I did not get to go in. Honestly not sure about this place. Not sure what I would have seen inside.

It is a good place if you're looking to spend some time with nature. It is pretty spacious and relaxing.
