Definitely the best free botanical garden I’ve seen, and also one of the best ones in general. It is truly a hidden gem, which is also very close to the city centre. The variety you find at the Zurich botanical garden is astonishing, especially thanks to the three domes that let you walk through three wildly different environments in a matter of minutes. It’s also a nice walk in the park, even if you’re not into the whole botanical side (although it’s really worth taking an interest in). Only downside is that all the information is written in German .

This Garden is the place to wonder nature’s creation. No entry ticket needed and open throughout the day. Very nice place to feel closer to nature. Very good place to jog . There is amazing cafeteria from the university. You have also the chance to buy some exotic plants or chilies that are grown in the garden

Extremely recommended! It's very nice, with many different sections. There are many information signs (in German only though), and also some chairs around if you want to spend some time there in the park. Very nice for a colorful walk, and also for families :)

Really wonderful garden overall, the amount of nature and plants on the outside is already huge, but the real magic happens inside the greenhouses. It really recreates climate and flora of its 3 places, with differences on the humidity, wind, temperature.
We have the impression of being on rainforest or dry Africa climate, depends on the greenhouse we’re in.

We visited these gardens on our last day in Zurich and it's a great place to spend a few hours.
You can visit the 3 domes, spend time sitting on a bench or head to the cafe.

3 domes, greenhouses, and some other small areas to walk around. Cafe smelt good. Very interesting and worth a visit if you are nearby. Fair bit of a walk from central town.

Fantastic autumn scenery and of course the tropical globe as a highlight. We visited during the apple & harvest market, which was a lovely experience.

Beautiful garden and three greenhouses. It is incredible, but free entry.
Nice to walk through and enjoy flowers, trees and all plants there.
There’s a cafeteria, so you can take a break during your walk.
You could also take some sandwiches and have picnic in the garden.
I also strongly recommend for family. Kids can learn a lot in „Erlebnisgarten“.
It’s a fun to visit and stroll here and always can learn something new.

Yelp
This was a wonderful way to enjoy the afternoon in Zurich.
This is Botanical Gardens at the University in Zurich.
It was a huge garden with beautiful flowers and a vegetable garden with local and exotic produce.
After walking around, there is a lovely cafe at the top of the garden.
They had pastries, fruit cups and light meals.
The view from the top was breathtaking!
It over looked the city and the mountains!

Yelp
This free garden is a great value for what you receive! You'll see hundreds of plants both native and foreign. There are rooms serving as biomes like a desert area, a humid jungle, and a lowlands area. There are multiple restrooms and a cafetería available if you get hungry. You could easily spend an hour strolling or half a day learning in the gardens. Even though it's a free garden, I'd happily pay an admission price for entry.

Yelp
Wow! I definitely didn't expect seeing this place in the middle of a winter wonderland. So cool to see these plants thrive in a temperature controlled dome. So many cool types of plants to see so give this free place a visit.

Yelp
This botanical garden, part of the University of Zurich, is a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing spot. The location is convenient as it is even possible to access it by foot from downtown. It offers a lovely place to spend the day. There are some footpaths through a wooded area and also some open sloping terrain as well. There is a pond that makes a lovely resting spot and a greenhouse that looked to contain several plants that were being cultivated. On a nice weather day, this is a great place to wander and enjoy the outdoors.

Yelp
This is another great place in the city to go when you feel like escaping the city. It's so relaxing and quiet here. Wonderful places to sit, in the sun or in the shade.
Come here to practice your photography skills, catch up on your reading, or have a picnic with your partner.
Also good for young children who like to explore and see new things. Make sure to take them to the lilly pads to search for frogs.
Small cafeteria onsite, perfect for a little lunch or afternoon snack. The garden is part of Zurich university, so there's also a large library on site.

Yelp
Anytime I travel, I think it's a nice break from the busy city views to check out what the botanical gardens has to offer. Zurich's botanical garden is really easy to get to and gives you a peaceful place to sit and relax. The greenhouse domes are also really interesting with each dome being a different climate. I went on a Friday afternoon and the place wasn't busy at all. Also free entry!!
