We went there on a Jet2.com city break. On these breaks you make your own way to your hotel from the airport. After a great deal of research we opted to purchase a 90 mins PID ticket (PID being the Prague transport system, buses, trams, metro). (around £1.40). As over 65’s we were allowed completely free transport, but you had to have a valid PID card, so we opted for the 60-65 yrs fare. A 24 hrs fare costs more. No one ever challenged us to see our tickets despite us spending lots of time on the different modes of transport.|So, leaving the airport, buying a ticket from a machine there, validating the ticket when the bus was due, (lots of validation machines by the bus stops) and getting on the 100 service to the interchange at Zlicin and going underground on the metro, direct to Florenc on the orange line (the only one there).|On leaving the station, hey ho, opposite the entrance Botanique Hotel, just across the tram lines and road (about 50 mins travelling). Never ever found a hotel so quickly on one of these breaks.|What an amazing place. A large hotel, never heard a noise in there, lovely beds, great room (and at breakfast the place was ‘heaving’). All the staff were very helpful, as a matter of fact, everyone we met in Prague was very pleasant.|Breakfast, wow, amazing lots of bacon, eggs sausage, beans tomatoes and choice of many veg options and bakery, fruit items, just one slight niggle, no Heinz brown sauce: Heinz ketchup, chilli sauce, barbecue sauce - yes.|Well impressed by the hotel, its location, trams outside every two mins or so, and buses. Many places within walking distance, all flat.|Evening meal - it says on the menu, ‘we hope you are hungry’ quite correct, lots of food, reasonably priced.|We would go again without hesitation. We were sad to leave.
