An absolute must if you are the slightest keen on the world of plants, trees, shrubs and the lot! Amazing place to just walk around in, chill on a bench, explore all the interesting greenery and learn from informative signs along the way. Playground for kids, shop and cafe. A big greenhouse to enjoy too (closed until late 2026 for restauration). The garden is within walking distance from just about everywhere in Lund as situated close to centre.

A beautiful place with a nice array of colourful and diverse flowers. Known to be the biggest botanical garden in Sweden and one of the biggest in northern Europe. What adds a lot to the experience is the small hilltop which offers a great and wide view over this part of Göteborg. It is the perfect place to enjoy a nice summer walk in the pleasant warm (but not hot) nordic summer. Once done with the botanical garden, you can progress for a small walk in the nearby protected national forest. The entrance works on a honour basis, so generally if you don't have any money, you can enter for free, but there is the voluntary option of paying 30kr for entry or donating money via online money transfer methods.

I expected more flowers so I got a bit disappointed but it is a nice garden overall.

A very beautiful garden with a huge variety of plants and such as well as big neat lawns perfect for picnics or a bench if you’d prefer that. Right now it’s under construction but the new green house is no doubt going to be great!

well-maintained and rich in species. I was more than happy to pay the voluntary entrance fee

Yelp
Time stands still in this gorgeous paradise. Lovingly cared for by Lund University students, the tranquil Botaniska Trädgården is heavenly. I visited 3 times during my stay in Lund just to make sure I saw all there was to see. I'm really glad I took so much time out to do so, especially given the greenhouse (Växthus) is open limited hours during the week. The Lund Botanical Gardens are FREE to the public too, which really can't be beat. A nearly straight shot east from the Cathedral, it's not to be missed if you're visiting the medieval city of Lund. My dear friend, who graciously offered me room and board during my stay in Sweden, attended Lund University, and shared with me that the greenhouse located at the heart of the gardens is home to tiny ground-dwelling king quail (they reminded me of itty bitty kiwis, see my pictures!), the smallest landfowl in the world, that help with pest control. If I hadn't known about this, I wouldn't have waited patiently and quietly in a serene corner of the Växthus for the little cuties to emerge and begin their important work in the greenhouses. There is so much to see inside the greenhouses, beyond adorable useful birdies! I saw plant fossils! And exotic Amazon lily pads! Australian trees! So many beautiful plants I may never ever see again in my lifetime! So, I definitely recommend a visit to the greenhouses, but also a determined stroll among the grounds. Take your time! One visitor I noticed had brought her cat with her in a discrete basket. (Again, proof is in my photos!) That's my kind of woman. I was especially pleased to see so many tulips in bloom. I know, so basic. Hours upon hours can be spent here, and spend them I did. There is a small cafe and restrooms located in the same area as the greenhouses, in case you are in need. Be aware that the gardens are a solid amount of walking for your day, but for me the time passed without much notice at all. With all the incredible sights to see in Lund, this was one of the best parts of my trip! It's not to be passed up if you're in the area. And after all, in comparison to my visit to Copenhagen's botanical gardens on the same trip, you can't beat free!

Yelp
The Botanical Garden is *not* a zoo--not sure why it's classified as such. It's a botanical garden, as its name implies. The outdoor gardens are okay. The biggest draw here is the glasshouse area and the nearby pond. The pond is filled with flowering lilies, and the ducks here are friendly and plentiful. The glasshouse area is surprisingly extensive, and a few rooms have what appear to be tiny quails (I even saw babies!) walking around freely and cooing/squeaking in a delightful way. Walking through the glasshouse gave me a sense of childhood wonder in places. And it's all free! Not free, but also lovely, is the cafe. I got a salad here (included free, fresh bread) that was tasty and very affordable. I ate outside by the pond, at the tables/benches. I'd plan an hour, if not more, for the glasshouse and pond.

Yelp
Loads of plants and flowers, hidden gems to just relax on the grass all day. Nice café - an all day lazy hangout!
