I suppose the best way to explain my rating for this place is to start by saying it really depends on what you want from your visit. If you like traditional cottage / farmhouse style character then you're going to love this place. If you are looking for immaculate, or in any way modern then this is not for you. Quintessential Cornish farmhouse old stone buildings that have been here for hundreds of years and will be for hundreds more. You can really get a sense of what it might have been like as a working farm years ago. The breakfast was fantastic, I decided to have the granola which came beautifully presented with fresh fruit artfully arranged on top with edible flowers. If the expression 'too good to eat' ever applies then you would use it here. It came with free-flowing tea and filter coffee and chunky toast with proper butter and selection of jams or marmalade. The event that I attended was a business get away style meeting and the fact that there was absolutely no mobile reception was a big bonus in this instance. If you've ever tried to get through an all morning meeting with a group of business owners and entrepreneurs, you will know what a constant distraction phones can be. The main house sits surrounded by beautiful countryside away from other dwellings and has useful outbuildings that are used for various types of gathering including meditation and yoga etc. Personally, I loved it. I just wish I had taken some pictures to share with you but I think you'll find that there are plenty online that give a true picture of what this place is like. :-)
