Located close to the lobby, on an atrium style platform in the central area of the Waldorf Astoria. Surrounded by various sculptures of Colombian artist Fernando Botero. Friendly welcoming staff, we were seated immediately. Access by a few stairs as well as a ramp on the opposite side. Highlight are the atmosphere and the live music in the evening. Orders for drinks and food were taken quickly and served soon afterwards. Complimentary nuts and iced water provided too. Drinks and food were good but nothing memorable. While you certainly expect to pay resort prices, drinks were somewhat reasonable but prices for the food were just crazy high. Hence -2 stars for the rating. We also received a wrong bill for our table, impacting the service quality.

We came here for a night cap after having dinner at The Shops next door. Plus, the Grand Wailea's Christmas lights were on at the front drive. If you haven't seen it, you must! ATMOSPHERE: The circular lobby bar has a high porte cochere-like covering that used to have beautiful frescos painted on the ceilings that they've sadly painted over. It sits in the middle of the open-air atrium surrounded by decorative pools, lush foliage and art work by Fernando Botero, who the bar is named after. Besides bar seating, there are also sofa lounge chairs and high tops. They have nightly entertainment but we missed it. There was a wedding reception going on which was winding down but we found seats on the patio area. Because it rained earlier, they pulled the cushions off the sofas so we were sitting on the still comfortable shells. MENU: Bar-style apps, chicken wings, burgers. SERVICE: We walked up to the bar to an unwelcoming male bartender. No smile, no greeting. When we tried to order, he told us to have a seat anywhere and a server would be with us. Poor gal seemed to be taking care of the entire bar by herself, yet she was still smiley, friendly, welcoming, and professional. You go, girl! OVERALL: Touristy, duh. Nice ambiance and not too pricey.

Google
I have to give some context to the poor rating. Because, if you are looking for one of the best hamburgers you will have in your life, then you will find it here. I am telling you, the hamburger I received was easily a top 5 in my life. It was our first night there. Long day of traveling, so we were looking forward to some good music, which was good, btw, some cool refreshing drinks, and relaxing while we planned out the rest of our trip. It started off relaxing, but it took almost 20 minutes to have someone come get our drink order. Maybe I should have drank some water before I came because I was extremely thirsty, so this did not start well. It didn't bother me at first since this was my first night of vacation, so I was a bit more patient in the beginning. They finally showed up to take our order. We were told she would get our drink orders input and then would come back to our food order. No problem, we were not in a hurry. I was looking forward to trying a few dinks while I was there anyway. She did not come back until she delivered the drinks. Which took almost another 20 minutes. I am extremely thirsty at this point. She took our food order. I guess I should have ordered another drink then because I did not think it would take almost another 20 minutes to get our food. We are just over an hour in, and we get our food. I asked for another drink and was told they would send the server over. I started eating. It was amazing. I will share a photo. I am telling you this photo does not do this burger justice. I am telling you your taste buds will be dancing to the live music playing in the background. However, I have nothing to wash the burger down with. At this point. All four of us have nothing to drink. The server finally showed up, and we asked for another drink and some water as well. Almost another 20 minutes before it showed up. Good thing I ordered water as well. At this point, I am not feeling this place even though I just had one of the best burgers ever. I am thirsty, feeling ignored, and wondering what the problem is because all the tables around us are empty. It was not an extremely busy night. So, as you will see from most of my reviews. The experience ruined everything. I will remember that burger for the rest of my life, however, I will also remember that it takes more than two hours to order two drinks, a water, two hamburgers, some onion rings and a salad for just as long. If you go here. I would say order two dinks to start, make sure they take your food order as well, or just get it to go. Because I would expect you to be there for a long, long, long time. I think I have only had one other dining experience that lasted that long. It was at a 5 or 6 course steak house, not a lounge in a hotel.

Google
One of the best lobby bars I’ve experienced. A fantastic ambience with friendly bartenders and strong drinks. Enjoy the absolutely delicious pretzels served with your drinks, and if you’re looking for something heartier the smash burger was so good we ended up coming back two more times in one week just for it

The setting of this spot definitely sets it apart- obviously the Grand Wailea is gorgeous! We went down early (around 5 PM) before everything got busy and had the best service with Laura! She anticipated our needs, was super friendly, and gave us some great recommendations of other things to do on island. After reading other reviews, I can only assume that the bar gets busier as the night goes on and it may take longer for service/ food/ drinks. However, we just ordered some sodas and a creme brûlée and both arrived in under 10 minutes (just how we liked it having a baby with us!). If you're heading in, I would recommend going early and leaving plenty of time if you plan on doing something afterwards- it's a pretty large bar/ eating area and I could tell the servers were running around, probably short staffed. That being said, we had incredible service and loved Laura!

Google
Great cocktails, friendly staff, and convenient location in center of hotel but overpriced food and limited underwhelming menu. Smashburger was good (basically bigger In N Out burger for $34) but truffle burger had way too many overburdening flavors with truffle + garlic + mushrooms + goat cheese (not in a good way) that I only ate half which was a waste for a $40 hamburger... French fries were good but needs to be ordered as an additional side as it is oddly not included in the hamburger entree. Overall $150 for 2 people. I would only recommend for the bar/cocktails and go elsewhere for dinner.

Google
Food, drinks, and vibes at Botero are all 10/10 but what really kept bringing me back was our server, Sharon. She was the absolute best - sweet, funny, accommodating, and so much more. Every interaction with her left me and my girlfriend smiling, and on our last day she even brought us a treat from her favorite bakery and showed us amazing pictures of beautiful spots on Maui. No matter what we did that day, we always came back to Botero to at least have one drink at the end of the night and see Sharon. You could see from how she interacted with her other tables that everybody felt the same way about her. Botero wouldn’t be the same without her

Google
First off: Expectations are high and they should be high. This place does not deliver on expectations. Let me explain. Service is good. Fast and friendly waitress and bar tenders. This is the good piece. Live music is really good BUT it ends way too early. Then, the music selection is meant to get you to sleep or go somewhere else. Does not create the right atmosphere. Drinks are just average. My old fashioned was half the size of other places and did not taste right. Our gin and tonic, same. No companion snacks unless you ask (you should not need to). The architecture, open ceiling with Maui stars, Botero sculptures and resort class + brand demand a significant upgrade on the rest of the experience. Oh, and ... Botero team, please refrain from serving club soda and water on plastic cups. This is not a lobby bar of a 3 star hotel. Do yourself a favor and walk to the 4 seasons or Fairmont so you see how other high end hotels deliver on high expectations.

Yelp
My wife ane I enjoyed our 2nd Honeymoon at a place we've visited over 16 years. The Botero lounge remains one of our true heaven on earth spots and the cocktails and service cemented that impression.

Yelp
Someone somewhere had mentioned an "aquarium bar" at the Grand Wailea and made it sound worth seeing. I traipsed all over the property without spotting it and finally resorted to seeing it in an online photo. But all was not lost because, in the process of looking for the aquarium bar, I found something I think I liked far better: Botero Lounge. We all know the art of Fernando Botero (well, two of those with me did not). Botero's art features lovingly rendered obese people whose shapes are all curves. I've seen his work before, in person and on greeting cards, but never before have I seen it like this. What a setting! In an open-air space in the vastness that comprises the Grand Wailea the Botero Lounge sits, filled with gorgeous oversized black sculptures of his rounded humans. If you' think you don't like the works of Botero (I was a fence-sitter) this place is likely to influence a quick change of opinion. The sculptures are so smooth and enchanting that it was difficult to look, not touch. Clad in a swimsuit and flip-flops I did nothing more at Botero Lounge than walk from one amazing sculpture to another. I did not stop for a cocktail but made a date in my head to return. This place is gorgeous, the sculptures enchanting. Stumbling upon Botero Lounge was actually one of my favorite Maui experiences to date.

Yelp
Came here for our last night at the resort because we wanted something super casual and laid back. It's a great place to just sit and people watch. The chairs are also lounge chairs so it's nice and comfy and don't have to be in your best outfit to eat here lol. Even though it's casual, the food was delicious. I got the spicy crispy sandwich and my bf got the smash burger with fries. I wouldn't recommend the fries, as they were bland and did not stand out. But the sandwiches were great and filling! We also got the zero proof drinks which were really refreshing! However, the most important part of this review is how delicious the 17 layer chocolate cake was (and yes I counted 17 layers)!!! It was so decadent and creamy and flavorful. I just wish it came with more fruit to off set all that chocolate. I still am thinking about it and can't wait to be back to eat it. The server was great and attentive to our needs. Ps- they give you almonds and pretzels to snack on which was a fun surprise

Yelp
Better late than never with this review! I've always enjoyed meeting friends at the Grand Wailea's Botero, but my last visit was next level thanks to our amazing server, Brandi. She not only served great drinks and food, but also shared the history behind the cocktails and details on how dishes were prepared--something I'd expect at fine dining, not at the bar! On top of that, she was warm, fun, and genuinely the best. If you go, ask for Brandi--she's a gem! Oh and the food, drinks and atmosphere are great too!

Yelp
Awesome location right in the middle of the atrium of the resort. Has a cool vibe to it... but that's pretty much the end of the positives. The drinks were overpriced which i guess is acceptable given the setting but they were pretty terrible which is not acceptable. I've only sent a drink back maybe 5 times in my entire life and one of them was at Botero. The random food items were pretty mediocre as to be expected. Honestly you can just sit in the area if you want to listen to the live music and eat your own food....

Daniel R.

Yelp
Just ok. Not as good as it was back in the day when they had dancing and stuff. I miss the sushi. But with Nobu downstairs it's a lounge now. Good just ok. We only went there because they had food for kids. Would recommend just walking down to cafe instead. We were in Napa tower and the food in the tower was better. Drinks were good though! Again.. even the drinks not as amazing as they use to be.

Yelp
Great service with a live band. Very serene. This is in the middle of the grand Wailea and there is limited seating so try and go early. There's no reservations. Sushi was fresh. The Wagyu burger is a must try.
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
Greek salad was good, place is available and chill. Service is nice. The music is not very loud.

Yelp
This open-air bar is right in the middle of the main lobby of the Grand Wailea. Casual, yet elevated. They have some funky food options that do not disappoint! Love the chill vibes!

Yelp
I love this place! The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. Live music was phenomenal. The cherry on top to a nice date night. I loved their sushi, it was very fresh. Great selection on wine, they even had one of my favorite reds (Duckhorn). If i were to go back, I would get the crunchy spicy tuna roll over and over again. Toro was good but I wouldn't get this one again just because I don't think the price matched the taste. This is the perfect date night to the end of a full day in the sun :)

Yelp
We stayed at the grand Wailea so we came here for a drink and the ambiance is great ; live music and perfectly decorated but the drinks were too overpriced. They were very sub par especially for $30 a cocktail. We expected a lot better for the price. Didn't eat so can't comment on the food

Avery N.

Yelp
Love this spot for sushi and drinks. We've been lucky enough to have Nadine as our server three years in a row. She is awesome. Makes great recommendations and has a wonderfully friendly and laid back demeanor. Love the beautiful atmosphere of the Grand Wailea as always. Beautiful water features, open air, and the live music is an absolute bonus as well. They seem to always have great talent here.
google avatar

Emily R.

Yelp
The service here was great. They were on top of everything as far as speed, attention to detail for allergies and friendliness. We enjoyed the music and being able to dine under the stars. Food was ok, not great. Drinks were very good. We got two sushi rolls, edamame, dessert and two drinks. My biggest complaint was how much it cost for the quality of food. I understand that resort costs are higher but typically you're getting food that matches that range. I was slightly disappointed that we spent well over 120 dollars for very meh food and not a ton of it.
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our meal here. The staff was friendly and engaging. The atmosphere is romantic and there is a beautiful view of the Pacific. The drinks were a little on the pricey side, but very well executed. They have a massive spirit selection as well. We had a few different sushi offerings and capped our meal off with the A5 wagyu. It was served sushi style. It was seared and served on rice with a delicious drizzle of sauce.

Sachi F.

Yelp
It has amazing ambiance and is very comfortable. Live music is not the greatest. Service is ok. Food is good. It's a fun place to meet up with friends and have a drink.

Yelp
Came in to have a drink and ended up leaving after waiting almost 20 minutes with no service. My husband even went to the bar and they refused to take his order but curtly told him to just sit back down and a server would come. No one came. Even though multiple different servers walked by. Terrible service. Not worth the effort to try and enjoy the nice ambiance.

K M.

Yelp
I love this place. It's one of the most amazing places to relax and have a drink. Keoni is an amazing bartender and always a make every moment memorable. Do yourself a favor and go relax here with amazing views and ambiance.

Yelp
Had an awesome time there ! Sat at the bar and Colleen gave us excellent service ! Ended up lounging at a table and Brandi was awesome too ! Great yummy drinks, beautiful sunset, and just nice and romantic overall!
google avatar

Danise O.

Yelp
We stopped here for drinks only and to listen to the live music. This is such a beautiful property, it's nice to sit and take it all in. I had a nonalcoholic Matcha refresher that was delicious. My husband had a nice glass of Cabernet. I will definitely be back to sit at the sushi bar.

Vera P.

Yelp
Horrible service and steak. Usually we come to the bar to eat sushi. Sushi is great. Wagyu and toro sushi amazing! This time we came to lounge area and ordered steak ($75) , French fries , sushi and butter fish. Waitress took our order and served food . That's literally it . She never stopped by to check on us . She never asked if we need anything . Wehad to ask for check and she didn't even notice that we haven't eaten steak and we didn't because it was burnt . This is not kind of service we expect in high end restaurant! Very disappointed. Servers need serious training !
google avatar

Savannah V.

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks! Had the despacito and pineapple old fashion to drink, the cucumber sunomono and rainbow roll to start, the botero burger and an order of fries, and for dessert the green tea crème brûlée. Everything was amazing. The sushi and the crème brûlée were the stars of the show. Kylie was our sever and she was wonderful! Very kind with good recommendations. Will be back for sure.
google avatar

Kate G.

Yelp
Like a little bit of Las Vegas in Maui. Interesting outdoor setting but surrounded by tall white walls of hotel rooms with just so adornments. The bar roof structure designed like a Cheesecake Factory take on Japanese Shinto gates. Amazing service, most dishes were great but the sashimi was terrible. Like it had freezer burn. Best thing about it was the bronze sculptures the place is named for. The guitar player was soulful and talented too. He was just doing covers, but he had enough presence that I wondered what is own songs were like. I'd go back again just to listen to him, and I'd order everything again . . except the sashimi.
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
The setting is beautiful. It's an open air lobby in the center foyer. There's an ocean view depending on where you are sitting. There's live music and we went for sushi at 6 pm. No reservations required. The sushi is prepared by chefs at the sushi bar. Sushi was very good but servings are really small and very EXPENSIVE. The rainbow roll was to DIE for! Our bill for 4 was over $ 450US with no drinks and we left feeling s a bit hungry. I had better sushi for 1/5 of the price. So come here to enjoy the ambiance , have a drink and some sushi but be ready to shed your money. I would go back because the lounge is so pretty and relaxing.
google avatar

Lee B.

Yelp
Inside the Grand Wailea, this is an airy bar that serves tapas surrounded by beautiful sculptures. Great service and live music. My only complaint is it's ridiculously overpriced for the amount you get. While the miso cod lettuce wrap was delicious, at $14 you only get one with a couple small pieces of fish on a tiny piece of lettuce. Spent over $70 for a soda, 2 lettuce wraps and a sushi roll.
google avatar

Ron K.

Yelp
Some of the worst sushi I've ever had. Overpriced, poor quality, slow service. Ridiculously uncomfortable low to the ground seating.
google avatar

Netty H.

Yelp
My husband and I spent our 20 year anniversary here. We sat at the sushi bar and chef Moony Mun prepared our sushi rolls and they have been the best we've ever had. We ordered one after the next because they were so delicious. The crunchy spicy tuna roll, thin cut was spectacular!!! He's amazing and made our special evening the best!!!

Yelp
If you are staying in the Grand Wailea, this is a nice place to come and unwind or get a light snack before dinner. Botero is located on the same level as the lobby. You can see it when you come in from the main entrance. It took a while for the waiter to greet us but we were on vacation so we had time. We chose to sit on the couches instead of the bar since we were a big group. The prices for the food and drinks are high and they don't have much selection for happy hour. They are kid friendly; you can have them put their drink in a plastic cup instead of the glass. All the drinks on the menu can also be made without alcohol upon request. I came when the sushi bar was open and I enjoyed the seared salmon roll. If you find a table closer to the stairs, you can catch a little bit of the sunset.
google avatar

Eric F.

Yelp
Solid bar right in the middle of the Grand Wailea lobby - comfortable and very open aired. Service was quite good and very friendly throughout our stay. That said, the happy hour deals here were disappointingly limited. Cocktail specials included just two vodka-based concoctions, no Mai Tais and the like. On the upside, my wife did say that the Lava Flow here was the best she's ever had and I would totally concur. If you're more interested in beer & wine, great reds were available at $10/glass and draft beers at $5/glass. No HH food specials.

Macarena A.

Yelp
Drinks were good but service was extremely slow. Waitress never came so we went up to the bar to place our order and then we were told someone would come to our table to take our order. She showed up right away after we came back to our table but with a very crappy attitude.
google avatar

Barry B.

Yelp
We visited a otero last night for Sushi and we were very pleased. Two dishes really stood out. The Tako with octopus and another Tuna dish which were excellent. When you add the open air restaurant and the very courteous staff with excellent fresh fish nothing more could be expected

Suraj P.

Yelp
This place Looks beautiful in the middle of the resort with the music in the background. It was not that busy when we get there and we ordered shrimp chips, a burger, and some rolls but took a little while to get our food. The burger was fresh and tasted authentic to me but the rolls with the tortilla were not something I was thinking of. The service was great.

Keoki K.

Yelp
Just a bit pricey but the food and service was great and they brought out a free dessert for my sons Birthday.

Hannah B.

Yelp
Had a wonderful end of the evening drink here with my family. They have live music with an beautiful and relaxing ambiance. Jen was an amazing server that made us feel welcomed and kindly shared information about the island. Thank you Grand Wailea!
google avatar

Meg T.

Yelp
This is more the almost strictly bar area of the hotel. It had live music both nights - quite good in fact - that we stopped in, and they served us olives and nuts in addition to our drinks. The service was probably the fastest on the resort because the lounge was never really busy during our stay, but was a nice area near the entrance to relax. A few people ate there, but it didn't seem to be a high traffic congregation area, despite it's central location. All in all when we wanted a drink and didn't want to deal with the pool crowd, we headed here :D

Yelp
Botero Bar was the bar in the lobby of the hotel we were staying at, The Grand Wailea. It's in a lobby but technically outdoors; halfway through my adventure at Botero I started feeling pricks of cold water on my arms and face and I wasn't sure if I was on a really strong buzz, roofied, or getting rained on. (I was getting rained on.) I chose to go to Botero on a Thursday night, which is the night they offer a not-very-well advertised cocktail tasting happy hour event. I think I was the only person that night to order it. You should do it! It was $20 for the following items: + Specialty cocktail #1 + Specialty cocktail #2 + Specialty cocktail #3 + Cheese plate + Bread basket + Souvenir mug of a fat guy in a bowler hat standing on top of a naked woman. +20% off food ordered from Botero Bar and 50% off Happy Hour pricing all evening on well drinks, house wine by the glass and domestic beers. I don't know if the waiters screwed up and didn't know that the deal is not that many items. (The way it was advertised was just free mug and drinks and discounts, I felt) but hey... On any other day at Botero, each cocktail would cost$16.50 each. The cheese plate is regularly $15. The mug is $25. It ended up being $90 worth of stuff for $20. It was more than enough so I didn't even use the all night discount. The drinks were okay, definitely strong (hence "is that rain or the buzz?") and like weird, experiential drinks designed to advertise the brand of vodka that they serve. The cheese plate and bread was excellent, including figs, with enough food for me to share with one other person for lunch the following day. The mug...well... The bar is called Botero bar because it features the artwork of a Colombian artist (not Native Hawaiian) named Fernando Botero who is known for making jet black sculptures of chunky people. So there are a bunch of chunky naked people statues lounging around the bar...and the souvenir mug is an embarrassing awkward-sexist mug of a fat man in a business suit standing on the back of a naked fat woman. I mean it could be a commentary on capitalism and the excesses of the spoilt and wealthy. Which would be interesting except it is the icon of a bar for some of the wealthiest people in the entire world... Speaking of which... While the staff was very friendly and even checked the mug stash when my first mug came out of the box chipped, I felt the clientele was kind of obnoxious. It could have just been luck, but I was seated next to a bunch of white dudes in business suits saying sexist stuff about ladies and a rich drunk woman whose husband was on Maui for a golf tournament, who was going on and on about whether or not they should buy a beach house on Maui or a ranch and restaurant in California... Later on in the night, a young man sat down next to me. He told me he was working for Apple and that he was applying for law school. He was kind of waxing grandiose about how he was going to work realllly hard to get into law school by doing volunteer programs for poor kids in a really vertical charity case way, and how the grad program I was in (social work) wasn't for him because he wanted to do something that would "change the world." He then urged me to "join us for sushi." Through talking to him, I later learned that "us" was his parents, who he was traveling with at Wailea. And that "working for Apple" meant handing out stickers for Apple as a campus promoter. Then it started to rain.

Tim B.

Yelp
What a great spot and if you like amazing sushi and higher end spirits. Keoni and Eric absolutely crushed it for us selecting our cocktails and spirits. The sushi Chef and his assistant were engaging and this intimate sushi bar allows you to speak one on one with the chef and he can customize you sushi, sashimi and rolls to make it a culinary experience you don't want to miss.

Melissa U.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this bar. When we saw that it was Botero themed, we knew we had to check it out. The bar is located in The Grand Wailea and the decor is impeccable. It's open seating which defeats the point of a hostess in my opinion but it wasn't too full. We ordered 2 cocktails, 1 beer, 1 soda, 1 mocktail, and 1 sushi plate. The cocktails took a while to come out but they were delicious. The soda never came out....when it did, they served us the leftover watery portion of an empty coke machine. The coke was nearly transparent so we sent it back. This shouldn't happen at a Waldorf Astoria hotel. The 1 sushi plate still hadn't come out at this point and we had to remind them several times. $80 to wait for 2 drinks, a beer, and a juice is ridiculous. The server and manager were so sweet but believe the Yelp reviews. The kitchen and bar is so mismanaged. It ruined the experience.

Yelp
Understaffed, overpriced, smelly sushi with 0 customer service! Basic $1 sushi that you get at a all you can eat sushi places. Takes forever to get the food.. completely disappointing! Go somewhere else!

Yelp
We visited Botero Bar at the Grand Wailea when we stayed there for our Honeymoon last June. This bar is OK. Setting- The setting is great. It is in the lobby of the Grand Wailea, which is amazing. It is all open air, and very grand. It reminded me of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. They have comfortable chairs and tables, or you can sit at the bar. Service- The service was pretty good. It was about average- not too fast, but not slow. The drinks- The drinks are great! Try the mango mojito. We never ate food here, but the cocktails were wonderful. The music- This was the worst part of this bar. It was advertised as traditional Hawaiian music. Instead, it was just covers of pop songs. We wanted some more traditional music during happy hour in Hawaii. I understand that music later in the day, but for the whole night it wasn't pleasant. Overall- I would choose the Four Seasons bar next door over this one. The prices are a little steeper, but the service is better, they have traditional Hawaiian music, a hula dancer, and better food. This was really our ONLY disappointment of the Grand Wailea.

Yelp
My family and I decided to go to this bar to grab some late night snacks because we didn't want to drive anywhere. I get that it's late night but the food took about an hour wait for us to get and it was not good whatsoever. We got the calamari and the baked wings. The calamari was not salted, the portion wasn't even worth the money and it didn't look cooked, for the hour wait you would think that it would be freshly made. The food wasn't AT LEAST warm. My family said "it looks like frozen calamari was microwaved for 30 seconds". To top it off the ranch sauce was given to us in a coffee cup.... extremely disappointed with this experience.

Yelp
Botero Bar... where the bartenders make you feel welcome, wanted, and "at home!" In open air, surrounded by magnificent sculptures by Fernand Botero, this lovely lounge and bar is where we have met lifelong friends, introduced to us by Mike, Mich and Keoni and their very professional and sweet servers. The food is very good, the drinks are solid, and these gracious bartenders are part of why we prefer Grand Wailea to Four Seasons and other resorts nearby.

Yelp
Kills me to write this but OH my GOD. Service is horrible! We were so super friendly- tipped 30% plus and were ignored the whole time. We stopped by often before or after dinner during the 10 days we stayed here. The ambience is fantastic. The people are cool (everyone is on their honeymoon, renewing their vows or celebrating something). It's literally the happiest place on earth and the bartenders are slow and annoyed and only care if they know you. Save for Claire- she was fantastic! Seriously she could not of been nicer. 1 out of 5 is not bad.

Yelp
The Botero Bar in the midst of the Grand Wailea could be elegant in its own right, after all it is in one the nicest properties around. However the LED lighted center showpiece and the tropical fruit drinks make you quickly realize that you are in an area that caters to the tourists and a pina colada or a lava flow might be more in order. With that in mind, the menu is that: Sweet drinks mixed up with rum or a fruit juice mixed with vodka whose name ends in "tini." A lot of "tini" in fact. Yet, despite all of this, its alcohol selection is respectable with some quality liqueurs and bartenders that can make up a drink more to your liking. In other words: If you like stiff cocktails, order off the menu. It's ambiance is what immediately draws you in. You're in the middle of one of the grandest properties on the Wailea coast and the frescoes adorning its ceiling makes you almost feel as if you're in an Italian piazza...but you aren't, you're in Wailea silly! Let's be honest, when you're on vacation, you really don't want to do much. You're generally going to be lazy and take the fastest approach to achieve the desired outcome. In this instance, the objective was to have alcohol. Oh..and don't mind the bill when you have to pay for that $17 cocktail....remember, you're on vacation!

Yelp
Exceptional service. First, the server was all by herself. Working the entire floor serving people left and right with no complaints and just drive to get the people their food and drinks. Second, a guy from the kitchen came to serve our wings - brought two of the plates to our table, then my family requests it - without a fuss, he brings them both back downstairs to put it in the doggy bag. Drinks were great (I had a diet. My family had alcoholic beverages.) My family had the calamari, some sushi, and they were delicious.

Yelp
Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful! A lot of locals come here for drinks, not just for the hotel guests! They have $5 Mai Tais from 5:30-6:30 everyday and it's worth it since they usually charge $12. It has an amazing view of the ocean and a huge circular bar that has a painted dome above it. They also have plush couches and giant statues of fat ladies smoking all surrounded by clear blue fountains. It's serene and airy with exceptionally nice bartenders. It's also nice to escape the millions of screaming kids everywhere else(seriously they are a drag. I had a 5 year old tell on me for smoking. Is it wrong to punch a 5 year old?) Great stiff drinks!

Yelp
Expensive. No shit. Nice bartenders, beautiful looking place, good drinks, and saw some Vanilla Ice-lookin' tool make a jackass out of himself trying to hit on one of the waitresses.

Yelp
The boyfriend and I knew that we were probably in for a few sugary tropical drinks at this bar, but the menu managed to fall below our already-low expectations, seemingly curated meticulously by a 17-year-old girl who had just been introduced to coconut rum and needs to pair it with generous amounts of kool-aid, because "ew alcohol gross, amirite?" The cocktail menu lacked diversity, so when the bartender approached, we asked what he specialized in and if he could make us anything, *anything* that was outside of the flavor profile of a Ring Pop. He stared blankly, sputtered, and ended up recommending what he thought was the least sweet concoction available, the Wailea Splash. After a sip, we had to ask for soda water on the side to cut down the sweetness of the drinks. Strange juxtaposition to sit in the heart of a lavishly appointed resort with works by Botero littered about, and be poured drinks by a bartender who doesn't understand (or care about) his own craft. We quickly cashed out and moseyed on over to a place that makes cocktails for grown adults. Do yourself a favor if you need a drink and go next door to the Four Seasons, where you can say words like "Aperol" and "St. Germain" and not get a completely blank stare from the bartender. The bar at Monkeypod, nearby, will also do in a pinch as well.
