Yelp
I have been here before, a few times, always decent service and good food.
This time a came with my family that visited from Houston (their first time trying this Restaurant) to celebrate my birthday, I made a reservation to make sure we will get a table.
I was extremely excited to eat here because I really like their steamed buns.
Our server Emily in the beginning was very nice and attentive, she even got me a courtesy appetizer for my birthday! Which was delicious by the way )the eggplant noodles, a must!)
Well, we all get situated and placed an order for drinks and then for food, of course some appetizers to start our evening.
Appetizers were good and we got them in a good time, we didn't wait too long, neither for the drinks.
The problem started when we were getting our dinner plates, Emily forgot to order part of my niece's dinner (the steamed buns) well she went back and placed the order after we all got our food.
My sister got the short rib noodles, but oh gosh, it's like they threw a whole bucket of salt in that dish! It was the short ribs that were so salty, you couldn't swallow a spoon of that, honestly it was awful.
My sister is diabetic so she can't eat salty foodC but in reality, no one could've eaten that plate, so she talks to Emily and she explains to my sister that even if she exchanges the plate, since is the same sauce for the short ribs, it was gonna be as salty as the first plate, so my sister decides to try my plate, the pork fried rice.
While everyone is eating and my sister is waiting for her food, my other niece gets her drink , same as her sister, but hers is much better in flavor and presentation, so my other niece (who is already dissatisfied because Emily forgot her steamed buns) asks Emily if she can bring the garnish her drink was missing (mint leaves), because she wanted to take a cute pic with her drink and tag the restaurant, my niece didn't ask for a new drink, even that wasn't half as good as hers sister drink.
When Emily came back (by this time you can tell she has an attitude) gives the mint leaves to my niece and tells her: "just so you know, these mint leaves are not gonna change the flavor of your drink "
My niece didn't expect that kind of comment and attitude, she just said "I wanted to take a picture " and got embarrassed.
All these happens and my sister has not gotten her food, we all are done eating, she was very upset at this time. Finally Emily brings her food (took forever, obviously she didn't put a rush in the order), at this point my sister is not hungry anymore and she doesn't eat. My niece is upset at Emily's unnecessary comment and the vibe of my birthday dinner is not the same anymore.
I was very disappointed at the fact that our server's Emily bad service and bad attitude kinda ruined my birthday celebration.
At time of payment you can see how annoyed Emily is, and she did something really rude, she was standing behind each one of us at the moment we were paying and staring at the machine (is the machine they hand you and you pay directly) she was staring at the machine to see how much gratuity she was gonna get, it was very uncomfortable, especially after her bad service and attitude.
I gave her 10% , when I always do 20-25%c because honestly she didn't earned more than that, and I told her, that in the beginning I was very happy with her service but that her unnecessary and rude comment to my niece and her lack of good service with my sisters food was very disappointing. She said that, the only reason she said that to my niece was because "she didn't want my niece to think the garnish will change the flavor" , I told her, "she is an adult, I think she knows that". Then she said they got really busy and that was why my sisters food took forever.
Well, excuses don't fix a bad experience.
All the rest of the food was good, I would say that, too bad the service was bad.
These is what we ordered....
