Botlierskop Tented Lodge

What a fantastic place this is. When you think of a luxury safari this place can fit the picture in every way. We absolutely loved our time there. Wonderful people with great knowledge and passion in their jobs! As for the safari specific, we had Salis as our guide and one can tell from the first minute that you've hit the jackpot with him. The food menu could a bit more refined with some more local flavours but the wine list compensates adequately for this. Highly recommended. For at least a couple or days. So much to do there.

One of the most beautiful lodges in South Africa that we know. This was already our third stay there. The “rooms” are huge and extremely luxurious. A wonderful bathroom with an outdoor shower, a kitchenette, a very large and comfortable bed, and a small terrace overlooking a river where we were able to watch elephants bathing. The food was outstanding. We had booked full board and could freely choose from the menu. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The price also included two guided game drives in small groups, and we were able to see many animals in a lush, green, and truly impressive landscape. We would come back more often and stay longer if we could afford the rather high prices – but the value for money is definitely excellent.

We had an outstanding safari experience thanks to Jandré. His knowledge of the reserve and the animals was exceptional, and he had an impressive ability to find wildlife while also making the drive feel relaxed and enjoyable. He explained animal behaviour clearly, answered every question in detail, and made sure everyone felt included and comfortable throughout the safari. What really set Jandré apart was his genuine passion for conservation and his professionalism — you could tell he cared deeply about both the animals and the guests. He handled the vehicle confidently, positioned us perfectly for sightings and photos, and made the entire experience feel safe, engaging, and memorable.

Awesome unique safari experience guided by truly knowledgeable experts driving you around well knowing the huge area and each animal. Although we did not stay over night, we truly enjoyed the morning tour (which is highly recommended over the afternoon tour, in order to see more animals). We got lucky to spot all the big 5, actually the big 8 animals and more. Lunch was fantastic too and the garden next to the lodge is awesome! One of the best game reserve I have aver seen, well recommended and we will definitely come back! Congrats

I had such an unforgettable experience at this safari! The place is huge, beautiful, and full of amazing wildlife. We got to see a rhino, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, and even a lioness — it felt like a real-life documentary! The team was super friendly, and we got to relax in the lounge with drinks before the game drive, which made the whole experience even better. Honestly, it was one of the highlights of my trip. Totally recommend it!

Unforgettable Safari Experience at Botlierskop We had an absolutely amazing stay at the beautiful tented lodge in Botlierskop. The accommodation itself was a highlight – surrounded by nature, cozy, stylish, and surprisingly luxurious. We especially loved the private jacuzzi and the outdoor shower with a stunning view – such a unique and memorable experience. A special thank you goes to Mandela, our guide. We had four fantastic game drives with him, and each one was impressive in its own way. Mandela was not only extremely knowledgeable but also great fun, warm, and genuinely passionate about the wildlife. The sightings were unforgettable: lions, elephants (so impressive!), buffalo, giraffes (so elegant!), rhinos, cheetahs, zebras, impalas, and many more. Mandela always positioned us perfectly for amazing views and memorable photos. We can wholeheartedly recommend Botlierskop — and especially Mandela. An experience we will never forget.

We booked the morning (day) safari here with our 4-year old and it was just amazing! Our driver called B, was a true A and we learnt a lot about the animals, plants and surrounding environment. He took our group to the recently added area, where we got up close with Cheetah and the Lion! Lunch at the restaurant was excellent as well, highly recommend this place 🦛🦏🐘🐃🦓🦒🦁🐆

We were only a day visitors and we visited for the game drive specifically. My expectations were high, but definitely not that high! It was actually the best experience from my whole vacation. We saw so many animals and it was thanks to our amazing ranger Anja. Thank you so much for this amazing experience, Anja, we couldn’t get anyone better. We went the second day also and i gotta admit that these two days were so lovely and wonderful, thank you so much for your time, Anja! Definitely recommend, worth the visit!
