"Ristorante al Pappagallo, opened in 1919, closed after a century in September 2022. It reopened soon after as Bottega Pappagallo, a fast-casual bottega focusing on high-quality, traditional, fresh pasta. Dishes are sold to go, so you can conveniently enjoy gold-standard tortellini anywhere, or to eat in, when items are dressed in broth or an umami-rich Parmigiano sauce. The trusted sfogline (pasta masters) fold every tortellino in an open kitchen before chef Federico Gasbarro plates them up." - Coral Sisk
We had a bad experience. There were two waitresses. The first one (youngest) was friendly and she kindly arranged us a table. The second one (oldest) was very rude. She didn't speak English and she spoke to us in very bad manners, creating a bad atmosphere and experience. It felt like she didn't want to attend non italian people because with the italian speakers was very friendly. About the food, the lasagna and the pasta alla bolognese was very good and flavorful but the tortellini al brodo was absolutely tasteless, not recommended.

Excellent, authentic Bologna style pasta dishes. We tried the tagliatelle al friggione (onion sauce) which was amazing. The tortellini on crema di parmigiano was in the most wonderful cheese sauce. Limited seating, so make a reservation. They also offer take out. Highly recommend.

Cute small restaurant with a homey vibe and authentic bolognese options on the menu. Menu is in Italian so you can either get a server who is patient enough to guide and help you or someone who isn’t too bothered and you have to make your best guesses! Although this place didn’t have a lasting impression overall, do Try the lemon and ham carbonara it was something new and unique we tried and definitely worth a try.

Wow! This tiny place is the best kept secret for delicious fresh pasta and Italian food in all of Bologna! The fresh pasta here is incredible. I loved it so much I came here THREE times in 6 days! I couldn’t stay away!
The tortellini in parmigiano-reggiano or in brodo are to-die for and the balanzoni rocked my world. I didn’t see the balanzoni on too many other menus in Bologna but it was truly a must-try dish.
Everyone working here is super friendly and welcoming. You often get to see them making tortellini as you eat. This place has been open since 1918 and only has four tables. You can call in advance to make a reservation. Insider tip: they are also open for dinner Friday and Saturday night even though Eater and other websites say they are lunch only!

An honest, real and soulful approach to Bolognese cuisine - what results are the most amazing Tortellini in Brodo, better than in your wildest dreams.
You get to watch the skilled hands that made your pasta of choice.
The staff is very friendly (even if you don’t know Italian) and knows their stuff. Service was quick, the portion was good. Prices are fair as well.
Great for a quick fill up before dinner or also amazing for takeaway.

Oh my gosh, we had the best time! The food was incredible, like, traditional Italian flavors and everything. It's a really cozy place, and we had the best meal of our whole trip to Italy there. Every dish was so good, I can't even pick a favorite!

This was a good alternative to take away fresh pasta. The girl in the restaurant was very friendly, and the only reason for me to give 4 instead of 5 stars is that the portion size of an onion and tomato tagliatelle may be a little small for €12.

Tagliatelle al ragu bolognese was ok but for some reason was given without parmesan cheese. The tiramisu instead of a bottom sponge layer had some watery mess, pure disappointment. The restaurant admitted the 6 € tiramisu wasn't made today but refused a refund.
