My first day in São Paulo, and I was lucky to stumble upon this gem.
Since we arrived after the usual lunch hours, we decided to stop in for a late lunch. To our pleasant surprise, we realized the restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide. We were seated at an outdoor table in a cozy heated area. While we faced a few communication challenges at first, the staff was incredibly patient and eventually brought over an English-speaking captain to assist us — a thoughtful touch that made us feel very welcome.
We ordered two appetizers and two mains. I don’t usually enjoy eggplant, but the parmigiana — baked eggplant with cheese — was absolutely out of this world. Paired with my wine, it was perfection.
The beef tartare was another standout — beautifully presented and finely sliced, enhancing both the texture and flavor. A must-try!
Then came the highlight: the Cacio e Pepe. A deceptively simple dish of cheese and black pepper, but it takes real skill to strike the perfect balance — and they nailed it. The touch of lemon zest and candied fruit peel elevated the flavors in a way I’d never experienced before. Hands down, the best Cacio e Pepe I’ve ever had — definitely worth the calories!
The other main, the carbonara, was equally impressive. The charred bacon bits gave it a smoky aroma that infused the pasta beautifully. The balance of saltiness, cheese, and crispy bacon was spot-on. The spaghetti was perfectly al dente — not overcooked — which made all the difference.
We ended our meal the Italian way, with a classic tiramisu, which was just as satisfying.
Despite the language barrier, the service was warm, helpful, and attentive throughout. This place is definitely worth a stop when you’re in São Paulo.
