The service is on point pushing for some of the most attentive in Benicia. For a sports bar it is a 10/10! The staff are on top of their game. The potatoes balls are no joke! If you haven’t had them..try them! Maybe the best thing on the menu…but don’t count that short of anything! The grilled cheese burger is great and so are the hand cut fries with garlic! Taco Tuesday is always a hit!

Best burgers in town! Got the fried mushrooms Basket of garlic fries And the GCB - Grilled cheese burger You know you gotta follow it with an ice cold beer. Lindsie said there’s no microwaves so everything is made fresh even the thousand island sauce.

The food is decent but be prepared to wait for food if its packed and busy. Staff is always super friendly just a lot of people like this spot too. Good place to catch a game.

A Horrible Experience! Was just kicked out because a member of my party was id'd for ordering food, to go! It was very embarrassing and humiliating! Why was he even asked for ID for ordering to go food? Everyone else in the party, myself included, had ordered food and drinks with no problem. Service had been rendered already. We had all been there for over an hour, not a problem at all. Waited for a slanted pool table. Because one was down! Then this! Never gonna return for a dining experience ruined!

We stop in here every time we come through town on our way to Dixxon. The atmosphere is great. It's a friendly local little hole in the wall place that has great vibes, and the GCB (grilled cheese burger) is amazing! Drinks are good and priced pretty decently. It's worth a stop if you are in the area. They do have pool tables and a bunch of tvs all over the place.

Good local Benicia sports bar to catch a game, play billiards, or enjoy some good burgers. People are chill and friendly. Staff are polite and attentive. Check it out any time of the year.

The manager knows how to greet and treat his guest. First round on him! The drinks 🍸 food was off the chain! Nice music both live band and dj! Safe great partying atmosphere for any meet n greet! Great zydeco Music!

Excellent service and good drinks. The waitreses were very polite and attentive. Very clean and relaxing place. The best part though is the food. We had fish tacos, stuffed mushrooms, parmesan chicken wings, patty melt and garlic fries. Some of the best food I've eaten in a long time. I would recommend this place to everyone I know and don't know. I will definitely be back to experience this place again.

Maybe my worst restaurant experience in my many years of eating across the world. I waited 15 minutes at a table. No one came. I finally went up to the bar and the young female bartender came over finally and said "so what do you want quote? I said I would like a menu. She rolled her eyes and walked away. I asked her where on the list where the draft beers at this pub She said they were not listed. I said how many do you have she said four I said how many IPAs she said two. Her voice that whole time was abrupt and nasty. Maybe it was because I'm an old man with a ponytail and looking around the restaurant I saw no one black, brown, or dark. The room was blaring loud. Filled with screens of sport activities, and Fox News. The bartender asked me questions and kept asking me to repeat obviously, it was hard to hear. On one occasion she asked a question and I shook my head. She said "please answer my question . Don't just shake your head at me! " when I expressed this pleasure, she said, "I'm not serving you. get out of here!" I spoke to the manager quietly in the corner. She was very nice. She apologized to me and right after she apologized to me a man twice my size covered with tattoos came over and said "get the fuck out of here! "Stop your yelling "I asked the manager if I was yelling and she said no. I left. I could go on, but will not. If this is the type of restaurant with an atmosphere and attitude and environment you want be sure to go here. If not, follow my lead and stay away.

You cant go wrong with their $1 taco Tuesday. I have yet to try the fish tacos which I heard is a must try as well. When the place is packed service can be a little slow but the servers will let you know that they have acknowledge your presents and they will bring the menu. Busy and very lively ambiance. Always packed full of people inside.

Whenever I'm on that side of the Benicia Bridge, I always have to stop at my favorite local bar. Walking in here you just feel like you're comfy and ready just to have a really comfortable drink. This place isn't a place for your Fofo drinks. it's just a place for you to go and get a basic cocktail. It's a place where you order a pineapple and vodka or a gin and tonic, and it doesn't come out to be a cost of an arm and a leg. The beer on tap is one of my favorites! They are all good! They have a great Pilsner, hazy IPA and this other one which wasn't bad, has a hint of sweetens. The decor is your old school bar, comfortable bar seats and the old school bar itself I believe came from a cry old building. There's lots of tables all around you. The type of people that visit this bar are your regular Benicia crowd, some are great some are not. Surprisingly they actually serve food, which is wonderful and actually really really really good. It's one of the best kept Secrets of the locals and really great on price! Every day is a different special, but Tuesdays are one of my favorites since it's taco night. They're only a dollar each. We visited last time on a Sunday so we were able try out their pork a lot of people were actually ordering it! It comes in tacos or just basically pulled pork sandwich. We ordered the fried pickles which came out really salty and I had to return them, but I hope next time when I order them, they'll be spot on. The burger we ordered that we didn't get a photo of was made to perfection cooked to medium rare which we like! What sucks is that it doesn't come with a side dish, but the burger is really a huge and really satisfying. There is a pool table, darts, juke box and outside seating, parking is in the rear, great place just to enjoy yourself on the weekend!

BF's department decided to do their Christmas get together here...they were gracious enough to let us reserve the back three tables. Food was tasty, service was great. Food trickled out a little slowly, but understandable with the amount of people ordering. Prices are also very reasonable. Was pretty busy on a Friday night, we spent some time between inside/outside, but the music outside was pretty loud to hold a conversation.

Love a good hometown bar! BOF has been around since I moved to Benicia in the early 80's. Today i was craving a burger...boy did they deliver. i had the patty melt with garlic fries 10/10! Also got a quick tour of the private event slice upstairs...great for small event! (i do miss the old Roberts Chinese)

This Taco Tuesday is by far the best. And the reduced price Margaritas helps a lot. These babies are only a buck. Minimum of 2,to order. The place is full of energy and fun people. The servers are above it all. There to serve and to please.

This was my first time here and I will be coming back. The vibes were chill and they are open later compared to other bars in the area. The food was decent for being bar food and the only reason I am giving 4 stars is because they took a long time to take our orders and bring out our drinks. Staff was nice. Chill place to grab a drink, a bite , or even play some pool.

The food is amazing, the drinks are good and the staff is so very friendly. My favorite is the chopped cobb salad. Its amazing! I dream about it sometimes!!! Highly recommend.

I'm a Benicia local and this place IS THE BEST restaurant in town! They have the best patty melt I've ever had. Food is fresh, hot, and made to order so it can take some time but totally worth the wait. A local spot you can't missed out on

The service was unusually slow this visit. The bar back was taking orders and the cook had to run out food out. It did get better when the closing crew arrived. The food is usually awesome here, and everyone is super friendly! This time the fried pickles were a little soggy, but the wings were really good. My burger was cooked perfectly, and the fries were spot on! Good food, good service!

Bottom of 5th is your local watering hole and sports bar. Music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and vibe to match. There's a jukebox if you have a favorite hit for the evening. Multiple TV screens to catch a game, and two pool tables means plenty to do in addition to food and drink. There's daily specials and happy hour on weekdays. The menu is classic bar food, with burgers and fries which are satisfying and have generous portion-sizes. The food has only fallen short one time (I requested an over-easy egg and it came out fully fried). The staff is friendly and attentive, they made sure the overall experience was smooth and enjoyable. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, you'll feel welcome. Though the bright lighting might feel a bit intense for a place that's otherwise laid-back, it doesn't take away from the overall comfort.

Went to watch the 9ers game here with my brother and our girls Ordered lemon pepper wings, fried pickles and a fried chicken sandwich with fries. The folks working had to kindly escort one lady out for being a little too inebriated, sitting on top of the bar and gettin loud. Good to see how they handled it so gracefully. I'd come back.

I rated this five stars for the ambiance, food and service. This place has bee around forever! Inside there's Bay Area sports memorabilia everywhere, including some original Candlestick Park chairs. There's a couple of pool tables if you play pool. The wedge salad was really good. Bonus that it's already chopped! We split the cheese burger, added mushrooms and bacon extra. If you're a fan of garlic fries, you have to order them! Great place to hang out and enjoy some spirits and food!

Food is good. It was pretty packed on a Tuesday. I recommend ordering your food right away, cause it took a little bit of time to get it to us. Other than that, it was good. I'd come back again.

Bottom of the Fifth happened to be a short block from my room at the Holiday Inn Express. And after a long meeting in Occidental, followed by a taxing drive to Benicia, this place fit the bill, as all I wanted was a convenient basic meal and a beer. I'll give this place 4 Stars, based on friendly and efficient staff (from my seat at the bar), and a pretty darn good and well portioned "Ragin Cajun" grilled chicken sandwich (on Dutch Crunch). I was also intrigued by the large antique wood structure behind the bar. Past that, this is really not my kind of locals place, as it's too brightly lit, the ambient reverberating noise level is high, and outside of the bar, seating is limited. Besides checking out the clientele and eating/drinking, there were multiple TV screens showing various sports contests and at least well used pool table to keep folks busy. Everyone here was having a good time, so I guess to each their own. However, I chose not to linger.

Newer business for the area. Changed hands since my daughter Worked here in early 2000's as Robert's place. Has food specials. They made a complex drink very well & were friendly about it. Basic decor could use an update. Lotta locals & regulars hang here. It's off the beaten track & lacked enuf parking on Friday. The special shrimp plate was very good, not overcooked as a lotta places do. I plan to return & try the other menu items. Was a bit cool inside so sweater recommended. Go order at the bar, it's unclear if servers are coming to tables. Noisy inside so plan for it. Acoustics reverberate. I also hate Fox & gop so please limit that toxic intrusion. 400+ reviews here already? How long you been open?

Ever since the new ownership, bartenders have been super disrespectful and entitled. Each visit I've noticed a bunch of young folks who appear to be underaged being served. Moral of the story, employees seemed to be entitled on their high horses treating their long time customers with disrespect and as if they're an inconvenience... Sad to see a benicia staple going downhill due to their staff and poor management. Minors are the only folks keeping this business alive, Wont be returning.

The weekday specials are good but I mainly get my friends to come for the fish tacos! The best in the area. Even take out it's still crispy and fresh! The service is good except someday there is only one chef. But the food is worth the wait.

Bottom of the Fifth does just about everything well. I live within walking distance, so I've been many times, and never had a bad experience. I recently quit drinking, but I still keep coming back- Why? Between the food and the ambiance, it's just a lot of fun. Their weekend breakfast is top-notch, and everyone in town already knows about Taco Tuesday. Everything comes out well prepared, service is pretty strong, and the staff are friendly and courteous. Good selection of beer with well crafted mixed drinks- it's a prefect sports bar. Great place to watch the game, eat a meal and catch up with friends. Their regulars are pretty funny and quirky, lots of good sports talk going on. From my standpoint, I see a very hands-on owner who takes pride in his business and engages his clientele. Check them out!

ABC indeed needs to make a pit stop here. Take a look around, you've got a bunch of kids around in this establishment. Service has gone downhill exponentially. Zero room for comfort. Ordering a drink seems like pulling teeth from the employees. Do better Benicia!

Late night, Date night with the hubby. It was a Tuesday, 3/5, night and I had already told him about that Adult Happy Meal deal here. He thought it was as cool as I did so we headed out around 8:30 to a moderately busy scene. Loud laughter, pool games, music blaring, I actually was surprised. I brought my notebook and pen to write down our thoughts on a few things we wanted to discuss but between the people watching and the speaker ( that we discovered sat above our head) we just ordered a cocktail and chilled. Dinner: Wedge salad Fish and chips Breakfast Burger with Garlic Fries Food pretty good; atmosphere was loud but decent; Service was ok. I'm always at a loss on how to get a server's attention when I'm here. I think I should try sitting at the bar. The fish and chips is shareable.

Amazing sports bar. Good service, good food, Ice Cold Beer. Pool tables, good spacing, Has parking lot, corner of Fifth and Military Ave. (you'd think They'd have a Military Discount, huh? Well, NO. That was definitely a negative. . But, it's easy to find and food, drink, and service are top notch.

One of the best patty melts if not the best I remember having, not to mention it is a very nice sports bar.

4 stars for staff and service. 2.5 stars for food. Never been super impressed with the food at Bottom of the Fifth Sports bar. It's not even amazing for bar food standards. The burger, while thick and semi juicy didn't have a whole ton of flavor. Some of the toppings were on the side while some were on the burger. Is not served with included side. All fries or other side choices are an additional charge. The fried pickles chips were so so soggy and soft, they didn't seem fried at all. Not to mention ridiculously salty that they were inedible. The staff however, is just amazing. Will go back for drinks again but won't eat to waste money.

The food is good, along with service! Whenever I have a day off, it's one of our go to places. It could be defined as a 'dive bar', but don't let that be a turn off. Many local workers can be found after their shifts, along with some local seniors- The last visit was not quite up to par. Heard new owner and the cook left ‍

so visited on a football sunday. Me and my friends are here to eat, drink and watch football. Oddly enough they have pickleball and other off sports on the tv's when we arrive. remind them its NFL sunday and they put some games on the tv's. I have a package food gift for a friend and the super annoying manager/server advises me that outside food is not allowed. I tell him,, I'll keep it closed, and not for eating. Well he's a super asshole and demands I put it in my car. I do this,, and we have a few beers and leave. NEVER TO COME HERE AGAIN. What a moronic place. We were gonna buy wings, burgers, beers etc,, and may have come back. Not a chance now - what a dump. I saw the food that came out,, thank god I didn't pay money for that frozen re-heat grub. this place is a complete SKIP never go back. see ya! good luck.

Wednesday special Steak dinner comes with mash potatoes and steamed broccoli with carrots. Cooked perfectly. Very generous portions and delicious. Our server was attentive. Kept coming by to check on us. Nice place to get a drink with friends or have a meal. The table next to us had the hot wings and they looked delicious. Was staying at the hotel across the street. Great place to go for a meal and drink after a long day. Glad they were open late to have a decent meal after a 6 hour drive.

I absolutely love this place. My husband and I go here for date nights. The food is incredible. You always have to get the garlic Parmesan wings and possibly the potato balls. Tuesdays are dollar tacos and they're so good. They're not authentic, but they're good. The inside is sports bar or dive bar but once you get past that, it's so worth a try.

The Bottom is our go-to in Benicia, where we live. We come here at least once a week. This is not an out-of-the-freezer and into-the-microwave kind of sports bar. First of all, the fish tacos are the best anywhere around. You can get the fish fried or grilled and it costs $17 but it's worth it. The hamburger is flame grilled and I order it with a lettuce wrap plus bacon and avocado. It's a sloppy mess but I love it. The wedge salad is accurately entitled the Best Damn Wedge Salad in Town. They always chop it for you. There is a special every day. Tuesday is tacos for $1 each. Hamburger tacos with lettuce, cheese and house salsa. Yummy. Wednesday lunch is what they call the Chopped Cheese sandwich, ground beef, cheese and grilled onions. My boyfriend is obsessed with it. Other good things: turkey Cobb salad; chicken strips; fish and chips; French fries. Best of all-prices are reasonable.

Tacos!?? For $1 !!?? AND , they are soooo good!!! Although, it's not really saying much... because EVERYTHING on their menu is DELICIOUS!! Great prices, too! And then... there's the staff... everyone there is AWESOME!! This particular Taco Tuesday, I was taken great care of, by Lindsie, and Joe ! Great times! Cool environment, and music! Never a bad time out! Been coming here for over a decade, and will keep coming back, for many more.

It really is the best wedge salad it town! The sweet balsamic glaze evens out the earthy blue cheese perfectly. We had the Opening Day game special in honor of the SF giants which was delicious! The whole menu looked amazing. We have a 4 year old so we can't always come here because it's 21+ as it should be! Loved the energy. We'll be back!

Had dinner tonight, Tuesday, so very busy. Waited almost 30 minutes to get the waiter to come over. Finally did. Ordered drinks and dinner. He never came back. Had to go to the bar to get my bill. Told the bartender I was waiting to get my bill and would like to leave. Blonde girl, went off on me and kicked me out. No real idea why. Paid and left. Out waiter followed us outside to apologize and told us we weren't 86ed from the place. We come here probably 2-3 times a month. Will never return. This girl went off for no reason and told me I was no longer welcome. Worst attitude I've seen for absolutely no reason.

Bottom of the 5th again. Everytime black people come in they have a problem. People at my job stop coming here because they think they are racist. They gave me fries that were broken all the way through. The cook said I had to buy more fries. I can say I will never come back after eating here for years. Now I see what my co workers have went through. They did end up giving me a couple $$ off. But fuck the cook on 9/12/24 at 12:30

My first time here and it was a great time. Staff was super friendly. Lindsie and Calvin were super friendly and welcoming. All food and drinks were excellent. Will definitely return again.

True this is a traditional local town bar(and a good one!) , with high top tables , pool tables, TVs and music from a "jukebox" , but I come here for the food (and a whisky soda). The food is consistently good and the service is friendly. As you have seen from the previous reviews taco tuesdays are popular for good reason, meaty tacos are served up at $1/taco, but their other specials are great too! The Wednesday steak dinners (while pricier of course) is a great meal at $23 . My medium rare steak was cooked just as I asked. The Friday fried Shrimp platters is a staple for me as well. My other faves: -Potato balls -Stuffed Mushroom -Fish n chips -Burgers Sure come here for bar drinks but enjoy a great meal too!

Had a really fun lunch at Bottom of the Fifth today. Veronica was our friendly server/bartender and she was fun, fast, and friendly. The fries were amazing as well as the fried pickles. Pro tip: get the potato balls, they are balls of crispy, golden deliciousness!! I had a New York steak sandwich that was cooked medium rare and very delicious. There is a ton of Bay Area sports memorabilia decorating the clean, well lit space. Will definitely be going back for their happy hour specials.

We've been on the fence about this place in the past 4-5 years, but we gave them a solid several chances. We don't like the ambiance inside, so we get takeout. Some of the food is decent; we have enjoyed the fish tacos and chicken Cesar wrap. Some of the other dishes are mediocre that we've tried. What we also don't like is how rude the bartender/cashier for takeout orders is. He's unfriendly and acts like you're disturbing him when you pick up your food and pay. A few other things that have bothered us: lack of adherence to masking rules during early Covid (I'm not talking about now, but back in 2020), and playing the Republican National Convention on one of their bar TVs recently (saw when I went to pick up my order). Hmmm. Recently the cashier/bartender answered the phone in a grumpy voice and then I asked if I could place a takeout order, he said "not right now" and hung up on me ( it was 4:15pm, so a normal meal time). See ya, Bottom of the 5th. I don't think I'm the kind of customer you want, anyway. In fact, most of Benicians aren't, it seems, if you look at the voter registration. I will get fish tacos and a wrap elsewhere from here on out.

I saw a video clip on IG about this place so we decided to try it out. I've been to the Chinese restaurant that was located above years ago (Robert's), but I haven't tried this place. There was ample parking private and public. We ordered wings (naked) with BBQ and Ranch, french fries, and chicken strips. The wings were great! I loved it. It was perfectly cooked. It was crunchy outside and tender and juicy inside. The fries old and soggy so that was a bummer. The chicken strips were hit and miss. There were tender pieces while other pieces were tough and chewy. The service was good and our server was friendly and attentive. The ambiance, well, it's a bar. They serve alcohol and I'm glad we didn't have our grandkids with us because there were a few people that may have had too much to drink and every other word that came out of their mouth was a cuss word (very loud). I get it, to each its own. Based on the food? We may or may or be back. Based on the clientele, this would not be our go to. Oh, it wasn't for dinner but for a late lunch on a midweek.

Poor service. They take their phone off the line so you can't call to speak to anyone. Such a shame a local restaurant/bar has customer service like this.

The service was very off-putting. I had to go up to the bar in order to put in an order and I had to go up to the bar in order to request the check. It took 4 people to complete the service because I think they kept forgetting. As I waited the bartender was saying not to expect her to be nice because she is not that bi***! Again, who jokes about that in a restaurant. When I left, the first person who was waiting on me was outdoors smoking a cigarette with a group of patrons. They seem to be attentive to the locals, who were the ones along the bar, but for new people and unknowns, there seemed to be an intentional snubbing. What a weird vibe for a restaurant/sports bar that relies on customers to keep its doors open. I was very disappointed. When the service is bad, it is hard to comment about the food.

Have family in Benicia and always wanted to stop in but never did until last night. My sis & I went in hoping for some yummy bar food with drinks. The food was amazing! Over the course of 3 hours we shared the Potato Balls, wings, Shrimp Tacos & the Stuffed Mushrooms (those were fire!!!!) But the best part of the night was our server/bartender Veronica! Super sweet, fun & ATTENTIVE! Even when it got busier as the night went on & she was rockin' it behind the bar, she never forgot about us. We had a blast last night thanks to her! We'll be back for another shot with you soon!!

Good food and good drinks, great for watching NFL games on a sunday morning, I have been there several times and am always treated very well.

Decided to orégano before checking out the annual car show who the locals rave about. Mel greeted us with her infectious smile. She gave me places to catch up near the event. The food menu looks awesome and they have daily specials you cant beat. Highly recommend
